I asked the gentleman at the register about my order, and after checking, he told me it was only halfway done. I asked how much longer it would be, and after checking again, he said about another eight minutes. While I was waiting, yet another table that had arrived well after I placed my order was served. I mentioned to the waitress that this didn't seem right, and her response was simply, "That's just how long it takes." I explained that if carryout was actually going to take 45 minutes, I should have been told that upfront. I would never have chosen to wait that long. What disappointed me most wasn't just the delay--it was the lack of communication and the lack of concern. A sincere apology or an honest update would have gone a long way.
