Way overpriced. I have been getting grief about the 5100 water heater lower option replacement from everyone I have talked to. I honestly feel embarrassed to even say anything to our local friends now. The only thing I tell them is the techs are professional and responsive but beyond that I can't recommend them. They poured too much into tech or something for when you call and I know staffing levels and good steady help are hard to come by.. same water heater replaced by 3 different friends was 3k cheaper. read more

2/19/24: Jimmy did a plumbing inspection for us again (he did our inspection last year, too) and was friendly, professional, meticulous, and very knowledgeable. He flushed our water heater, replaced the clearly corroded solenoid rod, didn't try to upsell us on anything we didn't need, checked all of our faucets and plumbing, and even--VERY kindly--helped explain how to hook up our new fridge water line as it was delivered while he was here. He went above and beyond during the several hours he was in our home. We are thankful for our Sunshine Club Membership with Comfort Matters so we can have free plumbing and HVAC inspections and tune-ups each year, priority scheduling, and discounts on any repairs. We've used Comfort Matters for all our HVAC related work since moving into our home last September. We only have the highest praise for CMs maintenance and installation work. Chris (consultant), Nick and Ian (installation) took care of our new HVAC system install needs from start to finish. We had no concerns nor issues to think about, other than what system and cost was best suited for our townhouse unit. After selecting the best option CM's installation crew came a few days afterwards and did the complete HVAC install in one day (actually about 7 hours). By that evening we were up and operating. They made sure we were comfortable with the process from start to end. You won't go wrong using this company. Even before coming out they send a brief bio of the techs or consultants serving us so we get to know a bit about them up front. We purchased a Daikan system 3 option and Aprilaire whole house humidifier. So far, we are very pleased with the system and twice a year maintenance. read more

After we got everything fixed I've realized that heat and an ornery wife can make one overreact. While Comfort Matters may have given us some information that at the time was incorrect I don't believe it was done intentionally or to be misleading. They said they had just been out to do a preventative service so I didn't think it necessary to check the AC outside. If I had I would have noticed that the filter on the unit had been completely covered in grass and debris. Which was causing the issue. I take some blame for not going out and checking this but took the word of the person on the phone that they had recently been out. However, it was in fact NOT a Preventative Maintenance that they came out for. This the confusion. I have otherwise had good results with this company and will continue to use them for all my rental properties as well as my personal home HVAC and plumbing needs. read more

I WISH we had called someone else!! They charged us over $1000. just to put in a sink faucet. then it still leaked! They also pressured us into posting a positive review which seems shady!! We had the faucet already. Then they pushed us to sign up for this monthly program they had. I would NEVER EVER go with them again and as soon as this contract is over we will cancel it! we had scheduled an appointment for a plumber on Tuesday, September 20, we were given a window of noon to 4:00 so my husband took off the afternoon to be home for this appointment so we can get our issue taken care of. Communication was a little iffy as they said they called both of us and left us voicemails letting us know they wouldn't be able to make the appointment. I got the voicemail but not until half an hour after the end of the appointment time. My husband sat at home from noon to 4 waiting to hear from them and never did. Only to find out they weren't gonna be able to come because we had been bumped out for a different issue. I am empathetic to the other customer that needed them however we had an appointment scheduled, and my husband took time off work to be there for it and then to find out they weren't coming as scheduled and that they could guarantee us another appointment on Friday, today is Tuesday. do they only have one plumber? I feel like they could've been more accommodating since they're the ones that canceled the appointment with us and without notice. Maybe had they said that they can be out first thing the next morning we would've been a little bit more likely to use them however telling us they could guarantee us a spot three days later just doesn't cut it. So we told them don't bother, we will find a different plumber, which we did. they're coming first thing Wednesday morning. We would not recommend comfort matters for a plumbing services. read more

He was friendly and went above and beyond when I needed help and he even fixed my thermostat that kept flashing "filter". I've called on Comfort Matters a couple of times now and I will say they're quick, on-time, friendly, and helpful. You should be prepared for a heavy sales pitch though. They will 'helpfully' suggest hundreds of dollars in extra fixes you didn't know you needed (and probably don't), like a $700+ dollar electronic air filter I 'need' to get because the regular pleated filters are bad for the HVAC system. They'll also spend a lot of time trying to sell you a subscription to their twice annual maintenance program. If you know what you need done, and can say no to a sales pitch, Comfort Matters will do great work. If you're susceptible to sales pressure, you'll probably end up spending a lot of extra money. Very poor experience. I reviewed this company recently. The owner responded back. The owner was responded to. As I understand it no review can be removed by the company being reviewed. I was able to find and read the review until just after the owner Corey responded. Where is my review? Has Yelp also been less than honest/ethical? Bottom line, I was deceived. I was told there was a hole in the back of my furnace and that the furnace needed to be replaced. Total "stress-out". I'm past retirement age, working as a nurse... yes, through all of our covid and it's uncertainties/stressors, paying off a furnace loan I had no choice but to take out. I was shown a picture of a hole that was supposedly in the back of my furnace. I also just had had my furnace inspected by this company and received a perfect "bill of health". I was never shown the actual back of my furnace either, by the way. Shortly after, my neighbor told me there was no hole. I kept quiet out of embarrassment for falling for one of the oldest tricks in the books. I would never recommend this or any other company that puts money/greed before truth. Appalling isn't it? I'm writing this because others have likely become victims. Maybe this will help so others will not become victimized. This has rocked me. Long story short, we had previously been working with a different company who came out, spent 15 minutes testing some things and tried to sell us on $800 worth of parts/labor that would not have fixed the issue. I was furious, called Comfort Matters at 4:00 PM and they came out the NEXT DAY, spent time actually diagnosing not only the problem, but the CAUSE of the problem. Had the issue fixed (and the what caused the issue) fixed and heat working the same day. I have ripped off every single sticker and magnet on my furnace and these guys are the only ones I will call from here on out. I received a direct mail piece from these guys about a "sale" on upgrading my HVAC equipment a while back. I figured yeah, typical stuff. I decided to call them just to check it out since I knew my system was almost 20 years old. As soon as I met with them, I knew this was not your typical scam or budget company. These guys know their stuff. Wound up having a full system replaced. They were simply amazing. Top notch crew, all of which couldn't help telling you how much they loved their job, and their attention to detail really showed. Then I met Corey, the owner, and I knew where these guys got their work ethic. He was not happy until I was totally satisfied. Changes to the system from things I hadn't thought about were never a problem. The yearly maintenance plan sounded expensive at the time but the argument about protecting the investment was sound. Now I'm glad I did. Here I am 5 years later. The system still performs like it did on day 1. Their people do preventive maintenance twice a year (they call you to schedule the free service .. no hoping you forget stuff). Any issue is immediately corrected. They have 24/7 service which I've had to use once. They were fast and less grumpy about being called in the middle of the night than I was! There are not enough good things to say about these people. May not be a cheap budget outfit, but you truly get even more than you pay for with them. read more

We have used this company for almost four years for service and repairs. This year we bought the service plan. Don't know why we did not do that before! The ease and cost is not a lot more than doing it ourselves. Less hassle! I have always been immensely pleased with courtesy, timeliness, thoroughness of job performed and prices are competitive for this area. The company calls to remind of that service is due, calls the night before to confirm and then the technician calls the morning of the appointment to state the time of arrival! Salesman was friendly and helpful but workmanship was absolutely the worst I've ever had from an HVAC business. Holes were left in the wall uninsulated, loose wires were left hanging from the floor joists, electrical junction box was left hanging by its' wires (literally), and poor installation literally caused the floor joists and walls to vibrate whenever the A/C ran. I should have known better to use them when they asked for payment before any work was done. Now I know why. Doesn't it seem odd that every review you see for this company has nothing but glowing remarks? I highly doubt they're from actual customers. Follow up Dec 2015 - I've waited to do a follow up because I didn't want to say anything out of anger which would unjustly slant the facts. After the previous review was written the owner contacted me (see his response below) and emails were exchanged. He offered to have the electrical work inspected which should have been done when the job was completed in the first place. He mentioned also that they have a money back guarantee if I wasn't happy. I told him that I wasn't really looking for a refund but that I'd rather have somebody come out to take a listen to the excessive noise. Without even sending anybody out he blamed the noise on the A/C unit and didn't acknowledge the possibility that there was something else wrong. He then went on to accuse me of saying something I never said. At that point I told him I didn't want anything to do with him or his company. He emailed back saying it was all a misunderstanding but didn't clarify as to why. I don't know what there is to misunderstand. Workmanship that was very substandard was performed followed by excuses and denials, an unwillingness to rectify excessive noise (not standing behind the work that was done), then finished off with a false accusation. I certainly have plenty of grounds to justify being an unhappy customer. I have the photographs to back-up my claims (which were sent to the company) and I kept copies of all the emails. The excessive noise issue was never addressed, and/or a refund (or even a partial refund) was ever received. I'm not understanding the logic. Why are companies so willing to permanently alienate a potential lifelong customer in exchange for a quick buck, especially in this case where it would have been so easy to avoid and the chance for repeat business was high?
