They have a nice selection of electric, road, mountain, hybrid, gravel, and even kids bikes. They also have in house maintenance and repair services. When you buy a new bike from Global Bike, you have the option of purchasing a service for life contract for around $90. I called ahead to see if they had 2 tires that I needed for my road bike. I managed to get the last 2 of that size at my price point. They are practicing social distancing by limiting people in the stores but have a table set up for help when you first arrive. If you have no choice, they can fix your flats, but they do have a few days turn around so keep that in mind. read more

I purchased my bike here years ago, and my family members have also purchased bikes and their children's bikes here. First, their customer service is great! They all are very knowledgeable about the various types of bikes and brands, helping find which is best for the type of biking activities you plan on doing. They sell a wide array of bike types, from mountain bikes to e-bikes to cruisers. If you sign up for their email listserv, they send out promotions occasionally for discounts on past season bikes. Second, they have a great repair shop. If you purchase a bike from them, they include "free service for life." This includes: -Brake inspection and adjustments -Derailleur inspection and adjustments -Headset and bottom bracket inspection and adjustments -Wheel hub adjustments -Minor wheel truing -Tire inspection and inflation -Chain inspection, cleaned and lubed I think that's an amazing offer and something you don't come by from many bike stores! I've always had great customer service by them and cannot recommend them enough. I'm not sure how they're operating right now, but I went to visit them in September 2020. They had someone outside that would take your bike that needed work-up and gave you a tag/receipt for when you came back to pick it up. Everyone was outdoors in line and they tried to make sure you were spaced roughly 6 feet apart. BUYER WARNING: DO NOT BUY EBIKE FROM THESE GUYS ARE YOU WILL BE SORRY! They sold me two high-end ebike that cost 10K together however, they have NO idea how to work on the "ebike" they sell! Their "Mesa" location as they call it their "ebike shop" has no mechanic that know how to work on their ebike they sold me, a gazelle ebike. If you plan on spending $1,000+ of dollars with Global Bikes, and want to have your bike worked on, just know they dont have the right SKILLS Mechanics/works required to work on your ebike that include Warranty work. Plus because of lack of skills, they damage my bike in 2 place, while "trying to fix" the bike. (my bike still new with only 3 month old) Now I am in hard place without support and can not truth Global bike any more without damage my bike more. read more

Few key words: Poor customer service. All I needed was a tube for a bicycle tire. They asked what I needed and I said I need a tube. They asked what size. I said the diameter of the tire is 26" and the rims are 22.5". The worker said, "I don't know what that means." I said can I take a look. He said, "No." Seriously. You work at a bike shop and you dont know what that means??? The diameter of the tire is the size. And this was after making me sit and wait for 20 minutes. They should have told me from the very beginning that they don't know how to determine the tube size. Hard to believe this is how they do business. I then went to Walmart and got a 26" replacement tube, no problem. read more

I love this place. They are such professionals that love what they do. Their service is excellent and their customer service is even better. I've been a customer for about 15 years. Have bought a couple of road bikes and last year graduated to an Bike. This is my most favorite of all my bikes! I found the employees at this location to be much for engaging, friendly, and knowledgeable. I had a good discussion with one of guys who worked there about the specifics of different models of Specialized Sirrus models. The difference in the quality and function of components and how that will have an impact of ride quality and durability. In the end I did not purchase a bike from them but I did appericate the candor and would recommend them to someone in the market for a turn-key bike. I came to Phoenix for work a bit earlier than intended and was able to rent a bike same day and get out on the trail in under an hour. I'm renting again from here next weekend to get out on the trails with confidence on one of their bikes. Renting was easy enough, though their app is a little finicky and hard to use. Once you're out on the trails though you forget about all of that. The only downside I think would be the price for the rental time. To get to any worthwhile trails you need to rent at least two days or else you'll find yourself short timing your ride to make sure you return the bike the same day before they close so early. Either way, whenever I'm in Phoenix I'll be renting from here. Super friendly and helpful staff. read more

I bought a Specialized Sirrus X last year from Global and have had a couple of issues with the bike that have needed the attention of the Ray Road staff. They have taken care of the problems under warranty and also tuned the bike for free under their free tune-ups for life program all while being extremely helpful, professional and willing to fix minor issues while I've waited. These guys know their stuff without being the bike snob-types that you usually run into at some shops. I recommend Global bikes and this location highly. read more

Global Bikes is awesome! My dumb little cruiser bike had wheels that had seen better days and finally busted one fateful day on a ride to (surprise surprise) get food. Thankfully, I was headed toward Global Bikes anyway and knew it was time to get help. I received such friendly and fantastic service and feel really lucky this shop is nearby. They were able to replace my tires on the spot with ones that are leagues better, as well as answered a lot of my uninformed questions on bike and tire maintenance. They also seemed to adjust some things like my wonky seat and steering, which now feels much sturdier and safer than before. My bike now rides like a summer breeze, the difference is night and day. The only potential downside is- I probably don't burn as many calories since now I don't have to pedal my ass off like I did on the old wonky flat tires. SIGH Thanks so much Global Bikes!! read more

So I have patronized this shop before since I frequent the Whole Foods and the pet shop in the plaza and thought nothing bad about them until today when during a pandemic they are out there in front of the store with a fairly large group of people. I understand you gotta make some money but damn, is risking your life and the lives of the customers worth it? Am I missing something? The worst customer service I've experienced this month and that's saying something as I'm always at a store. I walked in, was not greeted, was not asked if I was looking for something which I was. The guy who worked there just continued a conversation he was having with someone else, like I wasn't even there. But that didn't stop him from looking at me look around the store for what I went there for. My Specialized MTB saddle finally gave out after 10 years. Tried a WTB brand from Performance bike but the railings prevented the seat from going back far enough. At the Ray & 101 Global store Tim double checked the saddle size I needed using the Specialized tool that showed the hip bone placement and then recommended a couple of possible choices. Those choices were on bikes in the store so he let me try those to find the best. Though not at his store, he called the Ray & 36th store to be sure they had it in stock. Now I know that a lot of sales people would just push a solution and be done with it, but I appreciated the help and concern to make my long Sunday climbs up South Mountain consistently rewarding. After all, years have gone into tweaking the bicycle adjustments and selecting the best tires, pressures and grips. A good saddle is just part of that process. read more

I'm a real cheapskate when it comes to owning and repairing my own bikes. I came in to buy some bearings for a fixer upper and the guy at the repair center just handed me the bearing container and said grab what you need. I offered to pay and he comp'd me on them. Another time I came in to buy brake mounting bolt and another guy told me to sort through the used bolt box and grab one. I offered to pay for it and he told me no problem. How do these people stay in business? By not nickel and diming I guess. I plan on buying more stuff (if they'll let me haha) from this great bike shop. I was expecting them to not help me because I don't bring in high-end bikes that I usually work on myself. Keep up the great customer service! I purchased a Specialized Epic from Global Bikes in Gilbert approximately 3 years ago. While I know I'm not leaving the review for the Gilbert location, my initial experience was not great. For spending over $2,000 on a bike the shop was not all that friendly, even dealing with the owner. The Ray Rd shop is closest to my house. If it was not for John, I would be giving this shop 1 star. The staff is not friendly and they're constantly out of parts. On two separate occasions, they were out of the Specialized tires I was in need of. On one occasion, I went to the shop for tips on seating my tubeless tire. I brought my own stans and wasn't thinking it would be a problem. The technician was incredibly rude, made me stand far away behind a yellow line and said he was giving me a break by not charging $15 to change my tire. $15?? Big freaking deal! I would have gladly paid $15 for a friendly person to show me how to seat my tire. In all fairness, I've visited the Global bikes in Ahwatukee and south Chandler. Both shops were friendlier than the Chandler location. My advice, give John a raise and change management. I recently bought a new bike at another shop. Glad to give my business to a friendlier place. read more

We met them on a charity bike ride. My bike had not been working, even though "fixed" by my local bike shop multiple times. The guy stopped his car, got out, turned my bike upside-down, and fixed it in maybe 2 seconds. For real. For free. This was in March, and it's now September, and it's still fixed! We just went to buy my growing son a new bike for his birthday. He helped him choose from various ones and explained to me pros and cons, and even checked to see if his favorite color was available for order. The aforementioned "bike shop" would not have done this for me. They were grumpy people and barely spoke. The friendly ones who actually were helpful there didn't last long. I'm so glad we found Global Bikes on that bikeride. Mark even took my son outside and helped him ride down the (wide) sidewalk and back to try it out. FYI if you buy a bike from them, tune-ups are free for life for that bike. read more

We've taken our bikes here(all 4 of them) for something or another over the past year. They have always been very knowledgeable regarding their services/parts and options for repairs. I had them tune up and fix an old 70's Murray that had been hanging in my parents garage for the last 15 years. They were awesome and very detailed. They even ordered the white walls that were on the bike originally. From minor tire repairs, tune ups and complete make-overs, they do a fantastic job. They call when the bikes are done and even repaired a tire while I waited in the store(5mins). Definitely nice to have a professional shop I can trust with my bikes. Oh and their bike classes are also a big plus. I haven't been in a while but their beginner mountain biking classes on Tuesdays were a BLAST!
