Make sure not to EVER accidentally click the wrong answer on the questionnaire at this location or the grouchy nurse you'll get sent to for questionnaire check might just have a melt down that they have to do a task assigned to them! I've donated at the Nampa location at least 30 times since I've lived in the area and have always been very good about carefully reading through all their questions on the questionnaire and making sure I select the correct answer but I have one slip up one time where I accidentally select the answer next to what would have been my answer and get sent to the nurse on duty who has the nastiest attitude about it.. I didn't catch her name but she's a little older and blonde. As I sit in her office, she rolls her eyes and rudely remarks "I'm always having to tell people to slow down answering the questions! This is the 50th time today!" I politely apologized to her explaining I must've had an off day because this normally is not an issue i have but what I really wanted to say was I'm sorry she hates her job so much. I get we all get frustrated at work from time to time but she needs to try better to keep her cool in front of donors. I'm considering switching over to CSL or Proesis. From what I've heard they have much friendlier staff.. and they're likely more efficient too. I've had several staff members who've not been able to find my veins here and that often leads to painful donations where they've spent several moments just poking around in my arms and I've waited long periods of time to be unhooked from the machine at the end of my donation while the employees have full on conversations with other donors and each other. read more

At this BioLife I experienced abuse from one of the tech "managers" named Kayla. I entered Biolife at 2:10 PM for my scheduled second donation. I completed the form required for the second donation and stood in line. When I was called to have my blood drawn Elaine told me there was an issue with my form. I needed to wait for a nurse. I was not given any more information other than that. She handed me a blue slip and ushered me towards the nurses office. There were only two available nurses so I ended up waiting 30 minutes to see a nurse which was fine. When I did enter the male nurse's office I was told it was an easy fix and I just needed to do a thumbprint. I exited the nurses office and re-entered the line. Elaine was working with another client so I was not called to her station. I was called to a male manager station (no issue with him). While the male manager was taking my blood and going over my forms for testing, Elaine said to the client next to me, "looks like there's an issue with your form. Let me go ahead and fix that for you." I didn't want to interrupt her while she was with her client. So, I waited until the client was not present and I turned to Elaine, I said " just a quick question really curious why I was not offered the same luxury as the client that you just served." To which she did not say a word because Kayla, jumped over my words and down my throat by saying "you needed to go to the nurse that other person did not." Kayla was not assisting that other person and did not know the information or anything that was happening. I was immediately made a target and Kayla began attacking me. Kayla was standing to the left of the mail manager that was assisting me. I turned to Kayla and said quietly "it was a simple question. I am curious this is my second donation. I would like to speak with a manager, please". To which she yelled at me and said, "I am the manager bitch." I got quiet and let the male manager finish his job with me at the desk. The male manager brought me to the end of the desk and handed me a purple number and did not say anything to me. I was unsure of what to do or where to go from this point. I walked to the purple section and just sat down. I was greeted by a very kind, elderly woman who was working doing the plasma needle placement. I had told her what was happening and she replied to me that she would 'get a supervisor'. The supervisor never came. As I am getting my plasma taken, Kayla approaches me again, while I am actively getting my plasma drawn. She begins to explain to me that the reason why I went to the nurses office to have my form changed, was due to a medication issue that she had spoken with the male nurse about. This is a violation of HIPAA and my rights as a US citizen. The tech or managers at BioLife, are not entitled to know anything about my form that I had completed that was between me and the nurse. She began to shout at me that I had hurt Elaine's feelings. To which I replied to her that I asked a "simple question" and Elaine's feelings are not my priority. My priority as a client is to know all of the information that I need in order to donate plasma correctly. There were four people present also donating plasma at the time that my plasma was being drawn, and Kayla was yelling at me. There were also two other managers behind me while she was yelling at me and they did not interject. The supervisor Bex I did not see or meet with until at the end of my appointment. She did not assist attend or help me in any way shape or form other than offering me a small $20 compensation for my next donation. She said I was unable to email anyone Higher up than her and that I would need to call the customer service HR helpline. When I said, I wanted to plead my case to the head of the office named Brian she gave me a pen and paper to write down the entirety of what it happened even though I had just donated 881 mL of plasma. There was one other person also in the office when I explained to Bex the entirety of the situation between Kayla and I. The violation of my HIPAA rights and the abuse I received from Kayla at BioLife is unacceptable and ridiculous. She has zero bedside manner and made me experience 100% stress level via my Oura ring chart from the ring I was wearing during donation, while I was under donation. She needs to be fired and she needs to be let go from her current position as a standing manager. read more

Unfriendly, uncooperative, inflexible...a total turn-off. As I have been a CSL donor for 3 years, I was told their machines work differently w/out an explanation as to how. I was immediately turned away because: 1 I didn't drink 80 liters of water yesterday 2 My large dinner last night was insufficient for morning donation I know my body when it comes to plasma donation. I made my first appointment and went in to be turned away because I didn't eat enough. Fair and I'd rather be turned away than be allowed to proceed and possibly feel ill. Made another appointment went in eating plenty and drinking a good amount of water. That first appointment does have a lot going on which wasn't a surprise. After finding out I will be getting my finger poked every time I wasn't to happy but honestly it wasn't that bad. Lol. The donating part I was nervous for and I did right towards the very end feel warm but the staff was quick to respond and get my body back to feeling normal. The entire staff were all Polite from start to finish and answered all the questions I had with a smile. I do have another appointment at the end of the week to give donating another try! I do hope that next appointment goes better for me so that way I will feel more confident to donate again! read more

They sent me a coupon which states donations must be completed within 35 days of activating. I activated coupon and went in for first donation on 8/24, I went in for my last donation of cycle on 9/28 which is within the 35 days time frame. They only paid me $40.00 instead of the $120.00 that was due to me. When I called them to inquire Dawn answered and condescendingly told me that I only had 30 days to use the coupon and they would not pay me the rest of what was owed to me. Everyone that has done the needle has done a really good job, the young lady though that did my last Thursday donation was exceptionally amazing when she put the needle in, I felt absolutely nothing, I couldn't compliment her enough. I do have to say though, that most walk around like some of us are an inconvenient to them. I understand that a lot of people come in every day and it may get overwhelming sometimes. I wish I didn't have to get payed for this, but times are hard and most of us don't make enough to pay all our bill's or the necessities, I feel like a low life every time I walk in the door, so it would be nice to feel more welcomed, there are a handful that have been, but that's not everytime I go there. Today was my last donation. The machine was alerting that I was done early because the flow was poor. They insisted it was just the machine and made me keep donating. Blood started coming out from around the needle and even though it was still in and my arm started turning purple. They wanted to adjust it more and keep going AGAIN. They cared more about getting my plasma then my well being when i was only 200ml short. The assistant and nurse were so rude and acted bothered. I did not feel safe. read more

After reading the reviews, I am glad we were turned away for our lack of knowledge and preparation. First time coming in and donating plasma we were unaware of some of the things needing to be done to donate. Donating plasma is something the world needs currently, but I will not be returning to donate to this place! The front office gal, Dawn, was extremely rude. Some of the reviews mention her without name and state she is rude, but rude is an understatement. Bantering with a new customer and having a high and mighty attitude will not get you any new or returning customers! She was our first and last experience of this place and we will not return to be jabbed with unskilled untrained technicians like the other reviews state. read more

Unprofessional, Clearly a lack of training in all aspects. I have donated here for over a year and have never had an issue until recently when I left with hematomas in BOTH arms. I understand there are risks that come with plasma donation but I would expect a facility that specializes in plasma and uses needles to know when to stop poking someone, however the greed here speaks volumes and they will continue to seek veins some people knowingly can't provide. I left with ice packs on both arms and bruising that looked like an assault happened. AFTER telling the "tech" it wouldn't work in the other arm she did it anyway. I left there with $20. I think it's beyond ridiculous that when I leave Biolife Nampa, after being there for 2 hours and 10 minutes, there are 24 people waiting outside for their scheduled appointment. Maybe the company should schedule less people if you can not accommodate them on time. After completing the donation it took a staff member 15 minutes to unhook me because they are completely UNDERSTAFFED!!! Those poor employees... I was waiting near the assistant manager's office and their door was open. All I could hear was them laughing and joking about who they'd fire and things along those lines. Maybe shut your door next time. Woman and man, not sure how many. Respect your employees damn. I've seen how busy this place can get and they seem to work hard. I have been doing this for a while but today was going good until the technician decided that the flow was too slow so she decided to adjust it which meant she had trouble with my needle of course it started hurting so she went to the other arm My left arm is kind of tricky and she couldn't get it she called another technician senior she couldn't get it!! What a waste of people's time. You make an appointment, you get there and they tell you it's a 3 hour wait!! Wait for what, I have an appointment. Then why make an appointment. And don't bring anyone, like maybe your ride, there's no inside waiting. You'll have to sit outside in the 100+ temps. This place is so poorly run it's just a joke. Pretty unprofessional. The staff is on the younger side and they really enjoy their side conversations about their lack of sleep, partying, etc. Not very comforting as they are about to stick me with a large needle. Management needs training in the compassion department, namely Alex. I had an issue with what I was paid for one of my donations, and rather than explaining the way their days of the week works, I was treated with an "oh well, sucks to be you" attitude. When I told him he was treating donors unfairly, he stated, "look mam, just because you didn't read the fine print doesn't mean you are going to get more than you are entitled to." When you are a first time donor, they are nice to you, but once you have been going awhile they become callus and treat you as though you are disposable. read more

Started donating this spring. Initially everything was wonderful, prompt appointments, courteous staff, really worthwhile. However, the last two months have been ridiculous. I have donated for almost a year now at this biomat and I donated 3 years at Grifols in Boise maybe it's covid, but this place is continually making it less and less comfortable to donate which is already a uncomfortable process. Surprisingly I came in n saw the line there where 19 people and only one nurse at the vital station. I waited 15 min in line for my vitals because the got a few more techs to help out. I had a shift manager poke me and he was fast in our n I got on the floor then I had a senior tech Courtney poke me and I didn't feel a thing she was fast and made coffee nervous and that's how it should be. I've been going to here for almost a year now. More times than not the people who work here are not friendly and some down right rude. Especially the lady working check in today. Didn't see her name but she has a short butch hairc and a tattoo on the back of her neck. However there are two people who are always kind and friendly. They themselves deserve 5 stars. This place is a joke. Leave feedback regarding their poor practices on the survey they email you and they'll ban you for life. I've been in the medical field for almost 25 years and have never witnessed a place that is so dirty and unprofessional with under qualified staff. The phlebotomist was the only person that did an ok job. The receptionist and fake nurse were horrible. The physical assessment is a joke. If you want to waste half your day and be treated like crap this is the place for you. This place should be surveyed and shut down. Only a druggie which is what most of the clients appeared to be, would tolerate such a horrible place. They violate HIPPA left and right. Very unsanitary. If you want to save a life by donating plasma I wouldn't choose Bio Life to because you're risking your health and safety and your life in doing so. Seriously it is a dangerous place. One of the other reviewers really hit the nail on the head - over the last year, I too have noticed the level of service decrease. For the most part, the employees are friendly, but they often seem tired and overworked. They deal with thousands of people each day, and the weariness shows on their face. It can be hit-and-miss when it comes to wait times, but it tends to even out. Probably my biggest complaint is the complete lack of cleaning the restrooms: I think they utilize an outside housekeeping service that probably provides its service at night. But the bathroom at your local corner convenience store is cleaner than the ones at Biolife! From paper towels on the floor, band-aids near the sink, and toilet paper rolls that may or may not be stocked, using these lavatories can be scary. Be sure to stay hydrated especially on donation days, and heed the nutritional recommendations, and your donation experience should be fine. read more

What a horrible experience! I had an appointment for my first visit tonight and was horrified for the lack of staff and customer service. This Center is severely understaffed under managed and incompetent. I watched in horror as I saw the front desk try to keep up with the amount of customers very poorly and even misplaced files and didn't know what they were doing. Please get some additional people in this location I was scared to stay any longer if these people are going to be taking blood for me they need to be professional. Additionally, all the customers that came in reeked of cigarette smoke. I was not informed until I got there and waited and waited forever that it could be three hours which is completely ridiculous. read more

I've donated several times now, on one occasion the technician aggressively ripped the needle out and caused a large hole to remain in my arm for a week, hurt pretty bad too. Her bedside manner was awful as well. Thought I'd give them another try. This time a different tech blew my vein and caused a hematoma, continued trying to reinsert with the same needle... Tried the other arm and blew that one too... another tech came and used the same needle, she got it but left it angled incorrectly so it was painful. 15 minutes later no one has checked on me and my injection site hurt badly, I had to ask a completely different tech to help me. She said there was a hematoma in my left arm too! She told the tech to discontinue, but no one actually took out the needle for several more minutes, they left it half in. Not one higher up employee asked for my version of events, I am a nursing student and know the proper way to insert needles and take blood. I am very displeased, will not go back. read more

My experience with this Biolife has been a horror story! I am a 50 year old Grandmother, my family and I decided to donate plasma to save for a family vacation. My original intake nurse made inaccurate notes in my file for my first donation. The next thing I know an incredibly rude women called and told me I should not have been allowed to donate because of the antibiotic I was taking. Crazy things was I took the bottle in with me to the interview to be sure?! Now I have been "permanently deferred", even after my personal Dr. ok'd me to donate? It really isn't a life or death situation for me to donate, I really do not mind. But my point is, I have been treated so poorly, and when I ask why, no one can give me an answer? I've watched people walk into that clinic who are dirty, skinny, and obviously using some kind of psycho-stimulant drug! So, my advice to others who are thinking this is a great way to do a good thing for humanity while building a vacation fund for family fun....leave this experience out! read more
