After spending several days on Hollywood Beach for my Birthday weekend with uncooperative weather, we chose to walk in to Billy's and grabbed a few seats at the bar. Initially the ambience was nice and inviting, aside from the ice box temperature, but things soon changed for the worse. If you find yourself expecting any ounce of superb service, turn around and go straight to a Chik Fil A. The food will be tastier and the staff warmer and actually happy to serve you. I believe our Bartender/Server may need to retire. Seemed annoyed from the onset that we chose to sit at her bar. Apparently you must beg her for water and food dropped off without even acknowledgment. No offer of any other bar service, doing side work when the bar is full of customers and the Piccata seemed like boiled chicken served on a wet sock. and to top it off - Bar keep comes back with a smile at the end to ask if we wanted a to go box and a bill of $134 for mediocre cuisine. We came here tonight specially for my belated birthday celebration. I've had the privilege of dining at Billy's in the past, but tonight's visit was even more exceptional! We had a gorgeous table right by the window for the ocean view. Aaaahhh, Florida living really never gets old! Our man waiter Brandon really upped the ante with his super fun theatrics! What a personality, like dinner & a show! He steered us right and I had a key lime pie martini. Hubby had a grey goose martini. Highly recommend either! We got what we came for: stone crab is truly the star of the show! They are so sweet and pair delectably with the house mustard sauce. It's Seafood heaven on a plate! Trying to shake the stress, we headed to Billy's Stone Crab in Hollywood Beach. I ordered a perfectly made dirty martini with blue cheese olives. As I slowly sipped and let myself unwind, thoughts of the storm, the cancelled flight, and my son battling the snowdrifts gradually faded into the background. We started with Billy's famous stone crab and oysters on the half shell. The sweet, firm, tender meat was an absolute delight -- fresh, clean, and indulgent in the best way. For our entrées, I ordered the New York strip, medium rare, and my wife chose the Chilean sea bass. The steak was perfectly grilled -- charred on the outside, juicy and flavorful inside. The bite of sea bass she let me try practically melted in my mouth, buttery and delicate. We ended the evening by splitting a slice of key lime pie. Each bright, citrusy bite brought images of sunshine and tropical breezes to mind -- a sharp contrast to the snow-covered world waiting for us back home. Billy's is truly an upscale seafood restaurant. We took our boat to Billy's for Valentine's Day and were greeted with helping hands by the outside dining staff who assisted us at the dock. Brandon was superb!!!! I can't remember the last time I had a server be attentive, knowledgeable, polite, and give each table the same service. He knew all the market pricing and quantities of the seafood and made wonderful recommendations - he is a stellar server. I wish I took more photos! the mussels were delicious and the lobster bisque was excellent as well as the clam chowder (the fresh bread pairs well with the soup). Immediately greeted by several individuals who were super friendly. We came here close to when they opened on a Sunday and were offered several options, inside, outdoor patio or the dock little cabanas which we opted for. We were shown the seafood options on a tray and the pricing. We chose to get the side of Brussel Sprouts and the Half Seafood Tower. The Brussel Sprouts were nice and crispy and had a delicious bacon flavor with a bit of spice. Seafood Tower was amazing and Jason M was absolutely amazing. There were a handful of individuals who waited on us but Jason was personable, friendly and top tier service. He went above and beyond. Stone crabs, crab legs and shrimp were exceptional and the oysters had a good flavor. I didnt love the crab meat and the lobster was a smidge overcooked but they replaced it with no issues. WOW. The service was great from when we first walked in. We were greeted by what I think was a manager and then the hostess. Our table wasn't ready, waiting for a couple to get up to sit by the water on the second floor. So we went to the bar to grab a quick drink. Then the manger said our table was ready a few moments later and brought our drinks to our table. Once we sat down we were greeted by our waitress and she went over the seafood and meats. Then we ordered drinks and got appetizers. Which were so good and fresh and flavorful. The Rockefeller oysters are a must!! Then we had gotten complementary bread and homemade butter which was amazing. We had gotten a table by the water on the second floor and it was a great view watching the boats go by and also dock. Our waitress was so kind and very attentive. We then ordered our entrees - the seafood pasta Alfredo, chefs kiss! My husband's food was also extremely good and fresh. We couldn't even finish because we were stuffed lol. We then got hot towels for our hands and we were given key lime pie on the house due to a miscommunication - which was greatly appreciated since we were celebrating our anniversary! After we paid we went to valet to get the car and I ventured off to the dock to see the tarpon. I was greeted by an employee and he asked if I wanted to feed them - ummm yes !! I've been to many places for stone crab and there's always something that turns me off from bad mustard sauce to improperly cracked claws but Billy's was excellent. We came early for dinner, around 4pm and there were a few people inside but plenty of space. We ordered large claws with creamed spinach and hash browns. Everything was delicious. Ordered a slice of key lime pie at the end which was great. Only downside is the ambiance and service aren't as excellent as the well known competitor on south beach. I always make a point of ordering at least one fried seafood platter when on vacation in Florida and I've had MANY. The seafood combination platter at Billy's is the BEST I've ever had. The breading was light and crispy without a lot of oil. Scallops, oysters, shrimp, and mahi were all cooked perfectly. The scallops were my favorite (pictured second from the right). My husband had the scrimp scampi and said it was good, but he was not as impressed as I was. We had the lobster Mac and cheese side to share and it was enough to feed a whole family. We barely made a dent in it after the beautiful portions for our main dish. Next time I would skip the sides or order something else. The atmosphere is beautiful and the views are stunning! We love a good outside dining area and this did not disappoint. We will be back for sure! read more

The waitstaff is attentive, especially Michael, who always takes the best care of us. You truly can't beat a fresh seafood meal here, and the Key lime pie is a must (the only place I'll eat it). Their cocktails are pure mixologist perfection, and the outdoor seating makes it the perfect place to enjoy with friends or loved ones. I am not a huge fan of mustard, but the delicate mustard flavor combined with the other ingredients in the blend made it the perfect topping for the stone crab claws! Added a Caesar salad ($12) and the warm rolls with honey butter (complimentary with the meal) - and you will enter into taste bud heaven! Loved the service, so attentive and responsive. They even bring you a warm towel to your table at the end. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area! They also deliver overnight shipments of seafood! Check them out!! So my go to when I'm in the area is usually GG's waterfront. But this particular day there was a long wait for dinner. So we went next door to Billy's. It had been many years since, before all the renovations. It was very nice. The water views were beautiful anywhere you sat. We started our meal with the seafood tower, everything was super fresh and tasty and the crab meat stuff mushrooms delicious. The lobster tail with lump crab entree was made to perfection along with the king crab legs and of course the Stone crabs. And the top off was a decadent baklava and pistachio cheesecake. Amazing. The portions were plentiful and delicious. I had 6 stone crab claws which were already chilled, cracked upon presentation and were so fresh. The side dishes (calamari, spinach and stuffed mushrooms) were to share for table, and were flavorful (especially the creamy spinach!) The staff was so pleasant and provided only the utmost attentive service possible. The only downside to my experience here is the parking. You have no choice but to valet park your car, and the parking lot is quite tiny - every inch of that lot is utilized to accommodate all the cars coming in. read more

We usually go there for their kind crab and snow crab because so far from every place we have tried they always have the freshest and sweetest crab. Anything you order on their menu is very tasty. We had a lovely meal outdoors on the water. It was magical, watched the sunset. Our server was patient and lovely. We split the Cesar salad (excellent - soggy croutons but like it's 90% humidity here) to start. Then we split the shrimp cocktail (6 shrimp, best cocktail sauce ever, you can mix in the amount of horseradish you prefer), and the select size stone crab (6 pieces). I mentioned I preferred drawn butter rather than mustard sauce, and our server said oh of course I will bring both. It was the best stone crab I have ever had. Yes it's expensive (versus, for example, our regular stone crab place Deep Lagoon in Fort Myers). But it was so well cracked, and the struggle it sometimes takes to eat stone crab lessens the experience. Also the bread! It had a key like butter that will haunt my dreams.
