I've been going to this Birds for almost five years and have been seeing Barbara for the entire time. There's a small lot in the front and some additional street parking behind Bird's which is helpful since the lot fills up fast. Barbara is my homie. She's always given me a great cut and has also talked me through some breakups so you know she's the real deal. I know I can always count on her to look out for me and make sure I leave looking good. Was turned away for being 8 minutes late to an appointment; policy says 10 minutes is the cut off. I had also tried calling when I started the drive to let them know I'd be late, but no response. Stylist (Dre) said nothing could be achieved in 20 minutes and sat in the back room instead of trying to see what could be done in the remaining time. I would've taken a buzz cut at that point after driving 45 minutes for the appointment, but no effort was made to help read more

I'd never normally leave a review but this was insane. If it wasn't for Barbara, this would be a 1-star nightmare/Better Business Bureau situation. My experience started with zero help regarding parking. Then the first stylist butchered my hair. I mean I showed her pictures, dude. She was acting erratic and moving the clippers like a bat out of hell. She went way too high and left me looking like I was joining the army. I asked for a low-mid fade.. When I asked for someone else to fix it and laughed at myself in the mirror to cope, and not legitimately lose my cool, the blue-haired stylist (wouldn't give me her name and told me to say that, don't blame the messenger) next to us completely lost it. She ripped my cape off, tried to kick me out, and even tried to have someone call the cops. It was unhinged behavior. Huge shout out to Barbara for stepping in. She apologized for the insanity and salvaged what she could. She is the only reason I didn't leave furious. The vibe here is hostile, but Barbara is a pro. Ask for her. I'll give another go with Barbara for sure. She gained my respect. read more
