DELICIOUS BBQ. i would like to write something poetic to do it some justice, but you know, we are gonna keep it simple. BIG PORTIONS JUSTIFIED PRICES DELICIOUS FOOD We had the big'un pork sandwich - the side of cole slaw and potato salad- (please imagine me screaming like a Drag Queen) ffffffaaaaaaaaaa bu looouuuusssss!!! the half chicken with the side of mashed potatoes and mac and cheese? (another drag queen scream please) hhhhuuuuuu mon gooouusssss!!!! i opted for the corn breads and asked for butter. it was the sweet corn bread kind and it was delicious! now, the mac and cheese although good, must have been the least thing i liked. I have always like my pasta al dente and I do believe theres a dash of nacho cheese used in this dish instead of the 'good' cheese, you know? HOWEVER, they definitely deserve all five stars. Even their sweet tea had me cussin DAMN (with a real country accent this time.) it was slammed when we were there but the service was slow. no tables around, so i helped clean a dirty table and just flagged down the buss boy. no big deal. this place definitely put our day trip on a good start that i was smiling all the way till I went to sleep. read more

Dry brisket and overly sweet sauces mar this BBQ / convenience store experience. I was finishing up a motorcycle ride and in search of some BBQ in the Jasper, GA area. Yelp had recent reviews for Biguns, and they all seemed rather positive. I made my way up 515 from Jasper and found a BBQ joint / Chevron station on a hill. Alrighty -- let's do this... Lost 1st star - Dry BBQ First thing I noticed about my 2-meat combo plate ($13 before drink) was the brisket. It was sliced and then further cut into smaller pieces. How quaint -- if I was 5 and didn't have a knife or the skills to use it, this would be useful. Sadly, the small bites only served to reveal dried out brisket with little or no fat content. The pork was also chopped, but thankfully the fat content was a little more forgiving. It wasn't the worst I've tasted, but it would win no awards while paired with the dry brisket bites. All of it would need rehydration using available sauces. Lost 2nd star - Meh sauces There are apparently 6-7 sauces for Biguns customers, but you will need to sit in a booth to get them in their special BBQ sauce transport carrier. I sat at a small 2-top so as to not displace a family during a crowded lunch. This meant I only had access to the standard sweet sauce. No room for the other 4-5 on these smaller tables, I guess. Kind of a bummer if you have to go around stealing other tables' sauces until you find one you like. The standard sweet sauce was ridiculously sweet. I taste tested it on some cornbread and felt my stomach lurch. Yuck. After wrangling one or two more bottles at abandoned tables, I settled on the tangy sauce -- it helped the dry BBQ but was pretty meh overall. Lost 3rd star - Disappointing sides Brunswick stew is a premium side? WTF? That was worth a star alone, but... The collard greens were bland and dry. The "tater" salad (because they tailored the name to local flavor?) was strangely mustardy and really kind of un-appetizing. Pepper and salt could not salvage either the greens or the "tater" salad, and I left most of them on the table. Earned 4th and 5th stars - Decent customer service and expediency The food was bad but service was quick and friendly. It was packed for a Saturday lunch and I still got my plate in a reasonable amount of time after ordering. I might give Biguns another try if I'm riding up in north GA and in need of gas and grub, but their BBQ has other challengers nearby. I'll be trying them before visiting Biguns again. read more

We decided to go here on a Wednesday night. I called to reserve a table for 9 just because other places in town were not very accommodating. Bigun's was more than accommodating and super super nice! I am so thankful we found this gem. Their food was pretty amazing too. The regular bbq sauce is absolutely delicious as well as the mustard sauce. I got the pork and brisket combo and I couldn't eat it fast enough. It was soooooooooo good!!! read more

Stopped here on way to N. Georgia mountains. The good: excellent pulled pork and ribs. Right off the road with lots of parking. Plenty of menu selections, decent prices. Staff very friendly and helpful. The bad: looking at ingredients on sauces, no way they are homemade. They charge $.49 for a cup of water. None of us liked any of the sides. We had green beans (overcooked) Mac n cheese (greasy and separated) cornbread (flat and dry), coleslaw (chopped into tiny bits and tasteless) and baked beans. Overall, if I lived here I'd get the meat to go and make other stuff myself. read more

This place was packed when we arrived for lunch on a Saturday. We immediately got in line and started to plan what to order, since the menu is pretty large for a BBQ joint. I decided on the BBQ pork baked potato & Brunswick stew, and the BF ordered the BBQ plate with green beans and lima beans. After finding a table, our meals were brought out to us a few minutes later. My BBQ potato was alright, but the pork seemed pretty bland to me (I like pork with a bold, smokey flavor). The Brunswick stew was alright, but nothing to write home about. I tasted the sides from the BBQ plate, and the green beans were overly salty and tasted like they were the typical canned green beans my mom would make when I was little. The lima beans were good - not overly mushy. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff was friendly, but overall the food was just ok. If you're in the area, this is a good place to grab an affordable bite to eat, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here. read more

This.is.it. This is the place. Ribs that'll make you slap your grandma in church. Fall off the bone ribs with a nice smoke ring. I ordered the qtr rack, which went down faster than a wet noodle. Thank you to the staff for a great meal and working while social distancing. All food was properly prepared. Tender pulled pork and a variety of sauces. Veggies were fresh. Tea was as it should be properly sweet. The fried apple pie is a must have item. In fact, plan your meal so you save room to eat a whole one. Food is excellent. Top favorite for sure. The smoked chicken is delicious, best fried okra around! Redneck lasagna is unique but so so amazing. I could keep naming things bc I've not found something bad yet. The staff are so nice and respectful, very helpful. Fantastic brisket sandwich. BBQ sauce is spot on. Really enjoyed every bite of the sandwich as the brisket melts in your mouth cooked to perfection! I have to give this place the props! I have tried many BBQ across the country and this one is very good. Let's start with great order taking followed by picking your drinks up at the counter. Food comes fast and hot. There is a good choice of sides to compliment the smoked meats. I personally favor the Tater Salad and Baked Beans with my pulled pork, brisket or even ribs. Several different sauces to season up the meats. Friendly Staff. One can't go wrong stopping here, just don't come after 3PM on Sunday (closed). read more

I really like this place. This may be my favorite southern style BBQ place in Georgia. They don't try to make it too complicated and the food seems to be prepared with care. I had the brisket and but tasted the pork and chicken. This bbq has nice char but it's moist and not like eating jerky. Several sauces to choose from and the sides are southern classics. The greens, mac & cheese, fried okra and mashed potatoes are all good. It's a must visit if you like quality bbq. read more

BBQ was ok, macaroni & cheese taste like a powder mix or canned cheese mix, Baked beans , if that is what you call them, not your baked beans. Frozen fried okra best off the plates, for two 33.00. The collards canned!!!! We got our food, had to keep asking for our drinks, 20 minutes later our order number was called for our drinks after our food. OH, we had been really hungry too!!! Don't recommend, unless you are use to, 2 star restaurant food. Sorry, but the truth over priced for the quality of food you get. We stopped here for a late lunch on our trip north and were pleasantly surprised! The staff were all very kind and the pulled pork was perfection. The inside is spacious, clean, and they even have outside dining, ordering and a drive through option. We ran across Bigun's while looking for places to eat around Blue Ridge and we were in for a surprise. We had a 3 meat plate. We did not understand the upcharge for the ribs, brisket and turkey but it was so worth it. We shared one plate and had enough food. The turkey was moist and flavorful as well as the brisket. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. We only live an hour and a half way and it will be on our places to spend a day. read more

AMAZING!! I was with a big group of about 50 people passing through the area. I had my hopes up due to good reviews on Yelp, but Bigun's Barbecue exceeded my expectations. We ordered full wracks of ribs and fries to share, and its juiciness was on the note and most people of the group were satisfied with the portion and the taste.
