Our dryer kicked the bucket and we ordered a new one from Sears. When I heard Bills Appliance would do install I was almost going to buy from someone else. I read some reviews and spoke to a women when the dryer first failed who was not so friendly. Two guys came out when they said they would. They where very professional, friendly and to the point. My old dryer was removed, new one installed. They cleaned up and was gone. Bill if you read this, I strongly recommend you hire more like these two as they represented your company very well. read more

I would not recommend this company at all. Their customer service is poor; you call and the admins don't have a clue what they are saying. You talk to one then the other and you get two different responses and versions. Paid $35 to get an estimate to install a dishwasher (mind you their estimate is to come and see if you have pipes and electric already). So basically, they come and hook up the hoses and the electric (and you need to charge $35 dollars to come see that?). Told them that I did not have pipes way in advance. I asked for my $35 back. They refused and got a rude call from the owner. read more

I would not do business with Bill's if they paid me. I used to do a lot of purchases from them back when I own rental properties. I once called for service to be performed on a refrigerator in my home. The service guy came out and stated that I needed a new unit. I purchased a new unit from Best buy and the guy delivering the unit told me that all the unit I was replacing needed was to be vacuumed out. He proceeded to do just that, low and behold, the unit was fine. I told Bill's wife about this and she issued me a store credit. Well the service got so bad that I ended up not using the store credit, and the wife's attitude absolutely sucked. read more

This is one of the worst companies that I have ever dealt with. They were supposed to install a hood above my gas stove yesterday. I was given a time between 12-2 that the technician would come. By 2 pm I had not heard anything, so I called the office. The woman assured me he was on the way. By 2:30, still no word. So I called again, I had about 5 calls back and forth with the woman in the office and by 3:30 she tells me "he is not coming" and basically hung up on with me. Do not let such unprofessional people and businesses stay in business! Take your business elsewhere! read more

Had an issue with my oven, that was only 2 years old. Bill came out and charged us 75 to diagnose the problem. He then came out a second time and replaced the part that was supposedly causing the error, he was wrong and this did not fix the problem (was not charged for the part or service). He had his admin order the Part (not sure if this happened or not), over 1 week later the part never came, and they told me it was on back order (why didn't they tell met this before), so I went without a stove in November for 3 weeks and missed Thanksgiving thanks to them. had to call several times to get answers, never fixed the problem and would not refund the initial amount paid, even though it was never fixed. read more

Whenever I need parts for the appliances I always call Bill's first. I really don't need the service as most appliances are easy to fix if you have a little bit of mechanical ability as most appliances are totally modular these days. Bill's always has the parts that I need. read more

I used Bill's Appliance on 7/30/14. We needed many repairs to our Viking refrigerator. The technician came our three different times, the last being on 9/28/14 (they charges us $75 for each visit beyond the repairs). The last visit the technician said he forgot to order the correct part and that he would. My wife and I called Bill's appliance every month for about a year. The lady that answered the phone would flat out lie about the status of our repair. Each time she would give various excuses such as the "part is still on order", etc., etc. I would recommend any homeowners in the area avoid Viking appliances because you are limited with your repairs to companies like Bill's appliance. And, please be smart enough to avoid Bill's Appliance with other repairs you may have. We have two other area friends that have had similar experiences. read more

Absolutely the most horrible experience. I would never recommend Bill's Appliance. Charged me $87. for a diagnosis so I continued to call for a service appointment. My appointments kept being canceled. When he finally came to my house, he was absolutely miserable and overcharged me. He left a part of dryer on the top of the refrigerator, didn't push my dryer back in but proceeded to attach the laundry closet door forcing it off the track. I didn't notice these issues until after he left. I called and spoke with the receptionist and ask her if he would please come back and resolve these for issues and he refused. read more

My husband and I were recommended to Bill's by a friend. Since there are not many appliace repair companies in Portsmouth and we try to always support local business owners, we decided to call them up for a broken washing machine instead of doing our research. They were in contact right away and sent someone as soon as possible, so I was extremely hopeful that our issue would be fixed promptly. Our front loader washing machine was shipped 2,000 miles without the shipping bolts and the tub was violently banging during the spin cycle. A 50 minute wash was taking up to two hours due to the balance being off. The repair man showed up and started off being not particularly friendly, but because of my frustration with another military move gone wrong, I went right to explaining the problem. He insisted that the banging was normal and there was nothing wrong with the machine, and the extended wash time was my fault for using too much soap. After insisting that wasn't the problem because I had the machine for four years and just recently noticed these issues and reminded him of the shipping without the bolts, he became visually annoyed and finally claimed the pump was broken. Even though all the water was completely draining out of the tub, he left my $85 dollar bill on my washer and walked out without saying a word. I called the number I used to schedule the appointment to explain my dissatisfaction with my service. I was told on the phone by who I assume was the receptionist how I was the one being rude and she extremely condescendingly said that she "did not expect that type of behavior" from me. Surprised, I explained that I would be writing a negative review on the company which was followed by her hanging up on me. I called back and there was no answer, so here I am. I'm sure this company is knowledgeable (she did say the repair man sent to my house had 20 years experience) and does great work when there is a very apparent, easy-fix issue with an appliance, but I believe in customer service and satisfaction, and that wasn't there in my appointment. After reading other reviews now, I can see that I should have done my research and hope others do the same when looking for appliance repair, and therefore do not recommend this company. read more
