We ordered the seasoned fries and bulgogi tacos off the happy hour menu. The fries were skinny, fried and seasoned well and were a good portion size. The bulgogi tacos were also fairly large but I thought the flavor was lacking. The meat wasn't seasoned as much as I expected for bulgogi and the sauce didn't enhance the flavor....just made it messier to eat. Per the server's suggestion, I ordered the lomo saltado. I've been a regular customer at this restaurant for quite some time, both dining in and ordering takeout, which is why this experience was so disappointing. On this particular visit, my guest and I chose to sit at a table because we planned to do some work. When we arrived, we asked about the Wi-Fi and were given a password, but we were never able to connect. We asked Jessica (the server with short hair) if she could check, we heard nothing back then asked Charlie another server to check with management about it, but we never received any follow-up. Throughout the visit, our drinks and orders were also sent to the wrong table more than once. We tried to stay understanding because mistakes happen in busy restaurants, but long stretches of time passed without anyone checking on us. Later, when we received the bill, we noticed two drinks that didn't match what we remembered ordering. We calmly asked for clarification and even said we were completely willing to wait while management reviewed the cameras if needed. Our goal was simply to understand the discrepancy. Charlie, who appeared to be the staff member communicating with management, went back and forth with the owners about the situation. After some time, the two drinks were eventually removed from the bill anyway, and we were told that management said it "wasn't worth the effort." At that point, the issue could have been resolved much earlier and with much less confusion. I've worked in the customer service industry for over 15 years, so I understand that mistakes happen. What matters most is how situations are handled and de-escalated. Unfortunately, this interaction escalated unnecessarily despite multiple attempts to resolve it calmly. I do want to acknowledge that Lin was very kind and attentive during the visit, and we left her a cash tip because we felt she deserved recognition for her service. What surprised me most, however, was the public reply from the owners to my original review. Instead of acknowledging any service issues or the billing confusion, their response focused entirely on accusations about our behavior while leaving out the broader context of what led to the situation in the first place. Was looking for a place to eat near where we were and this place had a lot of good reviews so we decided to try it. We got seated right away but didn't get our order taken for a bit. It wasn't overly busy since it was only 5:00. Staff was friendly enough but there was probably only one server. It's was pretty dark in here and if you have bad eyesight, it was kind of hard to see the menu. I had to turn on my flashlight in order to see what I was looking at. This is a bar that serves food and the food was pretty tasty. They do happy hour Monday through Thursday 3 to 6 and had a couple of things that we tried. The interior has a modern rustic style, and everything was clean and inviting. We ordered the salmon salad and their most popular dish (steak, veggies, and a sunny side-up egg). The salmon salad was basically bagged lettuce with a small portion of salmon -- tasty dressing, but the portion was on the small side. The steak dish had good flavor, but the steak portion was also quite small. Their drink selection was good. They also have a large selection of hot sauces on the shelf. My go to here is always the creamy udon, lomo Saltado, honey siracha Brussel sprouts or the smash burger. The only reason I give it a 4stars is because I wish the protein portion size was bigger. My BFF and her hubby frequent this spot for date nights and I finally had the opportunity to check it out. The staff are friendly and recognized my friends and addressed them by name. Pros: I liked the happy hour food menu. The chicken tenders coated in fish sauce is a new item I hadn't seen before personally (I've had fish sauce flats before but not tenders) and thought it elevated an otherwise typically boring menu item. There's many other sauces the tenders can be coated in. Wedge salad was good too. Cons: bulgogi tots were just okay. Tots got mushy real fast so that was disappointing. My bf got the shrimp po boy but he didn't like it and said it had too much bread. The seats were very uncomfortable (confused on the "lounge" part of the name as a result). Neutral: my bf also ordered an alcoholic drink, don't remember the name but it had coffee and vodka in it. It was a pretty strong drink! The worker also gave us a sample of a new drink he was testing that was basically coffee and Mezcal and that was even stronger. It seems they are not skimping on the alcohol in the drinks here! Location is next to a gas station which surprised me (just doesn't seem like an establishment you'd find next to a gas station) Verdict: I can see myself coming here with friends to catch up once in a while. I love myself a good beer bar. Not only does The Brick have beer, but they also have great food and cocktails! The fact that they also do weekly trivia nights makes this a fun hangout spot as well. They do get busy at times but the service was wonderful throughout our entire time there. As for the food, there was honestly nothing that I didn't like.
