OMG. These people are the slowest I've ever seen. They might as well be government workers. Over an hour from check in to starting my donation. In a section with a guy that has no sense of urgency. Markus has six beds in his section and 4 people are sitting waiting to get hooked up. He has no sense of urgency at all. Talk about slow. It's not worth your time to donate here. I used to donate at a different BioLife center that ran like clockwork. Never a wait for anything. These people need more training and someone to teach them how to be efficient. Zero stars if I could. I almost died at this last donation. Because they are so understaffed they didn't see me in distress. I couldn't breathe, and I couldn't move, thanks to someone across from me seeing me almost lose consciousness for saying something. They took my needle out but didn't ask if I was okay when I stood up to leave. I waited 3.5 hours for my session at 9:20am and left at 12:45pm I have never been so upset with a business who is supposedly helping people and screwing over the people who are trying to make money to pay their bills. I was promised an amount and I did not receive it. Which really sucked it was a really foul move. I've gone 3 times too many, and it's not worth it. Getting poked, forgotten afterwards for almost 30 minutes. All 3 times have been getting worse and I can't do it anymore. Especially after this last one. These people are not kind from start to finish. The pay is not worth it. The place is dirty. I have noticed they handle blood without changing gloves. There's bloody gauze on the floor. I am so disgusted and angry. I will be reaching out to corporate and the BBB for this, this almost costed me my life for the negligence of these folks literally hanging out and giggling at each other. The fact the way they pay out has hidden fees and ways to not give you your full funds really speaks volumes. read more

DO NOT TELL THEM YOU CHANGED MEDICATION!! Are you supposed to tell them? Sure! But once you do, you have to wait for their "special doctor" to check a box in your file before you can donate again. And that "special doctor" only works once a month! Forget the fact the medication is approved to take while donating, they're gonna make you miss three weeks before they check the special box that says the medicine was fine all along. And to keep from caring, they'll hide behind "it's our policy". read more

Excessively long wait guiness even with appointments. The phlebotomists don't normally have a personality. The last time I went I ended up having to go to the ER...it's costing me much much more than the measly dollars I made donating. They had a new tech on the floor that didn't properly seat the needle in my arm. I told my bicep was cramping when the return started and she finished the process anyway. For the past month the quality of service has gone down tremendously. Every time I come here I have to spend a minimum of 2.5 hours here yet my machine/bed time is 25 mins the remainder of the time is a waiting game because they either over book or don't have enough staff to cover the bookings. read more

I spent nearly 2 hours to start the process to do my first donation. The doctor looks at my Tattoo on my bicep 2 inches from when the needle will be placed. Told me I couldn't donate because of it according to their policy. I Read the tattoo policy multiple times and it states that it can't be where the needle will be placed to donate. The needle would be inserted away from where my tattoo is. The nurse wouldn't even take the time to look at my other arm. read more

After 4 years of going, twice a week, almost without fail, I've stopped. BioLife has lowered their average pay by $100+/mo; shamefully low pay for people who work all day and still take time out of their day (not to mention gas) to go do plasma. It really can be considered donating at this rate. They also have no respect for your time. Every step of this process has become gruelling and time consuming. It's taking anywhere from 2-3 hours to get out of there lately. I know they like to call it "donating plasma", but let's be real; we're selling our TIME and our plasma... our resources. They like to play on your emotions with feel-good stories about your plasma saving lives, and it's true. It's also a very good thing, but Takeda is a $29 billion dollar pharmaceutical company. So I know I've made a 5 star review before, but I feel the need to make another review after visiting 4 other locations. The staff is nice here, I really like them. But I feel like they're extremely short staffed, and also from being at 4 other locations, I feel like there's a lack in sense of urgency. Recently the lines have been overwhelmingly long. And this review isn't to knock any of the employees, but to let other people be aware how long it takes at this location. Every other location I've been to has me in and out in no longer than an hour and 20 minutes. This location, on average takes an hour to be seated, and occasionally it can take someone up to 30 minutes to address you after you've been seated. If you're crunched for time and think you'll be in and out here, you won't. That's all. read more

I am new to plasma donation and am no expert, but I have to believe the process shouldn't be this way. Whoever manages the schedule/appointments has no respect for the donors time. Your website states, "On a donor's first visit, the whole process, including a physical examination provided by BioLife, medical screening and the plasma donation, usually takes around two hours. Repeat donors generally spend approximately an hour in the center." - that is literally copy/pasted from the FAQ section of your website. Each time I've gone in, half of the stations are not in use because there aren't enough staff. It is taking over an hour to get screened, then over an hour to get assigned a station, then another hour to actually do the donation. It's easily 3-4 hours for repeat donors. This is NOT what your website claims. This location is accepting appointments for every 5 minutes from when they open to when they close...this might have made sense if you are fully staffed, but because you aren't, why haven't you updated the appointments to only accept the amount of donors that reflects the staff you currently have? I have had such great experiences with the staff, all of them are pleasant and kind. But it is obvious they need help and support. If you're unable to hire more people, stop taking so many donor appointments. I would rather see no appointments available then sign up for one that will result in 3-4 hour wait times...that's not an appointment, that's a walk in clinic. My husband was recently diagnosed with a condition that relies on plasma donors, which is what drove me to do my part. Getting the compensation is a blessing on top of that, as it helps pay for his medical expenses and the rising costs of living. I want to continue donating, but I won't be able to if I can't count on an appointment time being honored. read more

This plasma center and staff are amazing. They are super respectful and kind. They also are very gentle with the needle, wait times are better than other plasma centers, equipment is newer and they provide a snack. My husband and I have been donating plasma at the Hampton St location in AZ for months and a few months ago I told my phlebotomist that my treated arm hurt. she barely looked at me and said that the machine was returning my blood and that everything was fine. I started to feel lightheaded and the pain was going up my neck. another phlebotomist that had been very attentive to me in the past was alarmed and said to another phlebotomist that I had a hematoma . they worked quickly to get the needle out and switch to the other arm to prevent blood loss. my hurt arm started to bruise immediately and when my donation was over I asked to speak with a nurse. a nurse came to me and gave me a couple little frozen ice pouche's and a paper explaining what hematomas are and told me that a hematoma is just another name for a bruise. after that gaslighting, I went home and over the next few days my arm turned black and purple...the whole arm down to my wrist. it hurt so bad that I couldn't sleep at. night and it was difficult to work. I saw my doctor and she prescribed tramadol for pain relief so that I could sleep, wrapped my arm in a bandage and gave me further instructions to relieve my pain and help the hematoma to heal. she also ordered a sonogram to make sure there was no damage to my veins, etc. I went back to BioLife a couple times and they asked me to submit my dr bills and that they would pay for them. they never did. I called a few times and got no help and I still can't go back and donate. I really need those funds to help pay my bills. I highly recommend you never donate your plasma at a BioLife facility due to this. Another reason not to donate would be the wait times...they are horrendous! sometimes lines of 20-30 people. read more

Too many issues with this place, I knew I should have not wasted my time after looking at other reviews. For one, no one ever answers the phone. When you leave a message, no one calls you back. I have left two voicemails two weeks ago concerning two different inquiries I had. No one got back to me. Second, when I came in for my first appointment which included the physical, we were going over RX's. The lady doing the physical seemed off put that I was taking DHEA prescribed by a naturopathic Dr. Her face and demeanor came off very rude, questioning why I was put on it and even asked me if I had cancer? Which was quite insulting. She sent me with a paper to give to my dr to explain why I was prescribed the RX I was taking. That was sent back to them a while ago. No one has got back to me. I missed my opportunity to get the extra bonus money for donating. They think because you get paid to do this they don't have to provide decent human etiquette and return phone calls? No thanks. Butchered my veins. On third session screwed my right vein with hematoma. So used left vein couple times then on 6th visit has issues with correctly putting needle in left arm so went to the right one and I told them I had a hematoma from them 2 weeks previous. Tap right arm anyways as quarter way through the plasma process blood is coming out of needle and I had to alert them what was going on. They pulled needle out, started taking my vitals not explaining anything. Then another tech said vitals aren't necessary but no one really knew including the nurse who did nothing other than say put ice in it and you have to sit for 30 minutes before you leave. I've donated at a different plasma center before this one, and I can confidently say that BioLife is the best. While the app is a little buggy and prone to closing randomly, the ability to actually schedule an appointment is AWESOME. The first center I donated at didn't have a scheduling system, it was first-come-first-served. Because of this, I often waited multiple hours before being able to donate plasma (a process that is lengthy in and of itself!) Here I have consistently been in and out in under an hour and a half. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and I feel I've been able to connect with each of them, which is important to me because plasma donation is kind of a vulnerable process (hello, needle in your arm!) they use the plasma to save lives but their too worried about other things that don't matter .... I went in for my appt & they asked about tattoos/piercings/ etc. all my tattoos are OLDER then 3 years old ... as long as you haven't had a tattoo within the past couple weeks.. (becuz their worried about HIV/Hepatitis,etc). NO they NEED to know the EXACT DATE you got your tattoos , and don't make up a date... so make sure to document your life as you go. DO NOT RECOMMEND!! My appointment was at 1:30, it is currently 4:21 and I am still waiting. Do not go here to donate UNLESS you alot a MINIMUM 3 hours just to sit and wait to even be screened. After that expected wait at least another hour or more just to get into a bed. Just a heads up they are not quick or even efficient here. You get a feeling like you are cattle and they do not care at all that you wait 1,2,3,4,5 hours. This is not the first time this happened. Never had a problem with the donation process itself. My biggest issue is with the wait time. I schedule a 3:30 appointment and I am usually not even seated until around 5. I used to work at a Biolife in Layton UT, so I understand that this is highly unusual for a donation center like this. I asked around and many of the employees state that management will not hire more employees until productivity increases. Am I missing something...? Horrible company. Everything about their operation is horrible. Then on top of it they cancelled all of my appointments out of the blue. I got a notice to call the center. They NEVER answer their phones. I sent two emails to their customer service department and no one answered. I communicated via Facebook with whoever does their marketing and even they wouldn't help. I donate plasma because I have a friend who needs it to survive. This company markets incessantly because they need donors yet they treat you like crap every step of the process. And the people sticking you with needles are not licensed even though the act of donating plasma could result in death. read more

This is the slowest plasma donation center I have ever been to. And I've been to quite a few. I waited to 3 separate lines for about an hour each before I even got seated in a bed. I live right by this location but will not go here anymore because it is just such a waste of time. The last time I was there they had 4 employees running 4 bays while easily 50+ people were in the lines. The worst part is they only use about 1/3 of the facility and have the other bays shut down because that said that just don't have the demand to keep those running. This location and the management there just don't make much sense and don't seem to care at all about the donors experience. Instead I drive 30 min extra to the next closest location. Even with the hour of driving there and back I end up saving quite a bit of time. read more
