I made an appointment on very short notice to bring in my Cadillac Escalade for a full detail. The guys there checked me in at 8 am. sharp and told me they would have it done by early afternoon. They not only had it ready, but delivered it to my work upon completion. These guys go over and above what I expected from a detail shop. The car came out beautiful. When they dropped it with me, they went over details that I didn't even notice. They gave me recommendations for follow up visits and what could be done to better bring out the shine in the paint. The exterior It looks pretty good but I expected more attention to "detail" from an auto detailing business. The vehicle was returned with a filthy "dead pedal" and no sign of anyone even opening the gas door to wipe it down. Telltale signs of either a lack of training, laziness or just poor workmanship. I just had my car ceramic coated here. Not only do they charge about half as much as I could find anywhere else in the Bay Area, but they did a spectacular job! I gave them a jar of matching touch-up paint and they took care of several paint scratches for free. I can not even see where the scratches were. They also included cleaning up the interior for no extra charge. My car actually does have a mirror finish and repels water and dirt. It looks way better than it did when it was brand new off the dealer's lot. They get the highest rating of any I've ever given on Yelp! Excellent work. read more

Bottom line: not nearly as good as when Bill was running it, but it's OK if you look at it as a decent car wash rather than a proper detailer. Long story: took my sports car here. It had been through a long trip during a very rainy weekend so it was very dirty and had some significant hard water marks. The end result of their full in and out detail was "meh" at best; they did clean the car but a few problems remained: - they couldn't take out the hard water marks on the horizontal surfaces of the car; worse, they claimed that they tried a polisher but because the "minerals are through the paint" the area needed to be repainted. That's BS; I was able to use my own polisher and remove them in 1 hour at home - there was wax residue on several seams in the car - they used a very shiny product on the leather interior. We are talking proper real leather here, so that was definitely the wrong product Other than that it was OK. Given how dirty the car was, and that they didn't add paint swirls, it was an OK first step before I finished the job for them myself (an hour with the polisher plus an hour using swabs soaked in alcohol to remove the wax in the seams). Also: they are very inexpensive for a full detail. So I guess you get what you pay for. read more

I've been to Bill Botts twice now in the last year, with my 2015 Toyota minivan and every time the car looks amazing. I'm not great at keeping it clean but each time, the guys at BBMFAD have used clay and wax to restore the paint to like-new, and they take care of the interior, windows and rims, as well. Everyone who works there is kind and friendly, too. It's a great shop, great service, great experience, and totally reasonably priced for the quality provided. read more

Based on these Yelp reviews, I decided to have Bill detail my beloved Porsche. Its a dark blue, so every scratch, ding and piece of dust shows up. I wanted to have a full exterior detail, clay bar, touch up paint to get the car ready to sell. Bill did an amazing job. Buffed out some micro scratched, touched up, and the car looks great. I brought some touch up paint that didnt work so well, so Bill offered to touch it up again if I got dealer paint, which I did. Bill's real nice and professional and prices are very reasonable. Just had my car detailed for re-sale and overall they did a pretty good job. The exterior looked nice and shiny and the wheel rims were thoroughly cleaned. There were spots in the interior that could have been better but they did a better job getting grime out of the floor mats than expected. The only thing I didn't like was that their cleaning process brought spots that I didn't know were there on the seats to the surface which made them look stained. They told me those would fade in a few hours but in a few days they were still there. On the bright side, I cleaned the spots myself with a little Woolite carpet cleaner and they came out. This is my first auto detailing experience which I would rate a 3.5... 4 here for the benefit of the doubt. read more

I only get my car detailed maybe once every 2 years or so and given that I have two very hairy dogs, it can kinda look like a nightmare in there after awhile. Hair EVERYWHERE. I took my car in today and when I picked it up again 2 hours later it looked absolutely AMAZING. I can't remember the last time it looked so good! They did a truly amazing job. It definitely wasn't cheap, but the price was comparable to other places I've taken my car to be detailed and with dog hair, it always tends to cost more. And one thing to note, it's cash or check only. I didn't realize that and had to find myself an ATM to get the cash. I would highly recommend Bill Botts for any kind of auto detailing. Bill's five stars are well-deserved. This is the kind of business you want to patronize. A small local business, with a hard-working owner, who delivers quality work. This business is eighteen years old, so he knows what he's doing. My first call was to confirm how long he needed my car. We had a brief convo about my needs and he answered my questions. For my particular job, he estimated he'd need two hours. After arranging for a friend to pick me up, I made the appointment. Sure enough, at the appointed time, he welcomed me by name (nice touch) and got to work. Two-ish hours later, my car was done. Bill was careful to point out what was un-fixable: a paint chip in my roof I should paint to prevent rust, and a minor bird-dropping paint scar on my hood. Other than that my interior and exterior were pretty much like new! For my particular (small) car, the charge was 220.00. Not cheap, but frankly the interior was pretty bad, so that seems fair enough. He's sort of down a short alley. So turn into the alley behind the Oil Changers and you'll see him at the end on the right. read more

Just picked up my baby from Eder and Samuel at Bill Botts. Paint correction, Baked 2 coat ceramic for my Obsidian Black Metallic Tesla Model 3 very reasonably priced. They even found some matching paint to brush out tiny little rock chip (can't even get it from Tesla service shops, only online), refreshed the interior which was great, quick treat on the leather and gave it a nice scent as some Tesla owners reporting the new car smell that's over the top off gassing. Mirror gloss, glass smooth to the touch. When I picked it up from Tesla it was dirty and had some swirl marks. Now it looks brand - new show room quality. There are a handful of professional detailers around. Most do not have the right products or techniques. I know detailing. I've had custom trucks and cars since the 1970's. Generally I do my own detailing. Had may black 2008 Avalanche restored here. Restored? Yes. Hadn't been washed in 6 months. Had full detail with clay bar. Interior too seats and carpet cleaned. It came back looking very very nice. I didn't have the rear black plastic detailed as I have my own ointment. Very pleased. I let it be known they could keep it overnight. They did and worth the wait. Nice staff, clean shop. Stop in for an estimate. It's time well spent. I'll be back soon. No more 6 month wait. read more

I have a Beautiful Porsche Carrera S, 2017 4X4 lifted Truck, 2012 Yukon and there all Black in color. and the hardest color to keep clean. But every 4 months I would bring them in one at a time for good wash and wax. and every time I would pick up my vehicle's they would look like they just came from the show room, Beautiful in and out. I love this place very far in price and the best part is they make you fill like family very nice and helpful. I've recommended Mirror Finish to others and now there Regulars there. This is the best Detail shop and Body repair in Alameda and the east bay I would say. so I went to the Owner one day and showed him my dad's 92 Cadillac it was not looking so good and it need some help because it was my dads baby he loved driving this car. and I ask him can you bring this back to where my dad would be proud to drive it again and The owner said let me see what I can do. two days later I almost cried on how beautiful it came out. I heard negative reviews from the Shoreline detailing business, so i was pretty adamant about finding a smaller business that had better reviews and results. I asked the Oil Changers how Bill was because I saw his sign when my car was getting serviced. They told me he was great! I wish I took before and after pics, because Bill did an amazing job. My wife's Nissan Altima had numerous scratches and she had our 2 little ones sitting in the back. I told Bill to make it look brand new and boy did he deliver. AMAZING. Brought my car in today and I cannot be happier. I came back two hours later and from afar my car looked very shiny =) He even touched up some chips and the really disgusting stain on one of the seat belts in the back seat is GONE. I got my car 10 months ago and the previous owner probably had pets ride in the car so there were some dog hair ( I know, EWWW.) in between my passenger seats. But that's all gone now. Before I moved back to Alameda, my 2003 Corvette was kept in my driveway in NJ. My automatic sprinkling system there uses mineral-laden well water; this left the surface of the car's paint covered with deep stains. When the car was delivered to Alameda I got a recommendation from Lee Auto Supply for a detailer, Bill Botts. My Corvette has a very unique paint color, 50th Anniversary Red. Removing the stains was a real challenge for Bill. But with his 18 years of experience and tenacity, my car's finish now looks like new! He also removed the stains from the windshield and windows. I had scratched the fender getting into my tight garage, Bill buffed it out and touched up the paint. Bill said it was the most difficult detail he had ever done. The results clearly show his talents! I would recommend Bill without hesitation! read more

They did an excellent paint restoration job (clean/polish/apply ceramic coating) recently on my 2008 VW, which was covered in surface oxidization. The paint had no sheen whatsoever, and the car was covered in water marks and stains. I was amazed at the results - to my eye the oxidation and stains disappeared, and the finish was absolutely shiney and smooth. This car is never garaged, and again got covered in dirt, polen, etc., as it always does. I hand washed it for the first time since the work was done - 90% all the dirt, etc. came off with the first rinse, and one wipe with soapy rag did the rest with almost no effort. And I've never seen water bead like that. Time will tell how long this treament lasts (1-2 years?), and that will determine the real value of this expensive service, but based on early results I'm hopeful. Bill is a great guy. He does excellent work and is very flexible in terms of drop off and pick up. Prices are reasonable and the work is pretty damn good. My buddy has 4 kids and after 5 years of eating and trashing the inside of their Tahoe, I brought it to Bill for a complete detail. He had this done in about 3 hours but I couldn't pick it up that afternoon and it was raining. He offered to store it inside and I could pick it up on Sunday any time. So I was so excited that I found this place and it had good reviews but when I dropped off my car today to get it detailed inside and out plus the headlights. The only thing impressed me is the outside part and I feel like they didn't even take the time to do the inside. The floor looks like it got dirty than before it was cleaned. Theres some spot the wasn't cleaned that good. I don't think its detailed at all. I feel like all they did in the inside was shampooed the seats and floors and didn't really do any detailing. I'm pretty disappointed not only because it took them 6hrs I'm not really sure if they did. I was hoping that the inside would be much cleaner. I don't think they actually took me as a serious customer because I'm young. But really I'm not impressed at all with the job they did on the inside. They said they will do what I told them and they didn't go through with it. If you want your car detailed inside I do not recommend this place. Maybe it's just me but look into other places who really stand by their name. Mirror finish that would be exterior only. Don't waste your money on interior or headlights. I would post pictures but there's too many that I would have to spot where they didnt clean. read more

Got their interior detail today for our old car that was stolen a few weeks ago. It smelled like smoke and was trashed inside. I didn't even want to touch anything. Mirror Finish did an excellent job cleaning every nook and cranny. Car smells CLEAN even with me just standing from the outside.
