This experience turned into an absolute nightmare. They carelessly nailed through my air conditioning line REPEATEDLY (see photo). This mistake caused major damage and left me without AC -- not only an inconvenience but a massive, unexpected expense to repair. When the problem was diagnosed, I contacted Atlantic Craftsman to see if they would help cover a portion of the cost. I would not only need to repair the line they destroyed, but I would also need to have part of my roof taken off to access the pipe. They emailed me back saying that I was on my own and that they wouldn't cover ANY of the repairs. What's worse, the company showed little accountability. They didn't even acknowledge that they made a mistake or say sorry for the problems they caused me. I reached out again asking if they could at least provide me with some extra shingles since I would need to remove a portion of them to repair the pipe. They never responded to my emails or phone calls. The team on site also destroyed my plants and left nails everywhere (resulting in a popped car tire). If you're considering hiring them, beware. The owner Joe came out to talk to me and discuss my roof and he was very down to earth and didn't try to wow me with fancy products or different levels of products/services. He just gave me a bottom line price, informed me of the warranty and we had a no nonsense conversation. The work was scheduled about a week later and Joe let me know that his roofing crew has been working for him since high school, that was a big selling point for me. The work was done in a day and when the crew left, it was hard to tell that they were there as the yard was spotless. The roof was done professionally and at a good price. Things I was not happy with: I asked the foreman at least 3 times to remove the hideous satellite dishes that were on our roof and there is still one up there. I even had a guy come by after the job was done to check it and I told him about the dish and he said he'd remove it but he never did. Also, one of the workers dropped a nail gun on my HEAD while I was entering my house. It hurt and I was annoyed. I know it was an accident but they need to be more careful. They also left a ton of nails and stuff everywhere and smashed all my plants tramping around everywhere. Overall, the roof looks great but I wasn't blown away by the service. read more

Horrible communication and poor business practices by the office manager. She doesn't listen or is not engaged with assessments. Her justification why her team were late was "call outs" as if it were my problem and I'm interfering with her business. No, agreed time was set and she failed to contact me to let me know that her failed planning has affected the accepted business meeting. On top of that, she said that the crew didn't need access to the house to make agreed repairs. Last piece was not killing the mold that was identified. Regardless if the crew didn't need access, the proposed window was exceeded by 3 hours for the phone conversation where the customer was the initiator. And 6 hours until personel showed up. No notice that they were fixing the roof, no notice that they completed the repairs. The owner wasn't even informed. They lack quality, they lacked professionism from the office, they lacked business ethics, and they lacked any positive busienss sense what-so-ever. He responded to all of my questions promptly and accurately, and was very pleasant. The crew that came to remove my aging roof and install the new roof was friendly and very efficient. I have used Atlantic craftsman in the past and had great success with them. so far I have not had any problems with this roof repair and it looks great. I can't do a 5 star because communication with this contractor is extremely poor. I did absolutely all the contacting in this transaction with the exception of Mike who called me to set up a quote. I understand that contractors are busy, but a small amount of communication goes a long way. I waited for about a week after signing the contract and was never called. After that week was up, I was continuously calling Mike and the office to get an idea of when I would be put on the schedule. It took approx 3 weeks to get this scheduled for a repair. The only reason I stuck with you is because of my past experience and your price was very competibe. Please work on communication. read more

The work they do is great, but the communication stinks. After my roof was repaired and my money was deposited I got the impression they no longer wanted my business. I called on a Monday, I was told "blank" would call me back. Thursday came and I called, finally spoke with "blank" and he said someone would call me Wednesday. No one did, so I called them, and they said they'd call me back. it's Thursday and no one has yet to speak to me. I finally said screw it, and I called Doormasters. Within 15 min doormasters called me back, told me they'd have someone out Saturday, and my doors would be ready for install in 4 weeks. The excuse I kept being given was how busy and swamped they were. No one can be that busy that they can't even return a phone call. I would recommend for the roof if you don't mind calling and doing the leg work. I had to continually call to get an appointment. I also had to work the readjustment on the insurance paperwork. Thank you Joe for responding to my review. It's funny that you stated that you didn't do the work. Your right you didn't do the work......so why are you suing me for $1,000? Because we decided to go with another company that could complete the job within a week compared to the 3 months we had to wait for Atlantic Craftsman Co. to do the job! I spoke with a few of my neighbors and they said they had the same problem with how long it takes and decided not to go with Atlantic Craftsman Co. and you harassed them also for changing their mind. Maybe if you could execute a quicker turn around as far as completing a job you wouldn't have people choosing other companies. They are band from my community. If they have any representatives come on our property, the Homeowners are instructed to call the authorities to escort them off our property. I would not recommend this company. 16 years ago they put a new roof on for us. Last week we noticed a few shingles missing, wife found the paperwork. Friday afternoon I looked them up and and told them my story. The following Tuesday a representative called, told them what was up and he said they would be out at 8 am. Wednesday morning. Wednesday morning they pulled in at 8:15am looked at the roof and what was needed, gave me a price, as it was no longer a warranty item( I didn't think I was). They went up did the repair, cleaned up and was done. It's 9:55 now. So yeah when I need to replace the whole roof in 10-20 years or any other roof repair, I will call them again. read more

Really poor communication. Said I was still deciding. They showed up anyways while I was at work, charged an exorbitant amount for labor and acted like they called to check in even though I can clearly see they never called to follow up and never said they were on the way. This was the only company who identified hail damage on my roof on the quote inspection. This discover saved me over 60% of the replacement cost through an insurance claim. Bill expedited my insurance claim and made it a seamless hands off matter for me. All I had to do is collect the settlement check. Roofing team was spot on!!!GREAT! Customer service was BEYOND TERRIBLE. Siding and trim team i would NEVER let back in my yard- DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY- NOT WORTH THE PISPOOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! The roofing team was great. They laid out tarps and picked up almost every nail and scrap that they could. I only found two nails in my entire yard. Overall I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of work and the timeliness of the entire roofing crew. I have absolutely no issues with the ability of this company to fix roofs. I also got a quote to fix some rotten wood trim on my house- and the person quoting me also told me that the quotewas high because there was not a whole lot of work for them to do- and they never called me after the roof was done to schedule it after i agreed to a ridiculous price of $700...I agree solely on the reputation of this company as they have done a few roofs in my community prior to this...My wife and I called them on five separate occasions and they never once called us back to confirm an appointment to fix the siding/trim. Two months later I come home (today)and I find foam in my yard and insulation all over my AC units. Apparently they decided that they wanted the job after all even though it was never scheduled with me and I did not give them the OK to come into my yard. They also did not fix the one section that I originally hired them to fix in the first place!!! The sad part was there were nails Mixed In with the insulation. Got a referral from a friend. The owner came by after hours and was very nice, said he would send me the estimate that night. Never heard from him. Got a call a few days later from the office asking if anyone had come over yet, I told them the owner had but had never received the estimate. They said they would contact him and get it to me that day. I've called at least four times for the estimate but have given up. The last time I called they said the owner was out of the country and they'd try to get the estimate from him. I asked if there was any way just to get someone else out to get me an estimate since I need the work done soon and the woman said I can see if ____ can come out this week and then hung up on me. Atlantic Craftsman has been a very reliable company for myself and my family. Their service is unmatched. I called them several years ago about an insurance claim after hurricane Michael in October of 2018. They replaced our roof because of the amount of storm damage that we had and assisted with the claim with my insurance company. We have since had a couple of shingles blow off during one of our most recent storm. I called their office to get a repair estimate since this was due to a storm and wanted to keep my warranty in tact, since it is a 10 year warranty through them and the manufacturer. The polite young lady that answered the phone was able to pull all of my information up and informed be that the warranty I had covered the blown off shingles, she also informed me that it would not cost me anything and would be scheduling a repair tech. to come out with in two days. The repair tech. came out and repaired the roof, just before our most recent snow storm. I am happy to recommend a professional and reliable company. read more

I had scheduled a chimney cap replacement. I had no one call to confirm the appointment so I waited at home for them to show up. No one ever showed up so I was late for work for nothing. I then had to call five times throughout the day to try to get a response on why they didn't show. All I kept hearing was Caitlin would have to call you back as she did the scheduling. Never once got a call back. Finally someone called me the next day with an excuse to re-schedule and at that point I took my business elsewhere. Not to mention I had to pay $100 to temporarily fix my chimney cap in preparation for the hurricane. Extremely disappointed in their lack of service. read more

I used them for my rental house in Greenbrier and they were very pleasant on the phone and they guy who came out to quote the roof was excellent. he helped me with a quick patch because it as about to pour then they gave me the quote and it was the most competitive plus was a very high quality shingle. someone in the office also send me a picture of what my house would look like with each shingle color so I could decide which one to use. It is unfortunate that I have to post a negative review about this business because all of this could have been EASILY avoided if they would have honored their 5 year warranty back when we hired this company in 2013 to repair our bump out copper roof in our formal dinning room. When we started with Atlantic Craftsmen, the owner [Mr. Joe ****** ] was very instrumental in the proposal process, as he was on site and directly provided the quote. Furthermore, after the project was completed, he assured me that we were in "great shape" and would not have to worry about a leak again. Now, I understand things happen and we are all a work in progress, but, to completely avoid the situation, not to return my calls, and just display a lack of professionalism is not acceptable. The primary reason for hiring this company was due to their professionalism, competence, & warranty. Furthermore, they do not honor their own core values on the landing page of their website... In closing, during their months of neglect, we have experienced further water damage to our chair rail, wainscoting, shoe molding, & crown molding...During their months of neglect, I have interviewed about 7 roofing companies and 1 Master Brick Mason, consequently, they are all in agreement that the job was not competed correctly. This company came recommended to me by a friend so my husband gave them a call. They said they'd call back and set up a time for quote on our roof. Several days passed and no phone call, so I then gave them a call. The person I spoke to told me that he'd be calling me back later that day or definitely by the next day. I had multiple estimates on our new roof, which was installed on May 9, 2014. Another company, beginning with "Rey" and ending with "olds Exteriors" wasted 3+ hours of my day off with my family (reviewing their ridiculous 5 inch binder of commendation letters and samples of business licenses) with their high pressure spiel about how awesome and qualified their company is and how no one else measures up, as they badmouthed several of their competitors. Oh wait, one of the salesman did take some bogus measurements from the yard (the results of which he would not share with me). This was prior to trying to sell me a roof that must have been made of Spanish tile coated with pure gold. In contrast, the final estimate was from Atlantic Craftsman, specifically by the owner Joe Glazebrook. He personally spoke with me as he took measurements and discussed the state of my roof and what specifically (all top-rate materials and roofing methods-the exact same materials the other guys quoted, except Joe included water-proof Tiger Paw materials beneath the shingles) would be included. He even let me keep several samples to review colors at my convenience with my wife. He never even turned off his van. Within 20 minutes, during which time I never felt rushed, he provided me with a very professionally prepared estimate and portfolio with detailed description of the materials and methods, as well as information about his company (which, again I was allowed to review at my convenience). Wait, you mean Atlantic craftsman also has a "A" rating with the BBB, is a "Master Elite" certified contractor with GAF, has a Good Housekeeping seal of approval, insures all of their workers to the hilt to protect consumers, provides a consistently great product with excellent customer service (and warranty) before and after the job is done, and didn't put my savings in the red like the other company attempted? That's correct! Donny, Atlantic Craftsman's logistics guy, and Joe are always accessible via phone, and you get the peace of mind knowing that the owner provides the very reasonable estimates and they offer financing, if needed. Our roof was done in less than a day; the workers were polite and careful to protect the plants in our yard and cleaned up well afterwards. Despite this, another member of their company arrived 2 days later to ensure all nails and debris were removed (maybe 4 nails total). These guys are top-notch.
