I was in the market for a pair of Birkenstocks so I searched the Birkenstock website and could not find my size in the color and model that I wanted. So I began searching other places online and still could not find what I was looking for. FinallyI searched on ChatGPT and it led me to Birkenstock Midtown. I searched the model that I was looking for and surprisingly enough, they had my size which is a large hard to find size in the color that I wanted. About a year and a half ago, my best friend gifted me a pair of Birkenstocks. I loved how they looked and felt, but I didn't wear them as often as I wanted to because they were just a bit too loose. Fast forward to recently--I decided to take them in and see if anything could be done. I visited the store to ask about adjusting the strap, and the staff was incredibly helpful. They added an extra hole to the strap right there on the spot--for free! Not only that, but they took the time to give me a lot of useful tips about how to care for and maintain my Birks, which I really appreciated. After some research and wear - berks are high quality, durable, and comfortable, thanks to their signature contoured cork-latex footbed that molds to the shape of your foot over time, providing excellent arch support and promoting natural movement. The uppers are made from premium materials like leather, suede, or the brand's synthetic Birko-Flor, while the EVA soles offer lightweight cushioning and grip. Though they can feel stiff at first, most people find them extremely comfortable after a short break-in period. I feel like the value matches the price range you buy them for- Everyone I interacted with was super friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care about providing a great customer experience. Was confused by online Birkenstock vendors, regarding sizes etc. Gave up and went to our local Birkenstock store. The salesperson Emily explained the European sizes and how it actually translates into US sizes for Birkenstock shoes. I asked for a US sized 10. She gave me a EU 42 which she said converts to 9-9.5. She also explained that the shoes would feel more like a 10. Was seeing online, that particular style only offered medium narrow and medium wide. Turn out there is no specific "medium". She explained medium wide is basically medium. If you can just go to the store, I recommend that. Also some people prefer looser shoe, some snug. That's why the sizes on the box might not reflect your desired preferences. AKA. Try them on. Lastly, these shoes as expensive as ______. Birkenstock sells at retail. No negotiation. It's hard to believe that this is one of the only Birkenstock stores in NA. The service is sub par, the attitudes of the personnel are impatient and inexperienced, childish almost. An instanation of this was the sales person snickering to the second sales person thinking that she wasn't being observed but I gave my gf space to try on shoes so I just happen to glance up at the same time as the rep making the dismissive expression. After striking out on a number of well-known websites, I happened upon Birkenstock Midtown and gave it another try and called them. I was very pleasantly surprised when Jessica told me that they actually had 4 pairs of them in stock, in her size! I bought them over the phone right then, and received the receipt via email almost right away. You did not have the size in men's we were looking for however, the woman's was available in one of the shoes we were looking for. The associate chattered something towards my daughter and then set the box of shoes over across the isle from was I was waiting for her, opened the box and walked away. Stood across the room near the register so she could chat with the other associates. And that was that. I am not in the mood to chase staff through the store. There were 2 workers already helping people when I came in so I browsed around and then waited until someone was available so I could get my size. Another lady came out and apologized for my wait which I didn't mind at all! This store looks like it has everything but there just weren't quite the color combos with the styles I wanted. The lady was very patient though while I tried on about a half dozen different pairs, even when I asked for one more before I was about to purchase another. I ordered a pair of Birkenstocks from the manufacturer and thought that they were too big. I went to Birkenstock Midtown to ask them to check the fit. The woman immediately saw that the fit was incorrect. Although she couldn't do an exchange, she offered to fit me so I could return and replace them properly. I've always loved Birkenstock as a brand even when I couldn't afford it. My sisters saved up to wear their Boston and Arizona Birks when we were in high school, over 30 years ago. I have only been to Birkenstock Midtown a few times but they were meaningful. I bought a pair of Blundstones that I had wanted for years. The sales associate was a rock star. Another visit, I brought a pair of my sisters Gizeh sandals that she had given me. She passed away 5 years ago and since then I have worn them completely out even though they are a size too small and I got callouses from them, worth it. I have been walking in her footprints. I went to Midtown Birkenstock to get them repaired, the associate basically called them a lost cause. I explained how sentimental they were to me and she made every effort to make sure they would do whatever repair magic was possible. If I could give this store 10 STARS I would. Customer service today was 3 STARS at best. The associate seemed borderline annoyed that she had to help me. Humorless, abrupt with answers to questions, she was weirdly adamant about my being a size 39 (without measuring) when I wanted size 40. Why? It's my foot, I know my shoe size. It was off putting. Birkenstock is a quality brand, customers expect to pay for that quality but they also expect quality customer care. All of the staff was very worried and worked hard to try and troubleshoot the issue. They did everything the could to help. This location is amazing. Whole heartedly because of their staff. I purchased some non slip clogs that ended being defective and they were able to exchange the pair. Surprisingly, the new pair had a problem and unfortunately I had go back in again and see how to fix the issue. I met with an associate who actually talked me into getting blundstone boots for work. She had explained to me the pro's and cons for each shoe and was even able to offer a small discount in exchange for my defective pair. The entire staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Nice little store with a lot of variety to BirkenRock. I went on a weekday afternoon and it was quite busy. However, staff were very friendly and helpful. They were conscientious about needing to size up/down, as Birkenstocks can be tricky finding your right shoe size. It took about 30 min to find and decide what I was looking for. I love this store and recommend them if you're looking for comfy footwear that fits well, looks cute, and lasts a long time. They're family owned and operated, and everyone who works here is so kind, patient, and completely focused on the customer. If you're looking for something specific I recommend looking at their website and calling ahead to check. The other day I came in to browse but I knew I wanted to walk out with a new pair of birkenstocks. It was hard for me to decide, but luckily I had plenty of patient help to make my choice. I've bought shoes here before (my favorite black leather Mayari pair is seven years old and in great shape) but usually I know exactly what I want and it's a quicker stop than this was. This time I was able to find the perfect fit in the Arizona Vegan Birkibuc (and in navy blue which is what I was hoping to find) in no time, and actually engage with the salesperson. It was great! I was able to look at different brands as well, because it's not just birks in here (they have sandals, tennies, clogs, and boots from a variety of brands), and also found a pair of socks with purple cats on them. What can I say, I'm a creature of habit. Yes they're pricy shoes but this shop does offer sale prices on shoes going out of season, so be on the lookout for that. I don't mind paying more for reliability and quality. They also offer free resealing of soles when you buy shoes here, and they have the products available for you to do it yourself if you would rather. Choice is always nice. For rona times, they're only letting 6 people in at a time, so there might be a line if you come later on a Saturday, which I say from experience as I don't live far from this location. They're located on J & 26th, perpendicular to Marshall Park, where parking spots can be found usually during their shop hours, which are 10-2, Tuesday through Saturday. read more

Wow wow wow! So I totally killed my pair of Birkenstock's that I had purchased in Germany three years ago. Which really broke my heart. But I wore them for everything! Hiking, pregnancy, in the rain and everything. My pair were beyond killed lol almost feel bad for them. Anyways fast forward. I finally came here from a recommendation from an old coworker. I entered and was greeted with friendly smiles and people ready to help me. They have SOOOOO many options including Dansko, and NOAT and a few others as well. I have been wearing Birkenstock for over 45 years, the last pair I bought last summer, so I didn't wear them that much . The Suede leather "Gives" and we're very loose on my foot , Tighten them on the very last hole.And every time I warm it loosened them up to where I had to punch another hole into them.So one side of the shoe is very tight. I was planning a visit and looked up if there were Birkenstock locations, and I got lucky! At the time of my visit in December 2021, they were limiting the number of people in the store at a time, so there's a queue outside. The wait wasn't long. I was helped promptly, and the help was sooo needed. I had looked online for advice on sizing, and if I had followed that advice, I would have thought all the options were wrong for different reasons. I walked out with my first pair of Birkenstocks :) The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is that I felt like I had to ask very pointed questions to get answers even though the sales associate helping knew it was my first pair. I had a terrible experience with their service and won't be returning to this store for any future purchases. I was treated very poorly and it was clear that I was not valued as a customer or as a human being. I was helped by a man who I understand to be the owner. I knew what I wanted and was in the middle of telling him what I was looking for when he turned and walked away to help another customer. Like, I was mid-sentence when he did this. I was stunned because I couldn't believe anyone could behave this way, particularly when serving a customer who was preparing to purchase $150 pair of shoes. When he finally came back to me, I told him what I wanted and gave him the size. He stepped away and returned with boxes of shoes, which he placed on the bench directly in front of me. I bent down to open the box and he said "oh those aren't for you, those are for the ladies over there". Like, what??? He was more interested in this other couple who had come in the store after me. He was completely dismissive and inconsiderate through the entire transaction. Honestly, I would have walked out but I'd already waited outside in a huge line to get into the store due to COVID. If you suffer from foot pain, go here! They literally changed my life and I am eternally grateful to Toni, the kind owner, for her compassion and for introducing me to Joya shoes. At age 44 I developed Peripheral Neuropathy which caused major foot pain, forcing me to go on disability. I tried all kinds of shoes but never found relief. When I came here, Toni listened to me, understood my condition, and knew right away what to reccomend. I never heard of Joya before but they called their product "The world's softest shoe". I tried them on, walked around, and literally got tears of joy in my eyes ... IT FELT GOOD TO WALK AGAIN! The shoe feels normal, not soft like a foam pad or anything, and they look good. $240 was way more than I ever paid for shoes, but I saw this as an investment in my life, and I just bought my 4th pair from them in 3 years. They outlast any running shoe I tried before by at least 200%, making it actually cheaper than what I had been spending. When I got my pair recently I gave Toni a huge hug and tried not to cry as I thanked her profusely. I was back to work after my first pair and to this day can walk almost as much as I did before the PN came on. I'm sharing this because finding this store was a major event in my life, and I hope my review can help others regain their life and mobility back. Thank you again, Toni! I've been here several times always hoping it will be better than the last and I'll have some luck, but nope. I have bigger feet than most but not unheard of, plenty other stores have shoes my size in stock (11.5). Every time I come here, the selection just.... SUCKS. I do love Birkenstocks and I know for a fact they have 11.5 shoes in cute colors for spring/summer, so why are these never stocked? Every time the only options available are black, grey, brown - boring! When it comes to other brands too, good luck on this store having them in my size. I know Naot makes 11.5, but they never have them here. If you have feet bigger than 11, just skip this place. It's a waste of time. read more
