Portions can't be beat! Jacks is a hidden gem! We thought we'd try someplace new for BBQ for dinner. I got the two meat dinner with two sides. My bf got the 4 rib dinner. The portions and ribs were huge! Our sides were in 1cup serving cups and full. The broccoli slaw was my favorite. I'm not a fan of stewed green beans or canned because they can be mushy, but the beans were firm and tasty. They let us taste all the sides before we chose which was really nice. The bbq baked beans were sweet and the potato salad was good as well. We didn't try the banana pudding dessert, but it must be good, people are buying it in buckets to take home. The ribs are extremely meaty and the brisket was my favorite, but I'm a brisket fan. My only negative is that I wanted a pickle with my meal, but the server used the same tongs to grab the pickle as the pickled jalapeño and onions. Very tasty. read more

I'm not sure how many times I've driven by this place but because I had a late work thing, I decided to try dinner here today. Additionally, last week I read an article that said it was in the top 10 barbecue places in OKC. A friend and I joined me and we were both super impressed. We had the rib dinner and they were cooked to perfection. The sides I had were potato salad and green beans, which were both well done. The staff was super friendly and I appreciated how they answered all the questions that I had. I guarantee I will be going back to this place. read more

Been there a ton of times. this was the worst experience I've had. Ordered the 4 rib dinner with double Jacks potatoes. The ribs were pitiful the ends of a slab, burnt and 3 inch riblets that should never have been served. wait 25 minutes for my potatoes than have to go ask for them. which were over cooked and hard as rocks. got a drink, no coke got lemonade that tasted like someone lost a bandaid. Pitiful, last time they'll see me in there. Been going downhill for a while now. read more

Nope. Not again. I've been educated. Ordered 1/2 Smoked Chicken Dinner with BBQ baked beans and macaroni salad. Staff was pleasant enough, but should never have served me the product the did. Beans were passable enough, macaroni salad was the least it could be and still be named as such. The chicken portion was really small to start with, but I'd estimate that I could only eat about two ounces of it. The remainder (est. 85-90%) was over cooked and desiccated to a texture more tough and dry than beef jerky. It broke off along the muscle lines and could only be separated further by hand with great difficulty. And no, this is not just how smoked chicken is. I regularly get smoked chicken that is tender, juicy and flavorful at other places in the metro. This was not just distasteful, it simply could not be eaten. read more

Stopped here for a to-go order to take to a nearby park to eat. Pulled pork meal was excellent! The pork was so tasty that I hardly used any of the provided sauce (which was also good). Potato salad and baked beans were also great. There was enough food that I probably could have saved some for later if I had not been on my way to Weatherford. They packed the to-go order so that it stayed nice and warm even though I got lost on my way to the park! Service was very friendly and excellent. Highly recommend 2 meat dinner 2 people can share this meal. It was finger licking goooood. The ribs meat falls off the bone. Brisket super moist and tender punch full of flavor. Pretty good! Hubby looooooves this place. He's always had a pretty good experience here. CAme here about 30-45 minutes before closing but surprisingly service was pretty good! Ordered a combo plate with brisket and ribs, while sides are broccoli salad, jacks potatoes, and baked beans. Ribs weren't fall off the bone, but that's how I like my ribs. Not a bad little bbq joint. The Missus and I went to Jack's on a weeknight and there weren't too many people in the place. I had the chopped brisket with mac n' cheese and bbq beans for my sides. The mac n' cheese was delicious, rich and gooey... just the way I like it. The bbq beans had a little bit of a kick to them, but were also pretty good. The brisket was just okay. There was quite a bit of fat that could have been discarded in my portion, but the meat itself was nice and tender. The service was a little off. The people were friendly, but they mixed up our side orders. Not a deal breaker by any means, but something that was avoidable. The total for my entrée was $9, which is pretty standard for similar bbq joints around town. Overall, I wasn't disappointed, but I will look to try a new spot when I'm craving some bbq to go in the future. read more

I grew up on Jack's BBQ so its only fitting that I submit a yelp review. Jack's BBQ would always cater our high school football awards banquet. We all raved about the food and BBQ sauce after finishing up a meal! I was especially found of their tender ribs dipped with their spicy and sweet BBQ sauce. The workers have been holding it down for many moons providing BBQ food and service to greater Northwest OKC. Jack's BBQ is so iconic that the restaurant been featured on KFOR's "Is this a great state or what" highlighting the Okie Hospitality food and service. Patrons can always stop by here for a meal to discuss politics and sports. During my last visit to Jack's, when I resided in OKC, I brought the girl (who I was dating at the time) for dinner. Upon ordering I presented my credit card to pay. The worker stated they don't accept cards but we could eat here for free as long as we come back in the future. I'm guessing our free meal was not based on my good looks but to my girl's. Fortunately she was blessed and we did not pay for our meals. So lesson learned, bring cash or a hot date and you too can enjoy some Jack's BBQ! read more

Meh, eh. I am still a die hard Swadleys fan. I did not care for the bbq sauce. I found it a bit too vinegary, like more memphis style. The mac and cheese SUCKED. I found it inedible. The baked beans were pretty good. They were sweet at first and then a little spicy. The pulled pork wasn't bad. It wasn't dry. It wasn't fabulous either though. A great little BBQ place. The price is right and you can tell that they really take their time on there food. I ordered their smoked links, ribs, and mac&cheese. Everything was delicious. Excellent brisket. Didn't waste time on sides. Got the lb of brisket and it was really good, best I've had in OKC thus far. I'm still looking for great as these Oklahoma restaurants seem to be short on bark or a heavy smoke flavor. This was solid, nonetheless. This is by far the best sauce I've found in OKC as well. Man, that BARK...........and we are NOT talking about trees here! This place has been here awhile. It's a reincarnation reopening from years ago. Supposedly same recipes. I think it's improved from when they first reopened. Try the ribs! Meaty. Bark from smoke. Great rub. Tender but not mushy boiled tender. Good rub so the ribs were tasty even without sauce. But I like sauce so I enjoyed tasting them both ways! BBQ Beans had a little bit of added meat to them. Very good.......not great. But very good. Other sides were quite adequate. And they toast BOTH sides of the bread as one famous BBQ blogger thinks adds to a places "Panache' " LOL I don't think you can go wrong with trying 'cue at this place. I've had some decent food at Jack's Bar-B-Q, particularly a great loaded baked pototo with smoked pulled pork. This is a good place to go to when you have a craving for a loaded baked pototo with meat. It's not perfect (there isn't enough smoke flavor on the smoked meat), but it is still good bbq. Jack's Bar-B-Q is truly a small business, with approximately 6 booths and four 6 top tables. It is clean and the staff is friendly. You can call in your order for pick-up and have it ready in a few minutes. If you dine in, you order up front similiar to how you order at deli sandwich places. You can choose different meats and sides, most of it already on display in the case up front. If you dine in, you have the option of adding relish, peppers, or pickles to your order. They have BBQ sauce at the tables, but if you pick up your order you can also get a small container of the mild BBQ sauce or spicy BBQ sauce. The spicy BBQ sauce isn't really hot but it does have a nice gradual warming heat to it. They have a standard coke fountain as well as a small fridge with Crush strawberry and orange, A&W root beer and Mountain Dew. There is also unsweet and sweet tea available. Jack's offers daily specials and sell its smoked meats by the pound if you are super hungry or trying to feed a crowd. Overall, their prices are fair and make a great lunch deal. read more

My husband and I went to Jack's for lunch today. The line was pretty long and we were at the back. The older woman working the counter called me over handed me two drink cups and told me to get our drinks since we were at the back of the line. When I turned around my husband was sitting at a table. I told him we still needed to be in line to order our food. He said the same older woman told him to go ahead and sit down, she knew our place in line and would call us. We did as we were told but talked about how weird it was that we were to only customers she did anything like this. We kept watching as other customers came in and got in line. When it should have been our turn to order she didn't call us but took the next person in line. Already feeling weird for being treated differently to begin with we felt doubly weird now so we left. I certainly hope this didn't happen because I was wearing a jacket with the name of the law enforcement agency I work for on it. I sure can't think of any other reason. My husband and I came here on a week night. It wasn't very busy, but the two staff seemed a bit unorganized and overwhelmed. Call in orders, perhaps? The have everything set up cafeteria style in how they serve you. There are lots of sides to choose from, but the two I had just weren't that good. I had the "famous" garlic slaw and broccoli salad. The slaw had way too much liquid like it needed to be drained. I absolutely loved the ribs though. They had a great flavor and amount of meat. I'd be happy to get ribs here again, but maybe skip out on the sides because the others didn't look that appetizing either. He was extremely rude, said it was expired and that they do not accept them and I will never go there again.
