Food was hot and alright. soup/ salad used to be included with a pasta. A $20 pasta and if you want to add 4 pieces of shrimp they'll charge another 9. Honestly it's not worth the money. They are making a 95% profit on pasta And the bread we received with our $100 order, four pieces....four pieces of small Italian bread. No thanks. read more

Appetizer was excellent, we ordered the roasted garlic, which was fantastic. We were a group of four, we each had wine, various chicken dinners (I had the Giambatta, my wife had the stuffed chicken), which was also very good. We split the tiramisu and cheesecake--another great course. We barely finished dessert when the waitress and hostess each, a few minutes apart, basically ushered us out the door. This was a Sunday evening and there was room in the dining room and outside. The other couple with us was my brother and his girlfriend from an hour and a half away. I get a restaurant can get busy and have reservations stacked but we not only were pushed out but actually saw other patrons at a nearby table given similar rude treatment as we were seated. The good was great and our server was fantastic but this was the first time I've ever been treated this way, and saw others treated similarly. We won't be back. read more

I want to preface this review by saying that my family and I have eaten here many times over the years and had wonderful food and experiences. The past couple times have been average at best and tonight was outright horrible. After years of patronage we will not be back. We had 7pm reservations for a table of 3 in the dining room. The employee on the phone made it very clear that we had an hour and a half time slot to eat and leave which wasn't a problem as we weren't planning on a drawn out dinner. We arrived around 6:50 and after waiting 5 min at the empty host stand, an employee finally arrived to say that our table was almost ready, that's fine, but with two other parties also waiting for table there was nowhere to stand but in the doorway. We were constantly shuffled around by staff trying to get through and other customers arriving with no real place to wait. The hostess returns to tell us that the group at our table was not leaving even though they were over their time and that she moved us to a different table. The problem was that this table was not in the dining room, it was in the bar area. The bar was full and people were standing in groups around our table, not a nice way to eat dinner, so we told her that this would not work and we would like another table in the dining room per our reservation. She returned a few minutes later saying that the group occupying our table still would not leave and this was the only other table they had. She said if we wanted to wait another 15 minutes or so and hopefully the group would leave but there was no guarantee. At this point it was 7:15, 25min after arriving with reservations and we were being told there was no table for us but if we want to wait another 15 minutes then maybe there will be.......no thank you. After taking into account everything that had happened so far we decided to leave and go somewhere else. Never have I ever shown up to a restaurant with reservations and been told that there was not a table for us. Sorry but we won't be back again. read more

Overall our food was very good. Service was attentive. Lobster ravioli was delicious, I had the mussels and white wine sauce and the country rigatoni was delicious. They accommodated our granddaughter with her necessary French fries. Carrot cake was wonderful. The only negative was my son and spouse wanted ice tea and what came out was not drinkable, cloudy and obviously sat way too long. Bimbo's was our favorite go-to Italian restaurant in the area, but no longer after the horrible experience we had during our last visit there to celebrate our 48 wedding anniversary. The downward spiral started right after we were seated at a table next to the window overlooking the outside deck dining area. The view was okay, however my wife felt a strong vibration coming from underneath her chair - mine was okay. The vibration ran constantly for about 10 minutes, then stop for 3-4 minutes and repeat the cycle again and again. When we complained to the waiter and hostess, she explained that the vibration was from a compressor located in basement just below my wife's chair. The place was completely packed and it explains why a desirable window table was still available. She offered another table, but it was in the pinball gaming room! It was getting late so we decided to stay. I ordered a medium rare steak, and it was very overcooked being slightly pink. I complained to the manager, but that is another story. Thank goodness for our absolutely wonderful young waiter-- he turned what could easily have been an otherwise dreadful evening into a terrific one. read more

First time, did curbside. Excellent Caesar salad, pork chop cooked perfectly, delicious spaghetti bolognese and Chicken Marsala. You can taste the care they put into the food. Best part was that the food was expertly packed so that it was still warm when we ate it 15 mins later. And was ready exactly when promised. Absolute NO. Don't go to this place, don't waste your money and time, AND you don't want to be sick all night long either. Terrible food. I don't know what it is they dish out as their sauce, it is something dark dark red, almost black, thick, pasty, sugary, terrible looking and tasting sauce over their pasta or meat dishes. Some kinda stuff out of cans. The four of us got sick big time the night we went there. On the top, it was so expensive. One of the worst experiences in fine dining. Very over priced, you have to pay extra for soup and extra for a salad. Portions are all downsized from what I remember and prices are outrageous. Nothing but kids waiting on you and don't even try to walk in with out a reservation (learned the hard way). I don't know why people like the place. Oh, and don't fall for the 'we'll text when your table is ready, so you can walk down to the corner Old Bridge and have a cocktail while you wait' scam. They own that too and it's prices are overpriced. I think they purposely make you wait longer since you can't see what's going on in the restaurant so you spend more money on drinks there. read more

Omg! We've enjoyed Bimbos numerous times over the past 10 years HOWEVER, tonight was the exception. VERY disappointed with the service and especially the food. Hostess(maybe the owner?) was almost hostile and evidently overwhelmed. Braised beef crepes exorbitantly salted and over-sauced, Gnocchi with vodka sauce turned out to be rubbery gnocchi (maybe a sale at Walmart?) with Chef Boy R Dee sauce instead of the delicious Vodka sauce that my husband is accustomed to , stale pre-sliced bread, all with the clunky, unfriendly service from our pre-occupied waitress. Bimbos needs to step it up a couple of notches if they want to survive in this economy where IF and WHEN customers go out for an evening, they expect quality food and gracious service.
