My family and I were visiting Reno from out of town when we were met with unexpected restrictions regarding our pet. Camp Bow Wow was quick to respond to my inquiries and settle any concerns I had. This was our first time using any doggy day care/boarding service and it the service was beyond what I could have expected. We were nervous, but they did a great job letting us know how she did for her initial interview, answered any questions I had throughout her stay and were extremely flexible with our schedule. My pup was even excited to return when we had to drop her off again! She participated in a few activities, like the pool pawty and sniff and seek and I even got some cute pictures of her experience! They have cameras that you can view from the app, and my pup always looked happy to be there. It gave us such peace of mind to know she was enjoying her little vacation too! I've been bringing my 16 y/o huskies-dogs here for the last three years. This has been a fantastic place to come for daycare and overnight boarding. My dogs are very senior and they take very good care of them. Even when one of my huskies passed away recently, they were so kind and considerate. I always recommend this place for my dog parent friends in south Reno. Overall review: This place is extremely easy to schedule a time for daycare or boarding. You can call online or the app. I've never had an issue trying to get a booking when calling ahead. The stay is extremely kind and nice when I check in/out. My dogs had never had an emergency or issue while they were there. Experiences: They have these cute little photo/treat sessions with all the holidays. They're great to have that some other dog daycares do, but are 2X-3X the price. I love bringing my dog in just for these. Pricing: I think they're in the middle of the road cost compared to other places I take my dogs too. I think it's a pretty standard fee. However, knowing my dogs are taken care of is a great peace of mind. Facility: It's always clean when I bring my dog in, other places we have been too are not this clean. They have cameras so you can use the app to check in on your dog. There is easy parking. Camp Bow Wow of South Reno is incredibly unprofessional. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for daycare and boarding. We went in for a tour which was provided by the owner. During the tour we discussed that our dog would be 7 months old during his stay (DOB Aug 19th 2025, making him 7 months old and 16 days at the start of the boarding on April 4th 2026). Their policy is that dogs over 7 months old must be fixed, so since we were right at that point, we wanted to see if he needed to be fixed. WE WERE TOLD HE DID NOT NEED TO BE FIXED DURING OUR TOUR WITH THE OWNER. Once he passed the evaluation, we made our reservation with the assistant manager and again confirmed that everything was acceptable with his age and intact state. AGAIN, WE WERE TOLD EVERYTHING WAS ACCEPTABLE AND ALLOWED TO MAKE THE RESERVATION. WE WERE ALSO TOLD THAT THE MANAGER HAD SIGNED OFF SINCE IT WAS ON THE CUSP OF THE AGE REQUIREMENT. After drop off, he was suddenly isolated for most of his stay with no communication via app, text, or phone, despite us opting into all alerts. We only discovered this by viewing the cameras. We saw him once on the camera, in a play pen, alone. No staff interacting with him, no dogs, nothing. He was pacing the side of the pen clearly upset. Heartbreaking. At pickup I asked what was going on with our dog. The manager replied that there were no issues. I asked again why he was separated and got the same answer. I asked a third time and pointed to the monitor in the lobby and asked why he was isolated and stated that he was clearly upset (at this point he was alone in a play pen pacing, which was currently on the monitors in the lobby). She looked at her computer and told me it was because he's not neutered and over the age requirement since he was over 8 months. I was in disbelief, especially since he was in fact 7 months old. We had checked and double checked that this would not be an issue and were reassured it would not be. After telling me there wasn't an issue, she then tried to say they were unaware of his age when they made the reservation, another blatant lie. The manager claimed our dog was over 8 months old and said they had to follow the "7-month rule" (even though he was) or they could get in "big trouble". I said this appeared to be an internal policy since other facilities had difference age requirements, including one in Spanish Springs which was 12 months. The manager then proceeded to tell me that that facility uses cattle prods on the dogs in their care, so good luck taking our dog there...the unprofessional nature of this manager was astounding. At this point I asked for partial refund since daycare (included in the boarding fee) was not provided. The manager said she had to call the owner. She came back and said that the owner said because he was over 8 months old it was our fault and we signed a waver. I expressed my displeasure with that response, and she said she'd go call again. The manager never came back and instead sent the assistant manager to collect the fee. I asked where the discount was and she said that I wasn't paying for daycare just boarding...? While I was paying the assistant manager kept saying they didn't isolate our dog and took great care of him. Ironically, during this discussion another staff member walked in and interjected herself into the conversation and said that we received a phone call when they decided to separate our dog (yet another lie). The assistant manager looked at the staff member and told her to stop talking. I tried to inquire about this supposed phone call and our dog being 'separated' and the assistant manager told me to be the bigger person and just leave. The treatment our dog received was unacceptable. The staff are unprofessional and dishonest. I strongly recommend going anywhere else. I wish I had taken the other negative reviews more seriously. read more

Our first time at Camp Bow Wow for our 13 year old Westie and six month old Scottie. The facility is so clean and it was fun watching the dogs interact on the video camera. My dog was attacked here, left with a gash on her head, and I was stuck with the vet bills. I trusted this daycare with my dog 5 days a week for almost 6 months. The staff always raved about how sweet and well-behaved she was. Then one day, I picked her up and discovered a deep wound on her head that required stitches. When I called, they admitted she was attacked by another dog while in their care. Their "solution" was to not charge me for that day--while I paid hundreds of dollars in vet bills. I asked to see the video of the incident (they stream live video for owners every day), but they refused to show it. Instead, they tried to shift the blame onto my dog--even though they confirmed the other dog was being written up. The more I pushed for answers, the more clear it became they were hiding the truth. Finally, when I demanded accountability, they banned my dog and called her "too aggressive." This place is not safe. They failed to protect my dog, refused transparency, and then tried to cover it up. Do not take your dog here--you're risking their safety. read more

After thoroughly researching all the doggy day care and boarding options in the area, I was comfortable trying out Camp Bow Wow. What drew me to Camp Bow Wow, was 1) the high reviews, 2) the competitive pricing, packages, a first timer discount package (which is great option for new clients!), and 3) the separation between large and small dogs. Upon our initial interview with my 4 year old chihuahua mix, I was extremely happy with how the staff informed me of the process, their standards and what to expect going forward. You could tell he was a little nervous at first being at this new day care (we had recently moved to the area). They were patient with him and slowly introduced other dogs of the same size. Even with a shy stint to start with he passed the interview and was able to stay for the rest of the day.When I picked him up, you could tell he had a great time and was tired out (which is why I bring him!). We have also utilized their boarding service. We added a cuddle time enrichment and sent us pictures during it. Such a nice touch to see our baby happy and healthy while we were away. Overall, I have been very happy with the staff at Camp Bow Wow since! added bonus is being able to see him on the cameras, and I think they spray them with deodorizer before they send them home, because he smells good whenever I pick him up! I went to check the kennel out, I was very disappointed. They have one attendant per 25 dogs. The area only had one climbing apparatus in the play area. The area smells like dog urine, I'm not sure how often it's cleaned. The rates are high for what they offer. read more

As anyone can tell, I am dedicated on finding the best care for my two Malti-Shitzu's.. I was excited to try Camp Bow Wow, because I have learned, to always have back ups. I filled out the forms online, and they had called to set up the appointment. It's convenient, and located right next door to my dealership. Staff and management was friendly and provided information. We also took a tour of the facility. It's clean and spacious. My main reason to wanting to become a customer was to also utilize the grooming facilities. For a dog owner that has their dogs groomed 5-6 weeks, it is best to have all housed in a one stop shop. The dogs passed with flying colors on the interviews (social butterflies).. and they were able to stay at least the three hours to be observed. No charge for the initial interview is too notch! I do like how the cameras are easy to view from our phones, and they have a schedule of taking the dogs out. Prices are competitive with our other two daycare facilities we alternate with. I think today's visit was a win win! They are closed on Sunday's, and at 4 pm. Definitely will bring them again for day of fun. Once they find a groomer, I will post an update. It's always clean and the staff has never been anything but friendly to me and Ziggy. I love that I can "check in" occasionally via the Camper Cam. Camp Bow Wow is my dog's second home! We can't say the word "Camp" in our house or he is jumping up and down wanting to go. The Staff there are so nice and friendly and greet us every time with open arms. The facility is so clean.. There's always some kind of an enrichment going on that my dog loves to do. The swim parties during the summer are his favorite. From day to day Camp to boarding have been fantastic. My dog comes home from Camp days exhausted as he has a lot of fun. My Aussie loves Camp and is very satisfied and tired after attending. The only place that really wears him out. He just turned 7 months old so he has to be neutered before he can return, which isn't happening until May. He's going to be happy when he gets to go again in the Summer after his alteration. I had high hopes for this place but it's declined with each visit (now our 3rd). The second time I paid for a special bath and cuddle time, but when we picked our dog up she smelled distinctly of urine. So they didn't keep her away from what we're other dogs urine on the floor. This time - again - our dog smelled of urine and each time she's been very stressed upon pickup likes she's ready to get out of there. It's sad b/c I think the place has potential but the attention to detail is lacking and it's wholly unacceptable to pick UP your dog smelling of urine from a doggie day care when she didn't smell like that upon drop off. Oh and this was the picture they sent me from "cuddle time" - an upgraded service. But I don't see my 'dog' in the photo and there was 1 sent over 5 days of boarding. I can't tell you how excited I was to find Camp Bow Wow, as a way for my almost 6 month old puppy to get in some good socialization and play time. She passed their temperament testing, and I went ahead and purchased their new client package for $100. This was all done in preparation for an out of town trip I'm going on soon. She has been to daycare with them a few times, and has come home with little scrapes and bumps, which I know are normal in the course of dogs playing. I get that. She ended up being boarded at CBW this past weekend as I had to be out of town on short notice. When I picked her up, I noticed injuries to her neck and throat. I wanted to get her home and clean her up in case maybe it wasn't an injury, but some dirt or something. When I got home, I discovered the full extent of the bite wounds in the pictures, as well as smaller wounds on the other side of her neck, and marks at her throat. I immediately called CBW, who denied any knowledge of her having an injury. They then said it would be too difficult for them to review the footage to see what happened. Then the story changed to her injuries were noticed the day before I picked her up, but the staff determined she was fine, and chose not to treat her in any way, call me, my emergency contact, or her vet. It's likely she ran around with an open bleeding wound for a couple days amidst all the poop and pee. Luckily my mother was watching the tapes one day, and saw her get taken and held down on the floor by another dog. She was about to call and have the staff check in on her, but she watched a staff member look at the two dogs and keep walking, so she hoped all was well. Their excuse is that my 28lb puppy plays hard. Even if she does, how does that warrant her being bit on the throat? Why is a dog willing to bite others on the neck allowed to stay? God knows how much worse this could have been. The same staff who determined she was fine, apparently are also brand new (per the manager) and needed to be retrained in how to properly watch dogs. CBW is refusing to refund the money I paid for them to watch and keep my puppy safe this weekend. They haven't provided me the video I've asked for, nor have they given me the dog's info and shot records that I've requested. The responses I've gotten from the manager are few and far between, which really lets you know where their priorities lie, and it's certainly not caring for your pup and keeping them safe. I'm telling everyone I can (as is her vet's office) to avoid CBW due to their gross negligence and complete lack of care. By the way, they have an F rating on Better Business Bureau, something that everyone should be aware of, and I wish I'd checked out before entrusting my pup with them. read more

Horrible experience. I left my dog for the 3 hour interview process. She did great being introduced slowly. Once in the playroom, she mostly just sat against the wall. She tried to get attention a few times, but was overwhelmed. It was sad to watch, but no one's fault really. When she disappeared from camera view, I went to pick her up - it had been 2 1/2 hours. THEY HAD LOCKED HER IN A CAGE! She was there for what was supposed to be 3 hours of daycare/socialization and she was isolated for AT LEAST 30 minutes of that time. The staff was not honest when I arrived. First I was told she was at lunch. That quickly changed to she's having her "cabin test" which we told you about. (LIE) They could not provide a reason for locking her up- We do it to every new dog in case you ever want to board, it's for her to self sooth, she needed down time, it's not a cage - it's a cabin ... pathetic read more

If I could give zero reviews I would. Front desk brunette's customer service was so bad it seemed like she was trying to be rude. I brought my dog in and bought their 20-pack of half days yesterday for $500. Today when I came to pick my dog up no later than 10 minutes past when I was supposed to she wanted to charge me for a full day when I was told yesterday that I could pay the difference of the $7. Thankfully I didn't have a card on file and they had given me my dog so I walked out but I am out $500 now because they won't refund me. On top of all that when I got home they decided to charge me for another day without authorization. They have on their site that it's a 4.6 rating which is misleading if you come here a read the real ones. This place could have been great but the one staff member is going to ruin it for everyone. read more

I signed up for Yelp just to leave this review....I was with a friend who was doing an "interview" with her dog and we were watching the live cams of the counselors with the dogs. There was one woman who was legit dancing with the dogs!!‍ They have live webcams you can go online and watch the dogs and the employees interact. We found out her name was Wendy and if your lucky you may catch her dancing with the dog stars and enjoying the pups. Love, love, love the atmosphere here! I never write reviews but this is a special case. IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG PLEASE DO NOT take it there! If I could give this place 0 stars I would! I have no words for this disaster of a "dog camp". There is nothing worse than a horrible boarding place when you go on vacation and Camp Bow Wow is definitely a disaster! In addition, the owner is one panicking individual unfit to deal with any emergencies!! She called us in the middle of the night while we were in Europe and told us to pick up our dog. No problem, let me hop on a 12 hour flight. My dog was isolated for most of the time because apparently he is "aggressive", which he is definitely not. I also called the day before and was told that he is great and doing really well. Turned aggressive in a few hours??? I actually very glad he was not happy there because he probably would have died in this horrible place. I separated his food in bags 1 bag per day and labeled and marked each day and wrote days of the week on individual bags since we were gone for 2 weeks. We also mix wet and dry food. When our friend picked him up, they didn't give him all his food ( I had treats, yogurt etc) and after 3 days of this hell they used 12 bags/days of his food! So even if he wouldn't have been picked up they would have run out of the daily portion food!!!!??? And then what they would have done? Called me to bring more of his food? MAJOR FAIL. I am not interested in camp shit show reply or an apology, super happy my dog got out of this hell hole and would post this and spread the word everywhere I can. Every negative review they have it's always the dog's fault, right??? PLEASE DO NOT take your dog there! Avoid this place at all costs! Do your homework, read bad reviews and do your research! Our dog did well in their "test" but definitely couldn't stay in sterile jail for more than 3 days. read more

My experience was related to interacting with the staff and manager there. They wouldn't accept documentation from California to validate vaccination as they stated the vaccination didn't have an expiration date. Bordetella has a minimum expiration of 6 months and vaccine wouldn't expire until end of August. Speaking to the manager didn't help as she hung up on me before we resolved the issue. They didn't offer any alternatives or to communicate with the clinic in California. This was a negative experience for me. read more

We are so happy that Camp Bow Wow opened in Reno! When we moved from Chicago we were disappointed that none of the daycare/boarding facilities in Reno had live cameras to view while we were away so that was the first thing that brought us here. We were able to take a tour and it is a beautiful facility that is well thought out and organized for every detail. It is kept very clean and the top priority for them is safety which is comforting since these girls are our babies. Other things I love about Camp Bow Wow: -Owners & staff are so sweet and their love for dogs show in all interactions they have with our pups -High tech: live cameras are high quality and we could view while on vacation in Mexico. Online reservation system is easy to use. The app is so easy to use as well and you can see cameras, online booking, etc. there -Access to inside and outside play areas freely -Enrichment sessions: you can add these to their stay and since we were gone for a week the girls got extra snuggles and sniff & seek while we were gone (the owner sent me an email and pic of that while we were gone) -Daily log: we got a daily log of how the girls ate while we were gone. This was comforting to know that they were eating properly. You can even have the team add pumpkin if needed for their tummies. -Discounts for daycare packages -Schedules build in rest time throughout the day when they are boarding and our two girls were able to sleep in the same space at night on raised beds. read more

I will start off by saying I used to work here and board my dog here. I had to leave because the employees are very emotionally driven and very young and don't know how to control their emotions. A couple of times I've seen employees get very frustrated and hit and drag dogs by their collars even if they are crying out of pain. The cameras may make you feel good but once these employees are off camera they will do anything. They pick favorites for dogs and if they don't like your dog they will treat them like another animal in a prison. Sianna is very two faced and not to be trusted, she will tell anything to a customer (even if it's a complete lie) just to get your money. The packages being sold are not worth it and I can tell you from personal experience that Kristen (the owner)doesn't care for any of the dogs there. She hasn't stepped foot into any of the yards in years and she just tell everyone to "upsell, upsell, upsell". For those of you that are regulars Greg, Cynthia, and Linda, I loved helping you guys but Kristen is usuing you guys as her pawn and I severely encourage anyone who has their dog go here to reconsider. I have seen the most inhumane treatment at this place and I had to leave because of it, especially after seeing employees threatening to kill other employees. Please just remember that the cameras are very misleading and anything off camera is really heart wrenching. If you decide to tour the facility don't let that fool you either, they send a message back to everyone telling them there is a tour coming through so everyone can act completely different. I've been wanting to write this review for a long time and I just can't stand to see people review this place and not see what's actually happening. Kristen, you should've made better decisions especially when it comes to the Sianna household, this daycare could've truly been something better but there will always be a high turnover rate with them around! read more

Love it here! We have used both the daycare and boarding for our pup and have had only positive experiences. The staff shows such love and care for our pup. We use the services for bath/grooming and our girl comes home clean and smelling good. The prices are competitive, the packages are affordable, love the camera on the app to check in on our girl during the day, and we like having our small dog separated from the big dogs. Looking for added stress for absolutely no reason? The Camp Bow Wow is the choice. I called weeks before my first visit to get all the details, needed an overnight for my diabetic dog. I spoke to the front desk person several times, filled out all the forms and information about my dogs medication (insulin injections) scheduled a special vet trip to get vaxx updated and NEVER ONCE did they let me know the can't give injections. We live 2 hours away and I told them that several times, had a flight leaving today. Went for the "interview" and all good. Even explained the insulin & dosage! Only found out when we went back to drop off treats that they wouldn't be able to keep him due to meds. What if we had gone to the airport? What if we were already on our flight?!? Seriously need to train your employees about your policies and add "NO INJECTIONS" to your website. THANK GOD for Rover app.!!! Found a pet sitter with great reviews, much cheaper and my fur baby gets his meds. I'll not ever be returning to Camp No How. read more

I took my dog here on 3 occasions due to work this fall. Each time, I measured out his food. The last time I picked him up, he was dirty, smelled like urine and had feces caked in his fur. Only 1/3 of his measured food had been used for the 4 days. He looked terrible. I had paid for a bath and nail clipping as well, they did neither. We will never return. read more

We have been going to bow wow for a few years now and have never had a problem. Recently, it has been nothing but nonsense. The fact that you can no longer call or drop in to make a reservation is absurd. My dog came back with kennel cough 2x, and his medications haven't been administered properly on multiple occasions. We were in a bind as we had just moved to Reno and did not have our friends close by to dog sit. We had a 2 week vacation planned and had never left our dogs in any type of a dog care business. The team at Bow Wow camp did a fantastic job and deserve a 6 star rating. I cannot say enough in regards to the care our dogs received. Plus, an added bonus for us, Toby was nervous/scared around other dogs due to being attacked as a pup. They worked with him and he is now more comfortable around other dogs which was a major breakthrough for us! This is our first experience with doggy daycare but I am SO impressed! I have a border collie who is very protective over me and usually pretty reactive. I wanted to put her in daycare to help socialize her and get her some much needed exercise. I chose Camp Bow Wow because they have cameras so you can check in on your pup at any time. I was pretty nervous taking her for her "interview" day, she was very hesitant with the staff at first, but they did great with her. She spent almost the whole time sitting in the corner (probably thought I abandoned her lol). But when I took her for her second day, she warmed up quick and played sooo much! The facility seems awesome, they have multiple play yards both inside and outside. I am so impressed with how personable Camp Bow Wow is. When I reserved her second day I mentioned in the comments that she might be nervous, and they sent a reassuring response that she would warm up. Today was her third day, and the camp counselor recognized her as soon as we walked in and she went right up to him which is HUGE for her! I purchased the welcome package (3 full days of camp, 1 enrichment session, and 1 bath for $95), so today I asked to use her enrichment session. It is 15 minutes of one-on-one time with a camp counselor, and I got to choose between things like tug-of-war, sniff-and-seek, or fetch. I chose fetch and got an email during the day telling me how her session went. They said she had so much fun and loved the squeaky ball and even included pictures and a video! They also wrote up a little card about how it went that I got when I picked her up. I definitely want her to have more enrichment sessions, and they also offer deluxe ones where you can choose dog agility, ball pit, etc. In only 3 sessions I feel like my dog has become so much more social and I am so grateful for all of the amazing camp counselors. They seem to really get to know the dogs and treat them like their own. It's also super convenient that you can drop off and pick up anytime between 7am-7pm on weekdays for a full camp day, and I like that they offer packages for discounted prices.
