Jackson Puppers. Exploring the Sierras
Catherine F.

Update: Jackson has been going now for a while and he loves it. As soon as we make the left turn off Double R he knows where we are headed. He'll keep his nose out window and I swear he smiles. He loves playing with all his friends human and dog. He goes in squeaky clean and comes out a hot mess. He'll sleep all the way home and through the night. Again I want to shout to the mountain tops that Troy and Stephanie have the best place in town. Their staff are mindful, concerted in their effort to take of all the dogs, their respectful with all their interactions during drop off. They work well together and it shows. You have stablished a great culture and it reflects. Thank you again for being here for all of us.

Wow. My husband and I took our beloved dog Sawyer here for his $25 evaluation. When we're driving in I noticed it was a industrial park with dozens of business. We arrived and this place was in the very back tucked in to a large hill. We got out of our car and were greeted by a pack of 20 barking dogs! It was scary. I know when dogs bark like that they are just bored and saying " get me out of here" and I could see why... The place looked like what a dog prison would be. It was gated and all cement everywhere. There was a cement pool in the middle filled with dirty water...a very sad looking place. When we went inside we were greeted with more barking insanity...I literally was beyond annoyed. I was recommended this place by a person I had just met, but she had told me that they have these weekly excursions for the dogs, fun spots that all dogs would enjoy. We were also looking for a place we could use for boarding him when we travel too. I couldn't leave this horrible place fast enough...the incessant barking was just horrible. I couldn't sleep at night if I ever left my precious dog here. What a waste of money! Prison!

After his first day - This was one tired Pup!

We looked at a few "Doggie Daycare" providers before selecting Adventure Pet. My German Shepherd, Marshall, is still enough of a puppy that he needs to get up and move. Being a former stray, he also needed to be around other dogs in a safe environment. Adventure Pet did not let us down. The staff was great, even accommodating his somewhat neurotic nature to make him feel safe and secure. At the end of day one, Marshall was completely worn out. He played HARD and had a great day. There are other places that are cheaper. But for the extra couple of dollars, they are the best value around. Thank you to the entire staff

This company is awesome. We had our dog in the day adventures and she loved it. We've also had our dog boarded a couple times now. Last time for 10 days at their base camp. She loves it. So excited when she sees where she is going. It's so nice to have a place we trust for our family member.

Shiloh waiting for the pack!

Ask the Community - Adventure Pet

Does Adventure Pet have a Veterans Discount and how much is it? Thank you.

Hi there, we have no special pricing options at this time. We base our prices on what fits the Reno/Sparks area and our prices are extremely competitive with other facilities.

My dogs are very senior and they take very good care of them. Even when one of my huskies passed away recently, they were so kind and considerate. I always recommend this place for my dog parent friends in south Reno. Overall review: This place is extremely easy to schedule a time for daycare or boarding. You can call online or the app. I've never had an issue trying to get a booking when calling ahead. The stay is extremely kind and nice when I check in/out. My dogs had never had an emergency or issue while they were there. Experiences: They have these cute little photo/treat sessions with all the holidays. They're great to have that some other dog daycares do, but are 2X-3X the price. I love bringing my dog in just for these. Pricing: I think they're in the middle of the road cost compared to other places I take my dogs too. I think it's a pretty standard fee. However, knowing my dogs are taken care of is a great peace of mind. Facility: It's always clean when I bring my dog in, other places we have been too are not this clean. They have cameras so you can use the app to check in on your dog. There is easy parking. This is by far the closest and best place for me living in South Reno - Damonte Ranch area for dog boarding and daycare!

Camp Bow Wow of South Reno is incredibly unprofessional. I would strongly recommend looking…read moreelsewhere for daycare and boarding. We went in for a tour which was provided by the owner. During the tour we discussed that our dog would be 7 months old during his stay (DOB Aug 19th 2025, making him 7 months old and 16 days at the start of the boarding on April 4th 2026). Their policy is that dogs over 7 months old must be fixed, so since we were right at that point, we wanted to see if he needed to be fixed. WE WERE TOLD HE DID NOT NEED TO BE FIXED DURING OUR TOUR WITH THE OWNER. Once he passed the evaluation, we made our reservation with the assistant manager and again confirmed that everything was acceptable with his age and intact state. AGAIN, WE WERE TOLD EVERYTHING WAS ACCEPTABLE AND ALLOWED TO MAKE THE RESERVATION. WE WERE ALSO TOLD THAT THE MANAGER HAD SIGNED OFF SINCE IT WAS ON THE CUSP OF THE AGE REQUIREMENT. After drop off, he was suddenly isolated for most of his stay with no communication via app, text, or phone, despite us opting into all alerts. We only discovered this by viewing the cameras. We saw him once on the camera, in a play pen, alone. No staff interacting with him, no dogs, nothing. He was pacing the side of the pen clearly upset. Heartbreaking. At pickup I asked what was going on with our dog. The manager replied that there were no issues. I asked again why he was separated and got the same answer. I asked a third time and pointed to the monitor in the lobby and asked why he was isolated and stated that he was clearly upset (at this point he was alone in a play pen pacing, which was currently on the monitors in the lobby). She looked at her computer and told me it was because he's not neutered and over the age requirement since he was over 8 months. I was in disbelief, especially since he was in fact 7 months old. We had checked and double checked that this would not be an issue and were reassured it would not be. After telling me there wasn't an issue, she then tried to say they were unaware of his age when they made the reservation, another blatant lie. The manager claimed our dog was over 8 months old and said they had to follow the "7-month rule" (even though he was) or they could get in "big trouble". I said this appeared to be an internal policy since other facilities had difference age requirements, including one in Spanish Springs which was 12 months. The manager then proceeded to tell me that that facility uses cattle prods on the dogs in their care, so good luck taking our dog there...the unprofessional nature of this manager was astounding. At this point I asked for partial refund since daycare (included in the boarding fee) was not provided. The manager said she had to call the owner. She came back and said that the owner said because he was over 8 months old it was our fault and we signed a waver. I expressed my displeasure with that response, and she said she'd go call again. The manager never came back and instead sent the assistant manager to collect the fee. I asked where the discount was and she said that I wasn't paying for daycare just boarding...? While I was paying the assistant manager kept saying they didn't isolate our dog and took great care of him. Ironically, during this discussion another staff member walked in and interjected herself into the conversation and said that we received a phone call when they decided to separate our dog (yet another lie). The assistant manager looked at the staff member and told her to stop talking. I tried to inquire about this supposed phone call and our dog being 'separated' and the assistant manager told me to be the bigger person and just leave. The treatment our dog received was unacceptable. The staff are unprofessional and dishonest. I strongly recommend going anywhere else. I wish I had taken the other negative reviews more seriously.

He was stuck at most of the weekdays…read moreand was indoors most of Saturday; so, I figured I owed him some fun time at his favorite play-place: On-Command. I dropped him off at half past ten and didn't pick him up until 3:30. I asked the gal at the front desk if he was able to play with anyone and she said yes, my pup pretty much played with every dog at daycare. When we got back home, it was apparent my pup had a blast because he was so mellow and low-key tired; he was fast asleep after dinner.

He had been acting out of sorts at daycare too. I expressed my worries to Heidi upon check in and she understood he was still going through a tough time without his buddy. She told me she would indicate that he was a special needs dog, who may need some extra care and attention. I really appreciated her going out of the way to put my mind at ease for our trip. I checked in a few days into our vacay and was told he was not eating like normal and asked if they could try some chicken broth and pumpkin to encourage him to eat. I told the staff on the phone that he had been more finicky with eating even with new wet foods. They would keep an eye on him and let me know if anything changed. I got a call from the staff the day before pick up and was told my dog hadn't eaten in two days but energy at daycare was normal. They offered to try and hand-feed him. When I picked him up, they said they were able to get him to eat some so he must've been getting lonely and wanted extra attention. I have really appreciate all of their staff's help in getting our dog adjusted to the loss of our other dog and for their support and understanding during his first solo stay. Thank you!
