Absolutely solid dive bar in downtown Renton. Great music at night but I mostly go here for lunch. Great service and great food. TV's all over the place which is really important for a sports bar. I'll start this review by saying I love the food at this establishment and the laid back vibe is what keeps me and my friends coming back! A bonus is Alta the bartender who is very helpful and accommodating! I've seen negative reviews regarding the service in this bar and I can say I've experienced that, but honestly the negative experience was due to the bar manager Allison not meeting the needs of the patrons. Twice I've had horrible service while she was working. After the last incident my friends and I decided to go elsewhere if she is working the bar! Hopefully ownership looks into the complaints regarding this employee. I know I'm not the only one! Just horrible customer service! read more

The first thing I have to say about the food from this place is WOW! After living in Renton for 3 years and running by it for a few months I can't believe I have never been here! The reviews on food were great and though the reviews on service sucked I still had to give the business a try. During these times supporting the local businesses is extremely important. The Bbq burger had homemade onion straws! I was so impressed! They made the burger over the top amazing. The buns are from the local Macrina and oh my yum altogether it was the most delicious burger I've had. The tots were delicious and crispy just the way I like them. My fiancé's spicy chicken burger had just the right amount of spice. The avocado was a nice and healthy surprise. Again the tots amazing! On mondays a regular hamburger is $7 so if you want something more simple go for it! We will definitely be back! Also, the service we received for our to go order was great! read more

Good food reasonable drinks and games. Unfortunately I didn't take photos of the food but we had bacon wrapped prawns and chicken nachos which were both good. The chicken nachos were seasoned well and included guacamole, salsa and sour cream. The only thing I didn't like was the chicken seemed to be all on one side instead of all over. The bacon wrapped prawns were ok but with the aioli sauce provided became way better. I would go back the crowd seemed lively and friendly. Service was good. read more

The sign outside says "JP's Barroom." It's in downtown Renton. It has a cozy fireplace, pool tables, pull tabs, and friendly staff. Hubby and I had the Angus burger and Spicy chicken sandwich. Hubby said his sandwich was the best he's had in a long time. My Angus burger was really good too. I experimented and put the cheese from the pretzel on it and I liked it even better. Burger extras are a little pricey, but times are tough right now for small businesses and it's honestly worth it. (Burgers aren't pictured because we were hungry.) Jalapeño poppers were really good and you get a generous portion. The pretzel was good too, just a bit dry. The AMAZING cheese that comes with it makes up for it. Pretty impressive place! Can't judge the place by the entrance area. The front states that it is a Tavern and it looks divey and beer only from the street view. But once you're inside, wow! This place is not only big! but it's pretty nice! I went to sit at the bar to catch up with an old friend of mine and it was a very nice atmosphere of friendly people from relaxed dressing to suits from the car dealerships near by. We sat right next to an intimate area in the bar that had a cozy fireplace and a very open atmosphere. Also, the music was just right in volume where you could hear and appreciate the sounds from nice clear speakers with a good amount of bass and still have a conversation with people! What perfect ambiance! The fries were nice and crispy...good trick too since they stayed crispy for over an hour! Rare fry experience for this boy but I liked it a lot! The pours are good here and the prices are also good! Love the space. The service was a bit spotty as the first half I was wondering why the lady hated me...and then realized that she didn't when she started to talk to us. I guess it's a straight forward bar. Easily one of my favorite watering holes in Renton. Its no fancy place but its not run down either. Heavy pours, occassional live music, pull tabs, pool tables, plenty of seating, dart board, punching machine, and a jukebox... oh and a kitchen that churns out greasy bar food. And drinks are less than $8 a pop while in seattle itd be $12. What more does one ask for out of a bar?? And parking is a breeze too. read more

We sat at a table next to the fireplace for 25 minutes before giving up on the guy ever coming for our order. We went to the bar (5 patrons) and ordered ribs and drinks. This place is great! It's local and an easy icebreaker with the crowds. We recently came in to watch a NBA final game. There was a group of 6 and we sat at a table this time. The place was packed. We usually receive great service at the bar where we normally sit. This time, one of the servers/bartenders was probably not having the best day. I get it, we all have those days. BUT, I wish there was no reason to not put a smile on her face or forget about us as many times as she did. We had to approach her at the bar to order our drinks and food, then to pay. We weren't so pleased with that, but all the other weekends we have gone, we were highly pleased with the food, music, and service. Security guys are on point as well. Been going to this place for years. Breakfast, lunch, happy hour never fails you get good food and service. My favorites are the nachos and burgers. Nachos are packed and not soggy on the bottom, like at some places. Burgers are fresh and hand made. Thick juicy and tasty. Whether you want drinks or beers they're good. Breakfasts are very good. Because I have been coming here back when it was Williams Ave Sports Bar, and they have the same cook who makes AMAZING burgers, sandwiches and bar food! It's a shame, but after years of patronage, I will no longer be frequenting this establishment. A couple of days ago, on Saturday November 3rd at around 11:00 pm, some friends and I stopped by for drinks and pool. Three of us went straight to the rail to get drinks and took our ids out. My buddy Brian went for the bathroom. This was Brian's first time there, so he asked an employee where it was located. That employee directed him to it, and instructed him to walk between the bar and the area where the pull tabs are located to get there. A different employee, whom I'm assuming is fairly new because I don't recall ever seeing him there before that night, started yelling at Brian as he made his way to the bathroom as instructed. This employee was a tall, overweight, white guy that's probably in his mid 40s. (To try and avoid confusion, I'll now refer to him as "Angry Guy" in this review.) The employee that directed Brian stepped in and let Angry Guy know that it was okay because he told him to go that way. Angry Guy said that that didn't matter, and continued to go off. It's not clear that that area is for employees only. Brian had no idea, and was even instructed to go that way. It looks just like a normal walkway. If non-employees aren't supposed to be back there, it would help if it was clearly marked. When I first started going there back in the day, I even made the same mistake. A female employee at that time, just informed me that I wasn't supposed to go back there, I apologized, she said it was okay, and that was that. That is how most reasonable people should, and would handle that situation. After Angry Guy was done making a scene about Brian walking through that area, he proceeded to violently snatch my id out of my hand, then literally threw it back at me, and rudely said "Are you going to order a drink or what?!" Needless to say, I didn't feel very welcomed at that point, so I told Angry Guy that I was just going to go somewhere else. He responded with "Good! Get the f*ck out!" No joke! Verbatim! Shocked and appalled, we quickly left and went to go check out Cheers across the street. After we left Cheers, Angry Guy noticed us walking by on the other side of the street and started flipping us off and gesturing towards us in a threatening manner, indicating that he wanted someone to come fight him! This really happened! No exaggeration! Talk about a psychopath! This guy doesn't know any of us! He didn't originally know that Brian was with us! The majority of our group went straight to the rail and promptly took our ids out, ready to order. This guy's behavior was uncouth and unjustifiable! It doesn't make any sense! I don't know if he was having a bad day. Maybe he was drinking on the job, and had a little too much at that point. Maybe he didn't like the way we were dressed. Maybe he just plain doesn't like brown people. Whatever the case may be, the way he acted that night was unacceptable! I understand that the environment there is pretty laxed, but that was all just utterly ridiculous! Unbeknownst to him, all of us currently work, or have worked, in the service industry for several years, and tip really well. Due to his actions, he missed out on a generous amount of quick and easy money. Also as a result, the business missed out on a couple hundred dollars that night, and will not be receiving the potential tens of thousands that would have been spent there by us over time if we would have continued to visit there if the future. It's too bad really. We've been going there for a long time and thoroughly enjoyed that place. I even performed there once, something like ten years ago or so. Luckily, there's a lot of other alternatives in the area that are much better options. It's still unfortunate that one person ruined for all of us forever now though. read more
