    Western Burger & Fries
    Steve C.

First visit, I ordered the Western burger. This was a huge burger, and it did have a lot of flavor, however, the double stacked burgers themselves were very thin and overly crispy. My wife had the chicken tenders and they lacked much flavor other than tasting like old grease. Staff was friendly and efficient. They have a handful of tables for inside seating and they also have tables for outside seating. Even though this lunch fell a bit short, I would happy to give them a second try. Of course, you can also get fresh craft beer and wine to enjoy with your meal.

Smash burger with mushrooms and cheese - so freaking greasy

On vacation in the area and having dinner in an old train sounded cool so we came here. The weather was great out and a band was about to start playing so we decided to eat outside by a train rather than inside in the train. We were two of about seven people in the seating area yet these guys still plugged in speakers and essentially blasted us out of the seating area. As soon as our food arrived, we moved to a different spot cuz it was so effing loud. It was ridiculous - more folks showed up for dinner and nobody was sitting over there because it was just too loud. As for the food, the fries were good. The first bite of my smash burger was good but it was a struggle to keep it together. By the third bite, it was getting messy. Maybe that's how smash burgers are supposed to be - I don't know, it was the first one I ever had. I had to gave up after about five bites because it was so greasy. I don't know if it's the meat used, added butter/oil while cooking, the cheese, whatever but I don't have a gallbladder and I was very sick the next day. If all smash burgers are that greasy, I guess I am never ever getting one again. Gross.

The pretzel bites, train wreck, and bourgeois burgers.

So this is a neat little burger joint nestled outside the hustle and bustle in the quaint town of Talking Rock. While maps have you pull off 136 at what appears to have been a restaurant at one point and is permanently shut down, it is actually past the park and around the corner on the left. The burgers are all doubles with gourmet twists on each one. Nice staff and beautiful porch seating although half will have you baking in the sun. Good food!

We took a little road trip on a Saturday morning to Talking Rock and was happy to see this recently opened restaurant. Really cool place to stop and hangout during a mountain drive. Brewery is next door and a few shopping options across the street. The people there were all super nice and friendly. We had the smash burger and chicken salad. Both were really good. We will go back again because we want to try some of the other offerings.

Probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. Quick service too. The booth options to dine in the drain are also pretty neat

The added bonus is that we were allowed to bring food because they are limited in their offerings. We were able to bring the wedding cake supplied by Alpines bakery in Woodstock. Check for yourself it's. Beautiful view of the valley and a great conversational piece with the house situated across the way. We are also entertained by live music of some country and rock. Over all a good day to wine!

Chardonnay they included was described perfectly- buttery and light. That was very tasty! The syrah and the merlot/cab blend my wife and I were not a fan of. The red blend is their best seller, which left us both a little disappointed actually. FOR PARENTS: Beyond the wine, we have read that this place is kid friendly and we would disagree. It on a hill so there isn't space for them to run around and have fun while parents can enjoy their drinks. We read that there are goats for kids to interact with but there was 1 goat and not a lot of activity. We were expecting a lot of space for our kids to explore and this was not it.

There are kids books near the fireplace as well, in the indoor seating area, full of windows and ample seating overlooking the gorgeous views. We sat on the elevated screened porch (which has a beautiful view of the vineyards) with a few wine flights and our pup. We played Uno with our kids for a bit and then they tossed a baseball down in the grass below. It was a relaxing, tech free day with no complaints for anyone. Loved it. It is clearly a go-to spot for locals, as there were many people conducting remote work from the space as well. I think it's telling that people feel "at home" here. Regarding the wine, we had great recommendations from the owner and liked all that we sampled. My husband's favorite was the Chardonnay and mine the house Riesling, which we purchased a bottle of to bring home.

It's not super easy to find! Dahlonega has lots of interesting twists and turns and back alley shops and some shops blended in so well with other places, that a random door opens up to more unique experiences. So, that's how we found this place. We were waiting to get our names in for Bourbon Street Grille, and this random door behind us boasted wine tasting. I thought it was just a one room deal behind us. When you see the door and the shop, you'll fully understand. If you like wine, this is worth it and a MUCH better deal than the Wine Festival (which is what we came for). It's not a big place and technically only has about 8 seats at the bar for tasting. Thankfully, it seemed all the festival goers didn't know about this place (bc it's totally a Harry Potter hidden type of deal) so we got 4 seats. The kids roamed around the shop while we tried wine. The flights are $12/$16 based off the wines you want. They have white, red, blended and rose. Oh, check in on Yelp and receive one free taste of any wine (I used mine)!!! I did the Rose, Merlot, Vidal Blanc, Pinot Grigio, and the Petit Manseng. Loved the Merlot (had a spicy after taste) the most! Then the Pinot Grigio. The Petit Manseng is their strongest wine but was my least favorite. However, I tasted the Trillium from someone else's in our group and LOVED IT. We ended up buying a bottle of Mtn Harvest Red plus the Apfelwein (the lady described it so well and made us want to get a bottle). I can honestly say I had such a buzz from the flight that I stopped drinking when we went to go eat. The wine was really good and certainly hit, so be careful! Totally worth checking this place out, if you can find it!!!
