We have taken both of our dogs to Adventure pet for a few staycations. While one dog we learned isn't a group boarding sort of dog (he's an older Shiba) our other dog loves it there. We appreciate their outdoor space, cleanliness, and care they give the dogs. We live in NW Reno and pass a number of other boarding places just to take our dog somewhere we know she will be well taken care of. We've taken our pups to Adventure Pet for years since it opened. They come home exhausted, which usually lasts into the next day. Recently we brought the dogs in as usual, but received a call from staff that our 2yr old Boxer was suddenly lethargic and vomiting, with a swollen face and hives all over her body. We rushed her to the emergency vet, where she was treated for anaphylactic shock. She made a full recovery, but if not for the staff's quick response, our Boxer may not have survived, per the vet. Adventure Pet staff is on site 24/7, so whether day camp or boarding, the pups always have attentive and caring help nearby if needed. Adventure Pet is simply the best! read more

Also, I want my small dog separated from large dogs which they don't do. We were also put off by the owner. A lot of emphasis on the building design and how much he spent. A friend recommended Adventure Pet for a day camp for our dog Yogi. He absolutely LOVES this place. As we get about 1/2 mile away he starts freaking out (so excited). The staff is super friendly, the facility is very clean, and we regularly get Yogi' nails cut here. We also usually get him a bath while he is there. He comes home exhausted. Update: Jackson has been going now for a while and he loves it. As soon as we make the left turn off Double R he knows where we are headed. He'll keep his nose out window and I swear he smiles. He loves playing with all his friends human and dog. He goes in squeaky clean and comes out a hot mess. He'll sleep all the way home and through the night. DISAPINTED BIG TIME!! This place I've brought my dogs for over three years and WAS happy until the last six months or so. They come across as caring people. ..... I booked like I always have months in advance for holidays. I boarded my dogs there and even used their exscursion service and grooming until there was a problem then another then another. Last Christmas I even had a custom made gingerbread house to thank them and they used it on their website saying something like"see! Even our customers love us!" I never even got a thank you but got one from a employee I dropped it off with. I can't tell you how many times they said they would call me back and never did! They requested I put 500.00 in to a credit so they can h e money up front even though others didn't hVe to! They canceled all my over night reservations without telling me so I had to scramble to find another place!! I could t for months get into their website for the e.xscursiond so I could put credit into my account and they did t even bother to help me so again left hanging. I spent thousands there and can't believe how they handled business. Real World canine has been wonderful. They truly care about their clients and doggies It cost a little more but I never have to worry about if my doggies have a place to stay if I need them to again! Plus the dogs get more ex recuse since they have a inside pool and huge area with a obstacle course. Too many better choices folks. Not as it appears! AND THEN you respond by posting my financial situation?? YOU know I could t do what you asked by depositing 500.00 in your account because I couldn't get in and you continually refused to help me with a password etc, Your response was so terrible and saying I was rude to your employees was. Total LIE!!! I never cancelled grooming yet your groomer didn't schedule me on days she told me!! In fact I left there crying a few times and you know it!! Wow. My husband and I took our beloved dog Sawyer here for his $25 evaluation. When we're driving in I noticed it was a industrial park with dozens of business. We arrived and this place was in the very back tucked in to a large hill. We got out of our car and were greeted by a pack of 20 barking dogs! It was scary. I know when dogs bark like that they are just bored and saying " get me out of here" and I could see why... The place looked like what a dog prison would be. It was gated and all cement everywhere. There was a cement pool in the middle filled with dirty water...a very sad looking place. When we went inside we were greeted with more barking insanity...I literally was beyond annoyed. I was recommended this place by a person I had just met, but she had told me that they have these weekly excursions for the dogs, fun spots that all dogs would enjoy. We were also looking for a place we could use for boarding him when we travel too. I couldn't leave this horrible place fast enough...the incessant barking was just horrible. These guys are a life saver. I was dog sitting for my parents 10 month old puppy and these guys took excellent care of Buddy during my long work work day. He always came home tired out and was always eager to go back in the mornings. When I interacted with staff, it was apparent to me that they love the dogs there, know the dogs and their personalities and communicate with owners about the good and bad of the day. I've also boarded at the facility and I'm pleased with how they look after the dogs that are boarded. They have an easy online reservation system, video cameras through out the facility and have a staff that obviously love dogs I will reccomend them for any dog owner in Reno looking for a place to leave their dog for day care or boarding. read more

We looked at a few "Doggie Daycare" providers before selecting Adventure Pet. My German Shepherd, Marshall, is still enough of a puppy that he needs to get up and move. Being a former stray, he also needed to be around other dogs in a safe environment. Adventure Pet did not let us down. The staff was great, even accommodating his somewhat neurotic nature to make him feel safe and secure. At the end of day one, Marshall was completely worn out. He played HARD and had a great day. I have boarded with them for 10 days at a time and they take excellent care and give you updates if requested. I also appreciate their grooming service which just recently changed but I received a personal phone call from her introducing herself and offering her services. I love this place, it is so clean and so personable to each dog. I never have any worries when I am at work or on vacation. I can't say enough good things about this place. My sweet puppy had a rough start in life having to live on the streets of Tijuana. She was under socialized and had really bad separation anxiety. The staff here is really dedicated to making dogs feel at home and safe. They took Lena in for a couple of half day sessions and each day she is improving. Now instead of crating her all day while I work she can play with other dogs and interact with people that really understand dogs. Plus I have some place safe to leave her when I travel. The entire property was built with dogs in mind. The owners are super dedicated and very honest. On top of the overall friendliness of the staff I was overly impressed with how clean the place is. Adventure Pet is where we send our current Labs, Sailor and Cole. We love our dogs like they are our kids. Stephanie and Troy have built a business based on their love of dogs and their passion to insure our kids are kept safe and have a blast playing with other dogs. We started working with them when they just had a couple of vans and took our kids out on adventures. When we had our oldest lab, Lucy Liu, she would wait by the door to go on an another adventure with Troy or Stephanie. And they took extra great care of Lucy as she became a senior dog. When they grew their business, we began to utilize their new Base Camp. Their Adventure Pet Bass Camp is really an amazing place for daycare and boarding. The staff is wonderful and you can really tell that they all love being around your dogs. Sailor and Cole come back home ready for long naps and that sure gives us a bit of relief as when we come home from work, we are a bit tired ourselves. It is comforting to know that our kids had the time of their lives during the day while we were at work. Bottom Line - Do not hesitate to trust the great team at Adventure Pet with your kids! We can't say enough wonderful things about the owners and staff at Adventure Pet. Our dogs have been with them since the very beginning and we wouldn't have them anywhere else. Shiloh, our 7-year old female Border Collie/Lab has been with Adventure for just over a month. We were interviewed by Troy and Jon prior to getting her on the Tue/Thu runs. Yes THEY interviewed us to understand Shiloh's needs and to see how she would react to them and would fit in with Jon's other Tue/Thu pack dogs. They want it to be fun but also a safe environment for the dogs. We had no questions after all was shared. Shiloh has changed over this past month. Already, she knows when to expect Jon to pull up and she waits by the window with excitement. No leash needed to get her into the van (unless it's running). She doesn't hesitate either way to jump in with the pack. The first couple of times, upon returning from the runs, she just crashed exhausted. Her arthritis was hurting but now she is full of energy (for 30 minutes after returning), then sleeps for awhile. Easier for her to get up off the floor. She smiles, she's active, jumps up and down for treats, has dropped weight, has less pain and is just plain happier. Jon took special care in getting Shiloh up to speed knowing that she has arthritis and is a good 5 years older than the others in the pack. We also notice how much better Shiloh responds to directions. We love seeing the pictures posted daily to Facebook of each Adventure. All the dogs are so happy, especially Shiloh. Just know that there will be days when your dog will come home wet and dirty, but to us, worth every paw print!!! We were looking for a way to wear out our 7month old Golden but weren't ready to send her out on the field trips. Adventure Pet has an amazing custom built daycare with a wonderful group of dog sitters, activities and all the love and attention you give your own doggie. I'm writing this review because your dog deserves the best and if you love your baby as we do ours, this needs to be on our list of daycares to visit. I'm holding back from telling you of all the features and benefits you will find at Adventure pet. As I fear If everyone knows about this place I'll never get a spot. Until then they take walk-ins but your doggie must past an assessment test before being admitted. PS... I cannot say enough good things about this facility. We have two dogs who we have been taking there for some time. The dogs get so excited when we put them in the car and almost drag us to the front door when we arrive. We cannot exercise them enough ourselves, especially our 81lb. Lab, like a day of running with the other hounds at Adventure Pet. And they really care about their customers and their dogs! Recently when my husband and I came down with Covid and he was hospitalized, they boarded the dogs for a few days so I could take care of things at home and visit my husband in the hospital. They did this even though they were already booked for boarding as it was the week of Thanksgiving. And one of the owners called during that time to see how we were doing. Easily the best daycare and boarding I know of. Their ventilation system is over the top ridiculous. Place is extremely clean. Staff cuddles with homesick dogs. Dogs socialize with dogs of similar temperaments. Dogs' comfort is monitored, if too hot they rotate inside. Online booking is extremely fast and convenient. I think the facility obtains immunization records from the vet so I'm not hounded for paperwork every six months. read more

Update....we have been with Adventure Pet for over 5 years. We select people to care for our dogs with the same standards that I recommend for my patients selecting daycare for their children. Kate, now Jack and soon Maia will join the group.Troy and Stephanie are caring, kind and incredibly ethical. One time we went over a month without walks because they couldn't find people they trusted with everyones pups. We primarily use the adventures but Jack loved his day care experience. We have been bringing our dog Sammie here since February. She is a very high energy dog and we just don't have the time to take her to the dog park for multiple hours everyday. We used to take her to a different daycare facility and after a hike she stopped wanting to go. We would have to force her into the car and she would go in with her tail between her legs. Something wasn't right. We found Adventure Pet and have been so happy. She leaps out of the car and can barely contain herself when she goes in. And even better, she's exhausted when she comes home and the whole next day she spends sleeping. She has been getting in a lot less trouble and listens much better. On October 26th, 2018 Adventure Pet lost our dog, a Lhasa Apso - Shish Tzu mix, by the name of Chuck. He was a small dog, weighing no more than 25 pounds with a tan coat of fur on his body. Chuck had been going to Adventure Pet for a while (couple of years) at the time, doing the outdoor excursion adventures in a big dirt field with weeds and some small walking trails in Washoe Valley off of Old 395. One morning, he got picked up like he always did, and we expected him to be at home that day when I returned home from football practice. Instead, he got separated from the pack without the trail leader noticing, and they decided to tell us about 2 hours later our dog had gone missing and they we unable to find him. Chuck isn't the type of dog to just leave on his own, the old trail leaders would joke with us saying that he was a scaredy cat because he wouldn't leave their side. So, for him to somehow just magically disappear into the wilderness of a common ground to him was very strange. Then for the company to tell us hours later, not immediately, that he was missing didn't help us find our dog because we missed out on 2 hours of key time where we could have found him in the area. With 2 hours of him being on his own, he is able to go as far as he wants while the trail leader stood there helpless instead of taking action. Eventually, we had a whole search party out there with the owners, family, friends, and some other workers of Adventure Pet. We tried very hard to find him, I personally searched close to 25 miles of walking distance in a 5-hour span, so I was able to find my dog. Our family still continued to search after that night, we searched almost every day for 3 weeks. We were checking adoption shelters for him; we were putting out flyers and doing all that we could to find our dog. Chuck wasn't a big wilderness dog, he enjoyed his small excursions and then going home to sleep on his bed. It got to a point where we were searching for nothing. The wife of the owners kept reassuring us that they were looking on their free time, and we appreciated the help, considering they were the ones that lost our dog in Washoe Valley where there are snakes, cold nights, bears, and coyotes. Eventually, we started to lose hope, and took a vacation during Christmas to go see family and get our mind off of it. Somehow, on December 26th, 2018 (Chucks Birthday), the wife was called by one of the Adventure Pet workers. She was told they had found him in a ditch of the area the company told us to originally not to look. The dog that they found was somehow the same weight with no scratches, no missing fur, no hurt paws. They described that dog as exactly how we left our dog, but somehow, he didn't lose any weight or get hurt after living in the wilderness for 2 months alone. That doesn't seem to add up. The company also failed to take any pictures or provide any documentation about this dog to prove that it was actually Chuck. So for all we know, it could be some random animal that they were able to get cremated for us so we could get off their back. Sounds a little strange, yes? Adventure Pet also failed to provide any financial services to help our family for compensation for losing our dog. This truly shows the character of their company. I wrote this because I do not want anyone else to experience what my family and I had to go through, and we don't want anyone else to get hurt by their actions and morals. They're ahhmaziiing!!! My fur baby LOVES LOVES this place and they offer excursions which my guy has not done yet but they're legitimately invested in your pup! What a fantastic alternative to regular doggie day care! Our pups now know exactly what day it is, because when it's Adventure Pet excursion day, they sit by the front door to watch for the van. We boarded our dog here for a week while we were away and at first we thought it was a nice, friendly and clean place for her to stay. But the employees ended up being not very nice or friendly and when we took our dog home she had skin rashes that she had never had. Wouldn't try this place again or recommend them. read more

You can tell they take pride in their work and are passionate about the dogs. My sweet pup takes a little bit of time to feel comfortable around new people and places. During the initial evaluation, they made sure to slowly get him acclimated with the staff, other dogs and facility. My dog is like the Energizer bunny, but was completely exhausted after his first day at day camp. The next time I took him, he started going crazy with excitement in the car when he saw the Basecamp. Adventure pet is amazing. I take my dogs Cocoa and Charlee (who is blind and deaf) to their daycare and my dogs literally wait by my truck to go. The staff is amazing and I know my dogs are being loved on and are safe while they are there. They also do an amazing job with boarding when I'm out of town. I get sick from time to time as I have had two heart transplants and adventure pet never hesitates to step up and help me with my dogs when I need them.
