Ordered 14" thin pizza, chicken sandwich, 2 kids pizzas with fries, & Cobb salad. Saturday evening 5:15pm . Waited 1 hour for first food to come out 6:15pm and it was a the 14" pizza. Kids still waiting 5 minutes for theirs and our other food . Then finally the rest of the food came out. Pizza was very good. Other food items good . Problem the sides of fries did not come out with the food . The fries came out 10minutes later after kids were done with their mini pizza. Service was inattentive. Restaurant looks dingy inside but outside seating is a plus. I would hesitate to return based on the service we received. read more

The restaurant has terrible acoustics. Too many tables & too many customers crammed into a relatively small space. Very noisy. Unpleasant eating environment. Add to that, the patrons at the bar area getting louder & louder as the drinks were pouring. Our server, while pleasant, took too long with every phase of the dinner. We had to flag her down after waiting at least 15 minutes to get our check. The food took too long as well. We like the pizza, but not enough to put up with that chaos. After our original venue double booked us, I called Buddyz to see if they could host our party very last minute. They were extremely helpful and made sure everything was taken care of. Our server Lauren was absolutely amazing and took great care of us before, during, and after the event. The room was very spacious as well! Everyone loved the food and it was a great experience! Really good pizza. The thin crust could be 50% thinner. Also, the service is always wonky when dining in. I was once asked how I wanted my eggs cooked for an omelette. An omelette. Let that sink in. I was also told before that the kitchen burnt my toast & that the server tried to scrape off the burnt parts but ruined it. I was charged for the toast but never got it. Also, every time my wife & I have dined in we ended up with a large party directly next to us which is annoying & also possibly a coincidence but still annoying. Every time I've dined in over the last 2 years I've seen a rotating staff which might speak volumes about the business. If you're rotating staff so frequently, that either means your management isn't training the staff correctly or the staff is finding money elsewhere. Either way, it's definitely something to look into. read more

I would like to start out by saying that my friends and I are really enjoying the food at Buddyz - McHenry! Whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner, we are enjoying the variety of foods they offer and the reasonable prices. Of course their specialty - pizza is great! Secondly, I would like to say we are so pleased that they have weekly and daily specials! We are always there on Mondays to take advantage of a 1/2 pound burger that is under three dollars (before you add cheese or extras). It is cooked exactly as you like it and for just a couple bucks, you can also add a salad or fries or another side dish. Lastly, I have to tell you that time and time again we have been there and had the pleasure of being served by some of the nicest and kindest people! I specifically will mention one member of their staff as he is EXCEPTIONAL!! ADRIAN is a young man who has such a great personality, willingness to help, care, concern, thoughtfulness, and kindness! Not to put down any of the GenZ young people who sometimes struggle with working with customers and people in general, but I must say he is someone who always goes above and beyond for his customers. He has a beautiful smile and warmth. He makes you feel welcome every time you step in to the restaurant whether it's busy or quiet whether it's morning or evening. Spring is in the air and we wanted to sit outside. They have a large outdoor seating area with great views. Service was fast and pleasant. Pizza took longer than expected but it was definitely in the upper tier of Chicago thin crust which is our favorite. Great flavor, good crisp, cooked perfectly and the right amount of cheese. My boyfriend and I went to Buddyz on our date night and I'm glad we did. Our server, Heidi, was kind and attentive, and she made some excellent recommendations. The food was great too. My boyfriend had a "baby deep" pizza (I think that's what they're called) and I had a Cuban sandwich. We also had a discount card that got us a free appetizer and we chose the bosco sticks. Everything came out tasting fresh and delicious! The peach mule was another high point. There was a minor mixup that we didn't even notice until a manager brought it to our attention, but it was quickly resolved. Kudo's to BuddyZ Restaurant in McHenry. We had the opportunity to host a Bridal Shower Brunch today. The owners and their staff, Andrea Taller, Caitlyn Kalata, Lauren and Tori went above and beyond to make sure day went smoothly. They worked very hard to make us happy and we were. We so many compliments on the food that was especially the chicken people said they could not believe how moist the chicken was. We had the buffet breakfast, which includes so much more than just breakfast items. What a beautiful location, excellent food and the best service around. Great pizza spot located in downtown Crystal Lake. Food: I ordered a pepperoni deep dish pie and it was great! This was only my second time eating Chicago style deep dish pizza and i was impressed, it was better than my first experience. I was so stuffed afterwards its hard for me to believe anyone can finish a whole pie! So good though. Decent beer selection, could be better. They need more local craft, less trash like Bud Light. Service: Our waitress was really nice and we didnt really have any issues. My own thing was the pizza took FOREVER to cook, which they typically do. But they told us someone called in an order for like 15 pizzas right as i ordered. Could have maybe got my 1 pizza out and made them wait for their 15 pies lol. It took me close to an hour to get the pizza which is a little wild. Atmosphere: Inside seemed decent but we sat outside on the patio which was very nice. I want to start by saying we have been going here for years and enjoyed the restaurant and food! We placed an order this last week and we had it delivered, it was missing fries and toppings from pizza. Not a huge deal but I paid $90 for this meal so I called them. I was laughed at by the person answering the phone, sat on hold for 10 minutes to talk to a manager and then was told that they would send the fries and remake the pizza but I had to pay for the toppings. I told the manager that I had the receipt showing I paid for all of the toppings already and didn't get them, offered to send pizza back or send pictures. I was then told that I should "relax" and they would remake the stuff and send it out when they had time! Over and hour later we received the items, and they were wrong again! I am writing a a review because I don't think that this was handled well and we were disappointed in a place that we had enjoyed going, sad! read more

This restaurant is located on the McHenry Riverwalk with some great outdoor seating with a view. The service was good. The thin crust pizza was good and my grandson and I enjoyed the grilled cheese. Today was slightly chilly so we ate inside. Looking forward to coming back to enjoy the patio on the river and maybe try the thick crust next time. read more

I called Tom about my complaint, they refused to refund my money that's what really makes it bad. As far as I'm concerned they said they would credit me for next time. I choose to do eggs and corned beef hash~ the restaurant manager, Savannah came over and introduced herself to me and assured me they were going to use a brand new pan in the kitchen to cook my hash~ which was absolutely delicious!!!!
