on a whim, we found an incredible spot to get some work done or read at if in the area as not every coffee shop around Midtown is as spacious with as much seating/charging areas. Stopped in for a quick iced coffee for someone else but was drawn by the spinach feta pastry and had to try it. Glad I did. This place was the absolute perfect spot to work remotely! I really loved the vibe in here, it's super trendy. There's also a decent amount of seating and free WiFi. I got a ham and cheese croissant (~$5) that was SO good. It was flaky and buttery. Probably one of the best I've had in a while. I also got an iced chai latte (~$5) that was also great. It was spiced and flavorful, but not overpowering. The staff was nice and the service was quick. A great experience here! read more

I ordered a coffee with coconut milk. After taking a sip I realized it extremely strong so I asked for a bit more coconut milk. Barista said I have no more I threw it out?! So I'm standing there like are you serious $6 coffee and you have no more milk to offer. Not the first she's had a major attitude. Wont be going back. No one needs that treat so early in the morning ! Horrible customer service! read more

I work in the same building as the coffee shop, so I get the option to either place my order in the kiosk, or coffee shop. Love the cold brew, balanced flavors without that bitter taste. My favorite pastries to order are the rosemary buttermilk biscuit and the Ham and cheese croissant. Very filling for the price range. I like to sometimes just go to the coffee shop, even though the kiosk is exclusive to the building. The staff are always friendly and I love the music playlists they play. read more

The main mission was to buy some coffee beans for a breakfast/brunch. And it was not as easy as I would have thought to find such in NYC on a Sunday morning. But I found what I needed at the Ground Central Coffee - which has a few locations throughout the city, but fortunately one not too far from my hotel. I also took a latte to go which was excellent, and a croissant which was good but not top. The beans proved to be excellent. read more

One of the thousand tiny cafes that litter midtown this one has a lot of nice touches. It is clear they've put thought into the ambiance with a very comfortable and cool vibe and the service was great! The barista recommended at scone and later came over to my table to check if I was happy with her suggestion. Btw I was. I'm a tea drink so I can recommend the chai as good, not great but good. I ordered a small decaf iced latte. The server didn't ask about the type of milk. I ended up getting a large decaf iced latte with skim milk. They didn't ask for my name and didn't call me when the coffee was ready, so it sat for a while with the ice melting. I hope they do the basics well, without making any assumptions about a customer's preference. read more

YO Ground Central is my go to place for a dirty chai. They NAILED the flavor and ratios and all... genuine perfection... would recommend. I also grabbed a ham and cheese croissant that was toasted to perfection. The way the croissant flaked with every bite and the FLAVOR. Incredible. Great coffee! Was greeted by staff when we entered. Ordering was quick and painless. Very short line. We each got an iced mocha, and I asked for an extra shot. I also ordered a chocolate croissant, warmed. Took a little longer than I anticipated to receive our items, but it was worth the wait. The iced mocha were very good! My husband finished his within two blocks haha My chocolate croissant was delicious!! It wasn't warmed but it was still great. It was exactly what I wanted. There was not too much chocolate in the center, just enough too add some sweetness. The croissant itself was flaky and golden brown. Yum!! Got a great oat latte. They had oat, soy, almond, coconut, and macadamia milk alternatives! They also had a small record collection for sale including some Paul McCartney and other classics. I also ordered a spinach cheese croissant which was such a nice addition since the barista toasted it. There was a community table open and a few other small 2 top tables so there wasn't a ton of space to sit, which I can imagine being an issue had I come earlier in the day. Came in and got a regular iced coffee with cream today. It's so hard to find a great regular iced coffee these days, everything is bitter-tasting cold brew! When I do come across iced coffee, it's usually weak or just nothing to write home about. This time, the iced coffee and service were both excellent, this is my new fave. Was looking for a place to get some work done, this place was pretty filled with people - they have a good variety of normal tables, higher tables/stools and couches you can sit on but certainly crowded. The music they had on today was more on the hard rock genre. The vanilla latte was fantastic. This place may be a hit or miss for doing work bc of how crowded, but they do have good wifi and bathroom, and great variety of drinks/food! read more

The interior design is nice with many seats available. The barista shown in this picture here, he is so nice, the way he greeted me and his uplifting spirit made my day! Just came here with two of my friends yesterday and ordered a cappuccino, matcha and iced chocolate. It was the worst! It was kind of a disappointment. Other locations are better but the barista looked confused after my friend told her the iced chocolate was not mixed right it was completely rocky chocolate powder how awful, the same with the matcha. You can get matcha somewhere else that can make it way better. The barista didn't seem to understand anything when I ordered to begin with so try to avoid if you want your drinks to end up the way mine did and to spend 7-9$ on each drink or recommended a barista! the other girl or the man that works here is excellent! The coffee is great but maybe I caught someone on a bad day. read more

The people/kids working there were very nice. I went to have lunch and got the text to return, and they are offering $150. So I picked up the items and turned down the offer. Again, they were very nice, it's just I wasn't willing to accept 25% of the value. I figured at worst it would be 50%. But I am better off getting closer to the actual price on ebay. Now, Buying. Lots of very expensive and exiting things to get, and I didn't have time to price check things so much, but my son is into the Nintendo switch and i spotted a used Marvel VS Capcom game he might like. It was $34.95. But just in case, I pulled up Amazon and looked the game up. A brand new one costs $21.79. So it would have been a terrible idea for me to buy it there. I guess if you are leaving work and need a quick gift, you might stop in and pay too much for an item. If you are in real trouble and don't have time to wait for an Ebay sale, you might consider selling your collectables for 25% the value, this place might come in handy.

In other words it's totally different and you can't compare the two. They are both worth a visit though I'd give the tiniest edge to Don't Blink since it is so darn friendly and chill there. So Tannens: incredible history and a great selection. Website is up to date and you can order online and pick up in store or have it shipped. Prices were normal but there's a first time 20% off coupon on the website if you sign up and it applied to my whole order. They have a few exclusives but the best is the book You are all Terrible. I didn't realize until I got back to my hotel that the author had autographed it - that's super cool!

This is the largest selection (aside from corporate-owned Bauman's) of rare books I've seen that include the dust jacket- a collectors actual dream. It's the biggest breath of fresh air to find a rare book store owned by a woman, and to be treated like a human being. I normally get side-eyed from rare bookstore owners and some of the conversations I've had sound like: "May I see the Portrait of a Lady in the case?" "All of these books are at least $100.00 and up." ".....I know." "Do you have any Wilde?" "The book about the woman hiking alone? That's too new to be in our shop, Barnes & Noble would have it." "I'm talking about the 1800s poet." "Oh." I take it personally because while I look like a millennial who doesn't know what she's talking about, I treasure my rare books like they're my children. Sunday stayed AN EXTRA HOUR at her store while I looked and answered all of my questions that I had, never making me feel rushed or unwelcome. After selecting a first edition Fitzgerald, she wrapped it in bubble wrap for my travels back home and gave me an updated book with all of the rare book sellers in the country.

Since that time there have been ongoing issues with magazine delivery delayed or arriving 1 month late, (only after I prod the distributor). I understand that this is an international magazine. Magazine Cafe provided a complimentary upgrade from Sea Copy to Air Copy, but that did not hasten delivery. I expect more rapid delivery of this expensive magazine. Perhaps another distributor provides better service.
