I've been to the Sidetrack twice now on recommendation of some friends who I consider to have decent taste. Since this place is so close to where I live, I decided to check it out. The first time I got a burger and fries to-go on a WFH day. I received a lot of great quality food for the price that day. The fries were fresh cut, the cheeseburger was larger with almost an entire avocado on top of it and great flavor and texture. Today I decided to go in for breakfast. Walking in I was a bit concerned, as it appeared to be a roomful of people and one server moving about quickly. That one server seemed to be on top of her game and seemed to be pleasing the entire room with her quick service. I ordered bloody mary and an omelette. The bloody mary was stocked with pickled beans and asparagus, as well as a couple green olives and the vodka was definitely part of the ingredients. The denver omelette was perfectly perfectly cooked with all ingredients plentiful. The hashbrowns were cooked just right, crispy on the outside with a taste of potato still availble on the inside and the biscuit was buttered after being warmed up on the grill. I have been a patron of the sidetrack for over 20 years. Still my favorite place to go. However, I went there Monday for lunch and Jamie wasn't there. The bartender was a lovely gal and yes, she was running the whole place. However, my burger was definitely lacking. I usually crave sidetrack burgers. But whoever was behind the grill didn't even bother to season the meat patty, which is the first rule of making a good burger.. Please tell me this was just an off day? read more

I get excited when I see Hispanic people running a business. They are hardworking, honest and always provide a value in whatever the product is. This place popped up on my radar about a decade ago and I finally had a chance to step in and see if it was a worthy addition to my eatery rotation. Not real big and the lighting is kinda dingy and being a ba, I guess you know who to expect when you show up in the middle of the day for lunch. Lot's of retired people that most likely drink and smoke too much, but God bless 'em, whoever you are, you need a place to go. I sat next to someone that didn't appear too happy to see a black man sit down. So much so that after scowling for about 5 minutes, he paid his tab and left. Soon after 4 women came in, two sisters and a mother. They asked if I could scoot down to make room for them. Trust me, there was room, but I guess when you play pull tabs, you need the maximum elbow room allowed. My favorite part was after getting a fistful of pull tabs, the nicotine pimp got 'em and they all had to go outside and smoke. The same woman who asked me to move, whispered to the waitress, "Make sure he doesn't take our pulltabs". I was seriously tempted to tell them to move to another area, ignorant wenches! I ordered the burger dip. I love a good burger dip and feel it should be a staple on over burger menu, but it's often overlooked. When it came, it was cooked to perfection, even the bun was grilled golden brown. The fries were hot, crips and appeared to be cut in house. There was one small blip, but I'll let it slide The sandwich had grilled onion, and I hate grilled onions and I don't think that was called out on the menu, because I would have said hold the onions. A dip is simple, meat, bread and dip, I'll accept a cheese, but never request it, but anything else is just too much. The sandwich was good, would have been great without the onion. The price was beyond fair because I guess it's $2 off any burger on a Tuesday. The food was good and I'll certainly circle back to try other items The service was a bit slow, but I heard someone comment there are normally more than one person working the floor. I think the girl could have hustled a little more, but when you got many hours ahead of you, I guess you figure, 'What's the rush" Plus, most people that drink during the middle of the day aren't in a rush. Me, I just came to sample the food, then I need to get down the road and the slow service actually prevented me from making another planned stop. I know bars are dim, but the lighting in here was really bad, They either need a different temperature bulb or more bulbs, because it just didn't feel comfortable to me inside. My overall experience was about a 2.5 to 3, but I'm giving this place a 4. If there had been another server, I think my experience would have been much improved, and I can't say enough about the overall value of what I got for my money. I would certainly come back here for a burger before going anywhere else. It's hard to mess up a burger, but this was a quality burger basket for a very fair price. read more

My tots were so dried out I couldn't eat them. The last time I was there I informed the stout bartender that there was a guy asleep at the bar, I was concerned because he looked like he was about to fall out of his chair. Given that I worked in the service industry for over 12 years, I have reasonable standards and expectations for bars/ restaurants of all varieties. To earn 5 stars on a review - does not mean you have to be a fancy 5 star restaurant. Rather - serve great food/drinks at the expected standard for you restaurant classification, efficient/ friendly staff, and pricing that to match the style of restaurant. The Sidetrack hit everyone if these points - and then some! This was my 3rd or 4th time here. I had everything from draft beer, specialty cocktails (cosmo, grape-kneehigh, etc), shots, soda ... and each time I was served a drink that was properly chilled, properly poured (measurements matter in cocktails!), in proper glassware, and ALL from a friendly server/bartender. Getting a drink right at a bar is not always a given- believe me, I have seen the most simple requests messed up. Throw in a server with a bad attitude- then it's just plain hell. I was a little skeptical of ordering any kind of food. Typically - even good bar food usually runs on the greasy side. I ordered the eggs Benedict - and I can honestly say that was the best sauce I have ever had!! I was given the choice of red potatoes or hash browns, and I choose the latter. Those too didn't disappoint . Best of all ~ my husband I walked out of there for under $25 . We ordered 2 breakfasts and a drink each. If the service and quality of goods wasn't enough...this bar won't break the bank on one visit. I think this is one of the best bars in the area! We will be back! read more

First time here! Wasn't hard to find but make note parking is not exactly plentiful with many business sharing the same parking lot. Came here prior to a soccer game for some boozy beverages and a quick bite. They have great bar food, strong drinks and awesome service! Our friend had described this as a "divey" bar and I would categorize it as just a regular sports bar. It didn't feel divey at all! We had a basket of fries, Caesar salad, tacos along with several cocktails. Helped that it was ladies night (Thursday) so well drinks were just $4. Happy Hour lasts till 7pm which is a rarity. I thought the quick and friendly service really stood out. If I am in the area again I will be back! read more

I have never had worse service. on November 20th we came for lunch and football (possibly our 3rd time here as we keep trying to give it a chance since it's walking distance). The server was rude, ignored us and rolled her eyes for ordering a beer (the second beer so it wasn't like it was getting out of hand). When I asked when the manager was in and who they were she got a smug look and told me there isn't one. We have been log time patrons of the sidetrack, we have seen many cooks and owners come and go. Historically we have had some great times, and some not not so great times, there but we kept going back. Just the frequency diminished. The remodel is beautiful, hard to believe its the same place. It looks great. The crowd is fun, not too rowdy, but there was some dancing next to the pool tables. This evening to old school funk! lots of fun. Since they re-opened recently ( 8 days ago?) I am ashamed, and delighted to say we have eaten there 4 times. The first event was Nacho's. We were not expecting much, its nacho's. The chips were home made, and the toppings were fresh, very good. The second was breakfast, we are so excited to hear the biscuits and gravy were back, and we were not disappointed! the portions were ample, and the gravy did not disappoint, (not canned) large chunks of sausage is a velvety cream sauce. If I can figure out how I will post a picture. The third we split an order of a new item, the chicken sliders. Wow, amazing everyone at the table sampled and loved them. It is fried chicken breast sliced on a grilled bun (grilled in butter) topped with the same lovely sausage gravy! This evening we had the pizza, a new addition to the sidetrack repertoire . We had extra mouths to feed at home so we ordered two pizza's. The man ordered a bacon, sausage, pepperoni pizza, bacon was great a fabulous meat pizza. I ordered the Mediterranean pizza and was very pleased. I love artichokes, it was so refreshing to have a pizza where you could actually see and taste the artichokes! The chicken was in healthy chunks, and not skimpy in the amount at all. The mushrooms were real, not slimy from a can. wonderful! I am glad they have re-opened on such a grand scale. We will keep coming back, not just out of habit, but because the bar has been raised and conquered! read more

We started coming to the Sidetrack, as our other favorite place closed. This Bar is everything good, the clientele are all having a good time, the tables/seating is great (considering the Covid situation), the drinks are awesome, as well as the food and salad! Reasonable prices, too! And we can't say enough about the Bartender/Server girls. Usually there are only 2 (at least weekends), but they are really on top of everything. We came in once, and were at a cramped table. The Server comes to us, and led us to a larger table! We are in our 70s, so it was much appreciated! Everything by them was timed perfect. Drinks refilled quick, and the food - salad came first, then the meal, which is perfect for us. We are making the Sidetrack our "go to" place now. We always leave happy!! read more

It is clean, has plenty of televisions for sporting events and a great wait staff. The biscuits and gravy are amazing, and portions plentiful. We used to frequent this place before it closed last year. It had gone downhill not only in service and quality, but in the quality of people that were frequenting the place. Stopped in there the other night to find it very different and in a good way! The place has been completely revamped. Wood panels have been added to the walls, the bar is lit up diplaying the liquor properly, the bar has been restained and sectioned to provide a better flow, more tvs added and booths added as well. It looks like a entirely new bar. I was very pleased with the clean up and the bartender was extremely friendly and attentive. We will definitely be going back, keep up the good work! read more

Went to the Sidetrack last night with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend for a relaxed Saturday night dinner. We had heard that the place had been renovated and food was good. We ordered our drinks and then ordered a couple of appetizers while we were deciding what to have for dinner. It took at least 45 minutes to get our appetizers and when we did, one of them was practically cold. The potato skins had been sitting and the wings were not tossed in the buffalo sauce. It was served cold and in a dish along the wings.?????? We ordered our dinner a soon as the appetizers came and after another 45 minutes went by and after asking 2 times where the salads were we decided to get up and leave. This is the worst service I have every encountered. Never going back. read more

My husband and I heard about this place just after it reopened. Had never been to it previously and do not know what it was like then, but we have been to the newly remodeled and reopened Sidetrack several times, including their Brewer's Nights. Wow! Love this place. The minute we walked in the door we were greeted by the bartender Manda. What a great employee!! Not only did she welcome us, but her service was impeccable!! She's friendly, outgoing, and has a fabulous personality with everyone that enters this establishment! From the first time we entered to each and every visit, Manda makes recommendations on ale and food she knows we would enjoy. If you haven't been there yet, get on down, you won't regret it! FOOD..EXCELLENT! It was our first time in and unfortuantely our last. A customer whom we asume was an employee, had 2 small children in and let them run all over the place! Even put money in the pool table so they could THROW the balls on the table. No one made an attempt to get them under control! What a pleasurable experience! I am not from Kent, I was in the area and was hungry and I stumbled upon sidetrack after filling my gas tank up at the gas station and saw the bar in the same parking lot. As I entered I was greeted with a very warm welcome by the bartender who was the only one working apparently, wich was great just caught me by surprise not having any security or a door person . Even though the atmosphere was pleasant and fun there was no need for security and the bartender kicked butt and had it all under control. The food was excellent ! I recommend this place to anyone that is needing a good meal a cold drink and great company! My bartender name was Mrs.Chelsea. And let me tell you, what rockstar she is. She was so kind and not only that but she genuinely cares about her customers and the bar. She was just a breath of fresh air after a long not so amazing day i was having! The customers all seemed to know each other wich is also a sign of a good establishment when there is a sense of community within the bar .! This bar also has pull tabs and those are fun. After having the crappy Sunday i had, I was completely relieved and happy with how my night ended. I will definitely be back with my Wife next Sunday (tomorrow). I'd be giving one star if the cook wasn't entirely on point. the entire time the bartender was dickin around messing up drink/food orders, the cook was trying his hardest to get food cooked, and to the tables that ordered them. not the cooks job. I feel bad for the guy. she even sent him out, in the middle of cooking our tables order, to get supplies she had apparently run out of. we could all sense his frustration, and rightfully so. the food was pretty good. very large portions. the bloody mary's were kinda gross, but very strong. this lady is obviously high on something, very lackadaisical. I stopped going to this place. They have decent food, but you never know when they are going to be open. I went there 3 hours before they were supposed to close one night.
