I have been donating at Biolife for approximately a year and a half- over 70 donations. I have begun to notice lately a marked slow down and lack of personnel here at this faculty. Not sure if the reason. I am here today to donate- had a 10am appointment. It is now 11 am and I just now got a seat to begin. There are only four technicians on the floor and two doing preliminary screening. If it weren't for the fact that I am a returning donor and have a special promotion I would not stand in line for the $20 first donation of the week. Disappointing to see everyone standing and waiting. My suggestion would be to make appointments as early in the morning as possible. read more

It's nearly impossible to get in on time for your appointment, even when you're not a new donor. People come in less than optimally hydrated and that stalls the process. It takes over an hour to get a seat and even longer to get hooked up to the machine. They're ridiculously overbooked with people who can't follow simple directions and BioLife doesn't seem to care that clients are unhappy with it. They have recently started shorting donors on their payments as well. This is unacceptable and nothing has changed in nearly a year. read more

Biolife is awful and this location is no exception. BioLife pays less than all other plasma places in the valley and they are always massively understaffed so expect to take hours. This location is so bad that someone recently smashed the windows because they weren't able to donate due to long wait. That should tell you something about how awful this location is. Go to CSL, Grifols, or Octa. They all pay better, are better staffed, and more professional. read more

Donating plasma at this location is an anxiety ridden experience. The staff is horribly rude, especially when you are at the front counter needing assistance. You need to make an appointment for each donation hoping the have the day/time you need available, which there is really no point for this process. When you do come in at your appointment day/time there is always a LONG line of people waiting, you have to also do the questionnaire on their computers when you arrive not through the app as other plasma companies. You aren't able to submit the questionnaire until the exact time of your appointment, no checking in early. The staff which includes the nurses are incredibly rude, they are always understaffed and usually each donation takes about 2-4 hours to complete. There are other companies that provide the same services that are a lot more helpful, nicer and makes the whole experience more pleasant. read more

There seems to need be a bit of improvement at this facility. It doesn't seem like they communicate well, or really hold the same standards for everyone. The process is rather lengthy- more than it should necessarily be. As far as making an appointment & wait time- I didn't have any issues. It had been 10+ years since my last donation, so I had to start the process all over again; I didn't mind & understood. I was immediately greeted & checked in. Waited less than 5 minutes to start the signup & intake process. They just do things a little backwards here... perhaps taking vitals should be done BEFORE hauling someone back & forth across the facility into the donor areas to check for viable veins?? It's not a shock my blood pressure was on the higher spectrum due to the rate I was taken from one end of the facility to the next, stand up & sit down, back & forth. Couldn't we have done this ALL in one area??? Most employees were educated & pleasant. Masks are definitely a protocol & appreciated. But, there wasn't a whole lot of "distancing". It's a rather crowded facility. Being handed a band-aid sooner than later after being finger-pricked for blood would have been nice, too. I soaked through the gauze for about 15 minutes before I had to finally ASK for something to stop the flow. That was gross. And, I checked out fine, aside from my blood pressure. Except- I'm ALWAYS on the higher spectrum (because of my weight). It's not unusual, so I was a little annoyed that was the reason I was denied & told to come back for another appointment- AFTER they decided to take blood for sample. Well, I COULD have understood that, had the lady behind me (twice my size & age) not register at a higher level than I did. As I heard the SAME employee tell her: "you need to watch your blood pressure because it's too high, but I know you'll be fine so go ahead back to the donor waiting area..." What makes it okay for that person but not me???! I'm not entirely disappointed. Because I guess I saved myself from going through what I consider a "painful" process. I honestly wanted to donate because of what is going on- it is something I can at least give back with! But, they also flat out rejected the coupon I had clipped from their own website that covers the first 8 donations- told me "it's expired" even though I made my appointment within the EXACT time frame! So- was all of that really worth $20 for putting my own self at risk & being judged by a bias employee who favors some but not others? No. I don't remember it being like this when I used to donate years ago. It didn't leave me eager to come back & try again. And, then I read some of the other reviews & realized it isn't just me who has had a less than positive experience here. I hope they can do better in the future, because there are people who truly need & rely on these donations. I'm sad I wasn't able to help another with the cause, but I'm more sad there are likely others who are either being put at risk or turned away due to the inner-works of the employees at this facility & how they seem to pick & choose on their own, not necessarily based on standards or medical criteria. I'd be very wary if you're opting to donate based on the coupon offer they're frequently advertising on their website. It seems not just my own experience today, but other reviews have backed up the fact they aren't really honoring the terms of it. It is rather disappointing to be herded around & scrutinized then only offered bare minimum for the time & literal effort that goes into this (if you aren't flat out denied). A year ago from today I tried going to BioLife Plaza to get extra money and everything I pass through everything it took about maybe two hours and I went to the medical. They asked me if I was on Some type a medical thing (not prescription, medicine or anything) and I told them that I was meaning that I'm not on it anymore and the medical staff were rude as hell to me and everything and I literally wasted six hours of my time just to get denied and then a couple weeks ago. I kind of figured I do bio life again, and it turns out that I was permanently banned for no reason, I do not recommend this plasma place. read more

I need to start by saying the check in staff, phlebotomists, nurses are great. Kind, efficient, etc. I've donated consistently for 1 month. Yesterday while donating the needle was not inserted properly so it was going slower than normal. After about 1 hour I saw some blood leakage from the insertion point and called out requesting help to clean it up. The needle then fell out of my arm (i did not move my arm around) and blood began spraying out like a fountain. My clothes, arms, a little on my face, all were instantly covered in blood. The staff quickly came and bandaged the arm up so stop the blood flow. They gave me some wipes to wipe off my hands and then i went to a sink to to clean off my arms. As I went back to my station I quickly began to decline. The room was spinning, my vision was blurred, my blood pressure was dropping quickly. The staff was quick to get me a wheel chair. I became tired and cold very quickly. I was given a gatorade and some goldfish and told to chug the gatorade as quickly as I could. Over the next 30 minutes my body did stabilize. I was taken to a nurse room to lay down and wait for my blood pressure to stabilize. As this was going on I called a family member and asked them to pick me up as I did not feel comfortable driving. Once my blood pressure was at the point it was when I came in, I was free to go. No one asked me any questions or had me document everything. I went home, attempted to clean my blood stained clothes and took a nap because my body was exhausted. Later that afternoon I was unable to find a personal ride back to the facility for my car so I did choose to take an uber. ($15 ride, no biggie). The next day, I called the center to speak with a manager about what happened and request compensation for my clothes, that I was unable to get the blood stains out. The manager offered to pay for a dry cleaning bill (but not replace the clothes), and would definitely not be reimbursing me for the transportation. To be fair, that was wishful thinking and thought it would be a nice courtesy. As I talked to her about what happened she changed my story and said I was waiving my arms to get attention (never happened). She told me that I had documented what happened and how I felt before I left and now my story had changed. I never documented anything while at the facility. (I later spoke with a nurse who confirmed there wasn't even a way for me to document anything.) I wasn't in a proper physical state to make any documentation. She even told me that my story was constantly changing on the phone. So for a measly $40 I get to replace $100 worth of clothing, pay for an uber, lose an afternoon of work because of side effects and be treated absolutely terrible by the facility manager. So I guess when it's good it's good, just hope nothing goes wrong. read more

BioLife is very unprofessional. I required a new physical because they messed up my paperwork. I waited for at least an hour after checking in without a word from anyone (I had an appointment). I asked the receptionist what was going on and she had no idea and absolutely no care to even inquire or find out for me. I finally snagged the only nurse on duty and she just shrugged me off, saying she didn't know and was going on a break. I must've been there at least two hours and had to drive a ways to get there. This place is absolutely TERRIBLE! Yes they may pay you but they still do NOT value your time! I've been in twice and was waited over three hours to not even be able to donate. Both times they were short staff and instead of being upfront when I checked in, they sent me to get my finger pricked and complete my survey, only to wait around in the waiting room for hours. The people in front of me had been there four hours. No one had said anything to them. Mind you they had no food those four hours but still expected to donate. Don't go here! It isn't worth it! They need to improvise their system and be upfront when sort handed. read more

I went in on 2/24/22 for my fourth donation. During my third donation, I had an air bubble in my vein and one of the techs said we needed to slow down the return. Once he did that, everything went smoothly. For my fourth donation, I informed the tech, Trina, who's badge said supervisor on it that she needed to slow down the return so that I don't get an air bubble. She then went to tell me that that doesn't happen and that the machine detects it. The machine kept stopping so she came over again and decided to switch arms. So we did and I felt a sharp pain and lots of pressure during the donation. My machine kept going off and no one was tending to me and Trina was just there walking around. Someone finally came and I informed her of the pressure in my arm but she continued with the return of the RBC's. She had a nurse come over who decided to stop the process and not give me any saline to avoid more pressure in my arm. Once the needle was taken out, I could barely move my arm. The nurse had me wait there for 30 minutes and gave me an electrolyte drink and some pretzels. My arm is extremely bruised, five days later. The bruises just keep getting worse and so does the pain. read more

They waste your blood. after the donation is done there is still blood in the clear box, after the saline and the line is clear it should be disconnected, however they let the blood fill the line again before they disconnect you. I have waited over 15 min for a disconnect after the donation was complete. read more

The people are pleasant but plan on waiting in line forever. They could do 4X the business if they had enough help. Waited 15 minutes when I got there. Waited another 15 minutes to get the physical. The next line is actually to lay down and get the plasma drawn. That one looked to be at least 30 or 40 minutes. Then 1.5 hours to get the procedure. 4 hours is a little much. Today I signed in as a first time donor which required my DOB, SSN & about 1&1/2 hours of paperwork and exhaustive repetitive questions from staff only to be told after, 2&1/2 hours, that because you are older than 66 yrs old, you cannot donate today, and have to get permission from your personal doctor. This place is ridiculous! Every time I go it ends up being a 3 hour process with 2 hours just waiting in line. I understand places are understaffed but if that's the case then take less appointments instead of having people spend half their day there for $20. I've had numerous bad pokes that leave me looking like a drug addict when I go out in public. A lot of the staff act miserable that they're there. At least they are getting paid by the hour. Every little thing requires " seeing a nurse " which is more time even when you've seen a nurse for the same bad poke bruise 3 times. Myself and several others walked out today after waiting more than an hour and still had another hour before being seated. Paying $20 for plasma that they makes hundreds off of is a racket. This location since getting their new machines is always overbooked. Im talking an almost 2hr STANDING line after getting ur vitals checked to then sit down and get ur plasma drawn after a long wait. Prepare for atleast a 2-3hr stay. I wish they wouldn't overbook themselves like they do because I feel bad for their employees too. read more

This is the 3rd time I have come in over the last 2 weeks and had to walk out before I even started the process because it would have taken a minimum of 3 hours. They do not have enough staff, and only have less than half of the beds open. That would be OK if you only had a certain amount of appointments but they completely over schedule resulting in people waiting hours. I cannot go back until either they hire more people or reduce the amount of appointments. I feel so bad for the employees who are probably getting yelled at every day for the extended long wait times. The management staff must wake up and make some changes. read more

If a plasma center is short staffed they shouldn't be open. They couldn't find my vein and hit an artery. I am still not well a week after donation. No one returned my urgent message. No one answered the phone. I went back in to speak to a manager and was interrupted 3 times by laughing coworkers who seemed to be quite immature. My concerns were valid. This is a training facility for those youths who know you have signed a iron clad contract protecting Bio life. Combine the facts. Short staffed facility and lack of skill. Well while I love some of the staff members. I can't stand that BioLife is making thousands per donor per week and they keep dropping the money that we get. $120 per week and they make over $2000 per donor per week. The math doesn't sound right to me. 200 donors per day is $200,000 per day and per week is $1,400,000. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Everything from the lack of efficiency, to the deplorable way I was treated, to the 4 POINTLESS hours that I sat in the facility only to be asked to come back another day, made me question the ethics of this company. 1. I made an appointment online through the website and arrived on time. That day, I was told that they were understaffed and I would need to reschedule. (This is AFTER getting a babysitter and AFTER driving to the facility). Why can't they call, email or text and let the donor know in advance? 2. I come back for my second appointment, again, on time. I am asked for my name and ID and then to sit in a waiting room. I wait for 45 minutes, with insufficient chairs, people on the floor, in a room that used to be a children's daycare. I don't know where donors would have waited before they shut down the daycare because the entire facility is packed with people waiting. I'm asked for my fingerprint in a scanner, to verify my address, and to verbatim read a paragraph about why I'm there, giving permission to proceed with the plasma donation. There is NO speak of payment, how the rest of the visit will go, what to expect, or time estimations. I wait while the receptionist helps multiple others get signed in and takes their temperatures. She tells me they need another worker up front and apologizes. We finally go to the back to check for "good veins." I'm "cleared" and asked to stand in another line to have my iron and pulse checked (finger prick). Every time you see a new worker, you sign in with your fingerprint. I feel uneasy about this, but the next step is even sketchier. I am asked to complete a medical assessment (understandable) accompanied with multiple waivers in regards to my privacy, health, and all of the possible risks. The facility, of course, is not liable for anything, and you cannot proceed unless you agree to them sharing information with specific companies/people, as well as waive liability. I complete the assessment, and feel like I've invested too much time and pain to leave now. I'm then asked to sit in the waiting room AGAIN. This time I'm on the disgusting floor, for HOURS. People are sitting around on their phones, talking about how many hours they have been there, getting upset, and not getting any answers from the people up front. They state this is normal. The next step would be a consultation or "physical" with the nurse, and then, presumably, the donation which is said to take 30-60 minutes. A receptionist walks in and lets the entire room of people know that if we would like to stay, it would be another 3 HOURS! By this time, it's almost 6pm and I'd already missed another appointment elsewhere, & my phone is dead. I have children at home, my husband unable to complete his work, and we thought my appointment would have been long over (the website says to expect 2 hours). The receptionist offers a voucher for an additional $25 to come back another day. The BIG issue with this is you have to go through much of the preliminaries again the next time! I asked some questions about if I'd have to wait again the next time, they couldn't give definite answers about how long it might take, and said I could stay that day if I wanted, but it would be another 3 hours. I don't have another 3 hours, so I take the voucher and ask to talk to the manager. Chuck, the manager, walks up immediately defensive and clearly did not care about a word of my feedback. I told him about the situation asking about whether this was typical and what I could expect the next time around. He was vague and could give me no helpful information. I then let him know that I found it to be unprofessional to understaff the facility and overbook appointments, having people wait for HOURS to make a donations. He said his workers were all working very hard and hadn't sat down. I let him know that the workers were doing well, but there were not enough of them and it's disrespectful to them and disrespectful of my time to run the facility this way. He continued to be extremely defensive and told me I was "abusing" him. He then used the excuse that "We are in a pandemic!" Clearly, with the knowledge of how long the process takes, the various steps in the process, how many people are scheduled, and how many workers are required to make the process run efficiently, the facility is understaffing on purposes to reduce costs. They could easily schedule fewer donors, schedule more workers, and make adjustments based on this knowledge. The pandemic has NOTHING to do with it. We've also been in this "pandemic" for over a year, so there has been plenty of time to adjust. I see no respect for donor's time what-so-ever. Chuck told me flippantly, multiple times that I did not need to donate there if I don't want to and it's on a voluntary basis. I reminded him that he was treating me as if I was not important simply because I'm a volunteer. I WOULD NEVER RETURN. DON'T DO IT. read more

I have been to several plasma donation centers and BioLife is the best one I have donated at by far. I have donated at two different locations and both are designs identically. The layout is organized, clean, and bright from the windows. Very inviting. They have many donating beds so they can have a lot of people donating at the same time. You have to make an appointment in advance which can be frustrating if you want to just drop in but I'm the long run, this makes it better. Your wait is not as long and the overall donation process goes more quickly. The nurses are all very sweet. Leah in particular is the best. She is very kind and talkative and stuck me better than anyone else. I hardly felt the needle at all! Definitely go to BioLife as long as you plan ahead. read more

I sent a letter to their management, asking to please have my file deleted. I didn't ever complete a donation with them, so I see no reason for them to retain my medical history, not to mention my social security number and fingerprints. I asked that my personal information be destroyed. They wrote back and said they have revoked my access to their app and website, but that they are retaining all my personal information because the CDC requires that they do so under something called a 510k. Because I have no idea what a 510k is and I still don't think they need to retain my information because I never actually got to the donation stage, now I'm reaching out to attorneys to get advice. This company seems like an identity theft waiting to happen! I wish I had never gone there and would warn others to stay away!! read more

Melinda at front desk is awesome, always pleasant, helpful. I have very thin, challenging veins and the only person there that could get it right every time was Trina, and she is gone. They also lost other awesome employees such as Alexis, , and Shelby. The only current employees there now, who can handle my veins are Raymond and Yeltsey, who are very friendly. Also shout out to other outstanding employees for friendliness is Stacy and Fabian. I still go here , but do hate the constant overturn of employees. The place does a good job, but would recommend looking into better scheduling system to assist in long wait times. read more

this place cracks me up! The fastest I have ever been in and out of here is 2 1/2 hours. I also have had hematomas and bruising. The staff advised me that they do not need to be certified phlebotomist, and that they are "trained" when hired with no medical background. last, don't trust their referral bonus. I sent someone and they completed their second donation yet I never received the referral fee. when I called the girl who claimed to be the manager, she told me someone miscommunicated, and I was not entitled to the fee. this place is a joke, no one there is qualified, and they have a bunch of kids running the place with zero customer service skills. The money may be good, but think about how much you're really receiving an hour. I make more going to work and they are liars when they say it takes 30 to 45 minutes. read more

Lyle (and the entire team) at this brand new facility made things zero stress for my wife and me. Giving plasma is a Win / Win ! We give twice a week now when we can. Opening at 6am is great. This place has gone down hill fast. I have been going here for over 2 years now and it has become ridiculous. I am writing this while standing in line. My appointment was for 7:15 and it is now 8:45. It took an hour to get screened and the line in front of me is about 10 people. Do not expect to donate in any less than 3 hours. 1 person doing screenings, and only 1/3 of the stations running. The staff has no urgency. First time donors get put at the front of the line and everyone else waits. Poor management and the payout is awful for the time it takes.
