Found this new banh mi cafe a while ago and finally had a chance to write a review. The food is good and the owners are nice people too. I always love supporting small local businesses. I usually order the pork combo and it's my favorite, but a few times the pork quality wasn't as good. There was too much shredded fatty meat, and I personally don't want most of my meat to be fat. I just hope the quality can stay consistent and the portions remain generous. I'd love to keep coming back whenever I don't feel like preparing a meal myself. read more

There's not much competition on this street related to milk teas or boba. I was in the area and craved a refreshing drink so why not? I opted for the Golden Buckwheat Milk Tea with grass jelly. Heads up that there's an additional charge ($0.25) if you choose no ice. If you choose whole milk, that's another ($0.50). Toppings are standard pricing. My drink included light ice (was it really light ice?), whole milk, and grass jelly. After everything, my drink was almost $7.50 I wouldn't be so peeved if the drink actually tasted good, but my drink was very watered down with no flavor. It tasted like water and milk mixed together. Was nearby so decided to try a new boba spot. We just tried a new place for food right before (and it wasn't good) so we were slightly concerned about trying someplace new...but it went well. We tried the osmanthus oolong milk tea with boba and the panda milk tea, which was both good. The panda milk tea was great value as well (6.50 for a milk tea with 2 types of bobas), though it was $0.25 more for no ice and $0.25 to change to oolong (you can choose between black or green tea for no added cost. I tried green instead). The osmanthus oolong came with some sort of jelly (tea jelly?) that we didnt order, so I'm unsure if that is by default or if a mistake. But either way it was a pleasant surprise (we thought it was ice at first glance) The boba was nice and chewy. Sweetness level wise...50% was a little too sweet for me, but 25% seemed a bit too light for me at first sip. So I was hopjng for a middle ground. Then halfway through the cup the 25% seemed better to me, so who knows? Maybe taking a sip of the 50% first just threw me off? read more

Impressive boba shop in South SF. I got the strawberry smoothie with honey popping boba. I really liked having the ability to choose the level of sweetness with the smoothie. I opted for 25% sweet, which was the perfect level for my preference. BeauTea provided a good amount honey popping boba pearls, which complimented the fruitiness and tartness of the strawberry flavor. Like many other reviewers, I was pleasantly surprised to find such great tea drinks and smoothies on Grand Avenue in South San Francisco! The drinks were top-notch, and there's a surprisingly large variety to choose from. They also serve Vietnamese comfort food, so it's easy to grab a meal along with your drink. Ordering is done through a kiosk, and while there's no seating inside, the window bar is a good spot to enjoy your drink and people-watch. Wait time to get the order can be anywhere from 12-20 minutes sometimes. Note, prices are similar to what you can expect in the South Bay/San Jose area. We had the Coconut Water with Matcha Cloud $6.50 & the Biscoff Jasmine Milk Tea Cheese Mousse $6.50. Both tasted decent and not too heavy even at 50% sweetness with 50% ice. Cup size is good. It's a popular spot for locals in the area and public street metered parking is in front. There's only one huge window to look outside. Not bad at all. read more

Yay Milk Cow!!! Milk Cow is a milky soft serve from Korea. I'm not sure where the milk is coming from (US or Korea?) but every time I've tried different locations and cities, I love it for how it has a strong milk flavor with creamy consistency. I loved the first bite with the same great milky dairy-forward taste, but this time, I could taste grains of fat in the ice cream. It got a bit gross after. Not sure if the milk was frozen at inconsistent temperature but I remember the creaminess being smooth previously. This is also a more togo place - not much seating inside or outside. I like the panda milk tea that comes with the 2 toppings so it came out or less than $7. My son's drink was $8 with 2 toppings. One size drink only. Street parking can be tough and frustrating. Pay on the tablet with credit card or at the counter is cash only. Small place and no where to sit. But if we are eating in the area, I would stop by. Came across this place on Grand Avenue during my lunch break. Under new ownership and is now serving Vietnamese takeout! Saw a sign for buy 4 get 1 free banh mi so had to check it out! Ordered the combo banh mi and shrimp/pork spring rolls. The banh mi bread was a little hard as it may have been toasted too long? I think if there were more pickled veggies it would be better. I would give it a 7/10. The spring rolls came in a box with peanut sauce and chili sauce. The spring rolls were freshly made upon ordering. The spring rolls were pretty basic but the peanut sauce was the star. Very good mix of peanut butter and hoisin? I think if mint leaves were added it would give the spring rolls a little more texture and taste. 7/10. All in all I love that there's a Vietnamese takeout spot in this area that is not Ben Tre and Kevin's noodle house. Will be back to try their iced coffee and rice plates! read more

I've always loved this spot for their salted crema jasmine green tea with boba. Their tea drinks have always been very fragrant. I haven't been back in a long while, and I love finding out that they've expanded their menu! Metered street parking on Grand Ave. Upon entering, you can now order from their touch screen station. You can still order the traditional route if you have cash. I got their salted crema mango green tea slush with boba... LOVED IT. Staff said it was one of their most popular drinks. The mengo jasmine tea with cheese crema was prevalent and so delightful. After eating lunch with friends nearby, we all decided to get boba around 1:30pm on a Sunday. There wasn't much of a wait and you order at the tablet near the front counter here. We ordered the Brown Sugar Milk Smoothie & the Mango Passion Fruit Tea. My Brown Sugar Milk Smoothie was good, but I felt like it might be a little too sweet for me. It was basically like a brown sugar milk tea, but sweeter! I also tried the Mango Passion Fruit Tea and that was very refreshing, not too sweet, and very fruity. Total fail. The restaurant packaged my order with two orders of fried fish balls, and two boba drinks on top of it. By the time it got to me via delivery, the fish bowls were cold from being under the cold beverage, and the Boba drinks were warm with the ice melted because they were on top of the hot fish balls. Went there again last night and while the ice cream was good it was the end of the night so the product quality suffered greatly. The ice cream was gritty and full of little grains which I later figured out was milkfat that separated from the cream. They melted against the roof of your mouth like tiny grains of butter. We still ate it all because it didn't detract from the flavor but be aware of this if you serve the last of the ice cream (another customer after us was told there was no more ice cream. I wish I could contact the owners but don't see any contact information on their website. I need to give some feedback which I don't feel is necessary to post publicly. read more

Like a few already said, new ownership. I was greeted by a really nice old couple. Nothing wrong with the service. But the usual things I order, they don't taste the same any more. The black tea definitely has a different flavor and even by looking at the color, I can tell they are using a different kind of tea leaves. I used to love their black tea. The popcorn chicken is smaller in portion now too and it's not crunchy enough like they used to be. I'm sad. I missed the old flavor of my tea.. :( read more

We got two drinks: white peach oolong 75% sweet with boba and the mango grapefruit jasmine green tea slushy with cheese mousse. Overall thoughts on drinks: White Peach Oolong w Boba: Pretty solid + standard white peach oolong, definitely a reliable drink to get in the future. Boba is also good texture-wise and consistency-wise! Ice was unfortunately all melted when we got the drink, but didn't deter the taste much. 4/5 Mango Grapefruit JGT Slushy: This drink GROWS on you. First sips were a little off-putting because of the sourness of the fresh grapefruit bits, but as you continue drinking, the flavors blend together super nicely. The fresh grapefruit adds extra chew/texture for the people who like the texture of toppings but don't necessarily want boba, pudding, or jelly. 4.5/5 Unfortunately, the service really ruined the experience for me which is why instead of a 4/5, I had to dock it down a bit. The drinks took 20 minutes to come out and there was no one else in the store. There were two people working at the time and they definitely took their time; one of them looked at my order then started eating and another made my drink halfway then walked off (maybe to clean the blender), but the other one didn't step in until the VERY end. Both employees seemed to be very uninviting and bordering on indifferent with the drinks. At the end, when they finished my drink, one of them just slammed it lightly on the counter without saying anything, no calling out a number, drink name, or saying thank you. Horrible customer service all around. Would come back for the drinks but definitely not during the same time frame to avoid that service! Besides the drink itself, I also love how not only do they sell boba drinks, but they also sell savory snacks and soft serves. Many options for people to pick for both sweets and savories.
