Spent 2.5 hours at Biolife today without donating. In the past when I donated plasma, AB Positive, the plasma centers were happy to have my blood since it's supposedly for universal burn victim but that was not the feeling I got from the center. First off they were understaffed, had booked to many clients, and detailing the information before hand could have saved me 2.5 hours of sitting and watching staff take people out of turn. I had to have my GP sign off on sleep apnea so I wasn't able to donate and they could simply put that in the information they put out. I took time away from my business thinking I was helping out by donating and then wasn't able to. I could understand if it was something that had a correlation between donating plasma and sleep apnea but there's not. I did share my experience with the center manager who was apologetic but I still lost over 3 hours with waiting in their office and drive time. The center manager had a quote outside his door about leadership is not "being in charge but about taking care of those in his charge", he should realize the donors are a part of that group and at no time did I ever feel like I was being taken care of. Not sure if I'll follow through with the release from my GP with my dis's appointment over services. read more

I was turned away because I only had a good vein in one arm. I came with a friend and then was told I needed to wait separately for her to be done. The staff was very rude, and refused to try and let me donate despite me telling them I had donated before. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Not only were they rude to me, but were generally disrespectful to both me and my friend when I tried to tell her the situation as to why I wouldn't be donating with her. The money isn't worth it. Biolife is hands down the best plasma donation experience in the valley. I've never been turned away for lack of seats. Thanks to brand new machines, the whole process takes about 45 minutes, as opposed to up to 3 hours at the other guys. The facility is clean and the staff are friendly and professional. Nice staff but there are way too many donaters at once. I sat here for 3 and a half hours and didn't even get to donate. Like omg.

Was not a professional experience. The staff looked like they were all run down and didn't quite care anymore nor did they look professional. There was a lack of organization in the facility and frankly did not feel quite clean. Do to the lack of organization in operation the wait times were ridiculous. For a company that promotes a promise of excellence there is quite the flaw in the representation of what that should have looked like. read more

Unfortunately there are some serious incompetent employees at the Meridian BioLife. They miss the vein, dig up and bruise you resulting in not being able to donate, after taking a physical they don't input it and when I go to donate again they can't figure it out and decide I must be sick or have allergies (though I am 100% healthy and well) because the condensation in the ridiculous mask they now make you wear caused me to sniff, and the very large nurse with a power trip decides that maybe I'm not a good candidate to donate, even though I've been donating 2x a week for 2 years, because I "may" have sniffed because of allergies.....the way I was treated today was shameful. read more

Their website and app is glitchy. it will delete appointment randomly. First time it happened I thought the mistake was mine but it has happened a second time and this time I have a proof. I can't reach anyone on the phone makes me wonder if they answer their phone, They for sure haven't return my call after leaving a voicemail. have heard much better service from people that use the plasma center on overland. read more

Don't schedule your first donation on a Sunday if you are hoping to get fully compensated on your second donation. There week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday. Confusing and irritating, yes I know. Most of the staff is friendly; though they don't have to change their gloves when helping different people. The place is pretty clean. Wishing they would send out an email saying they're going to change the beginning of their weekday or other changes in the future. read more

So, I started going to Biolife to earn some extra money I believe my first day was Jan 26th and after that I've been going every weekend! But, after I had my dentist appt. they had prescribed me with some pain medications for my tooth and since then after coming back I haven't been able to donate because my pulses have been high it varies so now I'd have to check up with my doctor and see why this has been happening. Honestly, I do get excited every time I go in and that could be a problem why my pulse is always high I can never control it. But, I will surely like to go back there again as soon as everything is good and done! I love saving peoples lives, it makes me feel better knowing I'm doing this for a good cause! read more

To many people long ass lines should have more people and not have to many people come in at once

The staff was inattentive and forgot about me twice and not once did the mention it or apologize for it. I was there for almost two hours until I was finally seen by a "nurse" who told me I didn't qualify because I had gotten a tattoo in March of this year. I was so frustrated with the fact that nothing was mentioned to me about this beforehand. The nurse didn't seem to care about that and said that they PURPOSEFULLY don't tell people this because they will lie. What's the difference between asking a person first thing off the bat and asking them when they've already been there for two hours! It would be nice to have a disclaimer on the website or have first time donors read a disclaimer before making them waste their time. I will never go back and plan on relaying my horrible experience to everyone who mentions your company. read more

My first visit here was great! However that's where it stopped. I gave slack considering my follow on visits fell just before and just after the Holidays, but your experience here will be hit or miss. I like that donating plasma helps people however I found myself surrounded by people just looking to get gas money or people who use plasma as an extension of their income. Don't bother scheduling an appointment it doesn't matter your just another donor whether you donate to help or donate for gas money. If you have a question you are referred to ask a nurse, Google will give you an answer sooner and without making you feel like you are wasting It's time. I did meet a few excellent people there, Greg, Kelsey and a lady that goes by nay nay always make you feel like more than a number. read more

There is a donor shortage right now. People who need plasma are dying because of it. I've donated plasma wherever I've lived with no issues. THIS place. The first time I went in they wouldn't let me donate because they didn't like what I've eaten that day. Even though I've never had issues donating before on an empty stomach. The second time I went in they had a full on interrogation of all my tattoos and piercings. Most places just ask you if they're over a year old. They needed details of each and every one of them and said I seemed hesitant. But when you have as many piercings and tattoos that I have, you don't remember exact dates. All I can tell you is we're in a PANDEMIC right now so it's been over a year. They're going to call when they decide if my belly button ring I got 8 years ago is acceptable, but honestly, I think I'm just gonna find a different place that actually cares about the amount of people dying from the plasma shortage. read more

Rude and disrespectful towards military veterans, site says i can donate plasma with my current service connected medical issues but the 2 nurses determined to permanently defer me as they first told me i wasn't nourished enough to donate plasma after I challenged that and said I would go eat they then showed me something that says that I can not donate with them which is not what they're website says read more

They missed my vein and caused an 4" by 8" hematoma and now I can not donate for weeks all this pain for $20 not worth it I will go back to giving blood to Red Cross they never messed up like this. They are nice until they mess up then they want to get you out of there as quick as possible no checks by a nurse. read more

OK, I'm not quite sure how to write a review for this place. It's certainly not like writing a review for a food place. At least in that context, you can compare restaurant to restaurant. I have to admit, I've never donated plasma before. I will say that although the first visit, since it included a physical among some other things, was a bit long but just a bit over two hours. The rest of the times that I donated have been very quick and easy. The staff that works there seems confident, and happy to be there. I felt safe donating, and would definitely do it again. The one thing I would do though, is wait for them to run a special. To me also there and donate since it only takes an hour for $50 per donation. Any thing lower than that just seems like kind of a waste of time. read more

Lately the wait time has gotten completely ridiculous after u check in. Bio life controls the appointments, but I just found out from one of their associates they no longer limit the amount of appointments at a given time. They control the staff they have on at a time. It is a joke u have to wait an additional 15-35 minutes every time after u check in... all because they don't want to have appropriate staff levels on at a shift. It is a joke. Limit the appointments per time slot , so obvious!! It is all becoming less worth it. Pushing close to 2 hours now for a donation. Prior it would be about 60-75 minutes approximately. Like get some decent managers who can staff properly. Today probably will b my last donation. As I have already been sitting here close to ten minutes in waiting area and a ton of people r still ahead of me. Blah!! read more

This place is completely unprofessional, unorganized and rude. I will do whatever I can to warn people not to waste their time or precious blood. There are far better places to donate your blood. My wife scheduled an appointment more than a month ago and upon arrival today, she was asked to produce a "Tax Document". I asked if they wanted a W4 but the response was "No, a Tax Document." Obviously, these people are not educated enough on what to ask for or even what is required. Then she was asked for her Social Security Card! Who keeps that in their purse or wallet? Uh, nobody! She produced a scanned copy on her phone and then was told that it could have been Photoshopped so they need to see the original. I am 42 and have not shown my original SSID Card ever that I can recall. I am also a person who has had the deepest background checks and security clearances. I have also never had an issue with that for employment. Then, they told her to produce a copy of our 2016 Tax Returns. Sorry, but this felt more like an audit than a blood donation. Game over BioLife. My wife and I both have long been avid blood donors and my wife also happens to have O+ Blood Type that is CMV Negative, which means that her blood is highly sought after for children and infants with cancers or other complicated situations. We are relatively new to the area but I still can't imagine that this is the normal way to be treated when trying to become a blood donor! I will be inquiring with the State agency that oversees this activity to see what the actual regulations are and how we go about registering an official complaint. I would normally not do this but when you deal with a situation as dumb and stupid as this, it is entirely warranted here. Please be warned. read more

My boyfriend went there and was approved, donated and came back for his second donation and was denied.( because of a tattoo on one arm) I watched the same girl that approved him and a man say no less than a week later??? Why did they say yes the first time????? Nothing there is consistent! When the technicians said they need to check if he qualified I watched then tech argued about It! Like we can hear you! We have been upset since! The guy kept saying thanks for understanding but we didn't! Watch them they do not change their gloves! They draw your blood put it in to a metal cup clean it out and take the next client!!! And same with the people that ok you up to the machine! And they honestly are not trained well and will almost always need help to get the needle in! How about less talking and asking questions about my life and pay Attention to the work your doing!!! I have been donating at Biolife for about year. The first appointment is pretty long...around 2 hours. It consists of a physical and health history. Donating itself, usually takes just under an hour. I have run into problems here and there. There have been a few times they couldn't find a good vein to poke and sent me on my way. Which I totally understand. I recommend (as do they) drink lots of water the day before and day of and you usually won't have that problem. The holiday season can get pretty busy. I've noticed the rush of people starts getting bigger in November. At times there can be a pretty decent wait. I have never waited more then a half hour, to get a chair. The facility is clean and most of the staff are friendly. There are a few people that you can tell do not like their job but they still do the job just fine. I will say, they are not in a rush to get you through the line and hooked up. I see it as, they are getting paid regardless of how quick or slow they get you through. Overall I'd recommend Biolife. read more

Biolife needs to get it together! I've never donated because they never let me. If its no the fact I had a surgery 7 months ago then it's because I don't have a updated address. This center seems more interested in the speed of the donation than the safety of the donor. I let the technician know there was a problem early on and they didn't address it for 25 minutes. The next day I had a tennis ball sized bruise on the right arm where the injection injury occurred. Tried to talk to the head manager of the facility but was only able to talk to a low level manager. Being so hit and miss I couldn't recommend this facility for donating plasma at this time. read more
