Unrelated to the park itself, a man was like an inch away from backing into my car in the parking lot, as me honking (luckily being IN the car) saved us. On the bright side, if you're not too picky about your beaches, there's not a whole lot of people there, parking is free, and there are a few picnic tables.

I think this beach is one of the cleanest and quietest beaches I've been on in NJ. You can spend the entire day here just relaxing. Free parking on the streets. More worried about chatting with friends putting sweatpants on and off and fixing hair than worrying about the kid with a 6' hard surfboard not foam with three fins on the bottom riding through the shallow water where all the smaller kids are. We shouldn't have to tell a lifeguard how to do their job they are supposed to be competent if you haven't noticed the surfboard directly in front of your stand banging into little kids. I dont fell you are remotely close to noticing someone drowning or in need of assistance. Piss poor example of a lifeguard.

The beach is long and clean with views of the casinos of Atlantic City and the Ocean City-Longport bridge. It is part of the Malibu Beach Wildlife Management area, so very pretty and preserved. You have to carry out your trash, and "hold-it-in" until you get to another place with a bathroom, and parking is limited. But, it's a special place to romp around and be carefree. Be sure to bring baggies and fresh water and bowl.
