I have been to both Plasma facilities in Fort Myers. Grifols is hands down the better place. Their procedures are way more efficient . Their staff is friendly and help each other. You can actually sit down while waiting to be evaluated before Plasma. There is no fast pass lane at Grifols that causes you to wait even longer in lines standing up. read more

Worst experience ever, they denied me as a donor even after approving me and scheduling a appointment. Very unprofessional, one of their associates called me a liar and said no one ever approved to stick me and that I never once came to this location when I was on their system. What a shi* show, no staff . Get ready to wait for at least 2 hrs from appointment time till out the door. Short staffed and yet they still book people as if full staffed. Had come to this grifols plasma donation center many times in the past. Never had a problem with them finding me or my social security number. All of a sudden today I don't carry my social security card with me at all times, I get told by one of the workers here that my social does not match my name. To which she has no other explanation other than I don't know sir that is your problem. When I've never had this problem with my social not matching my name nor have I had the problem of not being able to show even my tax records to prove that it is me. read more

I had a mess of an intake mainly because I had a huge hole in my arm from an ER visit that very morning. This naturally sent everyone into stage four panic alert because the natural assumption MUST be made that I am a raving mad needle injecting drug madman out to get 40 some bucks by being scrutinized like a lab hampster! To make matters worse, the papers I had from the ER visit were incomplete! So I signed a paper to have the hospital disclose and left for another appointment and by the end of THAT I was ready to throw in the towel but instead I dragged myself back in and I sure glad I did! It didn't take long for me to realize after reading reviews on the company in other locales that there is a "type" of person who visits here and I fit the bill exactly in spite of being the exact opposite OF that "type"(no judgments just reality). Story of my life. Regardless of the ordeal I was treated with respect the whole time and all staff/techs/nurses(shout out to Jorge)/lovely Doctor managed to navigate me through the insanity that is company policies and over regulation by government and I managed to donate my first unit of plasma! There were too many redundancies, computer glitches and threading all these regulations to call it "efficient" but the human experience was well worth it! My highlight of the eve was the joyous shout of a young Autistic fellow periodically reasuring me that we where all in this together :) Some tips from experience: Come in with expectations of a long first day of intake and bring everything you'll need. It worked out to about 8 dollars an hour my first day mostly my own fault(I blew it...no, literally, I blew my own vein out). Once you learn the system you could potentially be in and out in less than 2 hours. So about 20 bucks an hour for 16 hours a month. It wont make you DJ Trump but its comfortable compensation. We are in SW Florida. Every business that is good is GOING to be understaffed and Staff are GOING to be underpaid in my esteem. Just do your best to make their lives easier and we all win. Final thoughts: The facility was clean, well designed and comfortable. The computers were a bit buggy, laggy and amazingly redundant but serviceable. Would recommend. read more

Is this place still in business? Been calling for days... Many times per day and nobody ever answers. If they are still in business apparently they don't want people to donate... This place has been a cluster f*** for many years and just changing the name from biotest to grifols doesn't solve anything. I have also left numerous messages with my phone number for the manager there to call me back so that I can get information and have never received one call. I have been donating plasma at this location for years. They are professional yet friendly. I've read some reviews that paint a negative picture. I would tell anyone who is considering donating that this IS a medical facility and to expect a professionally run yet pleasant experience. #1 Dress Code! Thank Heavens they DO have a dress code. Getting on and off the semi-reclining donation beds can be a trick if you are wearing short shorts or a dress. And NO ONE wants to see anyone's (male or female) private cracks and crevices! TY, BioMat! Adults should not have to be told to dress in a respectful manner. Dress codes keep the donor's comfort in mind as well as the employees and other donors. #2 Guideline on accepting SAFE Plasma! Again, TY! I had surgery and was deferred for a few months allowing my system to build back up again and make sure there were no complications. Again, TY that you screen those with possible health, drug, and or blood problems. I would NOT want my loved ones getting tainted Plasma! FYI: I have friends who cannot donate because they have had cancer and chemo treatments. Protection for any possible Plasma recipient! BioMat assures the safety of donors as well as the recipients of plasma. I'm not aware of many professional places that don't have rules and guidelines to keep everyone safe. I for one, would not want to go to a place where donors, phlebotomists, procedure, and facility in general were not clean or sanitary. I'm happy to say that my plasma is saving the lives of unborn babies! :) All plasma is vital for saving lives of every age and need. read more

Don't waste your time going here. They are so short staffed it is ridiculous, beyond ridiculous. Even if you have a schedule appointment you still have to wait over two hours to get a bed to be able to start your donation process. If you want to waste your time and waste hours of your life for 35/40 bucks go ahead. I donated plasma at this place for over two years on and off and it has gotten worse. The management Obviously isn't given the resources or just plain doesn't know how to do their job. Higher the people do the scheduling properly and take care of the people that take care of you meaning the donors without them you would not be employed through this company. read more

very professional and competent staff. the employees cater to all of the patients needs at time of donation. the entire process takes me about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. i have been donating for a year with no problems. i dont know why the reviews are poor. however you are well made aware in advance that some days may be longer than others. if you cant make the time then do not donate. the hard working staff deserve much appreciation. read more

I used to sell my plasma here, like in 1997 and 1998. I came back recently, but the lady working turned me down because I am "wearing a dress," which is an absolutely bizarre rule. I have been sitting here for 1.5 hours, I had an appointment, was screened and I'm watching employees walk around aimlessly and still haven't gotten to me. I sat in the waiting room for an hour before I finally said I was going to leave. I watched people who came in 30 minutes after me go ahead of me. Not impressed. I probably will not come back.
