Obsessed with the cupcakes here. There are a variety of different flavors and I'm a sucker for anything that is unique and not what you would typically find at your chain grocery store or bakery. I decided to try their ube flan, mocha cookie crumble, and nutella flavors. All three were delicious but the ube flan in particular, really stood out to me. I like that they use mochi flour in their dough which makes the cupcakes more spongey and dense than your traditional cupcake. I also tried a couple of their savory bites - a mini spinach and cheese quiche and a mushroom empanada. The quiche was a bit on the salty side but both were still very good and came freshly hot and toasted. Definitely will be making a return visit! read more

I loved this cafe spot in Millbrae. There is ample free street parking nearby. The staff is friendly. I ended up getting a churro cupcake and a dulce de leche milk tea - the cupcake was wonderful and not too sweet. The milk tea syrup definitely gave me a sugar spike but to be expected based on the drink I ordered. Free WiFi and a great place to study/work. Not busy at all on a Wednesday around lunch time. Actually, 2.5 stars IMHO. I had been Jonesing BB for some time after seeing them on IG. I guess I had built them up too high with anticipation, however. From what I can tell, all (except for the Ube ones) of the cupcakes start with the original/base bibingka. It is the toppings which impart the "flavors". Once those are gone, you know what remains right? My original intention was to just pick up the cupcakes. However, I ordered with my hungry stomach which led me to get a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and the Strawberry Matcha Latte, as well. I paid $7 for a lackluster sando the size of a hotdog with bun. It consisted of just meat and cheese. Where were the peppers and onions. The SML was just ok. They should have pureed the strawberry as the 1/4 and 1/2 sized strawberry pieces could not make it up the straw. read more

Once upon a time I used to be a loyal customer at the South San Francisco location so when I found out that they opened another one in Millbrae, I had to check it out! The binkas are always super fresh & tasty. $5 per binka can definitely add up...so I try not to come all the time because I know I would want to buy more LOL. The ube flan will always be my favorite! You also can't go wrong with the salted egg & cheese. The staff is quite friendly and I was surprised with the large amount of seating. It's a nice place for a treat every once in a while. Delicious Bibingka and empanadas! A large group of coworkers and I went here for lunch on a Friday. We all got a few empanadas and hot dog buns as well as bibingkas. Staff are extremely friendly and patient taking our large order. Not a ton of seating, and we pushed together some tables and moved around some chairs to fit everyone. I've been to the SSF location prior and was surprised to learn there was another site in Millbrae. Decided to drop by here recently to pick up a dessert for my great grandmother's birthday after some of my family members said we needed more treats to feed our large family. I was happy to find that this location was larger and bright, located in a prime location in Millbrae among the gyms, shops, and markets. My boyfriend and I were thirsty and needed a little pick-me-up, so we decided to order some drinks along with whatever dessert I was grabbing. I asked the staff working the front if there were any pies left and he managed to let me know there was one whole buko pie in the back! We ended up ordering the following: * 1 whole buko pie = not sweet, quite large, rich in coconut flavor! * Manila ube espresso latte = rich in ube flavor but also didn't overpower the coffee. Both my boyfriend and I agreed this was a really good balance for an ube-coffee drink. * Vietnamese coffee = strong, rich, and truly coffee. Boyfriend and I were impressed since most non-Vietnamese places we go to tend to miss. This was a plus! I feel like although we were there for a pick up, this would be a good place to meet up with friends and have a little chit chat. It could also just be a good potential work space since the venue is pretty open with some warm lighting. This is their second location. Their OG is in SSF. They need to work out the kinks. Mainly train the cashier on how to ring up people and to focus on one customer at a time. When I came in they asked me what I wanted and they confused my order with the guy in front of me because they're trying to train their cashier while trying to pack the food that we ordered. I had to repeat my order several times even though I just had 2 binkas and a cookie. It's really not that complicated. The cashier had a hard tike finding the buttons to push to charge me for my order. I was hoping that being open for a fee days they could have trained the cashier ahead of time, or find a way to make things smoother for their customers. The ube with flan is my flavor of choice, as is their mango. At $5 a binka it adds up fast, and I'm still unsure if it's worth it or not. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, and with such a small binka cake and their flavor and texture it's not something I'd crave. Their crinkle cookie wasn't that good and was super small for $2. The binka and the cookie were 3 stars average. It wasn't the best thing I ever had, but it did the job by being a snack as I waited to get my haircut next door. read more

Man, the fact that this bakery is right next to the gym I go to is dangerous LOL. I'm really glad I found Binka Bites. The pastries are soooo goooooddd. I got their muffins, bread pudding, and donut. All in different flavors as well, and I gotta say, I liked all of them!! The muffin has a soft, chewy, mochi like bite to it. Their donut has a very mochi chew to it and I love that texture. It makes for a very springy and soft chewing experience. I really enjoyed their donut. The bread pudding is also pretty good. Soft, chewy, and packed with flavor. It's a must. I haven't tried their cookie yet. Oh and their iced coffee is really good. Smooth and not that acidic. You should grab a few treats and coffee from Binka Bites. It's seriously good. the DESSERT GODS ARE BLESSING ME!! Needed a quick stop to do work with wifi and stumbled upon Binka Bites and was so delighted I stayed for 2 hours. These cupcakes? Rice flour chewy textural delights????? PHENOMENAL. OUTSTANDING. Had the Ube Flan one and was blown away and so had to get the chocolate bavarian cream one AND a salty egg and cheese bibingka. New items always bring me back to Binka Bites. They're now serving Halo Halo $9.95 -- this was really good. A little on the sweet side with a tad too much condensed milk with a lotta beans. Also bought a slice of coconut pie $7.50 -- zero sweetness with actual slices of coconut flesh, a little bland and expensive. Since it's summer, there weren't any customers around 3:30 on a weekday. Met Jose who work here today. Picked up a quick bite to eat. I got a couple of spam musubis and ordered their ube espresso over ice. It's quite bitter for my liking so I added some agave syrup to sweetened it. Now it's sitting in the freezer so I can get it to be a little slushy in two hours while I work at my desk. Picked up the caramel churro which incidently reminds me of the dulce de leche kisses from Porto's Bakery in SoCal. So this has gotta be my favorite flavor at Binka Bites. read more

We were in the area looking for a cafe to work in and by chance found Binka Bites and so glad that we did! Solid wifi and the interior was cozy for coworking. Staff was super friendly (Raymond) and helpful since it was our first time there. I had the Ube latte and it wasn't sweet at all, which I prefer. I'm always cautious with flavored lattes since they are usually way too sweet. The Ube latte is premade and comes with two espresso shots. You can add sugar as you please. If you are looking for a sweeter drink, the Ube coconut drink may be the better option. My colleague did say it was a bit too sweet for him though. The two desserts we tried (churro and ube flan) were delicious. Perfectly chewy and "not too sweet" - the best balance!! Was excited to try a new coffee place, but alas I have to keep looking. Ordered the black sesame latte along with 2 of the crinkle cookies. The latte was super hot! Had to leave the lid off for a few minutes and still burned my tongue. Didn't really taste any coffee, it was more like black sesame milk. Which isn't bad but just not what I wanted. On the flip side, the crinkle cookies were great! Tried one of ube and one of pandan. I liked the ube more but only because it was more fudgy/doughy. We came here looking for somewhere to hang out after a family event. We ordered an ube latte and some bibingka cupcakes. The bibingka bites were ok to be honest. They are really small for the price. The ube latte tasted like a plain sweetened latte (I didn't taste any ube flavor). I might have given this place a second chance, but the man working the front (wearing a NY hat) was rude and condescending. Just okay - I've tried Binka Bites in Millbrae a couple of times hoping for a different outcome each time but it's never gotten better. I've tried most of the binka bites flavors and really was just never wowed. The flavors could be stronger with more of a filling. The mochi texture could be more as well - it's still too dense for what I would prefer for a mochi cupcake. Got the Vietnamese coffee with coffee jelly and Ube flan bibinka. It was good! Good relaxing atmosphere. They had a Samsung frame TV with good sound bar in a living room set up right when you walk in. Also the store itself is really spacious with ample of seating places/options...the aforementioned couch seating, normal table, and they even have bar top seats as well. I've tried the Binka Bites in SSF before, so I was really excited when I found out they opened another location near my workplace. I dropped by during my lunch hour and got the ube flan and the binka tres leches, which I believe is only available at this location. The ube flan was a classic, delicious as expected. The binka tres leches was exceptional, eating it was an experience itself! It was chewy, moist, creamy, and everything good in a treat. I would say everything is on the sweeter side, but I have a big sweet tooth so it didn't bother me at all. Service was also very nice and friendly. Overall, would recommend! read more

My wife and I are fans of this place! We're glad there's a Filipino Bibinka dessert spot! I personally loved the Ube Makapuno and Ube Flan flavor. I'd definitely orders these again. My wife really loved the Dulce salted egg foavor; I also thought it was good but not my fav. The Dulce de leche milk tea wasn't that good either. Stopped by this place after a quick massage and was pleasantly surprised. The prices are great, especially considering how expensive food is these days. We tried the Mango Matcha Latte and the Ube Latte--both were delicious. We also ordered a chicken empanada, which took about 15-20 minutes, but we didn't mind the wait. Still, the staff kindly refunded us, saying the wait was too long, even though we assured them it was fine. Super sweet workers and a warm, welcoming vibe. I stopped by this location to wait on my friend to deplane from SFO and was surprised by the super cute interior. There were plenty of seats to chill/study/chat. I ordered: Manila Ube Espresso Thai Milk Tea Calamansi Matcha Lemonade They have a non-caffeinated Ube latte, but if you want a caffeinated Ube latte, get the Manila Ube Espresso which comes with a double shot. The espresso was nicely layered over the purple Ube. Although it was pretty to look at, the drink itself wasn't potent enough. There really wasn't an Ube flavor and it wasn't sweet enough. The Thai tea definitely tasted like freshly brewed tea instead of a powdered drink. However, it was much more milky rather than tea-y. The best drink out of all three was the Calamansi Matcha Lemonade. Loved the citrusy taste with the matcha! It's a good combo -- and it was just the right amount of sweetness. If I came back here, this is definitely what I'd get again. I haven't tried their binka bites, but since this is what the shop is called, I'd say do try them for yourself! read more

Stopped by for the first time during the Wine and Art festival during Labor Day weekend. It was early and there was no line. I ordered a mango match latte and the turn around time was quick. Service was friendly. Place is clean. I was surprised that there were jellies at the bottom of the drink, which I'm usually not a fan of, but I didn't mind these as they were very flavorful and fresh. The drink was on par with the mango matcha at La Matcha Cafe. I look forward to coming back to try more of their drinks. read more

Love coming here for a little cupcake treat and to grab a few extras to share with friends. I love ube everything so I always get the ube flan, ube macapuno and ube langka cupcakes. Cute cafe that replaced Kakiyuki (which I'm sad they are gone now). My coworker saw the bibingka on Instagram so I wanted to go try it out. I actually went to the ssf location, only to be disappointed that they sold out of bibingka for the day. Luckily, this location seems a lot bigger and friendlier. I was able to get a dozen bibingka and I gotta say the salted egg, ube (all of them), and the matcha cream were my favorites. Workers are friendly and they are there to help you if you have any questions. I took mine to go to share with my coworkers but they have a nice area to sit. They offer coffee and tea which will probably go well with your bibingkas. read more

Was looking around for different cupcakes for a party I was planning and my Mom and I decided to go into Binka Bites for the first time. Located right in downtown Millbrae underneath the 24 hour Fitness. Around the area, there is plenty of street parking. If you don't find street parking, theres a huge parking lot with more parking right next to it. Parking is also free! Walking in, I loved the space, plenty or room to sit and enjoy your pastries. We let the lady behind the counter know it was our first time here, and she explained to us the texture of the cupcakes is not like your ordinary cupcake consistency. It was actually more airy and not super sweet at all! (which was a good thing to us). She mentioned to us her husband/owner? is diabetic so everything they made there is perfect for people with diabetes! I actually thought that was a cool fun fact. We ordered a couple of their cupcakes to test majority of them. They were all delicious with that subtle taste of whichever flavor it was! I also asked the lady which she recommended for their drinks. She told me to get the Strawberry Matcha. For me, I didn't really taste the matcha flavor. I mainly only tasted the strawberries and the milk. I probably wouldn't get that one again, but I'm open to try another! read more

I first came to the TO-GO location in South SF a few years ago when my ex and I were on the hunt for mochi pastries in the Bay Area. I was surprised to hear they also have a full bakery location opened in Millbrae so I decided to stop here to give it another try one night after work. I arrived a bit later in the evening so the selection was limited. I was hoping to try a mochi donut but I got a flan mochi cupcake instead. According to the staff, both the donuts and cupcakes are made from the same batter. Craving sweets? Here is a spot to visit, the staff is welcoming the spot is homely. They do have several variations of these bites, I still prefer the original plain but the ube craze does come close to being better then the original. So many options, lanka, mango, ube, coconut, etc. You can sit on the side or on the couch provided, bright color on the wall, hard wood floors, again nice and homey. The owner did come out to chat with us and asked the kids what their favorite flavors were, asked what Filipino restaurants we liked in the area, and compared notes on here is good, here is good, here is just ok lol. We did ask how come they no longer go to the Burlingame farmers market, main reason is if they have two shops open they need to have both manned, they don't have more staff to spare.
