Overall pretty good Indian fare, but I wanted a bit more seasoning in the chicken curries. We ordered two of our standby dishes: chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. Both renditions were good and we liked their flavor but wanted more. A bit too tomato-forward for my taste. The naan was nicely baked but they put both the butter and garlic naans together in the same foil packet. Not an issue for us but some may want to be aware. We also liked the gulab jamun. Good condensed milk flavor.

I've been to a number of Indian restaurants in the Omaha area, but my wife and I found this place when they first opened and it has become one of my favorite restaurants in town. I Normally judge an Indian restaurant by their butter chicken and their chicken tikki, which are both quite delicious at this establishment, but they have so many other things I want to try. I've really enjoyed their selection of Biryanis, dishes that are cooked in a clay pot over rice, so the rice gets the same flavors as the spices used for seasoning the dish itself. The portions are larger than what I can typically handle, which is saying a lot. Great value for your money. I have been pleasantly surprised each visit, being asked what spice level I would like, mild, medium, or spicy... I have choosen medium for the dishes I have ordered, but it may be a bit on the hotter side, and i have thought each time after eating, that I probably should order my dish mild next time.... i haven't remembered yet, eventhough i keep thinking it. I would probably die if I ordered it spicy, instead of medium. Lol The service is top notch. Everyone is friendly and eager to make sure your experience is superior to any other. They truly want you to enjoy your meal and your time in their establishment. The ambience is not romantic, but it's certainly clean, and tastefully arranged. They have booths and tables, to accommodate small or larger groups. If you like Indian cuisine, i would highly recommend trying this place out.... But be warned, once you enter you may not want to leave and your will certainly be back.

I was pretty sad about Sea Thai closing, but was less disappointed to learn that an Indian place was taking over. I learned from my neighbors that Bawarchi is a chain and a very tasty, consistent one at that. It had taken me forever to get here, but finally had the chance this past Monday. 1. Service is friendly and timed pretty well. We had a mix of two servers and they both had great recommendations for appetizers, entrees, and dessert. 2. The prices were fair. 3. The food was phenomenal. The female waitress recommended Chicken Biryani 65 and it might just be my new favorite dish. My friend got the Chicken Korma and while good, I liked mine a bit better. Get the garlic naan, yes please. Some areas of improvement: 1. You definitely don't come for the bathroom. Somehow it smelled of a hotel pool area (could be worse) and was part bathroom, part storage room. Maybe they forgot to do anything with this when they took over the location? 2. Waters were full but no plates were cleared even after it was clear we were done. The dirty dishes stayed at the table until the bitter end. Overall, so good! Would probably do takeout next time :)

I enjoy eating here! They will tailor your spice level, even more than usual like if you have been in the hospital. We got 5 dishes this time and each one was different, tasty and hot (temp). We also got garlic naan. Ordering drinks has a catch- each glass is $4, so if you order iced tea each refill counts as a new glass. Another great thing about the restaurant is a majority of the patrons are Indian, which is an awesome sign of good food! We ordered paneer butter masala, hyderabad curry chicken, chicken korma, fried rice, Chicken malai kabab, garlic naan and an apricot cream dessert. Enjoy!

Really enjoyed this new restaurant! Every bite was delicious! Favs for me were the Chicken 65, the naan, and the golab Jamun. My husband really enjoyed the spicy Gongura Chicken. Only negative was the plastic plates and silverware, a bit unexpected in a sit down restaurant, but perhaps that is because they are newly opened? Will definitely be back, we look forward to exploring the menu!

Liberally coated in the spices, the flavor is deep with a hint of caramelization where the sleight char marks are. 2 things: I always like to squeeze a lemon or lime where on mine, so I asked for one. Its citrusy brightness augments the spices. Second, next time I'll ask for more onion to be on the sizzling platter. I love those (similar idea to onions on a fajita platter). Bill went with Vindaloo at the hot level and demolished it. Remembering their dedicated dairy chef, I ordered a mango lassi. Heaven. Silky with sweet blended mangoes, the yoghurt has a satisfying, contrasting tang. Slurped it dry. We also went with Ras malai for dessert. The dairy chef makes his own cheese patties and then they soak and lounge in reduced milk with cardamom and pistachios. Perfect end. Note: they are serious about the heat levels. Go mild if you doing not want much heat.

I was seriously craving Indian food while visiting Omaha during Memorial Day weekend, and luckily,…read moreKarnali was the only Indian restaurant open nearby that day. We reached the restaurant around 3:30 - 4 PM for a late lunch, and there were a few people dining inside. The restaurant was very clean, the tables were well arranged, and the Indian music playing in the background gave the place a nice cozy vibe. We started with the tandoori chicken and then ordered garlic naan, butter chicken, and two chais for the main meal. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, but it was different from the typical restaurant-style tandoori chicken. It tasted more homemade with regular spices, without the bright red color or smoky restaurant flavor. Still, it was really good. The best part of the meal was actually the sauce served with the chicken. It tasted like a spicy tomato-onion gravy, almost similar to butter chicken sauce, and honestly, I wish the butter chicken we took later had been cooked in that same sauce because it was delicious. The butter chicken was tasty overall - rich and creamy, though the garlic naan could have been better. The naan felt a little too dry and could have used more butter. The chai at the end was ok because it had a bit too much spice and tasted more milky than tea. The service was decent as well. The server was friendly, but while taking our order he wasn't writing anything down and had to ask us to repeat a few things, so that was a little awkward. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, which was pretty quick. One thing to note is that we had to place the chai order along with the food because the server mentioned it takes around 15 minutes or more to prepare. I did feel that the pricing was slightly higher compared to the quality and portion sizes. The tandoori chicken was around $17 ,the butter chicken was about $19 and the Naans $4 each and chais were around $4 each, so the total came close to $55 + w tax or more. Personally, I don't think the food completely matched the pricing and was mediocre. Overall, I had a decent experience and really appreciate that they were open on Memorial Day because they definitely satisfied my Indian food craving. I would definitely recommend trying the tandoori chicken appetizer, especially with the sauce they serve alongside it. I would give the restaurant a solid 3 out of 5 stars.

It was a Thursday evening and not very busy. Only two other tables when we were there which really surprised me after tasting the food. They started out with the complimentary papadam with two different sauces a mint chutney and a brown sauce not sure what it is but both great. We started off with the naan bread basket and an another garlic cheese naan definitely didn't need more than the bread basket was a very large portion to split. All were very tasty the garlic was my favorite. I had the Karnali combo biryani which was awesome had the right heat I asked for spice wise and good amount of all the different meats. My wife got the mango masala which she really enjoyed and isn't always the biggest Indian food fan but she ate hers and ate the leftovers the next day as well. My aunt had chicken korma which she raved about as well. My mother tried the malai kofta she had only tried Indian food once many years ago and this experience confirmed she's not a fan and has a bad taste palette haha. I really enjoyed this dish as well and was happy to have the leftovers the next couple days. We ordered her some chicken tenders from the kids menu but those also had some seasonings more cumin I'd say and others that she didn't enjoy but our 14 month old really enjoyed. So if you have a very picky eater maybe go with one of the other kids options. The white creamy sauce that came with my biryani was also bursting with flavor and had a great cooling sensation. The man who served our table was very friendly and even played peek a boo with our baby from the register area. Place had a nice vibe and was very clean bathrooms included. Definitely will be back and you should go check out this spot!
