Stopped in at Billy Sims BBQ for lunch and left seriously impressed! The star of the show was definitely the smoked chicken sandwich -- juicy, smoky, and piled high on a soft bun. I also grabbed a 1/4 lb of turkey, and it was absolutely amazing: tender, flavorful, and perfectly smoked. The hot BBQ sauce deserves a shout-out, too. It wasn't overly spicy but was packed with rich, delicious flavor that tied everything together beautifully. The only miss for me was the green beans, which didn't have a lot of flavor and fell a bit flat compared to the rest of the meal. Overall, I'd highly recommend Billy Sims BBQ for a great lunch. Go to place for a stuffed baked potato with brisket or the ribs. The other meat is just ok.

I visited the midwest location a couple days ago. I walked in and stood in front of a man behind the counter. He said to me the lady at the register will help me. A few minutes later a man walked in and stood in front of the man behind the counter. The behind the counter guy greeted him and asked what he wanted. When the lady at the register finished, she stood in front of me and I started giving my order. The man told her to get the man that walked in food so she left me and fixed his order. I felted really disrespected, ignored, and frustrated so I just left. I will never stop at the Midwest City location again and will not recommend to anyone. The employees at the Midwest City location should spend a day at the Edmond location to learn customer service. read more

What happened to Hello. Service world has changed. Ordered a backed potato with pork and a side of baked beans. I love to put my beans on top! Good size but server opened it up all the way and cut it flat. Still good just a little hard to eat without getting skin. After reading a few reviews I was just a little concerned, BUT, that quickly went away! The food was SOOOO good! We had the Loaded Spud and the Mac and Chili. The potato was spot on, the pulled pork was super tender and it was just flowing with butter. The Mac and Chili was straight up comfort food! Had a very pleasant dinner here last night. I wanted to go cuz I was craving their hotlink. They close at 8 and we got there around 7:25 and the staff was still friendly, patient, and didn't mind us dining in. (The house is under construction and we really just wanted to sit at a table) . We got the rack of ribs special with baked beans, corn on the cob, and baked potato salad. Also added 1/4lb of the hotlink(hot cheddar sausage). Everything was so good. The ribs were nice and tender and we could pick it up and eat it and didn't have to deal with them being over cooked and falling off the bone. The hotlink was delicious as usual. Sides were good even though I think I'll stick with regular potato salad next time. Loved the toast, pickles, peppers, and onions. Those pickles are so freaking good. The 4yr old just loves them. They used to be good. Tonight they sucked. The ribs were old and cold, the potato salad was horrible, the baked beans had a long piece of hair in them, and I was served sloppily in a to-go box. The man at the register took an extra dollar from my payment after I threw two tips in the tip jar. I will never go back there again. I don't know what happened; it's not Billy Sims anymore. They suck. The man at the register acted like he couldn't count with the customer in front of me. Then took one dollar of my money, after I threw two tips in the tip jar. I hated the experience. The good -the pulled pork was fantastic and I really liked the sauce. Our group also enjoyed the brisket and ribs. The not-so-good - Unfortunately the chicken was super dry and stringy. The sauce couldn't save it. :( I used it to make soup the following day, but that didn't even rehydrate it. We had a huge order, and I feel like maybe we got chicken from the day before. My family has eaten bbq all over the country, and we all love Billy Sims. Yes, it is a chain restaurant, but their food is consistently delicious across the several locations I have visited. I have visited this location many times, and I have even had them cater an event for us. We have never had a bad experience. Awesome, awesome, awesome. I cannot wait to go back on a Tuesday night for the all you can eat ribs. I had a half slab rib dinner and it was amazing. The meat fell off the bone literally! The dry rub was so good without being overppowering. I had mac and cheese for a side dish and it was so thick and creamy. I could have filled up on it alone. The service was excellent and fast. Overall I'm not a fan of chain barbecue restaurants, but when we are in the mood for a quick fix, Billy Sims will do. I've eaten at a handful of locations around the state, and generally the quality is on par with my expectations when I make a purchase. They're almost never busy, so I don't have to worry about waiting very long to pick up an order to go. The food is always hot and seems fresh. As with any bbq meal, I always go with a two meat combo. Their hot links are always good, as well as the chopped brisket and pulled pork. I'm particularly a fan of the naked potato salad, as it's more of a mayo-based potato salad. At least I know to expect that I'll get a decent bbq meal every time I go here, but in a state like OK, expectations are generally much higher when it comes to bbq. read more

I rarely go to BBQ places and haven't been to one in years. I really enjoyed this place though. I think the thing that does it for me is the BBQ sauce. They have an original and a hot one, which I couldn't taste the spiciness of it. They have the 2 bottles on the table, which I thought was awesome. I ended up getting the hot link BBQ, which was only average. The pulled pork burger however, was very good. They are very meticulous about measuring how much meat you get with your food. There is even a scale! I'm not sure how BBQ joint works but that's pretty crazy. The lady pulled off some pork from the burger just because it was a little bit over weight. Now that's pretty damn stingy! I didn't like any of the sides. It would be nice if they had fries or something. read more

While the food at Billy Sims BBQ is generally good, and reasonably fast to get in and out, there are TWO problems: 1. All too often, you are greeted with a sign on the door that states they are out of RIBS or some other meat. This happens WAY TOO OFTEN. . Someone want to teach their management how to anticipate volume on any givin day? 2. Their prices have increased faster than inflation. The charge an extra $2.00 or $3.00 for slice beef. Even when they are out of Ribs (see above) They also tend to run out of Corn on the Cob at the proverbial drop of a hat. The price of a two meat combo, with sliced beef and chopped beef (they were out of. . .) was around $20.00 Not bad, but not necessarily a great bargain either. This was our second choice as our first pick was closed for the holiday, the joys of family owned favs, I now wish I had went to Burger King instead. Lets start with price, the pricing is in line with all other BBQ joints you will find, the difference is the portion size. Usually when I order a combo meal with sides I am taking a decent portion home, not here and I had one of the wife's ribs as well. Next what should be the star of the show, the food. I ordered a two meat combo with sliced brisket and hot links. The brisket while lean was also dry as some jerky I have had and the portion was very, very small to boot. The link I admit was tasty and of course full sized however, the rub if you will was that both were not hot and honestly bordering on room temp, not good people BBQ should be hot and tasty. The wife had the ribs, a bit better on the temp and a nice dry rub but very small, do you use suckling pigs as your source or something because I have never had a rib this small. The sides were a saving grace however, and the chili honestly saved my brisket from ruination. The slaw is a very tasty, chunkier style mayo based slaw, good but definitely not the best around by any means. The green beans were very good however, home style hot and savory. All in all if you want to support an OU legend, go to JRs BBQ, if you want good, well priced BBQ in a great atmosphere there are hundreds of better choices. read more

I've never eaten at one of the Billy Sims BBQ places before so when this one opened up near work I decided to give it a whirl. It's where a Quizno's used to be and it didn't look like they changed too much inside other that logos etc. I had the pulled pork sandwich, some chips and sweet tea. The pork had a really good taste and awesome smell. Plus its not as fatty as another bbq joint down the road. There were two sauces on the tables: one hot, one mild. I tried each on half of my sandwich and can give two thumbs up to both. I still like the sauces at the "other place down the road" a little better though. As a bonus the iced tea (sweet!) actually tasted like it was brewed fresh. Not the best barbecue I've had, but a solid contender. And now I've got another tasty, non healthy place to enjoy lunch. The family was wanting barbeque, so at the suggestion of my father-in-law we tried this place. We ordered the Rib Zone pack for 39.99 (price does not include drinks, fyi). There were 4 of us and there was just enough food to satisfy us all. We ordered ribs, sausage, and turkey breast and for the sides we had potato salad and baked beans. The meal also came with a few slices of Texas toast. The food was REALLY good. The ribs were tender (although they could have used a little more seasoning, but the smokey flavor made it up for it). The sausage was awesome - it was very spicy, but the flavor was fantastic. The turkey breast was tender and plentiful. The sides were great as well. I am very hard to please when it comes to potato salad, so I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with theirs (it had just enough mustard in it). The baked beans were delish as well. Although the food was really good, the customer service was awful. I called and placed a pick up order. At any bbq place, they should include bbq sauce, however I specifically asked for them to add both spicy and regular bbq sauce on the phone. My husband picks it up, gets home and there is no sauce. So I call up there, and let them know. The employee gets the assistant manager, who, I kid you not, when I ask him to fix it, says "I'm just the assistant manager, there's nothing I can do." No bbq restaurant Togo order should leave the place without sauce, but the extreme rude behavior of the assistant manager was bullshit. And as an assistant manager, he should very well have the power to make accommodations for a customer whenever his employees made a mistake. My husband and I usually go out for dinner at least once every weekend. This weekend we ate at Billy Sims barbecue! What an awesome idea that was! We had a full rack of ribs with multiple choices of barbecue sauce to where we couldn't make up our mind. We took all three choices! I chose the hickory barbecue sauce best of all. Our sides were the Billy BBQ beans and the Baked potato salad. They were both fantastic! I had never had any baked beans taste so good! The baked potato salad was basically a baked potatoe without the hassle of having to prep a baked potato! I loved it! We also had a garden salad with the barbecue ranch dressing. Driving thru heading back to Chattanooga. We decided to stop in to try the BBQ. The pulled pork and sausage were out of this world. The BBQ beans were good but missing the sweetness. A little brown sugar would have made them top notch. BBQ ribs were ok. The chili had the consistency that I love but there was a spice I was missing. I couldn't figure out what was missing. It wasn't bad but he almost have it. BBQ needs more smoke. They were tender and had favor but just not enough smoke favor. I still think it's a good place to eat. It's clean. I'm going whole hog here with 4 stars for value, taste and convenience. Now my experience was with take home so cannot review the dine in experience. My son and myself picked up the Full Back (?) combo. We got a full slab with TX toast onions and greek salad peppers plus 2 regular sides of beans and coleslaw. Plus a bottled soda for around $25. The ribs were the best I've had at a restaurant since I've been back to OKC. Coleslaw was creamy and crunchy with a mayo base and sweet, good stuff. The beans were good but a little sweet for my taste and the hickory sauce I didn't try but my son said it was also a little too sweet. They have 2 other sauces to choose from so I'm sure you could find one of your liking. The ribs were flavorful enough that no sauce was needed. Nice bark and fall off the bone tender which is typical of restaurant smoked ribs. The St. Louis style ribs were well trimmed and some people would say small but that is actually how the ribs are supposed to be cut. This is not competition style BBQ like I cook at home but for value and taste and such a nice crew I will definitely go back.
