Came here in a date night with my boyfriend and this place is living up to the reviews!! There is a small parking lot on the side of the building. It appears that during the summer they do have patio seating! This place has a fair amount of seating inside, major plus!! The decor was cute with the hanging umbrellas!! Everyone that we encountered was very sweet! They are also fast paced here, so it may be good to look at the menu before you go! Our food was DELICIOUS!! The spring rolls were so fresh and the peanut sauce that came with was sweet! A perfect pairing! I got the number 48 (the name of the actual dish is escaping me) and my boyfriend got the pad Thai with chicken! Both had incredible flavor! To end the meal, we got the mango sticky rice and holy YUM!! Don't miss out on that! A great way to end the meal! This place was delicious!! Definitely go support them!! read more

The inside of this place looks nice, with large seating and a nice atmosphere. I would dine in on a future day but this time we were just passing by so we grabbed takeout. Cream cheese wontons - ok If I had realized that the Beef Salad and the Seafood Salad were basically the same thing just different protein I would have just chosen one. That choice would be the Seafood Salad. I like the thin rice noodles and there was a good amount of seafood in it. Pad Lawn as my favorite from what we ordered. Yummy warm broccoli, with cabbage, and other veggies. We chose mock duck as our protein and it came with nice big chunks. The papaya salad was really good and I'd get that again. If you are ordering from their website, I'd recommend checking out the menu inside of the restaurant or looking at the menu photos on Yelp because I saw some things that I would have loved to try but they weren't on the online ordering menu so perhaps next time we will just eat there or order inside so we can check out the physical menu. Well, we have gone there several times before and it has always been good ! Very tasty food and good service but on Feb 14 was not the day ! Perhaps our own fault, we got there later in the evening, got seated right away and ask to place our drink order. The beer on the menu made in Duluth was not available and it took 45 Min and several times asking for the tea to arrive ! After that, it took 45 more Min to place the food order ! The food was good and tasty as it was before but perhaps that was not the best day and time to go there ! All in all a fair place to go ! read more

My cousin took us here for a late birthday celebration for my birthday. I honestly didn't have high hopes because decent Thai food in the suburbs but I was delightfully surprised to be proven wrong. I REALLY enjoyed the food, like I ate more at that meal than I normally do and even enjoyed the leftovers too. It's nicely lit (has a wonderful array of chandeliers to look at), clean, staff was pleasant and didn't rush you and the food was good. The only thing I didn't care much for was the beef salad (not laab), it had bean thread noodles in it which isn't what you'd expect for beef salad. My highlight was the cream cheese wontons, fried tofu and the spicy chicken wings. Get the chicken wings. My cousin really enjoyed her Thai coffee. My sister enjoyed her pho and my other sister enjoyed the fried rice. Parking was decent, there weren't too many people there, the restaurant smelled like fresh made waffle cones and they played dessert videos on the two big screens on the wall. read more

I am surprised to read some of the reviews about quality of food or customer service as we had an absolute stellar experience at this location so would recommended folks to give it another chance. There is ample parking space in the attached parking lot, location is super convenient/accessible right off highway 61 and the dining area inside is decent size and very clean! Went on a Friday afternoon and were promptly seated by the friendly/smiling staff. We ordered multiple items off the menu (see pics); the portion sizes were generous, the food had flavor/tasted great and fresh, the service was amazingly fast! I would highly recommend getting the potstickers while you're there. From our experience when we took the first bite, it was literally a heavenly moment. Well first off, I actually came to the Restaurant , based on the reviews, but I have a Much different opinion about the food.we had the Sweet and Sour Chicken! Presentation was a 4.5, item 3.25/ so Sweet but no Sour it was just ok. Pad Cashew Nut, 3.5, again nice presentation, but nothing special! Cream cheese Wontons were very good( the highlight of experience) a 4.5, but a table spoon of dipping sauce for 8 was not enough! The Restaurant is a Barn , umbrellas on Ceiling ( hmm) a horrible Space 2.0, nothing about it would get a my approval. Service 4, hardly got Appetizer, an asking for Entree order ! Not my favorite Type of service! A Beer an a Wine. Then the Bill has the Annoying TIP RECOMMENDATION 15/18/20/etc! I've eaten Thai food in Thailand, Hawaii, and all over Minnesota and Metropolitan Area! This is Not a 4.6 experience! $51.00 before a 20% Tip !!! Not Cheap, Food Average at Best, the Space is Not an actual "Restaurant" Experience it's a Barn! Remember this is an Opinion, there were several people that Rated it a 4.6... Did not expect this out of the way Asian restaurant would be such a hit. In the middle of a predominately white suburban town, this restaurant is bringing authentic southeast Asian flavors. The pad Thai was near perfect. Deliciously peanuty with a good mix of sweet and sour. It had a nice sauce to noodle ratio and good noodle texture. Cream cheese puffs were delicately crispy with a nice dipping sauce. Chicken wings were crispy, spicy and fun to eat. Avoid though if you're not into spice as theres a hefty amount of chili oil on them. The beef salad had a good mix of ingredients but could've used more acid. The pho broth was great, just like at home. Nice and beefy in flavor with good amount of seasoning. It didn't even need any other condiments. Other great dishes are the pad see ew, Salomon curry and basil fried rice. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The place was clean, bright, warm and inviting. I'm so pleasantly surprised as being Asian, I am highly opinionated on the flavors of home and the food that I grew up with. This place is great and definitely a can't miss if in Hastings. read more

Just like most of the Chinese and Mexican food in the area seems like American food made in a different vessel, maybe...this seems like MidWestern food. Though there is some soy sauce on it. Not too much, though! The flavors were barely even reminiscent of the Thai foods that they claimed to be. Anyone who ate here and liked it would find that they hated Thai food everywhere else and not understand why. It's like going to Taco Bell and expecting the BEST Mexican food of your life! The service was ok. The food came to the table uninterrupted. But I wanted to ask our server (obviously a relative) "does the family eat this? Really?!?" In fact one of the people in our group found the food did not agree with her stomach. I do not believe that it was food poisoning because it was not very drastic. Great (& inexpensive) Thai in Hastings MN?! I give this place four stars (plus one extra to offset someone's weird 1 star review). Pad Thai w mock duck was delicious. Just missing a lime slice. Panang curry w tofu over sticky rice. Perfect spice. Fresh veggies. Right amount of coconut milk. Service was quite friendly and MN casual. Maybe the food took a while longer than usual, but the place was very busy on a Wednesday, so no worries. Don't be fooled by the outside appearance of this old dark blue building. It was something else from ye olden days. Simple midwestern furnishings but with some nice accents: pretty fans, vases, and this amazing mural. read more

This is our second visit to Bimi! The first was just as delicious! Today we had Tofu Pad Thai, Tofu Pad Cashew Nut, and Cream cheese wontons. These are probably 3 of the best Thai dishes we have had in the area! When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and seated, within 3 mins our server was here to bring waters and take our drink and food order if we were ready. We both ordered the Iced Thai tea and it is hands down the best Thai tea we've Ever Had! Bimi has the largest booths (coming from a plus size woman, that's GREAT!) and soft instrumental music playing. We love Bimi and think this is an EXCELLENT addition to Hastings! We were in Hastings at lunch time on a Saturday, after a meeting in town, and we noticed the restaurant sign as we drove to the meeting so looked for it again later in the day, and decided to take a chance for lunch. Boy are we glad we did! Excellent food, great service, and a clean and pleasant place. The next time we are in Hastings we will make a point of eating at Bimi Thai again. I had the green curry with pork, and it was nicely spicy. The waitress said that sometimes it is too hot for some people, but I thought it was great, and it wasn't painfully hot, just nice and spicy. My wife had Pad Lawn with shrimp and was impressed with the number of nice shrimp in it as well as the excellent flavor of it all. We have eaten at many Thai restaurants in many states and think this is as good as any of them. Highly recommended! read more

Bimi Thai adds some much needed diversity to the local dining scene. I have been there three times now and have found everything to be fresh, tasty, and well executed. The last time we were there I had tofu phad thai, chicken satay, and spring rolls and all were excellent. The atmosphere is bright and cheery and you are greeted with an enormous mural on the wall when you walk in. It appears to be a family operation which I appreciate. This place took a very long time to open and put up a Facebook page then pulled it down and so forth so I wasn't sure what to expect. I ordered takeout and for about 5 times it was $75. I assumed that it would be good Thai food at those price points, but sadly, when the lady brought it out in a paperbag, the bag actually felt cold. (As anyone who has ordered takeout knows, when the food is coming straight out of the kitchen, the bag should be at least warm. I mentioned this to the lady at the bar, but she said it was plenty warm enough and I'd see when I got home. I live less than 1 mile from this place so when we opened everything, it was barely room temperature and even the Egg Rolls were cold. If food is being cooked to order, there is no way that it can go cold that fast. Again, I arrived before my food was ready, and the it was brought straight out of the kitchen... The chicken satay was overcooked and actually burnt. As anyone knows, burnt food is just not fun to eat and real THai chicken satay is not burnt. It should be juicy with just the right spice to dip into the peanut sauce. I called the restaurant as I thought paying that much money for cold food wasn't good, but the woman on the phone told me that I should have said something at the restaurant and they couldn't do anything once it left the place. I explained that I mentioned it to the woman who brought the food out of the kitchen, but she just said, no one remembers that. The way this place opened oddly made me have my suspicions about it being good, but this service literally just plain sucked. We did heat the food up, but it just wasn't good. I've had real Thai food (In Thailand, NYC and even in Minneapolis, St. Paul), and I hope this place is assuming people in Hastings don't know what real Thai food tastes like. That would be very rude to think that we in Hastings are just hicks who will accept anything. If I could give less than 1 star I would as service was horrible, getting cold food (that is supposed to be cooked to order) was horrible. When food is given to you cold, I can only assume they prepare everything way in advance and then just reheat. I was very excited about a Thai restaurant coming to Hastings, but they truly need to clean up their act if they want to keep customers coming. People in Hastings are more sophisticated than the owners of this place realize so hopefully, they will take this review to heart and become a real Thai restaurant that understands customer service is king along with food quality. read more

Food was delicious: fresh and flavorful served hot. Spice level was exactly what we asked for. Service was quick and efficient. It's a large place and plenty of parking. Comfortable environment. We really enjoy the flavors so much that we would drive out of our way to eat here again. I had the Pad Thai with pork, my wife had the green curry with chicken. We shared the spicy chicken wings. We had enough leftover for at least another meal. The food was so flavorful that we considered ordering an additional meal just to take home with the leftovers. read more
