Bin Cleaners (or now Canology?) offers that one service that you didn't really know you needed but now know you can't live without. Having washed out my icky Recology bins with a hose, it's well worth the $$s to have someone do it for you.... Got my super grotty compost and recycle bins cleaned (and now am on a recurring schedule). Online scheduling, email reminders for the day, and timely service - what else could you ask for? Oh yeah, and the bins were clean and smelled nice :). Hard to put a value judgement on having to wash out the bins vs having someone do it but in the realm of "dirty jobs I just don't want to do" the bi-annual subscription seems to be worth it and if good value. read more

After giving up trying to clean my compost bin, I decided to hire bin cleans to finally get rid of the fruit fly problem that's been marinating in there. I got lucky in that they were servicing my area the following week, and was able to book an appointment the same day. They came during the specified time, and hose and wiped down my compost bin and almost made it completely brand new...almost. I feel like they left out a few spots that I had to touch up with a paper towel, and the can wasn't entirely dry which I had to clean up. I feel like these things are a little luxury for people like us who need to put their trash can in the garage to prevent flies. They offer a great service at a respectable price, I just wished they were able to clean my compost bin a little better so I wouldn't have to double check their work. Scheduled with them to clean our bins on a regular basis. They failed to show, no call, no comm of any kind. I called their office at 2 p.m., and the voicemail said they were closed, even tho they are supposed to be open until 4 p.m. They're useless. read more

We just had 7 trash bins cleaned by Bin Cleaners this early afternoon and they did the most amazing job on 3 recycle, 3 trash and 1 compost bin. They have not been cleaned since we have lived here in the attic unit over 20.75 years and did they ever need to be steam cleaned and disinfected. The customer service staff were so easy to work with, email confirmations arrived, an email the day before re-reminding us to have our bins out by 7:00a and an email the morning of the scheduled cleaning with a window of time to expect the crew to be on-site. When we came home from a luncheon meeting, we have pristine bins now, each tagged with our address and BinCleaners.com contact information (a smart reminder!) and even received an email that our bins were done! An amazing service, an outstanding job done and a price point that was SO worth it. I didn't know this was a thing until I saw one of their trucks in my neighborhood cleaning. I had power washed my bins before on my own but it was a messy disaster. So I signed up to have my nasty cans cleaned out by their automated trucks and it was amazing. I got an email saying the truck was on the way. I didn't have to lift a finger. And the bins came out cleaner than when I clean them on my own (I think due to the really hot water and higher pressure they get from their trucks). I'm a fan now! read more

The cleaning is fine, but their admin is the worst. They first forgot to charge me, due to a technical glitch on their end. Then they charged my card for the missed cleanings plus 2 additional months when my bins weren't cleaned. The next month they charged my card twice. I asked for a refund 4 times over the course of a month, through various channels (email, phone, text), but no response. Then I disputed 1 charge with my credit card company and the owner was on the phone the same day asking me to cancel the dispute. No way! I also told him he should refund the other 2 months, but he didn't do that either. I obviously canceled my service and decided it wasn't worth trying to get my $68 back. Now 6 months later they keep calling me to charge me for my cleaning in December, which I was charged twice for already! Bin cleaning is a good business idea, but not with these people. read more

I had a really bad experience with Bin Cleaners. I initially scheduled and paid through their website. No response. No one showed up on the day. I wrote them several times inquiring about a reschedule- no response. Their phone number is always a busy signal- didn't even know those still existed in 2021... Finally, I got an email saying they were coming almost a month after the schedule I requested. By then I had already power washed my own bins. By the way, you can easily get a nice power washer at the hardware store for the cost of one visit from Bin Cleaners. When I tried again to cancel them and request a refund on their no-longer-needed service there was still zero response and their phone number still busy. Such a frustrating experience in the end that I had to write this review in the hopes that someone from this company will realize their scheduling/follow-up is hopelessly broken. read more

What an awesome service! Our compost bin was nasty- food scraps stuck to the bottom, mysterious liquids, all kinds of gross things. It got to the point where there were a bunch of flies living in it and in the garage where we keep the bins, and then the flies started to appear inside our house- yuck!! I found Bin Cleaners after a quick Google search and I'm SO happy I did. I paid for one-time cleaning of all 3 bins on a Monday morning, right after our weekly trash collection. I decided to call an hour later to work out scheduling. Given the fly situation, I didn't think this could wait more than a week. The guy who answered the phone was very understanding and said that depending on where I lived, they might be able to clean the bins that same day. After the call, I texted my address and kept the bins outside on the curb. A few hours later, I saw they were completely clean and sanitary!! I put up a few fly strips to get the remaining flies in the garage and now that they don't have trash gunk to feast on, the flies are all gone!! Can't believe there is such amazing service out there for cleaning bins! It has been pretty hot these days and our compost bin unfortunately developed some nasty maggots. We never had our bins cleaned since moved in here and we decided to find some cleaning service to give them a bath. After googling I found this company and gave them a call. The booking process is incredibly simple and easy. We booked a one-time cleaning service for all 3 bins. Placed an order on Tuesday and provided estimate of when the bins would be emptied. Received service confirmation on Wednesday. On Thursday once all bins have been emptied, we texted them so that they can come sooner. Around 4pm or so, 2 people showed up. They first used a shovel to get rid of old dirts stuck on the walls inside the bin. Then use high pressure water guns to pressure wash them. After that, we saw 2 of them crawl into the bins to wipe them dry. Please see pictures attached. They're like new again!! There were maggots there before cleaning! Best $55 I've ever spent. Oh man! This was the best thing ever! Your garbage bins will never be so clean. The guy that came was super super thorough. They first use a hand held pressure washer with steaming cleaning solution to spray down the outside and inside VERY thoroughly, and then the cleaning machine picks up the bins with hot soapy water and dumps it into the truck. The bins are inverted over nozzles from the truck and they are sprayed with steaming high pressure cleaning water again. And then they use a scrubbing sponge and hand scrub anything that might be left. They end with spraying it down with disinfectant, and then hand dry it with a towel. I cannot believe how clean our compost bin is!! They did an extra bin for us because we have an extra compost bin that Recology keeps forgetting to take away. Highly highly recommend this! read more

I saw their truck on the street and thought "what a great idea". You mean there's actually someone out there who's willing to do your dirty job? So I check them out, they have monthly rate, quarterly rate or one time rate. So we scheduled our first one time rate, which was absolutely reasonable for what they have to do. Although I must say, communication was a bit tough, they couldn't confirm immediately or shortly after we placed the order online. Then when they did, the window for when they would come was way off. But to be fair, I think they try to work on your garbage day schedule. So if recology is late, they're late. Highly recommend scheduling with them several days before your garbage pick up. We had three bins out waiting for them. Our compost bin was filthy because our compost bags were constantly breaking. Our recycle bin wasn't at its greatest either. When these guys finally showed up, it took them probably only 10 minutes and poof, all three bins were sparkly cleaned AND dried!!! We were impressed with the results. This is an awesome service once scheduled. It did take over a week to get a scheduling response after placing the order. I received a confirmation email on 6/8. I followed up a couple of times, but did not hear anything about scheduling until 6/16. Aside from this, when she arrived she did an amazing job. She kept a sharp eye out for the streetcar, working quickly and diligently. Our bins, especially the compost were absolutely disgusting. They ended up very clean and sanitized. Service was pretty good. The bins were clean very well when service was provided. Unfortunately, the service was spotty in terms of when it would occur and when you would get an email notice. (I once received an email on the day of my garbage pickup that my bin cleaning was scheduled for the prior day.) Frustratingly.... the latest problem was a request for payment for service not requested or provided. Not entirely sure I'll be asking Bin Cleaners for their services in the near future. I definitely would not do a blind monthly subscription. If you currently have service with them I would check your billing as they have been going through an accounting and scheduling upgrade and there appears to still be issues. read more

Like many, I saw their truck on the road once and thought, wow what a great service. Fast forward to this week when I wonder what on earth that smell is in the garage, only to find out that what I thought was a still-empty from last pick up day compost bin, actually contained a large mass of something stuck inside and growing fast. Hurried to google this company and put my order in with a note "please come tomorrow if you can, horrible things happening!" I was contacted within an hour or two and the company even offered to come that same afternoon, but I wasn't at home. Our bins had not been cleaned in a year and it was especially dirty after the holidays with layers of debris at the bottom of our green and blue bins. Saw one of their trucks parked in the Inner Sunset and decided to give them a call. Scheduled to have one cleaning just to give them a try. You don't even have to be home, just leave your bins out (or schedule them to come the day your trash is picked up.) Will came by, and began clearing out the bins first with a shovel, followed by a hand-held pressure hose then it goes onto the truck over gigantic nozzles that use heated pressurized water. Our bins needed a couple of cycles. In between cycles Will would go deep into the bins and hand scrub. Thoroughly cleaned the inside and outsides of the bin... and the crazy part... dried it inside and out!!! What?! Look freaking brand new in and out. Will most likely subscribe to their quarterly service. Entire service is scheduled, processed and paid for online. Cancel at any time. Highly recommended. read more

After I submitted the request, they contacted me right away and the driver who happened to be in the area came by to clean the bins.
