I had the misfortune of kicking up a rock while I was edging along the sidewalk in my front yard with my Ego string trimmer. The rock broke out the glass in my storm door. What a mess. I didn't know what to do for glass replacement so I went to a couple of big box home improvement stores I thought could help but I was turned away both times. It seems they can only help you if your door happens to be the brand they sell. Fortunately, Binswanger Glass came to the rescue. On a Monday afternoon I took them the aluminum frame with glass shards stuck all around it and told them what I needed. The two women working the front office were polite, friendly and very helpful. They measured my frame and gave me a price on a piece of tempered glass which would have to be custom ordered. I apologized for the condition of the frame and all the attached glass shards but they assured me it wasn't a problem. The price wasn't cheap but it was fair so I went ahead with the order which they told me should be ready in a couple weeks. They do require a 50% deposit on custom orders which I put on my Amex card. It took a little longer than expected for my window to be ready, a little over three weeks. I appreciated the phone calls and solid communication keeping me informed of my order status, the delay really wasn't a problem. When I picked up my order they even carried it all the way and loaded it on my truck. I was very pleased with the quality of the product I received. The frame I provided was pretty ancient and kind of rickety but they made it work, it is now good and solid. I got home and snapped the window and frame into the old screen door. It was a bit stubborn but a little elbow grease achieved a nice tight fit. On my visits to Binswanger I observed other customers placing and picking up orders. All the employees I observed appeared professional and helpful. I was impressed with the quality of customer service and products. If I have need of glasswork in the future Binswanger will definitely be my first call. read more

I loved that I was able to walk in and Rusty knew exactly what I needed. Super nice office, from calling and stopping in. Head me get him measurement and when I called he had it in stock. I picked it up and he gave me some good advice as I was doing it by myself. Loaded in my car and I fixed my door that day. Easy peasy! Binswanger Glass can handle almost any glass project. We contacted several window replacement companies to replace our home's fogged windows. Everyone who came out offered us prices well in excess of $15,000. We then contacted Binswanger Glass, who came out and informed us that we could only replace the glass and keep our frames. Binswanger was less than half the cost of the lowest quote to represent us. We now have double-pane windows with a full warranty that we can see out of. They were an absolute pleasure to work with. My passenger door front window shattered when all I did was to shut the door of my 2000 Dodge Dakota pickup truck. I put in an online request for repair estimates and heard back from Binswanger right away with an estimate for mobile service. When I called them first thing Monday morning I was informed that it would be a week or so before they could come out, but they said they would get it done that day if I brought the vehicle into the shop. I drove to have it replaced at their location and was called that afternoon to come pick up the vehicle and it had a new functioning passenger window! I had an awful experience at another Binswanger location on First Colonial, but remembered never having a problem with the Chesapeake branch in the past. I called and spoke with Susan at the Chesapeake office. She helped me sort everything out. Between her and the manager, Ray, they got me a convenient appointment, PROPER install, and made me feel like a valued customer, rather than like the burden that First Colonial made me feel. I highly recommend Binswanger Glass in Chesapeake. My sales rep, Christy, and my installer, Andy, were both absolutely wonderful! Late Sun evening during a wind storm, a heavy object flew through one of my first floor kitchen windows completely shattering the storm window and the bottom portion of the double hung window. I called Binswanger Mon morning, and they sent Andy out that afternoon. He took measurements and came back the next day to replace the glass in both windows.
