This place was so cool! I had done a little research and decided to purchase tickets for our family to visit. I purchased online in advance. It starts with sort of a museum, which we mostly skipped. We were able to use the clean restrooms and then begin our journey into the bird sanctuary. The birds roam free and there's actually cute little mice in the building. I think they're prey for the birds but couldn't be certain. There's all kind of birds here and they're allowed to fly around and roam inside the big habitat . Right across the border, along the Canadian side of Niagara falls. Expect to pay extra to handle the parrots and for the interior to be loud from screeching parrots. Also a group of parrots is known as a pandemonium. I saw the billboard on the US side of Niagara Falls, so I decided to pay a visit since i have also never seen the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. The parrots were well-behaved and the ones we were allowed to handle didn't bite or lunge. Unsurprising that they are well-socialized given that this business was supposedly built to be a sanctuary for abandoned parrots. I even saw a hyacinth macaw, which most people haven't seen in-person/not on youtube. read more

Finding Bird Kingdom is easy, finding the parking not so much. Apparently it's at the next door Travelodge hotel, but not very well marked. The Kingdom starts with some rooms about Niagara Falls history and some daredevils going down the falls. The first room, on the top floor, you enter has live birds, free walking tortoises and amphibians. Up a flight (stairs) and we found many bigger birds. They apparently bite (signs everywhere) and were very loud. The bottom floor is somewhat like a tropical forest with many birds. Very colorful ones. The tour took us about an hour. read more

I bought a Groupon to see Bird Kingdom 7 years ago, then covid hit. My Groupon was credited and I did not think about Bird Kingdom until recently, after seeing an ad. Tuesdays are senior day(1/2price)so today seemed like a good day to go. It's easy to find Bird Kingdom; what is not easy is parking. Nowhere in their website is where to park mentioned. When we bought our tickets, we asked about the parking. Park at the nearby Travelodge at $3.00/hour. We parked slightly up the hill at a lot that charges $5.00/hour. Of course you have to guess ahead of time how long you should pre-pay. An hour was sufficient today as it was not crowded inside Bird Kingdom. On a weekend, you probably have to pay for two or more hours, esp. if you plan to also go over to look at the Falls. It was not easy to see where the entrance to Bird Kingdom was in relation to the parking lot. It was about a 5-7 minute walk to the entrance. Once we bought our tickets(2 for $25.00/senior price) the directions inside directed us a long, not well lit staircase to start. We walked through a room with a lot of Niagara Falls history before entering a room with live birds, tortoises, and a few other amphibians. Many were in their private habitats, but two tortoises were walking around on the same floor as the visitors. We were told we could pet them and that they can actually feel their hard shells being patted,scratched. We walked up another long flight to another open exhibit. There were signs here, telling us not to feed or try to pet these creatures as many are biters. A lot of pretty birds, who are also very talkative, squawking! One then follows a path towards the ground floor, looking at a lot of pretty birds in the huge trees that the path winds around. At the ground floor there were 6 or 8 Scarlet Ibis, adding a very bright bit of pink at the end of our tour. The brochure mentions parking, but does not say where. It also says wheelchair accessible, but I saw no elevator. We had a leisurely walk through Bird Kingdom, getting back to our car in less than an hour. It is a small venue, but there are two long flight of stairs that are not very well lit, possibly due to some of the animals being nocturnal(bats, specifically). read more

I thought the bird kingdom was ok. In fact, it was a little disappointing. For 'the largest indoor aviary,' it didn't seem that great. The one at the Bronx Zoo is comparable. Also has reptiles and turtles. Not bad, but probably not worth the price. All that said, the little ones will probably appreciate it more. I liked my visit here. I spent about an hour and a half looking at all the animals and various nick knacks throughout the building. I feel like this attraction has a lot of attention to detail, which I like. The decorations fit in well with the theme and story they sell. The audio guide was cute too and the scavenger hunt was just enough to keep you engaged, without taking away from the experience. I thought the price was fair, but do wish parking was free/validated. At $5/hr, it does impact the cost of admission. It takes it from being a great price, to just a fair one. All in all, I'd come back every once and a while and visit. I haven't been here since I was a kid, so l decided to revisit but take my fiance there for the first time. It still holds up and is still so much fun! So many amazing birds and other creatures to look at and talk to. The staff there were super friendly and knowledgeable and made our experience there that much better. The $5 to be able to feed the birds was well worth it as you will literally be covered with birds all over your arms and shoulders. We also went at a time where it was super slow, so if you wanna walk through with less of a crowd, the best time to go is on a Sunday at 3:30. Felt very good knowing that everything is very humane and the birds are not always kept in small cages, most of the time they'll be in the main atrium which is unreal to walk through! read more

Visited bird kingdom for the first time and I definitely enjoyed it! I spent around 2 hours walking through the entire building learning about the different birds and reptiles from staff members who all definitely knew what they are talking about. All of the birds seem to be in very good shape and well cared for by staff so that is always great to see as a lot of places don't even do the bare minimum when it comes to animal care. A delight! Other than taking the boat ride "into" the falls, this was my favorite thing at the falls. We were in Niagara for two days and ran out of things to do. Bird Kingdom was suggested to us at the pool one evening, and turned out to be an absolute delight. It is a perfect place for to spend a couple of hours with your kids during chilly winters! Leave your jackets in your car! Well, it is a multi level Aviary , with 1000s of beautiful birds from all of the world. The indoor temperatures are maintained as per their natural habitat and it is mostly moist and warm. There is paid parking outside and near by. I don't think there is anything to eat inside to go in with full tummy! The place is accessible and stroller friendly. They have talking parrots! My toddler went crazy over there. There is also a show every few minutes where you can go inside the cage feed the birds. This is a total tourist trap and the prices online are misleading! It is advertised for $15.95 + (feeding and patriot experiences are extra) we choose none of that and we're charged over $21/pp. Ended up going back the next day and getting refunded the difference after the manager agreed. Pricing aside this was a very boring experience. A few exotic birds in the open aviary but really nothing else. Many of the attractions were empty with signs saying under construction. First time being in the Bird Kingdom, I knew this was one of the best attractions in Niagara Falls and it is the largest free-flying indoor aviary in the world. When we went inside, we could smell the scent of birds. We didn't have to spend much time lining up. I think it's a pretty cool place and they also showcase the history of the museum, such as how it transformed into the Bird Kingdom. They have a few levels and different kinds of birds. The birds would just walk up to you, and they aren't scared. Maybe they are used to it. One of the birds can also strike a pose and say "Hi" to you. We came here with no real expectations other than seeing birds! The initial part of the experience was some museum type exhibits and some reptile/amphibian displays with some caged birds. After the third floor you come out to a large open atrium filled with trees and free flying birds. We visited Bird Kingdom over the weekend and had a nice time. The Customer Service: The customer service was mediocre. One employee was fantastic. This was the employee working with the parrots and who interacts with guests. He was sociable and chatty. On the other hand, the employee working at the front desk, was not helpful at all. After we finished going through the exhibit, we asked her where the washrooms were and where the other customers fed the birds. She said we could not use the washrooms because or go back to feed the birds because we had already exited the exhibit. I found this distasteful and unprofessional. It left a bad taste in my mouth and I truly believe she or another employee should have showed us how to get to the bird feeding area and let us use the washrooms. The Exhibit: When you first enter you go up a flight of stairs to an Egyptian style museum. We didn't know this was included but it was fun to see. Throughout the exhibit, we did find it difficult to know where to go because there were arrows going two different directions at all times instructing people where to go. I don't think it was organized too well. On the next floor, there were birds in cages and some other parrots outside on birches. One of the parrots who was outside is named Star and he is quite the talker. He repeats what staff have said throughout recent days and is fun to engage with. On the top floor there is a bird room with benches for you to sit and admire the birds. Then you walk out of this area and it's almost like a green house with trees, birds and a mini waterfall for you yo walk through. It was a fun experience and I would recommend it more if they could improve the customer service. Would I Go Back? If I was told their customer service was to improve or they were to invite us to do the feeding experience to make up for the missed opportunity, I might go back. Otherwise, I strongly recommend you check out the butterfly conservatory, which was a phenomenal experience. read more

When my husband and I heard about Bird Kingdom when we were planning our trip to Niagara Falls, we immediately put it on our "must see" list: an aviary -- how awesome is that?! And while I enjoyed seeing all the birds, I have to admit, Bird Kingdom didn't meet my expectations. For $18.95 + tax (I am kicking myself for forgetting that I could save $2 per ticket if I ordered online), Bird Kingdom wasn't worth it. Perhaps I am being unfair, as I have been spoiled by the Bloedel Conservatory in Vancouver (which is also nearly a third of the price), but Bird Kingdom was just so-so for me. The interior felt artificial, and I was disappointed that there weren't birds running around everywhere (in the Bloedel Conservatory, you have t be careful not to step on the tiny birdies running across your path). We were in two minds about going there, but decided to go in the end. That turned out a great decision as we enjoyed the place quite a bit and it was not over-priced. They have many birds of various types. The birds have plenty of space to fly around and looked very healthy and well-taken care of. I was surprised to see different birds this time. In the small aviary there seemed to be fewer birds. Not sure what happened to them. I hope they are okay. For example I didn't see the grackle in the small aviary. The single owl in its enclosure seemed really small. How can it fly around in there? Poor thing. I still find the washrooms only on second floor strange. It looks like there were washrooms on the ground floor beside the cafe. But with the cafe closed the ground floor washrooms seem to be closed too. The birds in the main aviary were more active this time when we visited. The Silvery Cheeked hornbill was calling out. But it's the only one of its species here. I wonder if it's lonely. The scarlet ibis were the bird that I could see had the most numbers. The great argus pheasant was moving around this time. Last year it stood rock still & didn't move at all when we saw it. The Boat billed heron is still very territorial & chases away any ibis when they come near. I do wish they would expand the spaces for the birds. Despite all this I still like to come here & see the birds. I bought another t-shirt for hubby & though expensive this is the only place I've seen the shirts with animal art on it. read more

Maybe expectations were too high considering some of the higher rated reviews I read here but I found it just okay at best; perhaps underwhelming. First you wall through an short old museum exhibit. OK interesting for adults new to Niagara Falls perhaps. The kids will be itching to move on. Then a few smaller rooms of birds, before finally arriving in the large aviary. This room was actually very well done and interesting. Lots of paths so it was never overcrowded. Plenty of interesting birds. The kids enjoyed this area. It's just hard to justify the price for the amount of time you will reasonably spend here. Luckily we got the AAA discount, which helped a bit. Plan to pay $5/hour for parking as well. They recommend 2 hours, but we found we were in and out in about 1 hour. read more

this place was the highlight of my niagara falls trip! parking is $3 an hour, i choose 2 hours and that's about the amount of time i spent there. the best part is the huge upstairs aviary. birds are flying around everywhere, birds i never seen before or even knew existed. they come close to you and you can get some really good pictures! i highly suggest feeding the lorikeets, it was so much fun! and you get a cool souvenir photo. i really enjoyed seeing all the birds and getting up close to them! if you're an animal lover, this place is for you. read more

It was our visit yesterday and my kids had a lot of fun. The temperature there was comfortable. Before we went in, we worried that it might be too stuffy for us to walk around with our parkas. 'Lorikeet Encounter' was our favorite favorite and I like how even though there was a line up, the staff didn't hurry us. I would suggest to get there earlier before they got filled by all the other kids with nector. It was so cool to see a lot of beautiful birds up close.
