After a bad experience with one of the big HVAC companies, we contacted Binder for some AC work. The technician did everything to save us money and fixed the issue after the big HVAC company said we'd need a new furnace. I feel that Binder is a small, but honest company. read more

Very very impressed with Binder heating and AC. We have been battling without air conditioning for three years after a different company did an install improperly causing us flooding in our attic resulting in 20k of water damage. Not to mention leaving us with a headache that no other company would touch. If you have a high velocity unit in your attic which many company's do not work on they will work on them! They were extremely professional and very well priced compared to many other companies. Would highly recommended them and their whole team! I was a customer for 5 years. The first 3 years no issues. My problem is not with a technicians. They are all very knowledgeable, courteous punctual, and they never try to upsell you and they're very honest. My problem is with their scheduling. The last two years that I have scheduled routine maintenance for my furnace I get a call the day of the appointment which I have already taken time off of work for. I get the call saying well, everybody's furnace is broken. Can we bump your appointment.... last year, they were still able to get somebody here fairly quick. This year, they call again same thing. We had already had cold weather. So don't know why suddenly everybody's furnace broke over the weekend. It wasn't terribly cold the weekend preceeding this review ... why do you guys schedule maintenance if suddenly there's a big emergency and now you're not going to honor your appointment. Do you guys not have the staff to handle emergencies and routine service simultaneously? The last appointment I made. I didn't even get a confirmation email saying okay you're all set. I had to reach out and confirm. I also reached out to make an appointment for my furnace check in september. I got a response saying we don't do furnaces in september. Maybe if you get all your tune-ups done in september. Suddenly when cold weather comes and everything is an emergency. You guys would be a little better prepared. I'm not an HVAC expert. But not a good way to do business if you're going to make appointments with your existing customers and then suddenly not honor them, especially when they've taken PTO time off their job to have this work done. I have re-booked with another service who's going to come out this week and oh yeah, no problems whatsoever. read more

We had Binder over for the first time to service the air conditioning unit in a house we just purchased. Kyle, the technician, did a thorough job and took his time to inform us about the condition of the unit. Binder seems very much like a company that just wants to help and won't sell you anything you don't need. I have decided to invest in their annual service plan, which has been great thus far. The technician I've worked with, Chuck, has been great about giving tips for me to ensure a good functioning system; I really appreciate this! At this point, I'd give Binder a 10/10 and plan to continue to work with them, and possibly consider a few add ons that were suggested. Michael Binder came out to give us an estimate for a new Lennox AC unit. We were very pleased with the professionalism of having the owner come out himself. I am a retired pipefitter of 42 years and I am very familiar to quality work. I own a rental home that had a gravity air furnace in it that had to be replaced. So in 2016 I hired Binder heating to install a new furnace and run new duct through out the house. They were great to work with and did a great job. Since then I have signed up with their maintenance program where they make sure the heating and AC are in good running condition. On a hot June day Chuck was a signed to come and check the AC unit. Everything checked out good except that I needed a new thermostat. I told Chuck that I would install it. He told me what to buy and how to wire it and to give him a call if I had any trouble. Chuck did call me first to see if I got the AC running and I told him I wasn't sure what thermostat to buy so he helped me out with that. After I installed it I called him back and told him it is still not running. So he stopped by the next morning and changed the wiring on the stat. Thanks to his extra effort the AC was running in time to cool down my home in upcoming hot weather. read more

I have been dealing with other HVAC companies over the past few years. They always come in and "find" something that needs to be fixed immediately so that I don't have a pipe break, flooding, loss of heat, etc. And, everything that needs to be worked on seems to be at least $2,500 for a start. Miraculously, the things that they say are going to happen never do. This time, I searched and found Binder. The tech came out and solved my problem on my boiler (and, it seems that the other companies didn't service the boiler properly). There was a part that needed ordering, so he made sure that it was working with a temporary fix until the part came in,and called me a few times in the meantime to make sure everything was working properly. I had the boiler fixed and one of the parts (which was going to be $2,500) replaced for under $700. I will definitely use them again and recommend them. read more

They play around with how they bill for time or at least nobody understands their policies. !5 minutes becomes 1 hour, 40 minutes becomes 1 hour, so a 55 minute job became 2 hours billed. I was given 3 different explanations from 3 different people on how they charge, including that the job would take 2 hours because of it's complexity by one tech who went into specific details about welded brackets, then was told by another tech it would take 45 minutes (it only took 40 minutes). That tech told me they charge hourly, the office manager told me they charge by 1/2 hour increments, plus that they charge for drive time. I will not recommend this company to my friends, relatives or neighbors nor our association. read more

Within hours the on-call tech arrived at our home, assessed the situation and explained our options. Early Monday morning I received a call from the office letting me know the necessary part was purchased and the tech would be over shortly to install the broken piece. Our entire situation was taken care of promptly and efficiently. We have relied on Binder Heating and Air Conditioning since 2008 when we replaced our original 1938 furnace in our home.
