our little guy goofing around during his 1 on 1 enrichment time

After thoroughly researching all the doggy day care and boarding options in the area, I was comfortable trying out Camp Bow Wow. What drew me to Camp Bow Wow, was 1) the high reviews, 2) the competitive pricing, packages, a first timer discount package (which is great option for new clients!), and 3) the separation between large and small dogs. Upon our initial interview with my 4 year old chihuahua mix, I was extremely happy with how the staff informed me of the process, their standards and what to expect going forward. You could tell he was a little nervous at first being at this new day care (we had recently moved to the area). They were patient with him and slowly introduced other dogs of the same size. Even with a shy stint to start with he passed the interview and was able to stay for the rest of the day. When I picked him up, you could tell he had a great time and was tired out (which is why I bring him!). We have also utilized their boarding service. We added a cuddle time enrichment and sent us pictures during it. Such a nice touch to see our baby happy and healthy while we were away. Overall, I have been very happy with the staff at Camp Bow Wow since! added bonus is being able to see him on the cameras, and I think they spray them with deodorizer before they send them home, because he smells good whenever I pick him up! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a daycare or boarding facility.

As anyone can tell, I am dedicated on finding the best care for my two Malti-Shitzu's.. I was excited to try Camp Bow Wow, because I have learned, to always have back ups. I filled out the forms online, and they had called to set up the appointment. It's convenient, and located right next door to my dealership. Staff and management was friendly and provided information. We also took a tour of the facility. It's clean and spacious. My main reason to wanting to become a customer was to also utilize the grooming facilities. For a dog owner that has their dogs groomed 5-6 weeks, it is best to have all housed in a one stop shop. The dogs passed with flying colors on the interviews (social butterflies).. and they were able to stay at least the three hours to be observed. No charge for the initial interview is too notch! I do like how the cameras are easy to view from our phones, and they have a schedule of taking the dogs out. Prices are competitive with our other two daycare facilities we alternate with. I think today's visit was a win win! They are closed on Sunday's, and at 4 pm. Definitely will bring them again for day of fun. Once they find a groomer, I will post an update. Thanks Camp Bow Wow for choosing a South Reno location and giving us another alternative!

I had high hopes for this place but it's declined with each visit (now our 3rd). The second time I paid for a special bath and cuddle time, but when we picked our dog up she smelled distinctly of urine. So they didn't keep her away from what we're other dogs urine on the floor. This time - again - our dog smelled of urine and each time she's been very stressed upon pickup likes she's ready to get out of there. It's sad b/c I think the place has potential but the attention to detail is lacking and it's wholly unacceptable to pick UP your dog smelling of urine from a doggie day care when she didn't smell like that upon drop off. Oh and this was the picture they sent me from "cuddle time" - an upgraded service. But I don't see my 'dog' in the photo and there was 1 sent over 5 days of boarding. Disappointing to say the least.

We took our 2 dogs there and they are unsanitary, smelly and came back with Kennel cough among other issues. We will never go back.

Our precious fourteen year old female was called beautiful and had pics taken of passerby's. When we picked her up after her being there for three hours or more ( every visit the same amount of time ) we just wanted to get them home. With her we noticed immediately her " beautiful fan tail " was no more. Her hind leg had been shaved to the bone. The shaver got away from one of their employees and that employee was not honest enough to report it. And if it was reported to his or her employer when we picked up our precious dog the incident was ignored and she was handed over to us like nothing ever happened. Now, a few months later she still has the large bald spot on the back of her hind leg where no hair has grown.. Her tail is completely butchered it hasn't grown out to its " beautiful fan wave" for a Collie after all this time. " I cant imagine what she was put through" being there! Our two year old male dog the most loving ever had his face completely missed his beard went over his lip. I trimmed it myself. I'm grateful our male dog hadn't gone through the trauma our precious female had gone through. I personally feel that someone there ( management) should be taking responsibility by checking while dogs are being groomed by ( newbies ) or any employee in any manner. I feel my female dog was left with a newbie and was not given the attention to this employee that he or she needed with managing. My daughter and I were under the impression that the woman that met us outside( same woman that groomed twice before ) asked how we'd like their grooming taken care of would be the one attending to both our dogs we trusted her grooming since she had done both our dogs twice before and we were happy with their outcome We had made recommendations to friends about Animal Oasis. We put our trust in the woman who greeted us who seemed interested in our concerns towards their grooming. This business failed my dogs and us. We should have looked at the grooming before paying the $100.00 per dog and not given the tips. I've never had to write up a complaint I waited hoping my female dog would grow her beautiful hair back to its original shape " Not" ! The Animal Oasis deserves this complaint. If you go to Animal Oasis after my complaint ask questions like who will be attending fully to my animal and look carefully after the work has been completed to your satisfaction before tipping. Get names, your dog is part of your loving family and should be treated like so.

Growing up, I was always surrounded by animals and shared my life with breeds like Great Danes, Labradors, and Pomeranians. Being around dogs has always brought me joy, and that passion continues to this day. Friends and family often ask me to care for their pets because they know how much I love animals and how seriously I take that responsibility. I prefer to care for one dog at a time so I can give them my full attention, love, and care—just like they deserve. They have all been very good to me and my boys. I have also always had their shots done, and was always prepared for that since they notify you by email in advance when their shots are expiring. They have extended my boys stays on short notice or were able to get them in on short notice as well. The only thing that has ever been required sooner than most places was kennel cough, and flu which is completely understandable! SO THANK YOU CHRISTOPHER RAYNOR , for pulling out so my pups could go in on short notice, especially since my boys shots were up to date. On another note Mr. Raynor, don't go trash talking my family. I consider The Bark House extended family since they have always taken care of my boys and have always notified me when my pups were due for their shots. I don't appreciate someone who trash talks my family when you sir, were not in compliance, and really dude...do you know that parvo can kill a dog? Again, The Bark House has always taken care of my boys, and if you give them enough heads up they will even bath them before you head in to taken them home! I recommend them to everyone and they are good supporters of military, police and I believe first responders as well. But being military and police, they have supported me and my boys since I discovered them! They are wonderful with my boys which always come home tired and happy from playing! The good - the female facilitator and the other gentleman were very sweet. They gave a great tour, and were always happy to take calls or answer questions. I think this place is great for folks who work on USA Parkway, or folks who are content with quick exchanges with no feedback. The bad - Unfortunately most of my drop offs consisted of dealing with Thomas, the owner. He made it clear pretty early on that he thought me and my dog had "anxiety issues". When I picked my dog up each day I liked to ask how her day was, as I'm genuinely interested (I love my dog lol) and it's nice to make small talk. Thomas took this interaction as me thinking my dog had a problem, and would make comments about my dog having some type of issue. He constantly rubbed me the wrong way, saying it was incorrect for me to say goodbye to my dog as it would increase her anxiety, and mentioning that I shouldn't call in to check on her. The final straw was today, Thomas had made a comment to my husband yesterday that my dog was "nippy" with him, and I wanted to talk to Thomas about it directly as I was genuinely concerned about my dog showing potential signs of aggression. Upon me asking him about it, he immediately let me know I should probably find another daycare, as I'm the owner he deals with that has the most issues or concerns. I tried to amicably let him know I'm only trying to get more information on the situation, but he kept insisting I go somewhere else since I'm not happy. This was a totally unprofessional way to speak to me, and as a paying customer I think it's well within my right to ask second level questions about my dog's behavior. I will be taking his advice, and going to a different daycare that doesn't view me as a problem customer for checking in on my dog or asking about her at pickup. 2 stars because they helped us out during days we needed dog care, and I'm appreciative for that!
