Mickey's seems to be family-run and they've been around for a while. I hadn't been in a while but thought they did a good job. I recently took my Tesla Model Y to get an inside and outside cleaning. I'll admit we hadn't cleaned it for a while, have taken the car on road trips including to Los Angeles, Tahoe and Mammoth Lakes. We've taken it in offroad situations too. After they worked, our car is White again. They worked hard at vacuuming and cleaning the inside of the car, including the trunk. Their crew took out and cleaned floor mats and they seemed to wipe down everything as best they could. We also have dogs so there probably was a little bit of dog hair in the back too. The woman who runs the business said they needed to charge extra to shampoo one of the carpets because there was some sort of stain in the back. I thought that was reasonable. Considering that it has been years since we seriously cleaned the car, I think they did a good job and put a lot of attention, I think the price I paid was reasonable. read more

A neighbor of mine recommended Mickey's wholeheartedly, so I was intrigued. I drove by there a couple of times and the place was locked up. Out of business? Or did they take a vacation? I had to prep my car for sale and wanted a pristine exterior, even though I waffled, OK, procrastinated for a year, and did not fix a couple of garage door scrapes. I met the manager/family member? The rest were hard at work, so I set up a time. They said to leave it for a couple of hours and examined the car. I asked if they could "look" at the two wood door scrapes. The manager said she could not promise, but would pay attention to it. On the appointed day, I took the car in and left. About 2.5 hours later, I got a call to pick up the car. I was blown away by how much detail they had spent on this old car! Quite extraordinary. A huge bonus, they had cleaned up the wood pain, gone!. I gave them an extra tip for it and thanked them. Great work, Mickey's! I highly recommend this place for a careful hand wash. The value for this work is way past worth it. I'll take in my new Hydrogen powered electric car there next. But first I have to make it more messy on the inside and have them handle the inside as well :) read more

This place is appointment only. Do not show up here without an appointment and you might need to call several times before someone picks up. So the car had been parked under a tree for a month and accumulated a bunch of tree sap. Tried to do a basic outside wash but most of the sap was just not coming off. Had to switch to a clay wash which thankfully got the job done. I actually didn't have enough money for the clay wash. I was hoping the outside wash was all the car needed. I thought I had to leave and come back but the lady owner was very nice and accepted $65 cash since that's all I had on me. It took about an hour until they were done. I really liked how the owners were all involved with the whole cleaning process. They did a great job with the wash and I was very happy they were able to remove all the sap. There is a waiting room inside for you to sit while you wait for your car to be done. Just bring something with you to do to pass time. Personally I wouldn't walk around the block by myself. Mickey's is a woman-owned auto detail shop in East Oakland's Little Saigon. Let that sentence sink in. I called Sunday morning and Suu answered the phone herself. She told me if I could get to her shop in 15 minutes, she would fit me in. I compared her price with two other shops who had similar ratings to hers. One shop told me they could not do the exterior even though their Yelp listing said that they could and the other (which I had used before) quoted me a significantly higher price and gave me a range. Really? In comparison, the prices at Mickey's are listed transparently on a board outside. Suu walked me through each detail of what she would do with on each part of my car - vacuum, shampoo, wax, etc. I got a full interior/exterior plus the The stuff you put on the wheels. She told me my car would be done by 5 pm and called me at 4:15 pm to say she was done early. My car looks great! It looks as clean as it did after I took it to the place that quoted me a higher price - but there was no uncertainty about how much it was going to cost me. My car has suffered over the pandemic, and her attention to detail was very, very good. My tires look awesome and the car looks restored to good health. I am referring my friends and family to this place and will be back if I forget again NOT to park my car under a tree with a bunch of angry birds. I brought my car in because I have a dog that likes to go to the beach and roll around in dirt. My car had dog hair and sand embedded in every part of the car. Before I even made an appointment, I took my car to Mickey's to see if this would be something they would even take on because it was so disgusting. They said they would but warned me that it may be hard to get it 100% clean. I wanted to take a chance so I made an appointment for the next day. When I got my car back, I couldn't believe my eyes! It was practically a new car. I had forgotten what the original color of the interior was because it was so dirty. Mickey's brought it close to its original condition. All that sand and dog hair? Gone! Of course, if you look hard, you can spot a stray hair, but honestly, they totally exceeded my expectations. I think they were even a little proud of what they were able to do for my car. I've included before and after shots so you can see for yourself the difference. It took all day but Mickey's was super thorough and totally worth it, especially for the price! I did a clay bar and wax after coming back from Tahoe. I have a dog that sheds profusely and loves going to dog parks where it is sandy. So my rubber mats were sandy and muddy and my back seats were full of fur. I dropped it off and about 2 hours later it was very shiny like the day i bought it and free of dog fur and sand. read more

Every time I bring my car here it always comes out looking brand new! They really take their time and do it right. Downside to this place is if you don't make an appointment just plan on dropping your car off for a few hours and coming back to pick it up. They do take your name and number though so they call you once it's ready. Upside your car is sparkling when you pick it up. There is a small waiting area so you can wait if you want but honestly make an appointment it's preferred anyways. read more

He conducts himself in the most professional and respectful manner towards the customers and his staff which is always a good sign. DECEPTIVE PRICING PRACTICES but an honest review It actually pains me to write this review and I was not sure whether to give them 2 or 3 stars (Maybe 4 for cleaning and 1 for customer service and pricing). I will say they do a good job cleaning the car. Thorough and detailed for the most part. A little variation here and there on quality but overall good and I have been coming here for awhile. The reason I am writing the review is because they have now gotten out of control on pricing for cleaning the car. The listed price is $40 and up for an SUV and it is the "and up" part that I now have a problem with. I used to pay between $40-$45 before tip. The last time I came the lady told me it was pretty dirty so it was going to be $55 and now when I pulled in my car she told me it was going to be $75. WHAT????? Almost double the advertised price. I asked her why when just two weeks ago when I was here it was $55. She said that some employees didn't show and so they and she is washing the cars but mostly because my car was very dirty. First, I am compassionate that getting employees to come in is a challenge and I am even willing to help with the higher $55 price but just because she may have to work is not a reason to almost double the price. And as far as the level of dirt - it is the same as it was two weeks ago when I brought it in $55. I think she forgot this is a CAR WASH. not a detail and wax job. I can add a few bucks and get a full detail and wax elsewhere. Anyway, the point is the pricing is now out of control. I tried to tell her that this was not acceptable but she would not budge. She preferred to not have me support the business and pay $55 ($15 above the advertised price) or even $60 which I also offered ($20 above the advertised price). I really felt I was being MORE than fair trying to help but it has reached a new level. I am writing to make people aware that you will not pay what is advertised and it is likely to change each time you go in. Not the best customer service The $55 pushed my buttons but I'll get over it. The $75 ($35 over advertised price) deserves a public disclosure / notification / siren ha. For me it has reached the point of no return. There are others in the area for $30 for suv and if really dirty they told me $30-max $40. I will post a review on other when I find a new location. The car they washed have these kinda annoying, though great looking multi-spoke rims that I'm basically too lazy to really get into on my own and they just crushed it. I park outside so it's not worth it to me to keep my car too clean, but when the dirt is just too much, I'm definitely coming back here. They take appointments and since I walked it, it was kind of a wait. But this part of Oakland has the best Vietnamese food north of Milpitas and you can go get your self something great. read more

I took my car to Mickey's to get the interior shampooed so that some of my dog's hair could come off the seats. They did such a great job, when I got it back it was like my pet had never even been inside the car. They do a great job here with very reasonable prices - I did the interior shampoo and a quick wash on the exterior which came out to $180 or so (before tip). I have used my debit card here before but I am unsure if they take credit cards. They are pretty busy so definitely call ahead to make an appointment. I stopped by the week before to ask about the services and she gave me a quote after looking at my car, then helped me book the appointment for the week after. They have a seating area indoors and outside as well for those who are staying close by to wait, since the services usually take a few hours (apparently there's wifi inside too). The cost was understandably more than the standard wash price since it requires so much more work, but when I picked up my car later I was shocked! My car was spotless inside and out. Ok, so, this is the first time I have had my car at Mickey's. I called and made an appointment as suggested and arrived at my appointment time, and since it was my first time there, I didn't know where to enter so I drove around the block since I had seen orange cones in front of the entrance. I assumed it would be on the other side, but nope, because all the cars were facing that exit. Again, I drove around the block and tried to stop at the cones but there were cars behind me, so again, I drove around the block. Finally, I pulled up to the orange cones and while they saw me, no one offered to ask me if I needed help so with half my car sticking out on the street, I tried calling to see if someone can move those. The phone rang and rang and right when I was about to hang up and get out of the car, the lady answered and I said I had an appt but here are cones in the way. She came and removed it. I can tel they were busy so no big deal. So, she asked me what I wanted and since there wasn't a menu of the different services, I said I wanted the interior and exterior detailed including the mats. I didn't know they also did upholstery but I believe that they do, don't know that for a fact. In any event, my car really wasn't that filthy, mostly dust and needed be vacuumed. She looked and said $45 for the services for my Camry. Not bad considering the place I usually went to would have been about $65 but the downside is that you would have to come back 2.5 hrs later. Decided to take my kids to get an early lunch and hung out. When I came back, I was impressed with the level of details with the interior and how clean my wheels were. When I asked if the car was ready, I was told the mats weren't ready so we waited until the guy said it was done. Then, the lady started putting some Honda mats down and I had to tell her that those weren't mine. Lol In any event, it was a pretty good experience but had I known about upholstery service was an option, I totally would have gotten that too considering my dog got my backseat somewhat nasty. Mickey's Auto Detail used to be the best car wash for many years. I had no problems and was happy with their services!! Recently, Mickey's Auto Detail's quality and service has gone down hill. I had a incident a month ago. My brand new SUV, driver side rear door has a deep scratch from their car wash. I believe it was done by their step ladders!? I spoke with the head lady, she denied the scratch was done at her car wash. Figured I give them another try.. My SUV was not clean upon pickup. (Friday evening around 5pm and they were extremely busy) The exterior had a few missed areas that wasn't cleaned. I also discovered scratches in the passenger front fender and rear lift gate. Looks like either the drying towels were dropped and collected debris or dirty towels was used. I definitely will not be doing business with Mickey's Auto Detail!! Note: I truly didn't want to write this negative review. If the car wash wasn't clean or something was missed I would understand. We're all human!! But the scratches, I had to give you a one star!! Was told $45 and paid $45 upfront. Told to pick up car in 2 hrs, came back for car in 2 hrs but was then asked for $10 more. The old lady grumbled that she left me a vm but did not proceed to explain why the extra $10. It was the most awkward exchange. I've been coming to Mickeys Car Wash since I've moved to Oakland. They provide great detailed cleaning for the inside/outside of vehicles for $25. $35 and up for trucks. In years past, it was first come, first serve, but now Mickeys is so popular an appointment is preferred. The down side to such detailed cleaning is it takes around one hour for the cleaning. Mickeys does great work. A much better job than I can do and even though the prices have steadily went up with their popularity, it's still a decent deal when you want your car to shine like a diamond. read more

Decided to finally grow up and look beyond the mechanized car wash places, but felt intimidated trying to sort through all the options and figure out how much hand washing I needed. Some of the places are crazy expensive. So glad I followed the reviews and went with Mickey's. It was a great deal, easy making an appointment, and they didn't try to oversell me on bells and whistles I didn't really need. The car looked transformed afterwards. The wash was supposed to take 2 hours, which is no problem if you have a plan in advance (like going to Lakeshore or just bringing a book). It ended up running about 45 min late, and they insisted on knocking a bit off the price as a result. I didn't mind the lateness and tried to pay in full, and they refused to take it.
