While in the area made a stop at Gioia. My husband saw that this place has gluten free pizza and calamari so we had to give it a shot. The calamari arrived and it was flavorful , just wish it had a bit of texture but it was good as is and the marinara was served warm and it was really good with the calamari. Pizza was prepared in a wood fire oven. Upon serving noticed the pizza looked amazing but the texture and taste of the pizza was amazingly good. I was obsessed with the pizza crust, I miss the occasional crust from regular pizza so this made it well worth it. Only downside, there was a $5 up charge for all GF items. This place has good service, the waitstaff made sure to check up on us and made sure we had a great 1st time experience. I now know where to find a great GF pizza. read more

Delicious fresh made pizza crust!! Worth the splurge and gluten intake. The boutique Italian wine selection is also worth exploring. We have tried a couple of different pizzas and they melted in my mouth. Again, it's the dough and technique and also how you enjoy your pizza. The staff are all very attentive and the pizza boss is always working and socializing in the open kitchen. He is very friendly and has a great restaurant concept here! Wish they open one in miami. Ducked in the first time because this place is in my area of operations and I like the scout the places in my neighborhood. And then I started a walking food tour in downtown Hollywood and was fortunate enough to get these guys as a stop. Here is why I love the place: * Chef Stamerra is a global Champion Pizza Maker. He's Italian and arguably the most qualified pizza chef around. He also teaches pizza-making, acrobatically. * His partner, Chef Gio, trained under a Michelin Star Chef for many moons. * They offer a ton of pizzas, but also seafood, pasta, and steak. * They also offer everything gluten-free. * They make all their desserts in house. * And their Limoncello. * Full liquor bar. * Impressive wine list. So I recently tried the Friarielli Pizza, it had mozzarella, wild brocoli, and sausage. It was a hit. Their Black Truffle Calzone is amazing. The list goes on. Ummmmm, I can't remember when I had gourmet pizza that was really gourmet. And at a place where the ambiance matched that gourmet experience. Gioia Eat in Hollywood FL, is just that kind of place. It is small/intimate and there is both in door and out door seating. We came here for a late lunch on Saturday. We had actually planned to go to Pizza Rustica, not realizing that the Hollywood location had closed. So thank you Yelp for helping me with a plan B. The plan B was a way better choice than my plan A. Gioia Eat is elegantly decorated and the food is absolutely delicious. We started with drinks, wine and craft beer. I also had a scotch here which was quite good. They gave us bread for dipping and they had a spicy olive oil sauce which was other worldly. I actually got some to go. Our appetizer was calamari and shrimp. It was very lightly breaded, very fresh and quite delicious. For mains, we ordered a kids pizza, a pizza with salmon, yes salmon, it was awesomesauce, and a pizza with bacon, yummmm. Please see the pictures for the names of the pizzas. They were really really really good. Wish I had saved room for dessert because they had a dessert fridge when you first come in and thise desserts sure did look good. Gioia Eat is a hidden gem of Hollywood. I've been craving lasagna for a long time and it was well worth it. The service was impeccable and they accommodated our every need. Our son eats gluten free and he had a Pizza Baby with pepperoni ( he's usually picky with his food but he finished his little pie). We got there early and there was no wait. The ambiance is chill with music that reminded me of 2006 techno. (Where's my rave sticks lol) To start we had Brischetta Tricolore and Calamari Fritti. Forgot to take a photo and by the time I remembered it was gone. We also had gluten free bread that honestly tasted way better than the traditional bread you get at an Italian restaurant. The food reminded me of little Italy in NYC so it's was flavorful. We ended the day with cappuccinos and I had probably the best cannoli I've eaten in a long time. Good place at most one of my favorites. The location is in Hollywood circle and inside the decor is so cool complete w the owners picture in his championship Pizza tossing worldwide and metals and Italian decor and video playing all the time. The pizza menu is vast and so many good choices ! All original and some created by him. We had some really good ones the spicy pepperoni is awesome the sauce the crust I mean on point . Wow...I don't know where to begin the food is AMAZING!! We started off with the shareable pizza and added cheese. The we got the Calamari and Panzerotti (which reminds me of Italy where I tried Panzerotti the first time). Calamari was spectacular and the Panzerotti was crispy and cheesy! I got the Bolengese and wow, the taste is amazing, I am rather picky but this is phenomenal!! Of course we had to finish with the panna cota and oh my gosh it was so smooth and creamy. The perfect ending to a spectacular meal. I cannot recommend this place enough. I will be coming back ASAP. Excited having this authentic Italian place right in Hollywood. What a fabulous new spot a long the Hollywood Young Circle. My in laws are Sicilian and raved about this restaurant Gioya they had already been back to eat 2-3 times and are so picky. We started with the appetizer bruschetta , a couple eggplant parm dishes and calamari to share. Everything was excellent. The pizza we ordered two to split. They were delicious and so perfect. The owner had proof of his trophies in the office of making the best pizza and it is a great crust and the recipe is delish! We had the porcini and truffle pizza with Burrata cheese. What a dram this pizza was melt in your mouth amazing! I really enjoyed all of the food I had that night that I had to come back for my birthday and have a nice dinner ! after work, i was on my way to a friends house and called for a pick up order. i had never been here before, but it was in proximity to my destination. the actual location of the store is in this kind of weird parking lot, with a small entrance, around a bend, so go slowly or you will miss it. ordered the margarita pizza, and calamari. the order was ready by the time i got there, which was about 10 mins from when i called. for the rest of my drive, the entire car smelled like sourdough, but thats ok, lol. pizza was still warm and gooey when i arrived, and tasted delicious. i would definitely get it again if i'm in the area. the calamari looked undercooked, but we put it in the air fryer for 5 mins and it didn't look any different. tasted okay, just a tad too greasy for me. i would not get it again. i wish they had mozzarella sticks !!! read more

Unfortunately, subsequent visits have not been as successful. The worst of which being today. The atmosphere was incredibly uncomfortable. We watched some jabroni argue with waitress and be beyond rude. All while the famous pizza maker and his partner (assuming wife and business partner) just stood there. He was so loud everyone in the restaurant turned to watch, yet no one intervened on her behalf. It was depressing. She maintained her sweet and pleasant demeanor none the less. Later we observed the pizza maker commenting that this single server was not cleaning up fast enough. Then the owners got into an argument behind the bar. Being a passionate Italian is one thing, this was another. The food was also a miss. The pizza was soggy and lacked flavor. There is no longer a happy hour and their cocktails are significantly overpriced and under served. If I had not appreciated this place before, I would be giving it a lower rating and never coming back. We decided to maybe try take out next time and take our chance. read more

Impeccable restaurant. The vibes are serene, but the food is BOLD. I had their fried calzones, mozzarella sticks, würstel pizza (German sausage) and prosciutto e funghi pizza. Every bite was bliss bruh. The calzones and mozarella sticks were clearly fresh made, flavors POP, you can taste every ingredient and it's magnificent. The mozarella sticks breading was MAGNIFICENT. I DIDNT KNOW YOU COULD MAKE THEM TASTE SO PERFECT GOD DAMN!!! The pizzas clearly crafted with love, passion and expertise. Again, you should know by now it's all the most fresh tasting pizza you'll get anywhere. The mushrooms are very flavorful and bold, so if you love mushrooms well you know what to do. My order was initially messed up, just a missed input by the waitress no biggie, when I alerted her they did everything possible to make it right, they fixed my order immediately and were very sweet about it. Honestly have never seen such great customer service in Florida. 100/10 I had their cappuccino, and it was superb. Panna cotta? Delicious. Also had this wine they offered: DELICIOUS. My friend found this place while searching for gluten free option and another review said it was the best gluten free pizza she ever had. We gave it a try and it was fantastic! The service was friendly and efficient. I had a pizza with bacon, fig jam, cheeses and arugula and my only critique was that I wish the bacon was in smaller pieces. But other than that, both of our gluten free desserts were terrific (tiramisu and lava cake). My friend had cocktails while I had Italian beer. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed! read more

We have now been here a few times. We have recently moved in the neighborhood and we are trying out and supporting the local restaurants. I am also in the wine biz and been trying to meet owner which he hasn't been available. Last time my wife and I were there for dinner it wasn't busy but he wasn't available not even to say hello. Not good being a local residence and being there a few times at least say hello. That left a bad taste with us. Pizza is ok. Spanish server is a real nice guy. Solid place for an Italian food craving. We ordered the chef salad with heart of palm, seafood pizza, and pasta with a bolognese sauce. All three hit the spot. The only thing I wish was better was if the bread they served you before the food was fresh and hot out of the oven. They also give chili oil on the side with the usual parm shaker, salt, and pepper. We stopped with my wife who is coeliac. We always have a hard time finding restaurants with a selection of gluten free items. Not only they have a great selection of pizza, pasta salads and deserts, but they do everything in house and the gluten free menu is simply incredible. My wife had the GF spaghetti ai frutti du mare and I had the regular Capriciosa pizza. If you're ever in the area, it's worth the stop. I arrived shortly after the status said ready- waited for at least 10 minutes while multiple staff passed by acknowledging me but not helping. When the host finally went back to the kitchen area to get my order it was stone cold. On the Capricciosa pizza, the ham topping was way overloaded and the rest sparse. I hate doing bad reviews but the service here was awful. When we arrived we were quickly seated outside. Once seated we had to wait 15 minutes and ask 3 different servers if we could order drinks, which is ridiculous. Once we finally got service to order drinks, the server recommended the premium Pinot Grigio, once the wine was finally served (after sitting for 20 minutes), the server informed me that they were out of the wine suggested. Confused why they would suggest a wine that they do not have ? Anyways, we ordered the burrata and asked for side of bread, the burrata was delicious but the bread did not come until 10 minutes after receiving the burrata. For dinner we order the gnocchi and reg and gluten free marg pizza, the gnocchi was flavorless and chewy. Both of the pizzas were delicious, but I don't think I will be returning due to the poor service. read more

We were visiting during a short vacation and found Gioia while looking for gluten-free dairy-free options for pizza. For those of you with these restrictions in your diet, you already know that eating pizza is complicated at best. You can count on one hand the number of places which provide gluten-free dairy-free pizza, and they are usually a very poor imitation compared to traditional brick oven pizza. This is where Gioia is different, and it blew our minds! The chef has done the seemingly impossible and made a gluten free dough with elasticity, light crunch on the outside, and softness on the inside. The vegan mozzarella paired with the (noticeably) house made tomato sauce also felt completely "real". There were multiple times during our dinner when I was telling my date that this simply cannot be gluten free... That's how "real" the pizzas turned out. I am not exaggerating when I say it was multiple orders of magnitude better than the next best gluten-free dairy-free pizza we've ever had - anywhere. It's not just that it was better than other pizzas with these restrictions though, it was just as tasty as any other brick oven pizza without these restrictions. This is why I am writing this review, to make sure that people with restrictions know about a place where they can get traditional tasting brick oven pizza and enjoy that experience again to its fullest.
