I've been to this specific location twice: The drinks are of quality, especially ordering the matcha latte. The barista asked me what my preference was for the matcha latte( more or less matcha in the drink). They made my drink efficiently each time (not a long wait). Also, their costumer service is really great! I had cracked my cup (my fault). They quickly replaced my drink with no extra charge! This will be one of my staple cafes while I'm in NYC. read more

All the drinks are named after birds. I got the coffee flight and an egg sandwich. Good thing I went here after the run along the westside highway, otherwise I'd be straight running to the bathroom. All the coffee on the flight are pretty strong except the latte. It's pretty hard to share since the espresso is like gone in one sip. This is one of the first places you'll get to at 57 market. You'll see that there's about 20 different restaurants and cafés. This one seems legitimate. Stopped by this spot since it was the only specialty coffee place near the pier, floating island, and the food court area. Tried both the coffee and matcha--both were just okay. Both drinks were pretty sweet and lacked strong flavor, plus got a bit watered down from the ice. Located inside the food court, so there's plenty of space to sit and relax. It can get busy, but it was pretty empty when we visited. Overall, convenient if you're in the area, but the drinks didn't really stand out. read more

Better customer service! Located indoors around so many other eateries, this place is so adorable. I feel the staff lack customer service and good training. Little small cares can make a huge difference in a customer's experience. To give me a cup with another customer's name scratched out is tacky! The coffee was filled to the top and no room for nothing else, since the tops are on another counter ~ hot coffee splashed on my hand. Was here on Thursday very briefly. Walking up, there wasn't a line. I was immediately greeted with a smile. I haven't had their beans, which will make a more complete review, but here's my initial impression: The fact they roast their own beans is encouraging. Finding good coffee in NYC is a mission. Since it was the evening, I got the "flaco" hot chocolate, which was a hot chocolate with hojicha and black pepper. I paired it with a miso rice krispie. I'm used to coffee shops adding all sorts of exotic things to their drinks, only for it to taste vaguely interesting. But the hot chocolate actually tasted like chocolate, hojicha and black pepper all at the same time. And it surprisingly really did blend well together. The miso in the rice krispie actually tasted miso-y, not just adding a salted flavor. For those alone, I'm impressed that they're trying to culinarily push the envelope, not just make trendy items. read more

I was so wowed by our lattes from the other Bird and Branch location stopped here too. This location is great within Chelsea Pier with tons of food options in the food court. Ordered the mockingbird which is incredible. I think I still like the blackbird the most. That one totally blew my mind! Almond macadamia milk is so unique and absolutely delicious! I stopped by Bird & Branch at the Market 57, Pier 57 location. It is located in the marketplace with a lot of other good and beverage vendors. Its the first to the left as soon as you enter the hall. I had high hopes for this place but it wasn't all that I expected. I ordered a hot drip coffee and a brie and ham crossaint. I thought the crossaint would be warm but I was disappointed when I got to my location to find it cold. The crossaint bread was hard to rip apart and it was very chewy with it's coldness. I felt it could be good if maybe it was warmed up but I was away from the place. and no the distance didn't cause it to get cold. For my coffee, I asked for cream. When I opened the cup I noticed the cream was separating and looked suspicious. I didnt really want to drink it in case the cream wasn't good but I mixed it and took quick sips. I needed caffeine. It was alright. tasted a bit bitter. Maybe because it was just recently opened for the day they weren't ready but I wasn't that happy with my breakfast. read more

I've come here a few times already. The pastries at Bird & Branch are to die for. Recently I tried a black sesame kouign amann. It had some a dollop of cream inside which was a nice surprise. I think I devoured it in 3 bites..it was just so good. They have lots of creative drinks if you're feeling adventurous but they also do the classics very well. My cortado was perfectly made. The baristas are in a good mood and are very helpful with recommendations if you're overwhelmed by the menu choices. Overall just a great experience. If they were locally in my area I'd be a regular. P.s. They also sell waters in aluminum bottles - I love that they avoid plastic where they can. And thank goodness it's not box water bc it tastes terrible. read more

Had walked through Little Island on a hot day and this was a perfect spot to grab a quick coffee. I loved the theme and that all of the signature drinks had bird names. I got the Blackbird, a latte with blackberry and thyme, and it was unique and tasty. The baked goods all sounded so good but we were full, so held back on trying this time. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars, is that my friend accidently spilled her drink when putting on the lid (lids are in a self serve section). As someone who has had issues in the past (sometimes they just don't fit the cup!) I knew it wasn't her just being clumsy. The baristas looked very annoyed and came over to clean it up, and they were silent when she apologized profusely. We awkwardly waited to see if they would offer to make her another drink, which did not happen, so I spoke up for her and asked them to make her another one. They did so begrudgingly, but she paid $8 for her drink, having given them a generous tip the first time too. Rubbed us the wrong way from a customer service standpoint. read more

I was trying to kill time before Chelsea Market artisan flea opened and I stumbled upon this coffee shop on the pier. I wanted and iced chai but they didn't have that BUT I got the best iced latte of my life. I ordered an oat milk latte and added a splenda...I will be dreaming about this latte for a while. Not sure what beans they use but it was superb. I wish I didn't add the splenda but either way...amazing! I walked over to Chelsea Pier with my drink and had a nice little walk.
