My husband loves Billy's Italian sub, so that's why we order one a few times a year for the past six years. Like other reviewers have said, however, the staff is in serious need of training. It tastes different almost every time we order it: sometimes it has lots of onions, sometimes a little. The quantity of meat is usually pretty generous, but not always. We always ask for them to add mayo and please put tomatoes on the side. Sometimes we get mayo, and most times they forget the tomatoes. It happened again just yesterday. The bread is consistently good, so at least they have that going for them. I had a slice of their pizza a few years ago. I remember it being decent, however, there are many better pizza joints in the area. read more

I'm so surprised this place doesn't have higher reviews. This is a favorite of mine (and my parents love it too)-- the subs are great for a beach lunch and their pizza is classic NY style with fresh ingredients. It's fast and accessible (plenty of parking). Definitely note that it is more of a take out place than a sit down restaurant. Consider giving it a try next time you're in north OC! read more

Most authentic NY Style Pizza in the area! This is truly a sub shop that could compete in NY or NJ or Philly! IRONICALLY, as I'm posting this I called in and then went in and instead of helping a person that comes here in the "OFF-SEASON" and them making to order, they found excuses on WHY THEY WONT MAKE WHAT I WANTED AND IT WAS JUST A LIL RED SAUCE ON A CHEESESTEAK. This is a hole in the wall that has kind service and serves great food! We got a pepperoni pizza, an Italian sub, and a cheesesteak for two kids and three adults, and we had leftovers. My daughter put her one quarter into packman, only to realize that it cost $0.50 and the staff gave her a quarter. We will be back! read more

Swear this place was a lot better a while back. It's horrible now. Just got a cheesesteak that had almost no meat in it. The sandwich was 95% bread and lettuce. Almost all the cheese on the sandwich got stuck to the parchment paper. Couldn't separate the cheese from the parchment paper so had to take it pretty much all off. Fries were severely undercooked. Not to mention this place has ridiculous prices. Employees also seemed pretty clueless. Really hoping you guys can step it up read more

If you can get what you ordered it's pretty darn good. They seem to be having issues getting the orders or I'm not sure what the problem is. A few weeks ago I ordered a pizza. They said they were backed up and it would be an hour. I said ok. An hour goes by and i went to pick up the pizza. They found the order but hadn't made the pizza. Today I order a steak and cheese sub. They are the best, but today I got home and found hamburger in a sub roll. They weren't even busy. How does that get screwed up? read more

NEVER GO HERE. This was a horrible decision that I will always regret for the rest of my life. We got about 4 onions sliced into our food including a Cesar salad. We have been customers of Billy's for many years at the 139th street store. We usually do not write reviews, but the last time we where there on Wed. March 24th we called in an order. It was a whole cheese steak sub with everything but hots. We were told it would be ready for pickup in 15 to 20 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later and it was ready, paid for the sub and left. Before I got to my car to drive home, the sub was falling out of the wrapper which turned out to be unsealed and then put into a short plastic bag. By the time I got the sub into our home it was a mess in the bottom of the plastic wrapper. When we opened it we had to put it back together enough to try to eat it. The steak was under cooked and the steak was not chopped at all as in had always been in the past. What a mess!!! read more

Whoever owns this place needs to go in ASAP.... potential customers are walking out left and right due to the slow service. Even co-workers are asking what is wrong with the speed of the cashier. Maybe just give her a personal day? I'd want to know if I was the owner because customers are ticked to the point that they won't ever return. We were maybe two of 10 people in the shop. 40 minutes later we were told aggressive and condescendingly by a young girl that only 1 sub had been made and "we only have one grille, why are you complaining?". Canceled our order, manager came out gave us our money back and went straight to the back, did not assist at all in the chaos that was ensuing in the front of house. Will NEVER go back. Subs are absolutely ginormous (18in for regular, 9 in for half). Did take a while for them to be made though. Buffalo wings are okay, but the sauce is very thin and they don't give you ranch for them. Big fan of the mozzarella sticks! Their "beach fries" are not at all like typical boardwalk fries so that was a disappointment as they were soggy rather than nice and crispy. May Billy Rest In Peace. I don't like to crap on restaurants on Yelp, but I've never heard of such poor treatment in Ocean City and I'm disappointed. We are never going back, which is a shame because their subs and pizzas are delicious. My family and I looked up their menu on Yelp and Apple/Google maps prior to going to the shop to order a take out. Their prices were very reasonable and my family (4 of us) had chosen what we wanted to order. My parents, who went to the restaurant, were treated awfully by some dopey, mumbling cashier who clearly didn't want to be there. The prices/food on the online menu were completely different from reality. The prices were increased, and the types of subs had differed. Online, I had wanted a "Lump Crab Cake Sub", and when my parents tried ordering this, the cashier tried to make them feel bad for ordering the wrong food item, claiming there was no such thing as a "Lump Crab Cake Sub", but rather a "Crab Cake Sub". Really? His attitude was curt and unhelpful when my parents asked for clarification on what came on subs. "What does this sub come with?", "Whatever you want me to put on it". Well no shit! My parents then tried to pay using Samsung Pay and had some issues getting the payment to go through. The cashier gets very defensive and actually says to my parents that it's been working all day and it's their fault it's not working. Thanks, Captain Obvious! Maybe be helpful, and get them to try again or use a different method of payment. Multiple people came in while my parents were waiting to yell at the workers for messing up their orders. The wait for 3 sandwiches and 1 pizza took 35 minutes. Didn't help the store was incredibly small and the waiting area, even smaller.
