They are tiny but well stocked with what you need. The house is very nice and the rooms are large and well appointed. She provides golf carts to get around the property which is riverfront on the Blanco River. She has grills and chairs there. She also has tubes and stuff. My favorite thing to do is fish!! They are always small but I always catch something and that is what is important to me! My first stay here was probably 8 or so years ago and I keep coming back and it never disappoints!! Just thinking about it now makes me look at the calendar to see when I can make a reservation!

I just happened to see something come through my newsfeed over Fb, I bookmarked it, found my schedule open, so headed east to check it out. Emma likes to play in her room... and who doesn't like to play with little spirits?! I didn't know the history of the Magnolia Hotel so was totally clueless walking in the door... Magnolia Hotel has been on Ghost Adventures on Travel Channel. Also, Magnolia Hotel is ~not~ a hotel, it is now a personal residence. To my delight, I was able to hear stories of the old hotel, tales of it's past residents many of which have never left, and how Magnolia Hotel was discovered by the owners. Jim & Erin saved the Magnolia from being demolished... they single handedly have saved a part of Seguin history!... and some haunted history at that! I spent about two hours just hanging out, looking around, and people watching... talked to some interesting people, listening to questions and answers... all very interesting. Did I have an experience? I had something creepy go up the back of my left neck and skull as I was talking to a ghost hunter in the original dining area where the owner was sitting. I also felt some weird things around the house... but something I brushed off at first until I started listening to others talk about it... when you first come up the stairs, it feels really heavy. I originally brushed it off as I just walked up the stairs... but no, go back and you feel it... and everyone was feeling it!!! Emma was playing in her room. One of the guides said just a few minutes earlier, a little girl got scratched. Then someone told her that they saw the door knob in the pink bathroom turn back and forth. The owner, Erin, said this house is more active during the day than at night. Wow! The owners Jim & Erin host a ghost tour in their home on occasion, which books up months in advance. The tour last about 2 hours with in-depth stories which might also include a spiritual reading from the Erin at the end (but only if deceased wish to come forward). Erin has written Haunted New Braunfels, Haunted Seguin, and soon to be released Haunted Magnolia House. All proceeds go towards restoring the Magnolia Hotel. I can not wait to go on their ghost tour!

We stayed here as one if not the only hotel that is not an inn or chain. We don't stay at Best Western much and while not awful it wasn't good either, especially for the price. It is serviceable and they seem to prefer it that way. So fellow travelers, what to expect? The rooms are clean, decent size. Ours had a microwave and mini fridge, a desk, and a couch with table. King sized bed. Personal preference here but the sink and mirror are separate from the bathroom. I can see how this could be useful but I don't like this style where it's basically part of the room. Shower was weak but plenty of hot water. They had the game show network which was awesome as we have a tradition that if it is available we watch it on trips. Bed was ok but has the smallest pillows I have ever seen. They were not very comfortable. The rest of the story...they had vending machines in lobby and at least on our floor, the 2nd, but the food ones were maybe half full on our floor. Breakfast fron 6:30 to 9am I think. We never ate it so no idea if any good. They have a small gym. The treadmill was completely broken, no note, nothing said at check in. It was un plugged as was the AC in the room. Not a great look. When we left for the day Saturday to do all the fun stuff we asked about housekeeping. The door placard here had privacy option and please clean. Front desk said if we switched it to clean please they would. They didn't. Also getting new coffee packs is a chore. No one seems to know where or what they are also don't bring towels or anything to the room. I know that seems petty but even smaller chains we stay still do that. This big chain where ever time we passed the front desk was just someone watching TV can't do it. Sadly we may stay here again as there are few choices but for the cost it is really not worth it. Also makes me think Best Western is a chain to pass on when other options are there. For a cheaper price this would be fine. Until next adventure my friends.

We stayed there from Thursday April 23rd - Sunday April 26th 2026. It was like living in an Italian Villa and you would be hard pressed to find a more gracious host and chef than Justin anywhere ! He's been doing this for over twenty years ! We arrived at the Lakehouse around 3:00 pm and were immediately welcomed by Justin who carried our bags to our upstairs Medici Room and gave us a tour of the house. Justin also provided us with excellent tips on things to see and do in the area, as well as suggestions for restaurants for lunches and dinners. Thursday evening, we ate dinner on the outside patio of Gennaro's Trattoria where we enjoyed their Authentic Italian Kitchen. Friday morning, we enjoyed a delicious omelet breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room overlooking Canyon Lake and great conversation with other guests. Following breakfast, we took a leisurely drive down River Road to the quaint town of Gruene (that's pronounced "Green"). There, we had lunch at the Gruene River Grill, followed by a relaxing stroll through the many antique and boutique shops in Gruene, and a visit to Gruene Hall, Texas' Oldest Dance Hall. We then returned to Canyon Lake and enjoyed some merlot wine and cheese and crackers (which we had brought with us) on the Lakehouse's covered outdoor patio overlooking Canyon Lake. We had dinner at Canyon Lake's Wildflour Artisan Bakery & Grill which offers a full menu. On Saturday morning, we enjoyed a delicious Belgian waffle breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room. Following breakfast, we drove to the town of Blanco and visited Arnosky's Flower Farm. After walking around the beautiful flower fields, we bought some beverages and snacks inside Arnosky's barn and sat in the chairs on the barn's covered back porch patio overlooking the flower fields, humming bee feeders, and bird feeders. You could sit there a long time as the scene is ever changing. From Arnosky's, we drove to Tillman's Cabin Resort in Blanco and ate lunch at the Rio Blanco Café overlooking the Blanco river. After lunch, we drove to the original 1885 Blanco Court House in downtown Blanco where we took a leisurely self-guided tour of the courthouse. We also visited Blanco's many antique and boutique shops. Saturday evening, we attended the 4 pm mass at Canyon Lake's St. Thomas The Apostle Church. At the end of mass, we witnessed one of their congregants step up to the lectern with the pastor's approval, talk about what the bible says about a wife, ask the lady in the front row next to us to step forward, and then bent down on one knee and asked her to marry him in front of the entire church congregation, and she said "YES" and they kissed. What a beautiful proposal ! Following mass, we had dinner on the outside patio of Canyon Lake's Elio's Osteria e Pizzeria. On the evening drive back to the Lakehouse, we saw lots of white tail deer in the neighborhood. On Sunday morning, we enjoyed a delicious scone and quiche breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room. We again enjoyed conversing with the other guests as we had every day, and then we packed and headed home. Sorry for the length of this review but my wife and I thought readers might enjoy hearing about what one can do from The Lakehouse Bed and Breakfast at Canyon Lake. The Lakehouse is centrally located in the Texas Hill Country and opens this area up to you like a box of chocolates!

The private on-property pool was the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. I agree with all the previous visitors who raved about Justin's fantastic breakfasts! Day 1 included orange scones and a delicious zucchini fritatta and roasted potatoes - incredible. Day 2, by special request, included strawberries Romanov and eggs benedict with sausage. But from the moment we arrived, it was clear that--while still beautiful--the inn was showing signs of wear, a faded echo of its restored glory from 20 years ago. What we liked: The property retains a nostalgic charm, with antiques adorning every corner. The hosts greeted us warmly and shared a bit of the inn's history. To their credit, they did warn us that the older electrical circuits might cause occasional flickering lights. What we didn't expect: Lights turning on and off by themselves. The television powering on in the middle of the night. Bed sheets being pulled off us while we slept. Feeling as if I was being touched and it wasn't my husband. The paranormal energy was far more intense than we'd anticipated--and ultimately, we decided to cut our trip short. Other concerns: The pool was dirty, and while breakfast was tasty, it was surprisingly sparse. As someone who's stayed in many bed and breakfasts, this was the first time I've encountered a buffet-style setup with no table settings, no water service, and a limited selection. We left both hungry and unnerved. Speaking with locals we learned that stories abound about hauntings in Gonzales.

I wasn't sure were I was going to find my caffeine in the am but Becky had a variety to choose from and it was just right outside the bedroom door. Score!! The breakfast was very good, served fresh and hot. After our plates were given to us and she was going to head out to give us our privacy, we enjoyed her company so much that we asked her to stay and visit. There were always Becky's homemade flaky biscuits with her special jelly accompanied by a different menu daily, always including fresh eggs she had collected that morning. We also go to Luling for sky activities, like hang gliding and skydiving, so it's nice to have a nice place to stay when we go. This place personifies excellent customer service, from beginning to end. For this stay, which was a birthday surprise for my partner, I had emailed for information to find the room with the biggest tub so he could have nice soaking baths, and they didn't just send the info, they sent along pictures to help me choose. Every room has a fridge, microwave, and a Keurig machine, although you have all of that available in the dining room as well. There is a giant grand piano you can play, and lots of lovely places to sit and relax.Every room (upstairs and down) has porch access, with rocking chairs and porch swings. And there are even road bikes you can borrow! Upon arrival, we were greeted like long-lost relatives, with homemade blondies and dipped berries waiting in our room. We were given a tour, and then Jessica dashed off to get us some ice at the market, so we could have some in our bourbon. The dining area has available at all times homemade goodies, juice, water, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and popcorn. You are NOT going to go hungry. And the breakfasts are to DIE for - so delicious! Terry, the owner, often comes and joins, and he and Jessica are delightful company. The rooms are huge, and decorated whimsically. Miss Annie's room even has a red silky robe for the ladies, because apparently Miss Annie used to garden in her red robe (ooh, la la!). The beds are very comfy, and there are easily 20 pillows with which to make yourself a nest - or perhaps a pillow fort. We also really enjoy sitting on the porch swings and having a cocktail or beer, just chilling. It's restful, it's delightful. This trip, on our departure Jessica remembered me telling her that I love urban foraging, and will make use of any leftover fruits and veggies people have, so she packed me a back of veggies from her garden, along with some more blondies for the road. She also packed up some snacks for us the previous day when we were heading out to spend the day waiting to jump out of a plane. Everything about this place is completely delightful. The service, the company, the atmosphere, the food, everything. I cannot possibly recommend it highly enough. As others have noted, yes, there are train tracks nearby, and you can hear the trains going by. If that's a problem, I'd suggest earplugs. For me, it's reminiscent of my childhood, so I don't mind. If you want to be pampered and enjoy a lovely environment for a weekend away, I can't recommend this highly enough. Stop in Lockhart on the way for some delicious BBQ. Luling has some BBQ also, if you don't feel like stopping. Make sure the check out the Farmer's Market too!

It was nice to have her sit with us at breakfast and chat as at most B&Bs they do not. Our room was upstairs and very comfortable and it included a bathroom and lots of space. The breakfast and we had three were fantastic especially the stuffed French toast. I could've just moved in, ha ha. Janetta told us about Georgetown and it was really cute and glad we went there. The B&B is in a small town just outside of Austin. So you can get to any place pretty easily. We even drove to Fredericksburg spent the day and came back with no trouble. Highly recommend
