Upon arriving, it is extremely welcoming. Everyone in the shop is on the same mission to help, repair and ride. they literally have every component that you can possibly think of to put together a bicycle. I love coming here to fix my bike, not only because of how well structured the place is set up making it really easy to find everything that you need and all of the tools necessary to build. But the staff is very knowledgeable which makes it 10 times better I love coming here occasionally just to check out different parts that I could swap and add to my build as they receive a lot of donations and their prices are really good. read more

Very cool shop. I bought a bike off marketplace and within a couple weeks it got a flat. Not only did they help me change the tire they showed me all the parts of the bike so now I can do maintenance myself. (It's been years since I changed a bike tire) read more

Dear Board members & Nicole M.: It is Sunday, Nov 30th and I have just walked out of your co-op after bicycling into the city from the northern reaches of Phx in order to volunteer this week, work on my bike, and buy some much needed used parts. I have walked out without accomplishing any of those things because George, yet again, demonstrated how disrespectful he can be and how lacking in people skills he is. Last spring when I was in several times, it was like juggling personalities with him. Today, I arrived 5 minutes before noon, the first to arrive. Moments later, a guy on a bike arrived. Then a few others. After the door opened and the volunteers set about, I walked in and waited at the counter. (I thought they were finished with opening tasks.) The guy was waiting behind me while others dispersed. I heard someone call out that it would be a couple of minutes before they were ready to help us. Minutes later, an old man who had arrived after all of us and squeezed inside, returned to the front with parts and George rang him up. I stood there in disbelief - George knew there were customers waiting for help at the entrance/counter. I almost felt like George was permitting this old guy to cut in front of us so he could postpone giving service. Once he was finished I stepped up to the counter and started to speak when George said something that I didn't catch. I asked him, "What?" and he replied, "How can I help?" I replied in a friendly way, "I'm going to tell you." Apparently this response was not to his liking and he made an exasperated sound and turned his head away with a rude expression. How utterly disrespectful! I gave him a disdainful look and then walked back outside to leave. There was/is/will never be any way I'd give any business my money, time, energy no matter how badly I need smthg! I know I'm not the only person who wonders how George has retained his employment there. Must be great to have job security while being rude to others; Safeway would love to employ him! You have lost me as a customer, along with my money and word-of-mouth advertising. I don't appreciate wasting my money, time, energy and a hell of a lot of sweat biking so far thru this non-bike friendly city and burbs to be treated like that. I get crapped on enough for riding a bike, I don't need it from a bike shop! read more

Great place to donate unwanted bicycles and they put them to good use. They were helpful and very courteous.

I was very easy to donate our bikes to Bike Saviours. A volunteer met us as the door, thanked us for our donations, took the bike out of our car, and offered us a tax receipt. I'm happy the bikes will go to a good cause. read more

Everyone that works here is volunteering their time to put together various types of bicycles for people in need. The Volunteers we interacted with were great as we decided to drop off an intact bike that my son outgrew. We also dropped off some other key components to aid in building other bikes. read more

So I went to bike saviors last night like I always do. I spend money there yes I'm homeless and they have become very very judgmental on the homeless. So George tells me he has something to talk to me about and I had a feeling it was about the review that I gave about another employee that treats me horribly when I come in there. I am a US Navy veteran with tires to Operation Desert Storm. I don't think as a person and especially a IS Vet 60 years old that I deserve to go into a place of business where I spend my money and not make a scene. I don't steal I don't yell I don't cause scenes outside I'm perfect patron that I have to be treated like I'm less than nothing. Ignored and laughed atby a certain employee. So I got told I'm not allowed to go to bike saviors anymore because I'm drama. I'm drama I never started any drama I act accordingly but I don't think that I have to put up with someone treating me like a piece of dirt because I'm homeless that doesn't make drama. I have never once said anything inside that place or outside or cause to see for this to happen to me. So this just leads me to believe that these people are definitely taking a stand against homeless people and don't want them in their establishment. Why I say that is because I talk to several other homeless people who are now not allowed to go to bike saviors either for very ridiculous reasons. So for these incidences I would not ever go back to that place even if they allow it. They absolutely do not have the human kindness or caring this of people in the community. Especially one who volunteered to go and protect our country, for them their families everyone's families because that was my calling. As I was leaving I told George I would get a hold of the Attorney general and he screams across the room WHAT challenging me for my comment. Totally uncalled for. Everybody's attention on me now like look at this disrespectful person everyone. Putting it out there like I just did it acted awful and he was reorganizing me. I ask to pay for my items and again in a very nasty and degrading voice says"just take then and go" Doesn't make any sense my feelings are definitely hurt because I have never acted anything but respectful in that atmosphere while their employee treats me like complete dirt and can laugh at me and talk about me and ignore me for my business and they all support it very sad. This world is going to .... in a handbasket. It's very distressing to find out that people that run a nonprofit organization really just don't even care about what their main goal was in the first place. We are All God's children and none of us should be treated any differently. I am through letting people step on me and telling me that I don't have the right to my opinion and tell me that they're going to cut me off like it's going to hurt me just because I have an opinion that's different. When I've been completely respectful and they have been disrespectful. I believe that the community needs to know what kind of people run this business so they know what they're getting into when they go there. If people don't care then keep going there this is why the world is going the way it's going because we don't stand up for each other. read more

I purchased a bike here for a person who needed one to ride to a new job. The staff was helpful and friendly. This is a unique charity that helps people learn to fix their own bikes. They have a large quantity of used bikes. Check their hours closely, as they dedicate some to only helping with repairs as opposed to selling bikes or parts. read more

I did the build a bike program and they really did a great job teaching and guiding me toward the right bike. Been here twice and am very happy to report the vibe and volunteers working here are some of the nicest people. I've had help wrapping a handle bar, installing a front brake, and replacing pedals. A wonderful self -esteem booster and very economical if you want to go a step up from changing a flat or handlebar grips. The staff (Shawn, Brandon, et al) was very helpful in walking me through the process of adjusting a wobbly back tire by taking it apart, greasing up the hub adding a few more bearinga and putting it back together. Getting that wheel alignment was another matter, but oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day. Getting my hands extremely filthy was fun and now my bike rides as smooth as silk . For $12 it's awesome. I will come back to do more adjustments and possibly build my own bike. Update 11/19 : some older guy walked up to me with a patronizing look asking how simple it was to install a bike rack; I kept working as if he wasn't there. how can one mess up using a 1/4 inch Phillips screwdriver? sheesh. read more

Great place! Not mechanically inclined, but these guys have helped me rebuild both my hubs. This is truly a unique place, with a great team. I visit Phoenix monthly and make it a point to stop by and tinker with my bike when in town. Each time I learn about my bike, how it works, which helps me ride better. Also, the cost is amazingly inexpensive. They have new and used parts as well. Can't say enough good things about the place. read more

I had a very good experience here. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Some more than others, but overall very helpful and patient. You not only can fix your bike here but learn while doing it. All of this at a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere. There were a couple of things they couldn't help with because my bike is a little on the "high-end", but they knew (and had equipment) to fix almost everything (even on my bike). Went in with a flat tire and had no idea i was about to learn how to change it myself, in fifteen minutes, at no charge. Of course i left tip in the jar, but there was absolutely no pressure to. They seem to genuinely want and enjoy helping people learn about bikes and becoming more self sufficient. I have since changed two other tires without guidance. wow is all I can say. Ive been going to this well kept secret for about 3 years. The prices are fantastic, the people there are very nice and helpful to those that need help in fixing a bike. I hesitate to give them 5 stars, because then everyone will go there and my secret cheap parts place will not be a secret anymore!!!! they have everything from soup to nuts for your bike. from low end to high end and everywhere in between. Great place with the tools and experience to fix your own bike! I ended up with a broken spoke on my bike I shipped out for vacation, needless to say I was no looking forward to paying a bike shop when I am able to do it myself. The shop has bike stands, wheel truing stands, and a descent amount of parts. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you are willing and able to do your own work this is the place for you, but it's NOT a full service bike shop, so don't expect full service. I wish there where places like this where I come from as I would definitely patronize them. read more

I recently visited this non profit bike shop for the second time and it was a horrible experience again! I went in with 2 bikes thinking that I could use parts off of one to update the other. I was the only person there and not only did I get no help, I got ripped off. My one bike simply needed a shifter, a repair that should take no more than 30 minutes. I was there for 2 hours and left without it being fixed. My second bike only needed a rear derailleur hanger bolt. Instead of helping me, Mr. know it all Alex stripped my one bike to steal the parts and couldn't even help me find a screw for the shifter I was trying to replace. I got so mad that I returned the next day to get the bike they pillaged back and to speak with the owner Patrick. He called me a liar. This place is the absolute worst! If you need to fix your own bike, look on Youtube to find out how and if you need a used part you can go here as a last resort and maybe find what you need but don't expect any help. I had 2 very nice bikes that were stolen and didn't have the money to buy another one right now so I wanted to fix my old bike from 1990 until I could buy another better one. I hate this place and I will never return! read more
