Pretty disappointed - needed a spoke repaired during a visit from Baltimore. Never got a call back. Called after a week, was told it was done and had to drive back down to pick it up. The owner and staff rock. I am a newbie triathlete, and even though I didn't purchase my bike there, I have bought other items (pump, tires, sunglasses, pedals, cycling shoes, etc.). They always go above and beyond, and educate me on important aspects of cycling each time I am in the store. They even showed me how to set up my bike on a new indoor trainer. I have been to several bike doctors in the past, but Bike Doc Kent Island is the best in my opinion. read more

Excellent customer service!! I recently drove over to Kent Island to ride my bike on the cross island trail. On the way my bike seat post was damaged by the bike carrier. We stopped at the bike doctor to see if it could be fixed. The seat post needed to be replaced but they didn't have the correct size. So they did a temporary fix allowing me to enjoy my bike ride and they didn't charge me a thing! read more

Bike Doctor on Kent Island does a good job on bicycle repairs but I have found their sales of bikes to be below par. It is very cramped location and very difficult to see the bikes. Also, their prices are on the high side; even higher than other Bike Doctor stores in a 25 mile radius. My most recent experience of bicycle shopping was one of employees who were not really concerned if I bought a bike or not. They even seemed annoyed that we were there or asking any questions. We ended buying a bicycle at the Bike Doctor in Arnold, MD. In short, I would recommend for bicycle repairs, but not sales; especially children's bikes. read more

Met with two salesmen on Tuesday evening (03/16/2021) and looked at purchasing a bicycle for my wife. Given her small stature (4''11"), it was suggested not making the purchase without having her there to make sure the bike fits my wife comfortably, as they would not be able to refund the money if she had not been comfortable on the bike. Understandable. I returned on Saturday, spoke to a different salesman, as the other two were busy with other costumers. When I mentioned that I had already been there and the cost had been already quoted and had a sticker on the bike with the price quoted and matching description, the salesman said "That price is wrong. That bike is about $200.00 more than what is it shown on the sticker and more than what I was told." I pointed out the bike and the sticker showing the price. The salesman quickly reached over and removed the sticker saying he is not selling this bike for that price. That someone must have made a mistake. The other bike I looked at had hydraulic disk brakes versus cable disk like the one I was looking at purchasing. It was just over $200.00 more than the one I was looking to purchase. So was it too incorrectly marked. Well I decided to walk.......walk out. Certainly voicing my opinion as I left of the fact it was wrong what he did. Given my own mountain bike is 20 years old, he potentially lost the sale of maybe even a second bike, as I was thinking of purchasing a matching bike to fit myself. As I called back to speak to the gentleman who quoted the price on Tuesday, He said that it was an honest mistake. But it was what he added to that which I am concerned about. And that was "That bike was from the last shipment of bikes and the prices from the manufacturer had increased dramatically." So in other words, the price advertised was correct because this bike was from past inventory. However now we are not going to sell it for that price because when he orders new shipment, the prices have increased. So in other words let's gouge the public now due to covid and the demand for bicycles? That is the vibe I got from this whole transaction. The right thing to do was to sell the bike for the price advertised/quoted. As a business, even if you had taken a loss (which by the sounds of it you would NOT have), it is word of mouth that brings back repeat customers. Hence I will NOT return to your store, BIKE DOCTOR. I am very dissatisfied on how this transaction was handled. It was not about the money........it was about the principle! I will never step back into BIKE DOCTOR ever again. Bad way to do business. Seems I have to select a star for a rating.....BIKE DOCTOR deserves NO STARS for this review. But I am forced to give one star or i cannot give my review. Robert H.
