    Risotto balls

I've had this place on my radar for many ears, but never managed to get here until now. It was a beautiful summer afternoon, so we sat outside for lunch. A lot of the food seemed kind of heavy so we split the risotto balls appetizer and each got a kale Caesar salad and French onion soup. Not the most adventurous choices, but everything we had was quite good. I'm glad we sat outside - the inside seemed kind of stuffy to me. Definitely old school Bloomfield Hills, which has no appeal to me.

First Visit to Bill's - Definitely Not the Last! Today was my first time at Bill's in Bloomfield Hills on Woodward, and I can't believe I've driven past it so many times without noticing it! It's tucked in the same building as Brewer's Bagels, Oswald's, and Chase Bank -- not sure how I missed it all this time. A buddy of mine and I were texting about grabbing food, and he suggested Bill's. He said, "You've got to try the Eggs Benedict, but get it on the James Beard hashbrowns instead of the English muffin." That was all I needed to hear. We sat up at the bar, and Alisha was our bartender -- she was absolutely fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and just on point the whole time. We ordered two entrées to split: the burger and fries, and the Eggs Benedict on hashbrowns. Both were phenomenal. The flavors, the presentation -- everything was spot on. We also had a few mimosas (which were perfectly balanced, by the way), and between the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere, the whole experience was top-notch. Bill's has such a great vibe -- upscale but relaxed, and definitely welcoming. I can't wait to come back and try more from the menu. This spot is a hidden gem on Woodward!

We had an amazing first experience at Bills. First of all, they don't take reservations, but we were sat quickly on a weekday for dinner. It was busy, but not too busy with a lively bar. We loved the decor, it's very fun with a lot to look at, but with a dark moody vibe. I loved that all the design elements were cohesive, from the checkered tablecloths, wall decor, and even the bathrooms. We started with the lamb meatballs, truffle fries and calamari. As a calamari lover, this was a super win dish for them. It was surprisingly tender and we loved it! For entrees we got the NY strip, brick chicken, and the chicken parm which was on special. They are all very balanced, a meat, carb, and veggie. The star of the show was the NY strip plate, the steak was cooked perfectly, covered in peppercorns, and had really well cooked Brussels sprouts on the side. The server was great, the perfect level of attentive. I loved my experience at Bill's and I will be back!

I love going to our local family owned restaurants, Bills is very good always busy, the food is consistently good. I look forward to coming back here. The only draw back is they do not take reservations. But they have a nice bar area to have a cocktail and wait for a table

A group of 8 of us (7 adults, 1 toddler, 1 baby) were at Bill's for Mother's Day for a very late brunch. We arrived at 330, and brunch ended at 4. Our table had two waitresses and they let us know that we had to choose between brunch or dinner as a group. After some debate, we decided on dinner. I think everyone enjoyed their food. I had the meatballs which were tasty, but I feel like texture needed something more as everything in the plate had a soft texture. My husband enjoyed his burger but also felt all he could taste was truffle flavor which is delicious but I feel some variety is needed in a dish. The service was good, but I think we might have tested the patience of one of the waitresses trying to decide between the two menus, asking questions and having a pretty active toddler!

Still a great brunch. We had a large group and the wait staff was very accommodating, even splitting our bill. Avocado toast was great, with poached eggs that are perfectly runny.

I have eaten both lunch and dinner at Bill's; both were very good. We had lunch on our most recent visit. The atmosphere is very nice. I had the tuna melt and it was one of the best I have ever had. Everyone enjoyed what they had. The French fries were cooked to perfection. The service was good. I will definitely return.

I love Bill's for happy hour. Terrific appetizers. The meatballs & risotto balls are MWAH - delish! The bread is crusty & yummy. Server, Colleen is great! Looking forward to trying more menu items.

In addition to bringing joy to my parents, Knollwood is a wonderful destination for when the kids come home. On a recent trip, we enjoyed Sunday brunch at Knollwood with my parents and grandfather. I opted to use the workout room while my sister and bf golfed with my parents later that day... and we actually ended up having dinner that night there also. (BBQ night - we couldn't pass that up!) All of the people that work at Knollwood are extremely friendly from the Valet to the locker room attendant. I still get a kick out of the fact that everyone there knows my parents by name. They have plenty of room with several tables to accommodate. But you need to hurry, rumor has it they've sold the building to Kenny's liquor shoppe, next door.

Then, you walk over to the sweet older ladies (in aprons that are running the food from the kitchen window) and hand them your food ticket. They may or may not ask your name so they may call your name or what is in your order when it is ready to pick up. It took about 10 min for our orders to be called. They do not use cod (heaven forbid!), rather large pieces of hake and it is hand-battered. The fish was very tender, delicious, and flavorful. Batter was light and crisp. The dish comes with slaw and bread. We got the mushy peas for the whole cultural experience. We also got the steak pie. It was like a beef potpie without the veggies, packed with steak and gravy in a very tender crust. All were very filling and delish. Besides the fish and chips, a major highlight was how friendly the members were, welcoming us so warmly. The sweet older ladies that served us are the the cutest, charming ladies with their accents. Whenever I ESPECIALLY hear a British accent, I feel like I am in a movie or TV show. It is just slightly surreal. I want them to keep talking to hear how British they are. I am just having my own personal show. Anyway... We will definitely come back.
