Group Therapy Bar and Grill's first day of their soft opening is today! They're hoping to receive their liquor license within the next week or so. Until then, they offer a good selection of non-alcoholic drinks, including mocktails! This establishment was formerly known as R Bar. The new owners completely gutted the place. It's a very open layout with plenty of seating. Once they have their liquor license, it will not be family friendly but until then, they said children are welcome. Some of the things they have to offer are: -10 TVs -3 projectors -2 pool tables -2 dart boards -Golden Tee -Pull tabs -Magic Coin machine -Outdoor patio (dogs welcome outside) My sister and I decided to have lunch there today. Their temporary soft menu offers a good selection. For anyone requiring GF, they do offer a GF bun substitution. If you visit, please note that they are temporarily CASH ONLY. My sister got their Philly Cheesesteak and a raspberry purée lemonade. She is very picky when it comes to Philly Cheesesteaks and she absolutely loved it. She said the bread was perfectly crisp on the outside, and soft in the middle. The meat to veggie ratio was perfectly to her liking. I decided to try their Reuben. My sandwich probably could have used a little more sauerkraut, but I've always been a hoarder of sauerkraut because I love it so much. Most would probably be perfectly content with it. It contained just the right amount of corned beef. For a drink, I asked for them to surprise me with a mocktail of their choosing, which our bartender loved. It ended up consisting of mango purée, cranberry juice, and some other magical yumminess that I can't remember. The only criticism we had were the fries. Both sandwiches came with garlic fries. While they tasted delicious, they weren't fried all of the way. Most of them were pretty limp. We loved that they were hand cut, though.

Super noisy crowd of young folks. Over 40? Beware...... Great beer choices. Been open in Renton for at least 20 years.

I'm so glad we decided to stay and eat... the crispy chicken sandwich was fabulous! Definitely will order again if in the area. Breakfast was what my sister ordered and she raved... no leftover. Yes, its a family friendly environment. Bring the kids and enjoy some great food. It's got an "excellent" health depression rating!!! What a treat

If you're looking for a flashy, high-end bistro, keep driving. But if you want a solid,…read moredown-to-earth breakfast that actually hits the spot, you need to check out The Firestarter Bar in Kent. I've been in a few times and am impressed by the quality of the food. My hats off to the chef! Here's the breakdown of the meal: The Food Chicken Fried Steak: This wasn't one of those cheap frozen patties that's all breading. It was nice and thick with just the right amount of crunch. Sausage Gravy: The gravy can make or break this dish, and they nailed it. It was thick, savory, and had tons of flavor. Stuffed Hash Browns: I upgraded my regular hash browns to the stuffed version with bacon, and it was the best decision of the day. They were perfectly fried and crispy--exactly how hash browns should be. Over Easy Eggs: It's surprisingly hard to find a place that doesn't overcook these lately, but mine came out exactly as ordered. Pancakes: I swapped my toast for pancakes, and they were fluffy and light. They serve them with soft whipped butter and syrup, which makes a huge difference. The Service The real star of the morning was Debbie. She's essentially a one-woman show--running the bar, waiting tables, and serving everyone. She is absolutely awesome and keeps the place moving smoothly. It's rare to see that kind of hustle these days. The Verdict Don't let the "bar" label or the exterior scare you off. It's a friendly, welcoming spot with better food than most dedicated breakfast joints in the area. Give this place a chance--you won't regret it.
