    Shrimp spring rolls

I love many of the dishes here. The spring rolls, pad Thai, curry fried rice, and pineapple fried rice are all solid dishes. My husband loves the beef laab and drunken noodles. The Thai tea is delicious. Be careful when ordering the spice levels as they make things spicy. Service is friendly and fast. They have a small parking lot, but there is plenty of street parking. Bonus- all the dishes are labeled and there are MANY gluten free options.

Great local spot! The service is friendly and fast. This is right by Dairy Queen. Plenty of seating and dining room is clean. The green matcha is delicious!

Small hole in the wall with phenomenal Thai food! Be careful, the spice level will sneak up on you! My husband ordered the Pad Thai and I ordered the Pad See Ew. I ordered a spice level 2 and it was HOT! I personally love the veggies, especially the Chinese Broccoli that they use! Service is great, considering the team is very small! Definitely recommend checking them out!

My favorite spot for Thai in the south metro area! Joy's Thai was my husband's favorite spot for years before we met, and tonight, I took my daughter. She loves Asian food, and here's what she had to say: "It's totally one of my favorite places to go if I'm in the mood for Thai. The rama (peanut curry) with chicken was filling, and the pineapple fried rice was fire! I also liked the atmosphere and the iced matcha tea. I prefer my food spicy, but my mom isn't a big fan, so I like how well organized the spice levels are so we can choose the amount of spiciness we want. I also adore their sticky rice dessert, but I was so full! I'll have to get some next time I go to Joy's." We will certainly be back, as it's now our family favorite!

We were seated right away on a Saturday around lunch time. It's a small but cute place that seems to be a little outdated, but these are also the best places! We came here for the food. There is a small parking lot in back. We started with the chicken satay. It was simple but the two dipping sauces complimented it well! They make a great peanut and cucumber sauce. The pad Thai was delicious! A really great balance of flavors that blended well and nothing ever overpowered in flavors. Im not a curry or spice fan so I can't speak to my partners dish but he said he liked it! I tried a bite and it was a little spicy for me but doable.

    BEWARE

Currently back in Minnesota for Business and a couple of auditions and I came across this place when I first arrived on the 3rd of December. After a long 17 hours of driving I stopped in and grabbed some Shrimp Pad Thai and their version on Crab Rolls and a soda. 48$ later with a 2.5% credit card usage charge and tip it's NOT WORTH THE FOOD OR SERVICE. My order was wrong and I called later that evening and was told by WHO EVER answered that when I returned and Brought my receipt I could have my order remade. I tried to get that honored today but was met by a hostile manager who say they THEY ARE PERFECT. Less than 1% of mistakes. After offering a refund and to remake the order that I HAD THE RECEIPTS FOR. He spoke to me like I was trash. Like I was trying to scam his business when I did exactly what was asked. He said because of the time that he questioned it. I told him I was back on business. His look of "This Black Man on Business " was very clear. So I just told him I'd leave this review and move on. Trying to support small businesses is hard enough. This is not a place for people of color. I'd suggest you learn to cook these cuisines at home. Being talked like a criminal and to be chased out the door as I said good night was not a good look for your camera as well. You picked the wrong person. I came with honesty and even called and spoke to the Manager prior to coming in. He TOLD ME TO STOP IN AND HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. NOT TREAT ME LIKE TRASH. Unacceptable behavior LESS THAN ZERO. The Manager is a Liar. Time will tell.

It's not the same joys anymore. I am not sure what was changed. The food tasted awful and we tried multiple times. We had a good time. We are not going to this place anymore.

Their private message on Yelp. Apparently customer service isn't their strongest attribute

My date asked me to pick out a good restaurant in the Richfield area, I picked Joy Pattaya. Don't do it, just don't. Yes, it was that bad. We are seated at the table, and there was no silverware or napkins. Not even water. We ordered our appetizers, and we still weren't given our napkins or silverware . We order our dinners, and at this point my date had to grab the silverware from another table. I ordered the Drunken Noodles, and I SPECIFICALLY said "not spicy" because I cannot handle spicy foods. I get my food, and it's spicy. I tell the youngish, male waiter that it's too spicy, and I can't eat it. He precedes to argue with me about the spice level, and he says "THIS ISN'T SPICY! IT'S FINE!" I asked him to bring me another plate, he then says "IT'S FINE." My date said it wasn't a big deal, but had I been by myself, I wouldn't have paid for that dish. Worse than this, I came home and I was pretty much sick the rest of the day from the food. The way my date and I were treated was like the garbage they fed us at this subpar, unprofessional restaurant. DO NOT PUNISH ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT BY TAKING THEM HERE (I can do caps, too). I got your response in a PRIVATE message, and you know what? There's something called customer service, which is something you lack. Your service sucks, your food sucks, and your attitude SUCKS. Stop getting into arguments with customers and work on your dingy, nasty restaurant.

Joy's Pattaya is a nice place to dine. I came here for lunch and decided to try their pho. The Pho is Thai style and the broth is ok. You can taste the herbs and it's loaded with all the veggies. It was served hot and with a side of either wontons or an egg roll. The sauce is perfect for dipping the egg roll. There is plenty to choose from their lunch menu. Service is as expected as there is only one person running around taking orders and dropping off your food order. Wait time good and they seat you right away! I will be back to try their other dishes as this was my first time. Overall, service is good, food is decent and the environment is calm and relaxing! Go try check out!!! Bona petite!!!

FOOD: Of courrrsseee we got the pad Thai here, as we always do at Thai restaurants. On the scale of pad Thais, I would say this dish ranked slightly above average. Not the best pad Thai I've had, but great for the price. Usually you have to pay more for chicken in your noodles, but not here! Definitely get the wong- tongs though! Those were top tier!! SERVICE: We got seated immediately, and our food came out fairly fast. The staff was friendly and all was good on the service side. AMBIANCE: The restaurant itself looks like a subway cafe diner, so it has a cute charm to it. It's not a fancy restaurant by any means, but it was quaint. LOCATION: Stopped here on the way to the airport so it was out of the city. They have a small parking lot, but if the lot is full, it might be a bit difficult to find parking nearby.

I had to ask for lime and they brought me one entire wedge! It didn't help. It's possible they added some other seasoning to the salad but all I could taste was the salt. There was definitely no heat (chili pepper). There was mint but some of the leaves were black and rotten. I told the server the salad was way too salty. I recently moved from the Bay Area so had a lot of thai, laotian and cambodian food there. I'll try to break down the dishes itself. Duck fried rice: probably my favorite out of the entrees, very flavorful but too salty. It's stronger in flavor but the salt was a bit too much. Laksa: oh man I really wanted to like this one but it's missing the ooomph like someone skipped out on all the fish sauce and strong flavors that make laksa unique. Massaman curry: the beef was try and tough and didn't have much in it overall. If you know massaman you know a big part of it are the potatoes, but there's barely any. Mango salmon: it just tasted like a pan fried salmon, nothing too crazy Overall, it feels like I went somewhere that tried to imitate Laotian flavors. And for the price I likely wouldn't go again. But I will say, the service A+, all the staff were very nice and helpful. Also the vibes are amazing very cute decor. I wish the food matched everything else.

I also got to try the Pad Thai (with chicken), Pad See Ew (with tofu), Pad Woon Sen (with pork), and Papaya Salad. I enjoyed all of them, but the Pad Woon Sen was probably my favorite because of the savory flavors. The Pad Thai and Pad See Ew had hints of sweetness, which is to be expected, but both were also enjoyable. I always enjoy the thick noodles of the Pad See Ew. The Papaya Salad also had a great mix of savory (fish sauce), acid, and sweet. The mango sweet sticky rice was also tasty- it was definitely sweet, but a nice way to end the meal.
