Went there for lunch today with my wife and daughter. Upon entering, we were not all seated before the server asked for our order. We didn't even get out drinks. She only brought one water instead of the 3 that we asked for along with the lemonade After we ate our food, I kept expecting her to check on us and ask w if we wanted a box to take home the leftover pizza. No visit was made. It was not very busy at all. Finally I got up and went to the counter and asked for a box and my check. The pizza was okay... Nothing to go crazy over, but also not worth the poor service. Been there done that won't go back again. read more

I must say I was very disappointed tonight and it wasn't with the pizza (that's always good)...it was with the service. The waitress was to busy watching the hockey game and talking to the cooks to even check on us after she just about threw the pizza and drinks at us. Needless to say we didn't get any refills on our pop. She ended up at the cash register when we finally walked up to get our bill and asks us who our waitress was. At the same time someone asked how the food was, assuming manager by the way he was dressed, my husband expressed his concerns and all we got was a sorry. There is a man who is thin that works there, I think he may be the manager or maybe the owner but he is so rude every time I go in there! They have a few rude workers there but he takes the cake. I understand their spot has been open for some time now but that doesn't give their staff the right to be rude to those buying their lousy pizza! I won't be returning and will go someplace else. My wife and I are somewhat new in town and this is the only place in town that she's added to her speed dial (which says a lot!) Just like I remember as a kid, bland pizza with second and third tier ingredients. Really the staff could not care less about your patronage. Anybody out there frequent Bimbo's regularly? The reason I ask is that lately the pizzas I have gotten seem to have changed in taste and quality. I have been a customer since the 60's and over the years I have asked them if they had changed something in the recipe when I noticed a difference. To their credit they admitted when they did and those times that they did they told me that people had noticed and they were going to go back to the previous ingredient, or they found a better supplier. It wasn't that often but it happened. Of the last three orders I have purchased they have all had a significant taste difference, one of the orders was for three pies of different toppings and were boxed as I arrived for pickup. They were very overcooked. The people who were my guests and are very familiar with Bimbo's also noted the deficiencies and they had preferred Bimbo's since the 70's. I really hope this isn't the beginning of the end of a very long patronage with them and they will get a few more opportunities. I have liked and preferred their pies for along time but will not continue there if this is the Bimbo's of today. read more

Love going to this place, but tonight was terrible experience. Only dirty tables when we got there, told to sit at one, waited almost 15 minutes, no one came or even acknowledged us. Found waitress, asked her to clean table and take order. Order taken, wrong pizza brought, #2 pizza brought, wrong again, but we settled for it. Asked to order another one, took order, waitress came brought bill, asked about other pizza, got a blank look and left. Waitress #2 comes over, asks us what the problem was, explained we ordered another pizza, she left. Waitress #3 comes, says pizza has not been ordered, we got up and left. I have eaten a LOT of pizza from one side of the country to another but I have always been partial to New York pizza - thin crust, good cheese and tasty sauce. Bimbo's comes close. For some reason they cut the pizza in squares which takes meaning away from "a slice". I imagine if you asked them they would do regular pie cuts. Very tasty pizza but you have to like thin crust. Mushrooms not good (canned, ugh). Meats are o.k. For an authentic taste, stick with plain cheese pizza. Prices are very good. They don't take credit cards so take cash or your checkbook. A couple of my friends and I ate at Bimbo's Pizza last weekend. We are fans of Supreme pizzas so we ordered a Large 14" House Special (Pepperoni, Beef, Onion, Green Pepper, Mushroom, and Sausage). While waiting for the pizza we talked about the décor. If rating the décor alone, it would get 4 stars. The pizza came to the table in a reasonable amount of time. The pizza was larger than expected, about 16". While chewing on my first piece of pizza, I realized that I could not tell if we received the correct pizza. It did not really taste like a supreme pizza and you could not see any supreme pizza toppings protruding through the cheese (except for a few chunks of sausage). I asked the waitress if it was the correct pizza and she said it was. She stated that the pizza toppings are all cut up really small and they were under the cheese. At first I did not believe her. At that moment, I was convinced that it wasn't a supreme and she was covering up for someone's mistake. I did not confront her or pursue the topic. I just thanked her for answering my question. We continued to eat the pizza and I really tried to concentrate on what I was tasting. I could kind of make out a general overall supreme pizza flavor but it was really really mild. There were no individual pizza topping flavors. Based on texture, I was not biting into or chewing up any supreme pizza toppings. I pulled the cheese back on a piece of pizza to see if there were toppings there. There were supreme pizza toppings but they were minced crazy tiny and thin. The topping pieces were so tiny that it was as if they were pre-chewed or intended for someone who did not have the ability to chew solid food. The crust, sauce, and cheese were good. Overall, it was not a bad pizza. However, as a supreme style pizza, it was not good. I would definitely not order it again. The service was very good. Based on how Bimbo's Pizza cuts up its toppings, I recommend ordering their pizzas with as few toppings as possible. Ideally one topping. When choosing the one topping, go with a bold flavored topping like pepperoni or sausage. Don't waste money on toppings like mushrooms, green peppers, or onions because you'll probably never be able to taste them. Based solely on this visit, I would rate Bimbo's Pizza 3 stars. If I rated the House Special pizza alone, it would receive 2.5 stars. The service was easily 4 to 4.5 stars. How could Bimbo's Pizza improve? I'm sure there are customers who are fans of micro tiny toppings but if Bimbo's Pizza gave customers the everyday option of having micro cut toppings OR regular sized toppings, they might dramatically increase customer satisfaction and profitability. read more
