From the beginning, Alan was methodical, communicative and prompt. He showed up to give us an estimate and answered my numerous questions about the job at hand. By the end of the same day of his initial visit, we had a detailed estimate in email, which we approved. Our house was remodeled in the past with uniqueness and quality materials in mind, but with 80% completion on many aspects. We needed a contractor who could help complete our unique vision. Alan replaced a large area of cedar shakes on the back of our home, helping erase the evidence of a decayed deck we previously removed. We just bought a new/old house outside Clackamas that was stuck in the 80's. Tim came out and accessed our project and the main issues that needed to be addressed right away. Our home inspector had discovered that the water damage noted in the basement was coming from poorly grouted tile in our bath and every time we showered water was running down our wall. We knew when bought the home we would need to attack the bath right away and Tim's professional, cost conscious suggestions made us feel we were in good hands. The home is two stories with a 530 square foot workshop and 530 square foot apartment with a loft and large exterior deck. The home was finished in spring of 2019 and is currently my primary home and I rent out my other house on the property. Alex (the owner of WOB) and his team were awesome to work with throughout the project. Alex was good about communication and letting me know the various stages of the build. He is passionate about construction (and his mini excavator) and was out at the project much of the time directing and performing the work himself. This was my first large construction project and Alex made it easy to do business. The quality of the work was outstanding, and his pricing was very agreeable. WOB was flexible to changes in design as the project moved along and did not come back with price adjustments outside of large upgrades (which I requested) which were not in the initial design/build quote. I was expecting to engage WOB in conjunction with R&B Design Studio LLC (to provide the building design/permitting) to assemble a house based on architectural drawings. Both teams worked closely together to execute a full top to bottom project management services package that included architectural drawings, scheduling, material and design selections, construction, permitting, etc. R&B Design Studio LLC is a company that works in conjunction with WOB on many projects and did an outstanding job to design a space that feels much larger than it really is and is highly functional. WOB also has a show room to help select materials and builds custom cabinets making it simple to select materials without having to search for these items and do price/quality comparisons. This made it very helpful being a working professional. Also, both teams helped select interior flooring, cabinets, tiles, countertops, etc. which is a large benefit as I find this difficult without guidance. They made it super easy to do business with them and even found a way to shave about $8,000 off the project through working with the city on specific criteria. I would highly recommend both Western Oregon Builders and R&B Design Studio LLC for any construction project. The end product is so much more than I anticipated, I could not be more appreciative of their service.

Alex provided a unique design for the space that thoughtfully incorporated the pre-existing elements like our trellising grapes.
