This place is really, really good! They definitely have stepped there game up in recent years. I have been here multiple times over the years both after golfing or just coming to the restaurant only. They have a big menu with multiple food and drink options. They have good smoked meats and foods containing smoked pork, brisket and chicken. The nachos are yummmmy as well as many other items likes burgers, tacos, appetizers, etc. The staff is always friendly as well! Like a lot of people, we drive by the golf course and Billy Baroos all the time. So the restaurant is through the main entrance, and to the right. Ample parking. Nice entryway/lobby area. The restaurant itself (and bar) is cozily set up, booths and tables, and charming art work from the movie "Caddy Shack" - loved that! Our server noticed us immediately, was efficient and friendly the entire time, and also makes a mean Billy's Cooler - a very refreshing citrus drink. The brisket sandwich was tops, the fries were good, the loaded potatoes are a fun option (the bacon was a little hard to eat - not crunchy, not soft). The main upset was the French Onion Soup, which was, let's just say, not their specialty area. It was overwhelmingly salty, with meager bread to soak up the broth. The server was kind enough to take it off our bill - it was, at least for me, inedible. My spouse thought the same. This was a glitch in an otherwise fine evening. Also notable was that, even though we came in about an hour before close, they never made us felt rushed. We will definitely go back for the ambience and try other menu items - and other drinks. Wanted to try something new and heard about Billy Barros from a friend. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable with a beautiful view of the golf course. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive and funny he made excellent recommendations. The beef rib tips were so delicious and tender. Every dish was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. I would not ever come here again. Yes the restaurant is cute but the service and the food sucked. My dad ordered ribs, based off images we have seen on their Facebook and reviews and they were NOT even close to what was shown. They were overcooked, barely sauced and then smothered in picked onions AND French crispy onions. Below is a side by side of the images expected and the middle of the ribs. My mom and I ordered the special which was white chicken chili, it was basically a corn chowder. The appetizer of Brisket Nachos had 'bacon bit' sized brisket and barely any of it. It's always nice to play golf at a place where there is a restaurant to look forward to following the round. BB's does not disappoint. Staff very friendly and the outdoor seating was clean. I went to Billy Baroo's to grab some food with the family. It reminds me of a bar and grill. They have tv's and music playing. Server came by and took care of us right away. I ended up ordering the pork ribs with mash potatoes and baked beans. The ribs tasted like they were pre-made and grilled. They weren't that good. The beans and mash potatoes were ok. Billy Baroo's is a restaurant/bar at a golf course. Anyone can eat here, you don't have to be golfing or a member. They accept reservations. They have a giant parking lot, plenty of free parking. Lots of large dining tables and booths for groups and patio seating too. You can see through the large windows right onto the course, which is well maintained. The menu is what you would expect - sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips, salads, pastas, and lots of apps and meat entrees. The food was all right. I came here once with a large group who had traveled in from across the US and Canada. Everyone said their food was good, but no one was raving or saying it was awesome. The most memorable part of it was our waitress took forever, she didn't refill any drinks and didn't clear any plates. read more

I was mostly interested in a place were the food was not over priced, a descent view, and quiet enough to have a conversation and not have to yell in the ear of the person sitting next to you. I ordered the fish fingers - small pieces of fried fish with French fries and coleslaw. Husband ordered a side salad and a cup of chili. My brother ordered a cheese burger that came with fries. Husband & I each ordered an Arnold Palmer & brother ordered a Coke. Server was very nice & attentive. Husband had never been here before. He liked it and said he would come back. Nice location, we had a table looking out at the golf course which was very pretty. Very clean and our server was attentive and helpful, bringing more iced tea without being asked, however, the food was just so so. My friend had a brisket sandwich which she said was ok and the potato salad tasted like it came from a grocery store. I had a BLT which is my favorite sandwich. Plenty of bacon but not cooked crispy and the bread was limp like it had too much butter on the bread and not toasted enough. The fries weren't hot when they came to the table which is an absolute no no in my book. They have an extensive menu and even though lots of golfers were eating lunch after playing golf the service seemed pretty steady and food came out promptly. I went here to meet a small group of 4 for a Meetup. The front entrance is warm and cozy with a fireplace. I suggest of anyone on a Date to sit there after lunch since when the Golfer crowd comes in the bar or restaurant, it will get noisy. I was the only person to order an entree in my party. I had the grilled salmon. The portions were small for the mashed potatoes. I was a bit disappointed for the price I paid. It was good though. But you can't mess up potatoes. The broccolini was very good, tender and not bitter. I don't like eating hard veggies. The salmon was good too. I ordered right away when the waitress came by again to check on the other ladies. Two of the ladies just ordered soup and not other food. Another lady ordered a basic salad and soup. She ordered some sweet potato fries later since the salad did not cut it. This is a golf clubhouse sports bar. Really good meats smoked on site. I sat at the bar and the bartender told me the brisket is the thing. I ordered the ribs, because I think if you're going to test smoked BBQ fare, there is nothing more telling than the ribs. They were quite good, not the best. "fall off the bone" I've ever had, but quite good. The BBQ sauce was also exceptional! Not too sweet which allowed the rib flavor to come through. I think they should bottle it! I also had the corn bread as my side. It came as a whole tiny loaf with honey butter on the side. I asked the waitress for some plain butter because I think cornbread is sweet enough without it. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating if you're not afraid to get hit by a stray golf ball :) Seems like a cool place to watch the game or even duck in for lunch after playing a few holes. I called around 12pm to reserve for party of 14 for dinner at 530pm yesterday. We got in and our table was ready with 3 seatings for the kids with kids menus. I didn't even think about it but the gal who took my reservation was on top of it. I really appreciated that. There were a couple other big parties there, but it was not loud or hectic. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. We all got waters and drinks while waiting for the stragglers to show up. She was very patient and great. She handled our crazy group with the kids and a baby very well. Kudos to her! It was happy hour when we were there so many of us ordered drinks after drinks. We ordered 2 nachos , chicken strips and spinach dip to share. All were very good. Then our food came out right when we were finishing the appetizers. Perfect timing. Everyone ate their meals and only raved about how delicious it was. We had such a great time and the food was so good that we didn't even take pictures. I only remembered we ordered the special of the week - Bison burger and Fisherman's stew. Very good! I've been here few times but only for lunch. This was the first as a big group. Billy Baroo's only came onto our radar because they are a broadcast partner for the local rugby team. We thought we'd watch an out of town fixture and give their brunch a shot. Wow. The staff was wonderful. Attentive, kind, and all appeared to be having a good time working there. The coffee was classic dinner coffee and I'm sure it hits the spot after playing a round of golf on a chilly day. We heard someone call in from the links and order a piping hot chocolate with whipped cream - so if you happen to be playing golf there, you can call ahead and have food or drink waiting for you! The breakfast menu was light but solid, and had the usual offerings, but most had a slight twist. For instance, my boyfriend got the Country Fried Steak and the gravy was brisket! And I got the Veggie Omelette which came with diced up caramelized onions. I honestly don't know that I've had caramelized onions offered in any kind of breakfast dish and it's such a smart and flavorful idea! We stayed on to enjoy a couple rounds of drinks and watch some rugby. Good to know that they reserve a few tables specifically for the rugby crowd, and told us if we ever came with a group of folks to watch the fixture, just give them a call and they'll hold a table for us. Beautiful outdoor setting on the golf course, wonderful servers, subpar food. What a missed opportunity. Had brunch with a large group, the food is similar to Denny's but greasier, sad, and at least twice the price. The benedict is without exaggeration the most disgusting mess I've ever seen or tasted. It comes in a "bread bowl" (W?T?H?). That should have been a red flag but the server suggested it can be served on English muffins so I gave it a shot. I can't even begin. It was served in a pasta bowl with, I kid you not, 2-3 cups (not 2/3 c) of congealed "gravy" type stuff they call Hollandaise, 2 sad muffins, the most fatty disgusting brisket and 2 poached eggs. I think there were 2 eggs but it was hard to find anything other than the gravy stuff. It was so disappointing- further made annoying by the picture of a typical looking eggs Benedict on the menu. Everyone at the table was equally as shocked and disgusted by the presentation. I could go on but I want to put the memory of what looked like a plate of vomit in the past. One bite, I told the server (in a polite way) it was inedible and was told to next time let them know sooner so they could "fix it". P.S. The business owner pictures of the food need to be taken down or with a grain of salt. There may have been that 'one time' the food looked that... good. Comparing the business owner photos and the real thing is akin to showing up for a really bad online date and instantly knowing the pictures were from about 7 years, 40 lbs., and 3 hairstyles ago. I digress. Save yourself a wad and the aggravation. Go for the beautiful surroundings, get fries and a beer - pretty hard to mess up that - and please tip your server well. read more

The food is absolutely terrible. Brisket seemed baked, not smoked. It also wasn't brought up to temperature, let alone held there long enough for all the connective tissue to break down. Brisket that thin shouldn't hold together. Even worse, the waiter said the brisket is "way better" than the pulled pork we were considering. Can't imagine how bad it would have been. The hush puppies were incredibly dry. The manager asked if we were done with them and commented that they are dry when we said we are. They know it's a problem, but keep serving them!? Calamari wasn't terrible for being from frozen. The fries were decent. They're battered, which I like. It's the only thing they had going for them. I have no idea what they were thinking with the slaw dressing and it was not allowed to set overnight or any amount of time like it needs. In the summer we play a lot of golf at Foster golf course. After every round we always have a beer outside on the patio. Billy Baroo's has the best selection of beer on tap by far of all the courses we play. Well, since the pandemic they don't have quite as many selections but still excellent choices. I'm have to say that I'm not happy that they changed happy hour to later, not at 3:30 as before. What I especially like about Billy baroo's is that many of the patrons aren't golfers. They come after work or to meet friends to enjoy the food and drink. This bar has a real community feeling. We used to know all the wait staff but recently there's been a lot of turnover. So to begin, the plus side yo our experience is that they made sure we had our vaccination cards. Otherwise, No. I've been before and first time was disappointing. Came back a second time and it was decent. Tonight, we tried again, and this time was also a fail. I knew things were bad when the Shirley Temple was a mediocre fail. No cherries? Took forever to finally get a refill for that. We ordered the catfish as I remembered that was good. They served us 5-6 catfish fingers for 9 dollars each. Best thing on the menu, just expensive and not worth the value. I remember getting a few more pieces in the past. Came with an odd, runny type tartar sauce so much so the waitress called it "ranch" and said she would bring us some tartar sauce which was the same thing lol. Hubby ordered baked beans, came out as cold MUSH, that was way too spicy. Everyone knows baked beans should actually be beans with even a bit of a runny consistency. These were refried beans with no added onions, bacon or anything. Hubby also ordered the Mac and cheese, waitress described them as "spiral noodles" came out as thick and gummy spaghetti noodles instead. She later apologized. Had we know the beans were going to be spicy, and had she properly described the Mac and cheese, he wouldn't have ordered neither one. We told the manager who came by to ask about our food and she was trying to defend it saying the cheese sauce was different, and was not really listening. He had no issue with the sauce really, it was the odd choice of noodles. The manager stood there, and didn't bother to even offer anything until my hubby was forced to ask her to comp them as he barely ate them. She finally said, "I'll comp them". No apology. Didn't even get a chance to complain about my baked potato. It was dry and definitely not "loaded". The pork was dried out and old. I only got like 5 pieces of old pork and barely any barbecue sauce, cheese or sour cream. I barely ate that, and left the rest. Pretty embarrassed because I told my hubby it was good decent food, but it was not. The only thing that was good was the expensive tiny pieces of catfish. Billy Baroo's has changed it's name and menu - it's now called "Smokehouse and Bar." The menu features several "smoked" items and is divided into several categories of "plates" apparently of varying sizes. There were just two of us, so we only experienced a fraction of the menu. The clam chowder was reported to be "fine." The $8 Caesar salad (there's a larger one as well) came dressed with a large quantity of a strangely fishy dressing (maybe heavily flavored with anchovies, though there was no mention of that), a sprinkling of grated parmesan cheese, and some nicely flavored croutons. It was ordered with the $6 addition of grilled chicken, which turned out to be cold and slightly stringy white meat with faint grill marks on a couple of the slices. There was plenty of it, but it really wasn't very appetizing. All in all a disappointment for the $14 cost. I don't think the new menu represents an improvement over the previous offerings (which were deservedly popular). But of course, my sample of the choices was very limited. Eating on the patio with the golf course stretching into the distance is a very pleasant option. read more
