    Alpine breakfast sandwich
    Tori Y.

Hot lava bakery is severely underrated on here !! My husband and I were so impressed by the size and quality of the food. We were stopping for a quick breakfast and got HUGE breakfast sandwiches on a homemade croissants (delicious) and some got a maple donut to go - bigger than the size of my hand. Their dirty chais were also great - more spicy than sweet. Will absolutely be making this a staple stop every time I am in Sunriver - their empanada menu looked incredible, gotta try that next!

A go to spot every morning we're in town. Love the doughnuts, the cinnamon role, Bigfoot, Marion berry fritter. Also they have empanadas and our favorite the alpine croissant

For several years now, Hot Lava's been my breakfast go to when in Sunriver. Their pastries, savory breakfast sandwiches, and coffee beverages are excellent.

Cinnamon Roll with Cream Cheese Frosting

A bakery in Sunriver Village that's been around forever. Interior is chic and has a modern-ish but still cozy feel with a bit of seating. Workers are generally nice and patient. They have a large selection of pastry, but the cinnamon roll is arguably the best item: soft, super-sized, sweet, and cinnamon-y with a cream cheese frosting that ties it all together. Check it out if you haven't already!

The pastries were MASSIVE here omg. We ordered a raspberry cinnamon roll and split it with 4 people. Ordered the Mt. Bachelor breakfast sandwich on a croissant and low key the croissant was not good. Too bready, not flaky and light. If this sandwich had a different croissant it would have been pretty good I think. It also needed a sauce. I added their chipotle aioli sauce from the mountain man sandwich and it was better with that. For a coffee I got cinnamon brown sugar hot latte. 7/10.

Our families favorite things are maple bars and Bigfoot so when I seen they have Bigfoot maple bar donuts, well.. YES please. Were like to think we were maple bar connoisseurs and these were perfection. We also got a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting and blueberry lemon scone. Everything is super sized so we ate on them for a couple days. Yummy coffee too.

Excellent breakfast sandwiches and pastries! Sandwiches are made fresh and to-order, so they can take a while. But your patience will be well paid off! We got the Mountain Man Sandwich on a Croissant (ham, sausage, bacon, cheddar, egg, onion and chipotle sauce, $12.50) and a Lava Sandwich on a Cheese Bagel (ham, egg, cheddar, red onion and jalapeños, $11.75). Holy heck, they were totally worth the price and tasted awesome. The Lava Sandwich was full of jalapenos that did give a lil bit of a kick, so beware! Of course, I had to grab some sweets, we picked up the iconic Big Foot Donut ($3.75) Dulce de Leche Turnover ($3.75) and a Marionberry Strudel ($5.50). While they were all delicious, the strudel by far was the best! It's a huge piece completely stuffed with sweet marionberry sauce enveloped in beautifully flaky pastry. My new favorite! 10/10 recommend.

Decent baked goods. Lots of variety.

The short, dark haired woman working the front register was extremely rude. Donuts were overpriced.

I think everyone who works there is apart of this family. They argue and bicker that way but you know it's out of love for one another. The sandwiches are made with love and they really listen to any request you may want to add to customize your meal. What I love the best is the ingredients are fresh and they do not cut corners here. Josie's special sauce is a must try on any sandwich! The experience that made me smile today when I came in and made me want give this review is the customer service. I ordered a normal breakfast sandwich and added some veggies. The lady that took my order was very sweet and attentive. She never once rushed me or made me feel like I was a bother by adding things to my sandwich. What took it to the next level was the inquiry about the soup of the day, clam chowder. My absolute favorite!!! They didn't have any ready yet because obviously it was morning. I asked her what time they closed and I told her I would come back later in the day for it. She said it would probably sell out before I got back so she offered to put in a ticket for a later pickup. What?! Who does that and on top of it said to just let her know if I couldn't make it back in time. Right there is above and beyond customer service. This is why I will frequent a place if the service is good. I don't need to feel like I'm being pampered on, just welcomed. This place is just that and on top of it, delicious food too! Great service, quality and its a family establishment. I love it.

My kids had a blast flying down the hills on them. Equipment was clean, well maintained and safe. Jon's shop was fun to walk around in and look at things.
