We came here tonight specially for my belated birthday celebration. I've had the privilege of dining at Billy's in the past, but tonight's visit was even more exceptional! We had a gorgeous table right by the window for the ocean view. Aaaahhh, Florida living really never gets old! Our man waiter Brandon really upped the ante with his super fun theatrics! What a personality, like dinner & a show! He steered us right and I had a key lime pie martini. Hubby had a grey goose martini. Highly recommend either! We got what we came for: stone crab is truly the star of the show! They are so sweet and pair delectably with the house mustard sauce. It's Seafood heaven on a plate! I chose a side of bacon Brussels sprouts to share. Yowza it's gooood! Just when I'm ready to call it a night, our man Brandon does it again! He shows up with a birthday plate of my very favorite authentic Florida Key Lime pie with a candle! Pie perfection! Martini + stone crab + key lime pie=Best meal on earth! Nothing tops fresh Florida Stone crab, and Billy's is KING here! We always leave satisfied and happy. Thanx, Billy's! Thank you all for following me, Happy yelping in 2026! ~Tami in Miami

First stop for dinner in Hollywood and im happy we came here! Its a cute place, and we sat outside even though it was raining, their patio is covered! Everything we ate was really good! We started with the Calamari, Greek Salad, and Stone Crab Claws! Every bite was phenominal! My daughter got a chicken alfredo which was actually really good, and then we finished it off with the Keywest entree and the fish was cooker perfectly! Please note the portions are huge! One thing I want to highlight is the service! We had the best waitress and she helped us with our choices and was very attentive. Id come back because of this experience! Overall Food & Vibe -

Billy's is truly an upscale seafood restaurant. We took our boat to Billy's for Valentine's Day and were greeted with helping hands by the outside dining staff who assisted us at the dock. Brandon was superb!!!! I can't remember the last time I had a server be attentive, knowledgeable, polite, and give each table the same service. He knew all the market pricing and quantities of the seafood and made wonderful recommendations - he is a stellar server. I wish I took more photos! the mussels were delicious and the lobster bisque was excellent as well as the clam chowder (the fresh bread pairs well with the soup). For our entree, we shared the 5 large crab claws and jumbo shrimp with a side of potatoes (large enough for the table). Thank you Brandon and management for a great dining experience.

    The tower

Billy's Stone Crab is iconic for a reason -- and honestly, there's almost nothing more to say except this: order the full seafood tower. We didn't think it would be enough food. We were very wrong. It was more than plenty and absolutely unbelievable. The tower comes out as a massive three-tier presentation that immediately turns the entire restaurant toward your table. We had people openly staring with jealousy. The jumbo shrimp cocktail were huge, the oysters were fresh and perfect, the stone crab was exactly what you want it to be, and the warm king crab legs dipped in as much butter as your heart desires were next-level. We started with the lobster bisque, which was a great appetizer (with bread dipped in) -- but had no idea what we were getting ourselves into once the seafood tower arrived. Total showstopper. My husband originally wanted to try the bouillabaisse... but completely forgot about it after demolishing the seafood tower. Zero regrets. If you're going to Billy's, don't overthink it. Go all in. Order the tower.

The ambience is just divine! Gorgeous view of the intercoastal. The staff are so professional and pay such close attention to your every need. I can't even describe how good the food is. Come to the restaurant being prepared to eat a lot! The portions are generous and plentiful. You do not feel rushed while eating here. You're encouraged to take your time and enjoy the experience. Huge wine list and excellent cocktails are offered as well. Valet parking available.

We made reservations a week before on their website to avoid a wait and try to get a nice view. The staff delivered a great experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived we were impressed. We came to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. Service was exceptional and our server. Michael, was attentive before we even asked for a refill. His dinner suggestions were impeccable. We chose that all you can eat stone crab, Cesar salad with added anchovies, and calamari. The view was so romantic and picturesque.

Best waiter in Brandon. Place is so much better than Joe's! Fresh and sweet stone crabs! Ask for a view by the water. Great restaurant!!!

Not sure if they offer anything other than Valet but we did pull into the valet spot. There were also individuals who came on a boat and docked at the restaurant to eat. Immediately greeted by several individuals who were super friendly. We came here close to when they opened on a Sunday and were offered several options, inside, outdoor patio or the dock little cabanas which we opted for. We were shown the seafood options on a tray and the pricing. We chose to get the side of Brussel Sprouts and the Half Seafood Tower. The Brussel Sprouts were nice and crispy and had a delicious bacon flavor with a bit of spice. Seafood Tower was amazing and Jason M was absolutely amazing. There were a handful of individuals who waited on us but Jason was personable, friendly and top tier service. He went above and beyond. Stone crabs, crab legs and shrimp were exceptional and the oysters had a good flavor. I didnt love the crab meat and the lobster was a smidge overcooked but they replaced it with no issues. There were also individuals who came on a boat and docked at the restaurant to eat. Beautiful spot for a weekend afternoon, I definitely recommend and would come back!

The setting was surprisingly serene. We sat outside in the evening watching the tarpon zip by and the illuminated water under the deck light them. I love a good stone crab and their seafood (stone crab, scallops, and lobster were all great. They're doing renovations inside so I thought it was nothing more than a little quaint outdoor dining space UNTIL after the meal when I went to use the restroom upstairs and saw the full bar and restaurant- really surprised me.

I've been a loyal Joe's Stone Crab fan for decades, but honestly, it just isn't what it used to be. The vibe feels touristy, and the food, while still decent, the atmosphere lacks the excitement it once had. Enter Billy's in Fort Lauderdale -- for me a fresh, lively take on the classic stone crab experience. Let's talk menu: while so many reviews focus only on the stone crabs, there's so much more worth exploring. I tried the smoked fish dip, and while the menu used to list mahi‑mahi, mine came with wahoo, and it was outstanding -- perfectly smoky, flavorful, and generous enough to share. The menu shows real attention to detail and variety, from starters to mains, and every bite felt elevated. Service was spot-on, attentive without being overbearing, and the portions were generous. It's clear Billy's is carving its own identity while honoring the classics. If you're tired of the old Joe's routine, this is the new spot to check out -- the new Joe's, but better. I was discussing Joes with our waiter and he shared some interesting history. While Billy's stands on its own as a fresh, lively seafood destination, it's interesting to note the historic ties to Joe's. Founder William "Billy" Hershey once worked at Joe's and was married into the Weiss family that owns Joe's. After the marriage ended, he struck out on his own -- starting a seafood market in1975, then moving into restaurant operations, eventually opening Billy's Stone Crab in Hollywood Beach in1995. This lineage gives Billy's a subtle sense of continuation from the legacy of Joe's, yet with a modern twist and its own personality.

Ask the Community - Billy's Stone Crab Restaurant

    Is there a dress code?

No dress code just casual attire

Can you bring your own wine, if so what is the corkage fee?

Hello, Yes you can. There is a $25 corkage fee

Hi do they have a happy hour?

Hi there - been going here for 15 years but I've never seen them advertise for happy hour. However just sitting outside watching the water and boats go by is priceless! Plus you can't beat the stone crabs!

Are there vegan options? If so, what are they?

Not really, seeing as though it's a seafood house. I know they have salads but it's heavy on seafoods, steaks and the like. I would call directly to see if they could accommodate you. Also, the menu is posted on their website.

If you're dining solo, is there a bar you can eat at, or do they place single diners at tables? Thanks!

There is a bar upstairs which you may walk up to and order if you are lucky to find a seat. Great place and hope you enjoy the experience.

I just want some crab claws or crab legs cooked, and delivered. Any idea?

You can pick up stone crabs, king crab legs and all of the sauces and sides and more at the market on the bottom floor of the restaurant. For takeout. Lower prices than in the dining room too. Make sure to tip the guys

Can someone please tell me how to make a reservation ? I've called for two days and can't get anyone…

No reservations. Show up & feast like a king!
