My girlfriend (who is also a military veteran with active combat service) is a Cajun girl at heart (born and raised in Louisiana) and even she was wondering why it was so dry and bland, we ended up having to season it ourselves just to get any taste out of it. We were provided some mystery syrup that even she couldn't tell what it was. The sampler itself was very mediocre in presentation for a barbecue restaurant. The brisket had to have been the worst thing to the entire sampler, it was tough, drier than roadkill on 81, and had absolutely no flavor or smoke to it. Just looking at it we could both tell it wasn't moist or smoked. The chicken was depressing in its own way and felt like a poor man's meal than what bbq should taste like, it was just as dry as the brisket and had no texture or flavor. The pork was disappointing, sure it fell apart like any pulled pork should but for it to lack any flavor was also not surprising either. The pink slaw was questionable on its own and certainly off putting to say the least. I've tried numerous spots in the dmv that were better tasting, better quality, and had staff that did make you fear for your safety after a bad review.
